Bump Hair Weaves: The Ultimate Guide
If you are looking for a quick and easy way to change your hairstyle, bump hair weaves might be the perfect option for you. Bump hair weaves are pre-bumped human hair extensions that can be attached to your natural hair using glue, clips, or sew-in methods. They come in different lengths, colours, and styles, so you can create various looks with them. Here are some tips and tricks on how to use bump hair weaves to achieve your desired look.
What are the benefits of bump hair weaves?
Bump hair weaves have several advantages over other types of hair extensions. Some of them are:
They are made of 100% human hair, which means they can be styled with heat tools, such as curling irons or flat irons, without damaging them.
They are pre-bumped, which means they have a natural curve at the ends that adds volume and bounce to your hair.
They are easy to install and remove, as they do not require any special tools or skills. You can do it yourself at home or go to a salon for a professional service.
They are affordable and versatile, as they come in different lengths, colors, and styles. You can mix and match them to create different looks for different occasions.
How to choose the right bump hair weave for you?
Before you buy a bump hair weave, you need to consider some factors that will affect your final result. Some of them are:
Your natural hair texture and colour: You want to choose a bump hair weave that matches your natural hair texture and colour as closely as possible. This will make the blending process easier and more seamless. If you want to change your hair colour, you can also dye or bleach the bump hair weave before installing it, but make sure you follow the instructions carefully and use quality products.
Your desired length and style: You want to choose a bump hair weave that suits your personal preference and face shape. You can go for a short and chic bob, a medium-length layered cut, or a long and glamorous style. You can also choose between straight, wavy, or curly textures, depending on the look you want to achieve. Your budget and availability: You want to choose a bump hair weave that fits your budget and is available in your area. You can shop online or in local beauty supply stores for bump hair weaves. Some popular brands are Sensationnel Bump Collection, Outre Velvet Bump, and Wetsy 27 Pieces Weaving Bump Hair.
How to install bump hair weaves?
There are three main methods of installing bump hair weaves: glue-in, clip-in, and sew-in. Each method has its pros and cons, so you need to choose the one that works best for you. Here are some general steps on how to install bump hair weaves using each method:
Glue-in method:
Wash and dry your natural hair thoroughly.
Part your hair horizontally from ear to ear at the nape of your neck.
Apply some glue along the weft of the bump hair weave and press it firmly onto your natural hair near the roots.
Repeat the process until you reach the top of your head, leaving some space for your natural hair to cover the tracks.
Cut and style the bump hair weave as desired.
Clip-in method:
Wash and dry your natural hair thoroughly.
Part your hair horizontally from ear to ear at the nape of your neck.
Attach some clips along the weft of the bump hair weave using a needle and thread.
Clip the bump hair weave onto your natural hair near the roots.
Repeat the process until you reach the top of your head, leaving some space for your natural hair to cover the tracks.
Cut and style the bump hair weave as desired.
Sew-in method:
Wash and dry your natural hair thoroughly.
Braid your natural hair into cornrows from front to back, leaving some hair out at the front for blending.
Sew the weft of the bump hair weave onto the cornrows using a needle and thread, starting from the nape of your neck and working your way up.
Cut and style the bump hair weave as desired.
How to care for bump hair weaves?
Bump hair weaves are made of human hair, so they need proper care and maintenance to keep them looking good and lasting long. Here are some tips on how to care for bump hair weaves:
Wash them gently with mild shampoo and conditioner once a week or as needed. Avoid rubbing or twisting them too much, as this can cause tangling and shedding.
Dry them naturally or use a blow dryer on low heat setting. Avoid using high heat tools on them, as this can damage them and reduce their lifespan.
Comb them gently with a wide-tooth comb or a paddle brush, starting from the ends and working your way up. Avoid pulling or tugging them too hard, as this can cause breakage and shedding.
Store them in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. You can also use a hair net or a silk scarf to protect them from dust and dirt.
Bump hair weaves are a great way to change your hairstyle in a matter of minutes. They are easy to use, affordable, and versatile. With proper care and maintenance, they can last for a long time and give you a natural and beautiful look.
Conclusion
Bump hair weaves are a great option for anyone who wants to add some volume, texture, and style to their hair. They are easy to install, maintain, and remove, and they come in a variety of colours and lengths. Let’s say England has a long-term girlfriend he knows isn’t the biggest fan of marriage bc her family had been really really pushy (before she got the heck out of dodge) about her marrying + reproducing ASAP. How might he react if she came to him and said she was kinda starting to like the general concept of marrying him — that is, the whole ‘together forever’ bit. Thanks!
I confess darling that I have been trying to finish this prompt for well over a year, and I offer my sincerest apologies that it’s taken me this long to finish it. Still, despite my tardiness, I hope you enjoy, and I thank you for your patience with me.
Tumblr media
You had never intended to fall in love, not with the constant push of your relatives to fall in line like a perfect child.
First, marriage to someone they deemed acceptable, raising the perfect 2.5 children, followed by quietly settling into parenthood and complaisant contentment until the day you last drew breath.
Truth of the matter was, you had avoided all chances of romance for the first few years after you moved away from home, carefully slipping away from anyone who seemed remotely interested in you.
You knew your folks would have disproved such behaviour had they learnt the truth, but you couldn’t find it in your heart to care. You had your own dreams to pursue, your own story to tell, your own life to live; you didn't need someone by your side to feel complete.
You were happy as you were, finding enjoyment in your work and figuring out your place in the world.
You didn’t need, or frankly want, anything more than that.
That was of course until you met him.
Falling in love with Arthur Kirkland had been a complete accident. He slipped past all of your defenses and took up residence in your heart as if he had always belonged there.
It started out slow enough; at first you simply knew him as a familiar face from the cafe in Waterstones, steaming cup of Darjeeling and a chocolate croissant sitting forgotten on the table in front of him, always too focused on his reading to pay any attention to the outside world. After one particularly crowded Sunday afternoon, he began to transition into your favorite dining companion, the two of you often taking turns paying for each other’s food. Slowly but surely, you began forgetting about your books, too wrapped up in conversation, and before you knew it-
You had come to love every part of him- the gentleman that you begrudgingly introduced to your parents, the rebellious and passionate activist, the cocky and playful little shit who had long ago memorised all the best ways to disarm you, and the ancient soul who cared so deeply, who still stretched himself thin most days in effort to protect each of his loved ones.
