come to think of it, yaevinn started expressing his anger more at around the same time as he started actually making an effort to keep himself alive in combat... the moment he started to realize that his life is worth something and that it's at risk of being snuffed out, the moment he realized how many times he's been cornered, how he's STILL cornered, he got angrier and became less and less likely to take shit. even when it was perceived; even from his partner (these two things happened together at the same time, yaevinn was already upset and nithral was just making sure he didn't. fuckin waltz off to his death).

I thought about leaving a comment on ao3 instead but I realized it just applied to too many of your fics so I just figured I'd send an ask instead :) I really love your shikiaki fics a LOT. The characterizations feel so accurate- not too much on the "sadistic shiki" side but certainly not without that element either. The interactions are always so fluid and feel so realistic, like I could really imagine them happening in the visual novel(/manga/whatever). I've told you before that I love your takes on Shiki and Akira, but it really shines through in your writing. Additionally, I'm really glad you reuploaded the Lamento Convenience AU! I know you said you weren't happy with it in your notes, but I think you're definitely your worst critic. It's amazing, and I hope you revisit it again, if you don't just rewrite it altogether! Honestly, it's hard finding stuff that I like reading because I feel a lot of people kind of lean too much into pushing these characters into archetypes and tropes. Which I get! But I really like how you don't do that, at least nowhere near as intentionally. You don't write Akira as a one-dimensional tsundere (or stockholm victim, or anything like that), and you don't totally reduce Shiki to his sadism or ego. It's really refreshing. I especially love your ED3 fics, but honestly... it's all really good... I hope you write more soon! - suraiiburu

Thank you so much for reading my Shikiaki fics... I'm so glad to hear that you feel that their characterizations are natural and accurate because that's what I always strive to achieve in my writing. I love Shiki's sadistic side but I also love his soft side, so I enjoy writing a balance between those two aspects. I'm also glad to hear that the way I write their interactions matches how their dynamic is like in canon... I love their canon dynamic so much, and I always try to emulate it in my writing. 🥰

😭😭😭 My Convenience Lamento AU fic embarrasses me so much, but thank you for liking it!!! I feel like I was overly self-indulgent with it (wanting to see Shiki being soft with Akira + referencing an obscure drama CD that barely anyone in this fandom knows about), so I assumed nobody would be interested in reading it lol. I'm thinking about writing the final chapter for it because one of my friends really loves the fic, but I still want to write a longer fic based on the AU (idk I just want domestic Shikiaki fluff centering on their daily lives...)

It really means a lot to me that you feel like I don't write the characters too tropey or one-dimensional! 🥰 Yeah, one of my biggest pet peeves in the fandom is how Akira's character gets reduced to just being a tsundere when he doesn't come across that way at all (excluding Motomi's route where it's obvious they were trying to make Akira a tsundere on purpose to make the Motomi/Akira dynamic work). It feels like people equate being a tsundere to having low emotional intelligence, when it's not the same at all. One is an anime trope and the other is an actual human trait that can be attributed to a lot of developmental factors. I honestly feel like Akira's characterization was the strongest (and most nuanced) at the beginning, and then it got watered down as the story went on lol.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of people just think of Shiki as that "evil big bro" who is obsessed with power and commits rape and murder because it makes him feel strong... which just misses the point of his character completely lol. His biggest appeal for me is in how he pushes Akira to grow as a character and acknowledges Akira's traits/will as a human being. I don't think that aspect of Shiki's character contradicts with his more immoral traits; Shiki's insecurity makes him ruthlessly pursue Nano without caring about the consequences, but at the same time, his insecurity is what makes him acknowledge and admire Akira for his fearlessness/strong will. There's nuance to Shiki's character, and his "good" side doesn't outshine or erase his "bad" side; they coexist to form his character while managing to remain narratively consistent with his backstory.

My ED3 fics are just plain horny I'm sorry LMAO but I'm glad you like them wah!!! 😭❤️❤️❤️ I just got back from vacation so I'll definitely resume writing. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me... it makes me so happy that my writing feels nuanced for you and not overly tropey. Your feedback is super reassuring because I always get worried that my writing might come across as tropey (it's why I get anxious about writing Shikiaki fluff even though I adore fluff). I personally dislike it when characters get flanderized or reduced to specific character traits/only react or behave in one way, so I'm happy to hear that the way I write Shikiaki feels realistic and in line with canon.

this might be a bit (a lot) big because I just finished my run through of next door and cat page after so long of neglect due to school, so here's your warning for that!!

