In log home building, a "sick" log refers to a log that has been either struck by lightning or affected by the environment in some way. This Western Redcedar log was struck by lightning and continued to grow, creating the beautiful, twisted layers of exposed sapwood and cambium. These repurposed logs make incredible feature posts inside a log home or log cabin.