You fell in love with his voice, whispering sonnets and sonatas and sweet nothings in your ear while his arms cradled you from behind.
You fell in love with his eyes, still losing your footing sometimes when the light caught them just right, dreaming momentarily of summer forests and grassy glades and the misty dews of spring.
You fell in love with his smiles, from the satisfied grin at stirring up Peter’s ire to the breathless wonder each time you kissed or complimented him, to the bright, beautiful, blinding smile he wore when he was incandescently happy, his entire countenance iridescent from his joy.
You loved him completely- for his devotion, for his sweet gestures, for his damned impishness, for his wit, his sass, and the soft spoken affection.
You loved him: for his patience, for his recklessness, for his resilience, for his possessive pride that was somehow more charming than alarming.
He was unique, an enigma that, even after having lived together for years and dating even longer, kept you on your toes, his energy and random spouts of spontaneity proving to you that, even if you spent one hundred lifetimes with him, he would always remain a puzzle you would never fully solve.
And by God did you want to.
Arthur had stolen your heart away from you before you had even noticed he was close enough to take it, offering his own in its stead.
You had remained reluctant, confided in him your fears about settling down, how much you dreaded becoming trapped in a monotonous rut of tedium. He was quick to reassure you, showing through words and actions far more impassioned and teasing than he had ever shown prior, that an eternity with him could never be boring.
Even on quiet days, like today, with a steady drizzle painting the world in greys, Arthur humming quietly while adding another patch to his denim vest, and no other disturbance apart from the cat’s chittering at the robins playing in a puddle by the iron fence- Even now, you weren’t so much bored as you were pensive.
You had been thinking about a future with him a lot in the past few days, some irrelevant ad on your mobile about wedding venues catching your attention and slithering into the back of your mind.
What kind of wedding would he like? Would Arthur prefer something small and intimate, or would his hubris crave a larger venue, giving him yet another chance to prove to the world that he belonged at your side, no one else?  You couldn’t help but wonder if he would wear his uniform or a suit, if he would leave the rats' nest he called a hairstyle untouched, or if he would perhaps slick it back in that way that somehow made the normal rakishness disappear, a confident, refined cavalier standing in his place.
You knew of course that none of this mattered unless you actually talked to him first; as far as you were aware, he was content with the current arrangement, and he respected your views of marriage.
He had known, for a long time, just where the grim outlook stemmed from, and he never breached the subject again.
But now-
You had thought it was enough to hold his love, his faith, his vulnerabilities. But life was so fleeting, and now those few things were no longer enough.
You wanted to wake up every morning next to him, wanted the cheesy partners’ towel and flip flop sets. You wanted the physical reminder that you held his heart, the comforting reminder that he completely possessed your own. You wanted to be by his side forever, holding his hand through the good and the ill, facing new worlds and challenges and the uncertain future together.
You knew the risks, of course.
Marriage to a Nation carried an even heavier burden than the simple oath of “till death do us part.”
No, marrying Arthur would mean weaving your entire lives together, binding you on a spiritual level far surpassing mortality; it would mean sacrificing your chance to ever grow old, to eternally give yourself away: heart, mind, body, and soul.
But this was Arthur, who sang showtunes in the shower, who spent hours making silly faces at the cat, who was ridiculously competitive about Halloween costumes, the man who sat down and memorised the entirety of The Tempest in one night just for the bragging rights.
He already owned your heart, constantly invaded your thoughts and daydreams, and God knew he had long, long ago claimed your body, making certain not a single millimeter of his new territory went unexplored.
Would it really be so bad to give him your soul, too?
Glancing back up, seeing his eyes narrowed in concentration, his fingers handling the needle with expert precision, lips slightly parted, reading glasses fallen halfway down his nose-
You knew your answer.
It was always going to be Arthur for you, only Arthur.
Forever, should he have you.
But now you faced the challenge of telling him that.
It should be simple enough; you really held no more secrets from him, and he no longer bothered trying to hide anything from you. You loved how open you were with one another, cherished the honesty that served as the very foundation to your relationship.
But the truth was that you were terrified.
It had been so long since either of you had spoken of marriage, since the topic was even a thought in your minds, and-
What if he didn't want you anymore?
What if he-
"I can see the steam coming outta your ears."
The unexpected presence of Arthur's voice startled you, eyes darting back over to the very man who was unwittingly tormenting you.
He had barely moved from his earlier position, though his glasses had been pushed up into his hair and he was studying you curiously, if not bemusedly.
"You good there?"
By default, you nearly responded with an affirmative, some playful, lighthearted thing that would have dismissed his concern immediately. You cut yourself off mid-start, then, while shifting to sit properly in the armchair, you decided to push forward. "Can we talk?"
You watched as his expression shifted, revealing his concern as he tied off his thread, setting aside the patchwork and gestured for you to join him on the sofa.
There were a few awkward moments where you took up your favourite positions, Arthur tossing an afghan across the pair of you despite your insistence that you didn't need one, the flicker of a grin as you begrudgingly thanked him, and then shifting around as you both got comfortable, but soon enough-
"Alright, now; talketh at-eth me."
It was impossible to fight the smile his choice of words triggered, a reference to an inside joke so old now that you could scarcely recall its origin. Seeming to deem it a success, his own soft, reassuring smile greeted you.
"Seriously though, luv-" His hand came to rest atop your own, his fingers gently tapping a familiar rhythm against your skin. "What's troubling you?"
You were half-tempted to offer something short of sincerity, something innocuous and mundane that you could both laugh over and forget again within a few hours. Yet, you knew that if you didn't tell him now, didn't ask him now, you would never find the courage again.
"I've been thinking-"
"Ah. A scary premise in its own right."
"Oh, shut up," you retorted to his tease, smacking his arm for his troubles. He rewarded you with a grin, all fondness and mischief. Opting to ignore him, you pressed on, eyes downcast to avoid whatever judgement he may offer.
"As I was trying to say earlier, before I was so rudely interrupted-" The teasing fell off, and the worry crept back in. "I've been thinking. About us."
"O-oh?"
Were you not so consumed by your own anxieties, you would have noticed his stutter, would have seen the sudden tension in his posture, the fear in his eyes. As it was, you were completely oblivious to all of it, and made yourself continue at his prompting.