I'll begin with cat page because I'm excited ashdjam I'm not even going to lie one of the first reasons I put a hold on my reading of it was because the thought of hating cats hurt my heart in many ways and I wasn't prepared for it (even if it would pass and it wasn't anything too evil aaaahasjje) but haerin being petty in the latest chapters had me laughing so much it got me excited to go back to reading cat page as soon as I could!

it makes me cackle so much how cp!yn changed completely because of a crush hahahakshaksj although definitely not in an extreme case like hating cats I too have changed my ways to please a crush in the past and it's so funny seeing this from an outsider perspective I'm loving it (also please don't ever change yourself for someone else unless it's actually a bad habit because people should love you from who you are)

also a bit of a side note but everytime hyein is the younger sister it feels like she's either too stressed or being pulled into complicated stuff that it's none of her business I never know if I should laugh or be concerned tbh 😭😭

Pandora Hearts 15th Anniversary Museum

I went to the Pandora Hearts museum the other day and even though I don’t think about the series any more now, it brings back so much memory because it was the first manga I ever got into.

It is called a museum but the venue is rather small, more like an art gallery. Because of Corona, they only allow about 20 people at the same time, and you will have to win a lottery to go in the first few days, aka the busiest day.

The inside is beautiful. There is a greeting from Jun at the entrance and each character featured this time has their own little “corner” that showcase their introductions, their remarkable scenes, and special comments Jun wrote for them. (I took a lot of pictures but bcause of Tumblr’s limit, am just going to share a few of them)

Walking inside, there are the standees of all the anniversary art that you can take photos with.

On the left side is a board Q&A board with Jun, and it has her hand drawing on some of the questions which is really cute xD The content of the Q&A is included in the “Usui hon” that are sold in the museum shop.

And of course, more beautiful arts.

There are also Jack, Vincent and Gil on the floor. While Vincent’s one says “feel free to step on me”, Gil’s is like “if you are going to step on Vince, then step on me instead!” 🤣 So cute <3

I tried my luck with the random items too and didn’t get Leo or Elliot as I hoped but all of them are so cute 🥰

My favourite item from the shop must be this “usui hon” which translates into “thin book” in Japanese but it is packed with information, interviews and illustrations. There is even a page where Jun sketches out everyone preparing their outfit for this 15th anniversary.

Another wholesome activity in the museum this time is that you can listen to nine letters that Oz wrote to each character at the venue, if you purchase the voice guide service. And when you buy the goods from the shop, for every 2000 yen you will receive a random bonus card showing each character’s reaction when they get the letter (and one Oz’s reaction when they write back to him too).

The contents of the letters are also printed in the usui hon and all of them are so lovely and endearing and packed with Oz’s feelings to each of the characters that I feel like crying reading them TvT

And I know I’m not allowed to do this, but let me just put the translation of Oz’s letter to Gil here, just so you can get an idea of how nice it is… And if you are interested in the other letters I would be so happy if you buy the actual book. It is very cheap for its quality (about $15 - shipping not included) and I will gladly help you get it from the museum if you want to.

Chifuyu has a lil bit of a geeky/boyish side that he tries to suppress so he can be “cool” for you. But oh man, once he finds out you ACTUALLY LIKE video games and stuff too?! Pls he’s so excited and definitely wants to know your favourites and all about them. Would show you his gaming and manga collection- pls he’s excited, be excited w him he’s precious. Gaming marathons? Check! Chill rainy days binge reading mangas? Absolutely!. This boy is so happy that you enjoy that stuff, pls, look after him. Making cute little notes to put in his lunch? Popped into his uniform pockets? Mikey didn’t think he could love you anymore than he already did, but he was wrong. His heart squeezed and his cheeks felt warm. Somedays, you and mikey would spend the majority of the day communicating solely through memes or vine references. Please imagine gaming spa dates with chifuyu, and peke j of course. Fuyu would let you make a lil pony tail out of his fringe so it’s not on his face, already adorable. Put on his facemask for him, there’s no way he’s going to be able to apply it without A. Him getting it everywhere or in his eyes, Or B. Breaking it if it’s one of those sheet masks. Even if he might be incapable of putting on his own, let him put of yours! Pls! He would be extra careful, putting on your headband carefully making sure not to hurt you at all. After he’s sure your hair is out the way, he’ll get to putting your mask of choice on. He takes his time as to not mess it up. Once you’re all masked up, you know there is a lil kitty friendly headband for peke j, pls give pets and treats before you and chifuyu start playing your game.

Mikey would want you to ✨bedazzle ✨ his nails. He’s surprisingly bossy about it though, this colour,that colour, this design, not that design. He’d sit watching you paint and draw on his nails in awe while he snacks on some treats. Is the type to keep snatching his hand away from you to look at the nail you’ve JUST finished. He’d probably mess it up a few times, great way to practice for fidgety future clients. For real though, he loves to be pampered so he would let you do them whenever. Also a huge fan of having his skincare done while you watch movies with snacks and cuddles. He straight up asks you to do the skincare routine for him every morning and evening. You’ll have no peace with mikey wanting everyday to be spa day. Mitsuya would probably let you do anything to him, but this man would love getting a massage. Boy has a lot going on and he definitely gotta have some stress built up. BUT imagine doing Luna and mana’s nails one time when you came over to mitsuya’s place😩💓 they would absolutely adore having someone around to pamper them, giving them the cutest little nail designs and stuff skksjksjk.
