Eragatory / Isaie Bloch *1986, Ghent, Belgium Lives and works in London, UK Isaïe Bloch is a Belgian architect and founder of Eragatory which is a creative company with a focus on design for 3D printing and Creative fabrication. Isaïe’s ongoing research and design ambitions within the plastic arts, fashion and design are focused on the correlation between craftsmanship and Additive manufacturing. Using digital tools as a new set of utensils within the arts and architecture, his designs always focus on the geometrical capacities of what digital fabrication techniques and digital tooling have to offer. Not because it is a new medium but because it offers him a very specific set of geometry to work with. Currently lecturing Graduate Architectural design at the Bartlett UCL and Unit 6 Degree studio in UEL, London UK; he is working under his own label "Eragatory". Isaie Bloch has been collaborating together with a wide range of customers and Artists, like Iris van Herpen in the design and production of 3D printed sculptures, products and haute Couture. BRAND COMPETITORS-
THE SEASON HATS-
When researching into hats as that is essentially what we are making - you have to think where would it make a statement and then it came to me on the catwalk?
So researching into contemporary/luxury brand that supply fashion catwalk shows with there accessories of hats which is when I came across the season hats ‘Beautifully high-fashion with a desirable minimalism, The Season Hats has a unique style which offers refined design combined with wearability. An engineered yet playful approach works with each material’s properties and integrates materials in innovative ways. Launched in 2015, The Season Hats is a new millinery brand fulfilling the headwear needs of the modern International wardrobe with Intelligent Elegant Hats.
The collections range from androgynous casualwear, though contemporary leather headwear to our signature foldable event pieces: each with The Season Hats’ engineered luxury.
Owned and run by husband and wife team, Paul Stafford is the Designer, with Selina Horshi the contact for buying and marketing.
Paul holds an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge (where he and Selina first met), which is the basis for his scientific and engineered approach to construction. He trained in traditional technique under couture milliner Rachel Trevor-Morgan, milliner to HRH The Queen. During his MA in Fashion Womenswear (Millinery), from the Royal College of Art in London, Paul refined his approach to design, how he works with materials, and defining his softly geometric aesthetic. Paul’s past design roles include working in perfume bottle design for Thierry Mugler in Paris, and designing hats for Misa Harada. Collaborations and freelance work has been undertaken for Yiqing Yin (Paris Couture Week) and Steffie Christiaens (Paris Fashion Week). He has exhibited at Fashion Space Gallery and in ShowCabinet, the exhibition space of ShowStudio.
With international appeal and stockists, The Season Hats have been photographed for Vogue Italia, Vogue India, L’Officiel Thailand, Schon, Kaltblut, The Protagonist Magazine, The Telegraph, Hong Kong Tatler, Irish Tatler and Tatler Singapore amongst many others. The Season Hats exhibit at Premiere Classe in Paris and are delighted to be showing at London Fashion Week as part of the BFC’s Headonism Initiative.’
I feel our hat would be perfect for this also with a campaign and combining with a fashion designer etc on a catwalk show - to make a statement and showcase the campaign and meaning behind the product and the branding this would really make Boars Nest stand out and represent what it is trying to do this is why The Season Hats are a competitor. I am going to research further into the idea of having the hats on the luxury catwalks and what competitors it has here.  As they are so contemporary they would have to be placed somewhere like this. However in regards to the sustainability aspect this is reusing the old hard hats and re vamping them for a meaning and being contemporary and out there for the new current trends potentially combing with a sustainable designer maybe to enhance this aspect?

Maison Martin Margiela's SHOWcabinet exhibition is centred around memory. It explores the pivotal role of scent in triggering reminiscence and features Margiela's Replica range of fragrances. Opening 28 November, Margiela and SHOWstudio have created an installation to examine this olfactory manner of recollection. As part of the exhibition, a collection of illustrators were asked to create an original drawing that depicts a personal memory prompted by one of the Maison's Replica perfumes. The artworks are exhibited in a bespoke display case mimicking the installation of relics in museums. Instead of tracing a history through tangible objects, these drawings are ethereal traces of moments past. Accompanying the drawings will be a perfume bar to sample the scents, a selection of haute couture pieces and selected objects from Line 13 associated with the concept of memory. The artists featured in the exhibition are Richard Gray, Piet Paris, Cathrine Raben Davidsen, Laura Laine, Claire Barrow, Tobie Giddio, Valerie Servais, Kukula, Rei Nadal, Tara Dougans, Amelie Hegardt, Helen Bullock, Fiona Gourlay, Stephen Doherty, Jowy Maasdamme, Josie Hall, Conrad Roset, Quentin Jones, Jo Ratcliffe, Neza Agnes Momirski, Alexandra Levasseur