"I- I think I'm ready."
He mimed the word "ready" to himself, parroting it with utter befuddlement. "For wha-"
"I mean, I know I wasn't for such a long time, and-" Suddenly, you were off, half unhinged. Now that you had admitted the truth aloud, it was all rushing out of you, everything you had come to love about him, everything that-
A finger pressing firmly against your lips stopped you mid-tangent, and when you glanced up to find piercing, blazing emerald focused on you as if you were the very center of the universe, whatever remained of your ramblings disappeared entirely.
"What are you trying to say?"
A simple question, so easy to answer, yet it carried with it the weight of Infinities, demanding nothing save the truth, in its most basic state.
You were lost in his gravity, half-drowning in whatever this new feeling was. It was addicting, another riddle to be solved.
"Marry me."
Time stood still, the words weighing heavily in the space between you, now seemingly insurmountable despite being no more than mere decimeters.
Arthur showed no reaction, revealed no indication that he had even heard your plea, your query, your command, your request, and yet it echoed over and over in your own mind, the tone, the weight, the untimeliness-
Every facet- from your inflection to chosen tempo- crescandoed as an accusation, a mocking symphony that he would reject you, that you would be left with only the haunting strains of your ill-conceived proposal.
And yet-
There was a hesitation in his eyes, the face of a man who wanted wholeheartedly to believe what he had heard, but had been burned far too often in the past to dare allow himself hope.
"You-" His eyebrows furrowed, eyes narrowed as he studied you once more, only for the suspicion to disappear again almost immediately, disbelief swiftly taking its place. "You're serious?"
It was then that you finally read his nervousness, understood the strange emotion reflecting in his eyes.
You had lead him to a precipice, the vast Unknown before you both, and-
And he was just as fragile as you were, even if he was better at hiding it.
You gave his hand a light squeeze, hoping to ground you both, and offered him a nod. “If you’ll have me, anyway.”
His eyes flickered between your own, darting back-and-forth so quickly in search of a lie, of any doubts, of any hint that you were less than certain- yet you knew he would find none of that.
“What about your family?”
The question took you by surprise; in the moment, you had completely forgotten anyone else even existed.
You weighed his question carefully. Marrying Arthur would give your family leave to gloat in self-satisfaction, and you knew with absolutely certainty that they would hold it over your head for the next three decades. But looking into the eyes of the man before you, remembering all that you had already seen and done together, you found that others' opinions no longer mattered, really hadn't mattered in a long, long time.
“I couldn’t care less about them. Arth-”
Whatever you were going to say was forgotten as he closed the remaining distance between you, moving so swiftly that you scarcely had a moment to steady yourself before he captured you in a searing kiss, one of his most passionate by far.
Somehow, despite the suddenness of it all, the initial force, the intensity-
He was being incredibly gentle, and moving slowly enough to almost be more a torment than a treat. Almost.
You found yourself lost in a daze when he finally pulled away, just enough for each of you to catch your breaths, just far enough that he could study you with rapt attention. You could have drowned in his eyes, endless greens magnetizing in their intensity. His hands were still cradling your cheeks, still holding you firmly in place, a not completely foreign expression creasing his features.
You couldn't quite place it, even as your memories shifted desperately in search of its mate.
"'If I'd have you?'" His words, a rhetorical refrain of your own mere moments earlier, were scarcely a shared breath between you, murmured in timbre so low it summoned a shiver. There was the smallest twitch of his lip, his head tilting ever so slightly as more of that damned deviousness made its presence known. "I fully intend to have you regardless, luv. But the formality of it all certainly adds a particular je ne sais quoi, wouldn't you agree?"
You'd be damned if he knew just how that made your heart flutter, if he knew just how much weight that reassurance had lifted from your shoulders.
Carefree, content, you offered a playful smile. "Till death do us part then?"
Arthur no longer bothered trying to restrain his smile, soft and sincere in a way that left you breathless. "I'll love you till even the stars go cold, my dear."

The Myth of the Tom God
(Since I’ve been kinda busy (and lazy) this week, here’s a random story that we had to do in english class so here you go that I’m quite proud of.. Credit to @watermelani and @noonelikesnoah for helping with a few ideas of this work of not-quite-art. Also I swear I didn’t misspell Earth, you can thank another human that isn’t on tumblr for the quality name after misreading Earth, which sparked this whole disaster.)
It was the first day that the suns would finally shine on Erbth. After decades of fighting the suns and moons back into the void, constantly arguing over everyone’s roles, and trying to make the place livable after all the destruction that the constant fighting caused, all the gods and goddesses could start their work on bringing Erbth to existence. The Tom God, Tim, allowed at last to prepare his land as the god of all tom cats everywhere.
Every god had their creation. There was the Tree God, Jellyfish God, Dog God, and of course the Tom God. Well, technically he was the Cat God, it was, after all, the name he was given at the creation of the universe and the name he trained to hold. However, with his actual name being Tim, everyone just started to call him Tom God the minute they were old enough to understand names. Everyone seemed to find it hilarious that Tim, the most scrawny and weak god of them all, was given the name of the strongest, male cats of the, what everyone else liked to call, very weak species. Over the years, Tim thought long and hard about how to prove to everyone that cats can be just as strong or stronger than everything else.
“So what do you think of this land little guy?” Tim bent down and asked his trusted friend, Firstina, the first cat he created. Tim wasn’t as creative as other gods with names but he was definitely better at designing. Firstina was a small, fluffy, brown and white spotted cat that was only about the size of the first design of a monkey’s foot, which the Monkey God, Cace, deemed “too small and weak,” so Cace very quickly changed their feet into a much larger design.
Firstina nodded in reply, then started to find a comfy spot on Tim’s slightly hovering foot to have a quick nap.
Just as Firstina began to purr, the Goddess of Sharks, Puddle, approached, brushing a few pieces of stray seaweed off her arms, with her first and smallest shark swimming around in a little bubble of water that was hovering above her shoulders, the very tip of the fin slightly emerging from the water. Puddle had the curliest hair out of all of the gods that was dark black almost matching the void with streaks of dark green weaved in. She had hazel eyes and wore a long sleeve shirt with long leggings that looked more like a tangle of more seaweed than actual clothing.
“So, how’s your land of bunnies going?” She sneered, slightly breaking through the water to pet her shark.
