post-finale headcanons

fenris gives veah so many piggyback (wolf back?) rides with his new gift from bruin

oscar breaks the nature fam curse and becomes pretty damn good at elytra flying. violet swears that it's because of his genes. kai teases him to no end when it turns out the only kid that actually has his genes ends up just as bad in the air as her mother.

elysium never has floating buildings like the aether did, but eventually its ground becomes covered in plant life from all the realms, starting from the portal and gradually spreading outward

momboo has a workshop in elysium where she develops new plants for all four realms

violet, who keeps a mental catalogue of all his scars, is very thrown off by not knowing where three of them come from (and apparently not caring about that until now?)

malitae spoils veah like no tomorrow; fenris needs to keep expanding her closet to keep up. it's not truly a visit from M until veah runs into the room wearing a new dress and yelling "Papa, Daddy, look at me spin! :D"

there have been multiple times that a new hire to the Seaside school has had to be sat down and told by their colleagues, "yes, there are three gods on that kid's emergency contact form. no, this is not a hazing prank."

while with the new portals, the living can come and go from elysium as they please, the dead cannot leave it. there is still a permanent consequence to death.

branching off that, when Ari does eventually die, it takes her a bit to notice. she just continues curating the records as usual. it isn't until she tries to make a visit to the overworld and can't that she realizes and goes "well shit, guess i gotta make a date spot in here instead :/"

We all love Ben for being there for the HoBw at the end of game despite all your choices, good or bad, including not executing a man who humiliated and murdered one of the only father figures he has left in front of an entire kingdom. In front of him. (I say 'one of' because I always felt Walter was somewhat of a father figure to him as well, but that's more headcanon than anything and a talk for another day.) But despite being praised, I feel it's not often talked about the exact reason why he does this. Does he obviously care deeply about the HoBw? Yes, without a doubt. You can tell they share a close relationship in the game and are important to each other, that's no secret. And I do believe that that, along with Ben being a deeply loyal person, is the major reason. But, I also feel like the underlying reason is more often than not ignored. Ben empathizes with the Hobw. He's, probably, the only person in that throne room who truly feels and understands their pain. Ben had 3 brothers whom he loved greatly, but also knew were questionably bad people. He knew that they were criminals who were led down dark paths consisting of multiple bad choices and more than shaky morals that ultimately led to their demise. But he loved them anyway. They were his family, his world, and he mourned each of them greatly when they passed. So he gets it. He gets that sometimes...things are simply more complicated than good or bad, especially when it comes to family, and despite his anger and his wish to see Logan pay for what he did to Swift, he also doesn't want his best friend, someone who he probably considers family as well at this point, to go through what he did; to mourn the loss of someone who, if things had been different, could have been an amazing person and brother. Good Kid from The Lightning Thief but its actually Icarus Morningstar

dear people of the fable side of tumblr. i have finally decided to stop procrastinating and share with you my "good kid from the lightning thief musical is so very Icarus coded" agenda. all of the lyrics are so incredibly them coded and i have been spinning this agenda in my brain for quite a long time now. heres some examples: - the very very obvious one "But no one ever will take my side All I ever do is take the fall". like???? falling? noone taking their side??? cmon now - "I never try to do anything, I never mean to hurt anyone, I try, I try to be a good kid, A good kid, A good son" like. theyre literally on their quest to fix everything. theyre so guilty about what theyve done. theyve hurt a lot of people and they know that, theyre guilty about it. now that they have their dad back, theyre trying to impress him, trying to get his approval. trying to be a good son. - "But no one ever will take my side, All I ever do is take the fall, I swear, I swear that I'm a good kid, Guess I'm good for nothing at all" these lyrics repeat a little to the previous ones, but hear me out. theyve been trying to fix their mistakes. after everything that happened with Momboo, they gave into the mindset of 'maybe this is all i was ever meant to be', which fits the lyrics "i guess im good for nothing at all" so well. - "All the schools in six years, Every battle, everyday, No one ever tells me that they're proud, No one asks me 'Percy, how'd you like to come round and stay?' " ahh. this. this is them going through the resets, something bad happening every time. wheather its them failing someone, someone failing them, them falling, so many possibilities. and i mean, the line "no one ever tells me that theyre proud" thats literally all they want. they want someone to be proud of them. someone giving them approval. thats all they want. they want to be finally accepted by someone and just live a normal life. - "I never meant to hurt anyone, I swear, I swear that I'm a good kid, A good kid, who's had a bad run. And all I need is one last chance, To prove I'm good enough for someone" this. they have hurt many people, they never truly mean it. hurt Athena, hurt Haley, hurt Momboo, hurt Rae. they want to be good, but they seem to always fail. the 2nd line is literally them when Fable told them about his plan. that they have a chance at fixing their mistakes, proving they can be good. i will not shut up about this song and how Ic coded it is. and also its just a really good song and i like it a lot. since i dont have a person to ramble to, yall get the thoughts. now i come back to the void, have a good timezone everyone

the way, after and during the book, Icarus is crying. Something they don't do - it's a thing I've noticed for a bit that Icarus just. Doesn't cry as often as a lot of others. And when they do, often it's quieter. You can't tell as easily that they're crying unless you listen for the way their voice shakes - and this time, when they do, it's not really in the cathartic way they need it to be. It's not the "finally spill everything and just break and fall and let Rae catch them" cry they need to have at some point. It's just. It's just an upset cry. It's just an utterly upset and miserable cry, and there's something to be said about that. (Icarus doesn't cry talking to Rae. At least, not in any noticeable way. Icarus doesn't ramble about everything while talking to Rae - they wait until they're alone. They always wait until they're alone, don't they?)