“Cats, I have the cats.”
“Cats, bunnies, same thing.” Tim got back up from the ground, ready to speak after trying to suppress his anger when Puddle continued, satisfied with the anger she’s caused. “Sorry, almost the same thing, the God of Bunnies gave them the anger to do a bit of harm on occasion.”
“Actually, the- um- purring can make you vibrate a bit. If enough cats purr on you, they could make you uncomfortably shake for a second.”
“Okay, I change my mind. Bunnies are much more dangerous.”
Tim humphed as Firstina slightly woke up long enough to stretch and let out the biggest yawn before getting more onto Tim’s foot and passing out once again.
“Don’t you have some water you need to make more salty for them or something?”
“Actually I need to finish making defenses so that they don’t murder the rest of the world, which I guess is fairly important. I don’t think that it would be that bad, but everyone else says that would be bad so I guess I shouldn’t let them go crazy and kill all the cats and bunnies.”
Tim held back his anger and disgust. “Yea, you should do that.”
“Well, anyways,” Puddle said, breaking the silence.” This has been such a joy! Tata!” She put her hand on the back of the bubble of water, slowly pushing it back towards the see, out of Tim’s line of sight.
Even more discouraged, Tim began to raise a few trees out of the ground and grow the grass high enough so that the cats could play and hide in it, leaving a batch in the middle with lower grass, a small pound, and a giant tree casting a shadow over the area.
Just as Tim started to place fake fish and sharks into the pound for the cats to chase around, the God of Snakes slowly started to creep up the mountain with his small green snake curled up on the top of his head. The God of Snakes, Sleethy, was one slithery boy, as most of the other gods liked to call him. He was a shorter, thin man, who could easily slide through any spot and constantly seemed to appear out of thin air. Always carrying a smirk, he made sure his caramel brown hair would never see a day where it wasn’t slicked back.
“Ssso, what are your little sssoft balls getting sscared of now?”
“Something that is perfectly reasonable to be afraid of.”
“Like cucumbers?”
“What! They look just like your wicked creature, not like the snakes are more dangerous or anything.”
“Sssure.” Just as Sleethy stroked the back of his snake, the little creature woke up and glided down onto his arm where he curled up around his wrist, sticking his head between the gap of Sleethy’s thumb and index finger.
“So,” Tim asked, nervously playing with his fingers behind his back. For some reason, whenever Sleethy is around he just doesn’t feel as safe as he could be. Maybe it was because of hanging out with so many cats who are constantly jumping at cucumbers or because Sleethy has a habit of arriving out of nowhere, but Tim may never really know. “How is your newest design going?”
“Oh, that little thing. Well, I’m finally ssstarting to make them even bigger than they ssshould be. I’m thinking of making the reticulated python about, I don’t know, maybe 30 feet long. No big deal.”
“Yea, no big deal. You know, I’m starting to work on some ideas for bigger cats, too.”
“Oh really? I’ll be surprised to see how you can possibly make those things bigger without making them fall over even more.”
Tim tried to think of some kind of argument against that, because his cats rarely ever fall over, but it’s not like they don’t even have to since they’re already on the floor so much.
“Well, I mussst be going now, gotta work out how to make the larger ones move easier without any arms of legs,” Sleethy smirked, already sneaking away without any sign that he was ever there in the first place.
Finally alone again, Tim sat down under the main tree in the middle and spread out a few empty blueprints to try and make his design a bit more dangerous. Firstina bounced around the tree for a second before getting too tired and finding a comfy place in the middle of one of the empty blueprints, causing most of the page to slowly start getting more crumbly, but Tim didn’t care, he was too focused on his mission at hand.
Tim spent the next few moons creating and erasing lines, and pulling up a few prototypes made of mist that ran around for an hour before fading away once the wind blew across the land. He had almost finished his newest version of a cat that he wanted to be able to live in more of a desert environment when the Goddess of Eagles swooped down on her prototype of wings she had strapped onto her back.
Talon, the Goddess of all Eagles, had a short pixie cut like hairstyle with her strawberry blonde hair glowing from the sun behind her. She wore a brown and white dress that went down to her knees that was made to have the appearance of feathers without having to kill anything, and a flowy fabric for her sleeve that fell slightly past the end of her hand.
Talon immediately sprinted over to Firstina who was running around, swatting at a few fake fish in the river. She pulled the small cat into her arms, petting the top of Firstina’s head.
“Please, make sure these things are always this cute!”
“No Hi?”
“Oh, how could I forget! Hi Firstina,” she replied, picking up the cat’s paw and shaking it very gently. “And, of course, you too.” Talon pulled Tim into a tight hug, letting Firstina climb up onto her head in the process.
Talon is one of the few gods that Tim actually likes to hang around with, except for the one week where her eagles first thought about having a nice little snack on his babies, but now they’ve limited the murder to only on rare occasions.
“So, whatcha got there?” she asked, admiring the hundreds of spread out papers surrounding the area, half of them wrinkled by a sleeping cat.
“Oh, just a few new designs I had in mind.”
Talon picked up a page labeled Machairodus. It was the biggest model that Tim wanted to make, being about 2 meters long, with long teeth and an extremely intimidating face. “So, straying away from the cuteness a little I see.”
“Just a bit, maybe.”
“Why is that?”
“I don’t know, I just thought that they could be a little scarier, that’s all.”
“But can’t something be adorable and scary? So far every other god also wants to make their animal the most dangerous version possible, and I just want one animal that is at least slightly cute.” Talon strooked Firstina’s head, looking into Firstina’s shining eyes as she did. “Plus, wouldn’t it be funner to make them look cuddly, but then they pull out a surprise move? It’s what I wanted to do with the eagles but all the other gods complained that I can’t make everything look cute.”
“I guess keeping the fluffiness could help them. Except this dude is staying, he won’t last too long anyway.”
“Hurray!” Talon screamed, waking up the cat for a second.
“Anyway, how’s trying to figure out the best possible wings going for you?”
“I think I’m close to getting them now. I’m thinking of maybe a prototype with more pointed edges next time, and then I’ll gather a few ones made of mist to help test out a few new techniques I have ideas for. I am still struggling though with figuring out a better combination of wings and claws for them.”
There was a distant cry from Talon’s bird who had decided to go on a hunting trip earlier that morning, followed by the shriek of an innocent animal.
“You should probably go take care of that, huh.”
“Most likely,” Talon replied, starting her wings up again, sending most of the leaves nearby flying all around. “I’ll see you late though!” She lifted herself off the ground and disappeared before Tim could yell a reply.
After getting all the papers to stop flying, Tim sat down and worked for even more moons, barely sleeping and living off the new idea of coffee, but he has work to do and not much time to do it before they have to start placing the animals permanently on Erbth.
When Tim was finally done, he felt that the bags under his eyes could hold a few million souls, but, at last, he was done with most of his designs and was finally ready to show them to someone, and he knew exactly who should see them first. Tim sent out the cat hair covered letters by the bird prototypes the very next day, asking for them to come in about a moon.
Before he knew it, the morning came where he could see Puddle, Sleethy, and Talon coming to the tree in the middle from all different directions.
“So, what exactly did you want us to see?” Puddle asked, her words cutting through the silence.
“My newest designs for cats.”
“What, is it 100% more fur or something?”
“More like 500% more fur so it can cover up their new, huge design.” Tim pulled a few mists of the sketches up from his blueprints laying on the ground, and soon about a dozen ferocious cats were pouncing on everything, still acting like they were the size of a pea, while having the ability to murder anything they touch.
“Ssso, what’sss ssso different about these overgrown ssscaredy catsss?” Sleethy asked, backing away from where a jaguar was trying to lay over his feet.
“Well, they’re clearly bigger, and with that now you can clearly see their wit, claws, and teeth.”
“Where did that wit come from?” Puddle commented, backing away from where a tiger was trying to hug her.
“Oh, they always had it. It was the first trait I gave them. It’s just no one got to see it because the fur blocked it out. All the deadliness was just hiding under the layers of fluff, and it took a while to figure out the perfect combination of cuteness, deadliness, and easiness, but I think they’re perfect now.”
“And you will still keep the smallest models right?” Talon asked, already on the floor, cuddling one of the lions.
“You mean Firstina’s prototype. Of course, but I’m thinking about making the fur a bit shorter so they can live in a more hot area, but I had more ideas for the longer fur in the colder climates. I’m thinking of calling them the rusty-spotted cat.”
“And what’s the name of this cutie?” Talon asked, still hugging the giant spotted cat, making the cat purr in reply.
“That’s the cheetah. They’re made to be the fastest land animal and their claws can never be hidden.”
“Still not as great as the megalodon, tho.” Puddle snickered, stepping back into the water, not looking affected at all, but clearly Tim had hit something since she only mentions that creation when she really tries to be impressive against the other, fiercer gods.
“Well, I think it’s great!”
“Ssssure you do, Talon, everything is alwaysss ssso great.”
“Well everything is great.” Talon embraced a lion, starting to braid the misty version of its mane.
Defeated, Sleethy and Puddle went back to their animals to pretend that the conversation never happened. The only one left was Talon, who managed to get all the cats to surround her in a giant hug before the cats slowly disappeared into the mist.
She got up, brushing off some of the grass off of her, before throwing her arm around Tim. “Hey, I bet we can convince Gaius, the God of Pancakes and the Universe, that a few of these cats could be at the top of the food web.”
“Really?’
“Duh, they’re the perfect combination of everything, he’ll love it. Plus I personally know that he has a soft spot for cute animal noises.” She reassured, leading Tim and Firstina, who was resting on Tim’s shoulder, to the steps of clouds to go visit Gaius up on his flying pancake.

Tied Up in You
Chloe is frustrated with a certain someone’s hairstyle.
This is a oneshot belated birthday gift for the lovely @twindoodle!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY + 1 week you lovely bean!!!!🎂 🎉 🎁 (sorry for the delay!)
This is based off one of twin’s cutest chlonath pieces (JK THEY ARE ALL EQUALLY AMAZING AND ADORABLE) (link for lovely art)
(ao3 link)
Chloe glanced over her shoulder. looking towards the back of the room once more with a glare.
Of course he wasn’t even paying attention to the lecture and she scoffed lightly, watching him lean over his sketchbook. His red hair hung like a curtain over his face and how he managed to see what he was drawing was a mystery to her. Just to be sure, for her own well being, Chloe ran a hand through her ponytail, ensuring it was smooth and untangled.
Satisfied, even as she reminded herself to schedule another hair appointment for sometime this week, she turned back to her tablet, trying to catch up on her notes as class continued on.
But not even ten minutes had passed by and again she found herself turning in her seat. She couldn’t even see his eyes with the way his hair fell across his face and Chloe clicked her tongue.
“Miss Bourgeois!”
Chloe jumped, looking back to the front of the room and meeting the stern glare of her teacher, to which she easily returned. A low buzz sounded in her ear, but she paid it no mind. Unflinchingly, she reached for her purse and stood up. Her long, blonde ponytail swung across her shoulders and she chanced another peek towards the back of the classroom—he was still focused on his drawing. It infuriated her beyond belief. She walked towards the door, with her chin held high. Without sparing her teacher a glance, she declared, “I need to—ow!”
A sharp and all too familiar sting pricked at her side and in response she not-so-stealthily elbowed her designer bag. With a quick and graceful recovery, she said, “I need you use the washroom.” And with that she was out the door.
As soon as she was down the hallway and out of anyone’s sight, a yellow ball of fluff flew into view. Chloe made a small sound of disapproval, crossing her arms as she walked.
“What did I say about stinging me!?” she whispered harshly.
Stripes of black and yellow flooded Chloe’s eyesight as the kwami flew up towards her face. She blinked wide in surprise before reaching up to swat the bee-like creature away.
“Well what did I say about paying attention in class!” Pollen replied, her voice as sharp as her sting. She easily evaded Chloe’s hand, flying circles around Chloe. “Education is very important!” Pollen buzzed in irritation, her backside wiggling back and forth in a steady vibration.
Chloe walked on, not even deigning to offer a response. What good would another ten minutes of sitting in a classroom do if she was absolutely bored out of her mind?
She reached the bathroom door, swinging it open and not even bothering to wait for her pesky companion as it swung closed behind her.
In a flash of sparkles that she caught in the bathroom mirror, the kwami phased through the door.
“Excuse me!” Pollen said, raising her voice as she flew across the room. Chloe placed her purse on the bathroom counter, and began rummaging through her bag in search for something. Undeterred, Pollen continued, “Have you ever heard the phrase, ‘Manners maketh man’?”
“Yeah, well I’m a teenage girl…” Chloe said, as she raised a brow, pulling out her makeup bag. “What’s your excuse?
“I’m a god!”
Chloe rolled her eyes, “Right…sure.”
The buzzing from before seemed to intensify tenfold and Chloe sighed, not looking forward to another sting.
“Class is…it’s boring…and it’s basically over! I’m not missing anything important! Plus, I…” Chloe glanced down at her purse, “I needed to look for something.”
“And it couldn’t wait until later?” Pollen asked. The small creature alighted atop Chloe’s bag peeking inside, suddenly curious to know what Chloe was looking for.
Chloe shook her head. “It couldn’t wait! It’s too distracting!”
“What couldn’t wait?”
“His hair, Pollen!!”
Visibility, the lines along Pollen’s forehead raised, much like eyebrows would if she had them. Her wide blue eyes fell half shut as she gave Chloe the driest look imaginable. In a blink of an eye, the little sprite transformed from absolute irritation to an expression more in line to revealing how much she had endured throughout the ages.
Exasperated, she began, “Chloe—”
“How does he see , Pollen? When was the last time he cut his hair?” Chloe rambled on, shuffling through her bag. “It’s unmanageable and he doesn’t even tuck it behind his ears! I-I just! I need to fix it!”
“Chloe, let the boy bee—”
“Don’t! Don’t you dare pun in my moment of crisis!”
“How is this a crisis!” Pollen said, throwing her arms up. “Honey, you’ve faced much worse than a boy’s hair! You’ve battled countless akuma’s! You’re Paris’ hero! You’re….you’re not listening to me are you?”
And she was right, Chloe seemed determined and on a mission. Lipgloss, pencils, magazines, and various accoutrements were strewn out across the counter as she continued to look through her bag. Eventually she gave up on that task, reaching into her pockets. She pulled out a metallic comb that glinted gold, reflecting sunlight from the nearby window.
“Aha!” she exclaimed, holding the magically comb up triumphantly. “I guess this will have to do!”
“WHAT!?”
It wasn’t until a full ten minutes later that Chloe finally emerged from the bathroom. Her arms ached from a few more additional stings. However, what was most noticeably different about her appearance was her hair. Free from her usual ponytail, Chloe’s long blonde hair fell loosely down her back, waves of brilliant brass and sunlight in the late afternoon.
The hall was full of her fellow classmates, as they had been let out of class, and her eyes immediately found that familiar flash of red hidden amongst crowd.
“KURTZBERG!” she yelled, not quite thinking as everyone in the hall froze. Almost everyone was quiet, turning with wide eyes her way. But Chloe ignored their concerned faces, striding past their surprised expressions and beelining towards the sources of her troubles. Her trusty hair elastic hung loose on her wrist.
His hair was still covering his face and she glowered. Her ice blue eyes froze over as she made her way towards him.
“C-chloe, wha—!”
He was silenced as she ran her fingers through his hair, drawing it back from his face and revealing his eyes in full. Bright turquoise and unlike anything she’d ever seen. His eyes were richer and sparkled more than the jewels on her most prized bracelet. They glimmered even as he blinked wildly in disbelief, flinching at her touch.
But Chloe didn’t notice, instead she remained focused as her hands expertly weaved through his hair, pulling back the strands that were so often covering his eyes. She leaned down, not quite taking into account how close she was to him as she tried her best to manage his hair in a way that was practical, but also stylish. He was so short and she almost smiled as she gently combed out a few tangles. Despite his initial cowering at her touch, Nathanael eventually remained still, staring up at Chloe in a mixture of confusion and awe.
If anyone had remarked on the blush on her cheeks, Chloe would have quickly deferred it to an overzealous hand when doing her makeup earlier that day.
Nathanael on the other hand did not have an explanation for the deep shades of red staining his cheeks.
And just like that, in a smooth motion, Chloe unwound her elastic from her wrist and tied off a small section of his hair atop his head. Finally satisfied, she stood back, admiring her handiwork—along with that lovely shade of blue that clashed so well with his bright red-orange hair. It was a new look. He looked good.
True to her superhero persona, she gallantly ran a hand through her hair, flipping it smoothly over her shoulder and crossing her arms. Lost in their own bubble of triumph and bashfulness, the unlikely pair didn’t even notice the complete shock on their classmates faces.
Well at least for the time being…

short hairstyles quick weave fashion
short hairstyles quick weave When drying short, naturally curly hairstyles, Garrison says to use a wide-tooth comb and gently detangle the hair, then shape with fingers and let air dry as much as 95%. It is important to use a blowdryer with a diffuser, and not to fluff or scrunch hair, as this produces frizz.
short hairstyles quick weave
short hairstyles quick weave Oscar winner Diablo Cody recently chopped off her locks into a short, sexy pixie cut. Pixies are great because they are hassle-free. Just wash, add a little bit of product to give it some shape and you’re set. They’re also low risk when it comes to coloring because even if you don’t love the color, you just have to grow it out a bit, cut it off and start over again.
short hairstyles quick weave
short hairstyles quick weave Some women—especially those who are transitioning from chemically straightened hair to natural hair—choose a short-cropped style sometimes called a TWA (teeny weeny afro). While the hair is at its very shortest and growing out, they can “dress up” their style by wearing colorful headwraps and scarves. Those scarves can be purchased at many hair-care stores in African- or Caribbean-immigrant neighborhoods. They’re also available at websites that specialize in hair-care products for black women.
short hairstyles quick weave As they age, many women may experience dull, damaged hair; strands that are thinning; and a loss of body, but that doesn’t mean they can’t fight back with the right products and cut. Root boosters, volumizing sprays, and smoothing serums can help add volume and shine to aging hair, while leave-in conditioners can help soften coarse, frizzy strands, says David Groshen, owner of David Groshen Salon in New York City. For hair that’s thinning, a cut with subtle, volume-building layers is an easy fix, Crosby adds.
short hairstyles quick weave Curls are very stylish right now, especially short curls. For thin hair, curls add thickness. Natural curls You can style and better define natural curls with styling mousse or curl-activating products. Shampoo and condition your hair with products made for curly hair. Dry your hair with a head dryer or a blow dryer with the diffuser attachment. If your hair isn’t naturally curly, achieve this look with setting lotion and plastic curling rollers. While your hair is wet, spray it with setting lotion. Roll your hair in small sections to fit the size of the rollers. Sit under a hooded dryer or air dry. When your hair is dry, unroll it and apply an oil-based moisturizer. Pull the curls apart gently with your fingers. Let your hair frame your face or pull it back with a headband. short hairstyles quick weave
short hairstyles quick weave A scarf can be used as a hair accessory for both long and short hair styles. Tie a scarf around the crown of the head to use as a headband. Take a blast into the past and tie a scarf tied around a pony tail. A scarf can be used as a decorative hair band that ties just behind the ear as well. On cooler days, use a scarf as a head wrap like the old Hollywood films and tie it loosely in the front under your chin. Use a scarf in place of a leather belt to hold up skirts, pants or shorts. short hairstyles quick weave
short hairstyles quick weave People go gray at different ages. For some it happens in their twenties and others in their forties. There comes a moment when you may want to stop coloring over gray hair or just grow out the gray hair. When considering what kinds of hairstyles will work if you want to cut your hair and let the gray grow out, consider what is flattering to your face. Keep in mind that the shorter that you cut your hair, the faster the gray hair will grow out.

BUT ITS JUST MAKEUP! And other inappropriate responses to cultural appropriation
"Welcome to the new war on cultural appropriation," Cathy Young wrote for The Washington Post.
"At one time, such critiques were leveled against truly offensive art — work that trafficked in demeaning caricatures, such as blackface, 19th-century minstrel shows or ethnological expositions, which literally put indigenous people on display, often in cages. But these accusations have become a common attack against any artist or artwork that incorporates ideas from another culture, no matter how thoughtfully or positively. A work can reinvent the material or even serve as a tribute, but no matter. If artists dabble outside their own cultural experiences, they’ve committed a creative sin."
What's missing from the seemingly intelligent critique is the fact that cultural appropriation involves more than just being "offensive." Like racism, sexism, and many other injustice in this world, cultural appropriation is systematic and can affect multiple facets of our everyday lives.
As actress Amandla Stengberg put it: "Appropriation occurs when a style leads to racist generalizations or stereotypes where it originated but is deemed as high-fashion, cool or funny when the privileged take it for themselves."
Furthermore, once a style has been appropriated and seen as "cool," the appropriators can then make $$$ and gain status by emulating said style.
Lets take the most recent scandal, Marc Jacobs' NYFW SS'17 show, as an example. During this event, Jacobs chose to send an array of models down the runway adorned with colored faux locs made of yarn.
The immediate response was overwhelmingly positive. Those who attended the show in person, like mogul Nina Garcia, sang his praises. However, once more people began to catch wind of his show, they did not find use of faux locs endearing or fashion forward, they found it repulsive. To make matters worse, Jacobs seemed completely oblivious to the fact that dreadlocs were a style typically worn by the black community because of the texture of their hair and its roots in Rastafarianism.
Instead, Jacobs' hairstylist for the show told Harper's Bazaar, that the locs were inspired by "certain types cultures, like rave culture, club culture, acid house, Boy George and Marilyn."
And to The Cut he confessed, "The interesting thing about Marc is how he takes something so street and so raw, and because of the coloration of the hair and the makeup, it becomes a total look. Something that we’ve bypassed on the street and not really looked at, or seen a million times, he makes us look at it again in a much more sophisticated and fashionable way."
This is cultural appropriation in a nutshell. The fact that the style is even viewed as "street," and then is magically "high fashion,"  when placed on a runway by Marc Jacobs, a white designer, who by the way is not "street" at all. (Just compare this to the time Zendaya wore faux locs on an award show runway and Giuliana Racnic joked that she looked like she smelled like week.)
Jacobs continued to dig himself deeper into a hole while responding to the backlash his show was receiving.
"Funny how you don't criticize women of color for straightening their hair,"
he retorted. I don't see color or race, I see people."
(I am not sure about you but I've had quite enough of the "color blind" rhetoric as a defense for any type of behavior.)
His comments spared major discussions about what cultural appropriation is and whether or not we "should" be bothered by it. The majority of the arguments for Jacobs can pretty much be summed up into the following categories:
"But it's just fashion! (insert makeup, TV, a movie, etc here) It doesn't even mean anything."
"But there are SO many other important issues to talk about! Black people are dying! Y'all are worried about the wrong things."
"But women of color (aka black women) do it too! They straighten their hair and wear blonde weave!"
"But Marc used black models in his show! It can't possibly be appropriation then!"
In my opinion, these comments do nothing more than further isolate and discriminate against the black community, whose style is being appropriated.
To start, it's extremely dismissive to dictate what someone should or should not be worried about. This act ignores the fact that there are numerous black designers, artists, people who may have faced discrimination for their own natural hairstyles, like locs and therefore would feel some type of way, for lack of better words, when seeing something like Jacobs' SS17 show.
Furthermore, to even try to assert that black women are in any way, shape, or form appropriating by wearing straight hair is nothing short of infuriating.
Popular beauty blogger, Jackie Aina, communicated the irony quite eloquently on her Instagram page.
At the end of the day, people can care about whatever they want to care about. And, news flash, people can care about multiple issues at the same time. I can care about Marc Jacobs' SS17 show while still caring about the Flint Water Crisis or Black Lives Matter (both of which Jacobs has never spoken about BTW)
What grinds my gears the most is that instead of being truly apologetic and trying to understand where a certain community is coming from, many accused of cultural appropriation are quick to get defensive and continue to carry on with their offensive behavior.
At it's core, Jacobs' blatant insensitivity adds insult to injury in a world where many black women simply cannot be as "carefree" and "fun," as the women he sent down his runway wearing locs. They cannot simply exist as their authentic selves without receiving some type of heat or backlash. As stated previously, even Zendaya, CoverGirl's latest poster woman cannot escape the demeaning critiques. Scores of black women have literally been discriminated against, turned away from job, and suspended from school...just. because. of. their. natural. hair.
If you truly want to understand cultural appropriation, it starts with having an open mind. It starts with getting out out of your own bubble and being open to learning. Because the fact of the matter is, there are so many communities across the world that have gone through years and years of suffering due to seemingly trivial things like hair, or body type, or the color of their skin (sounds crazy when you think about it, but racism is alive and well in 2016.)
How would you feel if someone took the attributes that society has discriminated and ridiculed you for and turned them into a "trend?"
Edit: Shortly after this article was published, " The 3-0 decision Thursday by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed a lawsuit brought by the Equal Employment Commission against a company that refused to hire a black woman because she wouldn't cut her dreadlocks." - WSJ
Coincidence? I think not.

Birds of Prey Trailer Breakdown: 10 Reveals From The Teaser
Tumblr media
Here are the biggest reveals from the first teaser trailer for Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Following her breakout status after 2016's Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie finally is returning to the screen as Harley Quinn. Warner Bros. and DC Films developed several different potential films for Robbie to star in, but it was Birds of Prey that she took a particular interest in and pushed to make.
The movie is directed by Cathy Yan based on a script by Christina Hodson and will make Harley the central character. However, it will introduce several other notable DC characters along the way. Surprisingly, fans have already received a quick look at most of them through an early piece of marketing. WB and DC kicked off production on Birds of Prey with a short video highlighting the looks of the different cast members.

Other than that video and some set photos though, the marketing campaign for Birds of Prey is only just now beginning. Now, with its February 2020 release date closing in, the first teaser trailer has released. Unfortunately, not only is the teaser incredibly short - running only about 40 seconds - it's only available to see in theaters and won't be released online. Since not everyone may go see IT Chapter Two in theaters, here's everything that the Birds of Prey teaser revealed.
WB/DC Get An IT-Themed Intro
Tumblr media
From the very beginning of the Birds of Prey teaser, viewers may be confused over what WB property this trailer is for. One red balloon appears and then two pop up together before a whole bunch of them cover the screen. The red balloons have become a staple of WB's horror franchise IT and the visual parallels are clear. If they weren't, then the use of the creepy IT theme music as the logos roll make it even more clear. Viewers may at first think this is a surprise trailer for another IT movie before the DC logo is shown, and that may continue as what appears to be the silhouette of Pennywise lurks in the background.
Harley Is Over Clowns
Tumblr media
As the Birds of Prey trailer continues to unfold though, DC fans will be pleased to see that it is Harley Quinn - and not Pennywise - who fully emerges on the screen. She smashes two of the red balloons with her big mallet and declares that "I'm so f****** over clowns." This is a clever play on the IT themed start of the trailer but is a direct callout to Harley moving on from the Clown Prince of Crime, the Joker. Despite being freed from Belle Reve prison by Joker at the end of Suicide Squad, Harley has moved on. She's crossed his name off of her tattooed body based on set photos. All of this plays into her emancipation from him, hence the movie's ridiculous subtitle.
Huntress In Action
Tumblr media
The first new cast member to make into the Birds of Prey trailer is Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Huntress. The daughter of a mafia family has turned to the vigilante lifestyle. It appears to be her on the motorcycle weaving through traffic, and the best look at Huntress comes when she takes off her hoodie. But, then cutting to her in action, the teaser gives us just a glimpse of her firing her crossbow. This kicks off a series of title cards that read "Prey for Gotham," which further confirms the film's setting in Batman's city.
Black Canary Alleyway Fight
Tumblr media
The Birds of Prey trailer then introduces us to Black Canary, played by Jurnee Smollett-Bell. She's shown walking through an alley and taking a peek at what is behind her. The teaser cuts to her kicking some guy in the middle of his chest. It is unclear if Canary returns to kick his butt after an initial encounter, or if the previous shot actually comes after the fight sequence and is her admiring her own work. Either way, Canary quickly makes an impact, even without the use of her Canary Cry.
Canary Sings For Black Mask
Tumblr media
That's not all the Birds of Prey trailer shows of Canary though, as she puts her vocals to use for entertainment purposes instead. After the first glimpse of Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis aka Black Mask, another shot of him includes Canary singing on stage. She's clearly performing for the people at this decadent club that is covered in gold. Considering the giant statues of black hands and Roman's enjoyment of the music, this could even be his club that she's performing in.
Cassandra Cain Hides During A Fight
Tumblr media
The trailer then quickly teases the inclusion of Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. A deadly assassin in the pages of DC Comics, Birds of Prey may be taking a different approach to her. She is not expected to be Batgirl or dawn any other superhero title during the movie, with rumors instead teasing that she is central to the plot and the female heroes are going to protect her. Cassandra is hiding as some action happens nearby, and the trailer then looks to reveal who is responsible.
Harley & Canary Take On Goons
Tumblr media
Based on the objects and action happening near Cassandra, the next few shots appear to confirm that Harley is the one who is protecting her. Harley is standing in the middle of a room when someone draws a knife on her. The trailer then cuts to her throwing her mallet towards an oncoming masked goon (possibly one of Black Mask's guys) and knocking him out. But, it also appears that Black Canary is fighting with Harley in this sequence too. Someone ducks out of the way of the flying mallet and based on the brunette with blonde highlights hairstyle, that looks to be Canary. Maybe this is their first time working together and the start of their Birds of Prey team.
Renee Montoya Gets Involved
Tumblr media
The last major cast member to appear in the trailer is Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. The Gotham detective has become the vigilante the Question in DC Comics, and she appears to be well on her way to that status in Birds of Prey. She's first seen standing side-by-side with Black Canary and Huntress, and then we see a brief shot of Renee fighting. She punches someone with bloody results, possibly as a result of her brass knuckles.
Huntress' Mask Revealed?
Tumblr media
The team-up shot of Renee Montoya, Black Canary, and Huntress in the Birds of Prey trailer may also reveal an exciting revelation for comic book fans. It isn't the cleanest look, but Huntress does appear to be wearing a variation of her comic book mask. It is difficult to tell how comic book accurate the mask is, but the important thing here is that she's wearing one at all. And regardless of how it looks, this could just be the first iteration of her mask for all we know.
Harley's Hyenas Confirmed
Tumblr media
The last shot of the Birds of Prey teaser is Harley riding in a car eating, but it will be what is next to Harley that is important. There are two animals with collars sitting next to her as she travels, which is an obvious tease that Harley's pet hyenas will be included in the film. Their names are Bud and Lou and are incredibly loyal to Harley's commands. Now that they're set to be seen in Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), fans will undoubtedly be left wondering if they will get in on the action in some way.
