Thinking further about the SilverLink, given that it's demonstrably possible to upload any damn firmware you want onto the 24LC64 EEPROM, I bet I could do an evolution of the i68 project where the key matrix state->keypress event translation occurs inside a hacked cable -- y'know, by having it present as an HID keyboard and such. That could be a fun project.
#calculators#programming#my thoughts#idk maybe one to put on the long-term list of ideas#id probably like to build a breadboard mockup of a silverlink before trying it on the real deal#thatd make it much easier and safer to reprogram the eeprom during testing#i wonder how expensive tusb3410 microcontrollers are#*checks ebay*#not super expensive#i think all in all id probably end up spending like fifty dollars on parts#given that i have basically nothing at the moment#so not something im just gonna jump on but maybe one day

Another one of my most anticipated shows of the year is here. Tearmoon empire is a LN that always gets recommended for some good world and kingdom building and Iâm excited to see it animated

Similar set up to lastame last season in that both MCs want to change the situations that led to them being hated by their subjects, but unlike Pride, Mia Luna just doesnât want to die. She hasnât really changed yet đ also a lot more light hearted than lastame.

The potential for Miaâs growth is there though for sure. The way she treated Anne once she remembered how kind Anne had been to her in the past life for example.
Really bittersweet flashback there. The fact Anne kept coming to see her for years after her incarceration was really beautiful. She definitely deserves to be handmaid and to get to call the princess âMiaâ. Canât imagine thereâs a more loyal person in that palace.

Of course the other maids hating on Anne after that seemingly random promotion lol

Miaâs got a lot of work to do. Learning the ins and outs of politics and economics wonât be easy to do, but I believe in her.
Nice first episode, silverlink had an amazing run from 2019-â21 so hereâs to hoping they recapture that form
EDIT: ok the finance minister dude might give Anne a run for her money lol

The Clientele- I Am Not There Anymore (Merge Records)

I was extremely excited to hear about a new Clientele release, especially when I noticed that there were nineteen new songs!! They began recording it in 2019 and it is well worth the wait. I loved the âBluer Over Blueâ video (watch below), but what I did not know was that there were many short interludes throughout the album. Nevertheless; those short pieces are gorgeous mood setting masterpieces interspersed at just the right moments. Anyway, The Clientele are back, as a three piece again; Alasdair MacLean on vocals, guitars, tapes, beats, bouzouki, Mellotron, and organ; James Hornsey plays bass and piano; and Mark Keen on drums, percussion, piano, and celesta.Â
The album starts off with a whopping eight-minute jam, âFables of the Silverlink.â Youâll notice right off the bat; the strings kick in immediately. Beats, horns, many additional touches this time around. But still a gorgeous melody and Alasdairâs soft vocals that fans love. Despite its length, itâs a song that you wish wouldnât end. Â Next up, âRadial Bâ is the first of many beautiful interludes that carry this work of art. âGarden Eye Mantraâ is a slower, bluesy piece filled with delicate guitar that sort of meanders its way until a distortion of sound kicks in along with Alasdairâs rapid-fire vocals. âLady Greyâ is a bouncy, string-filled number. A gorgeous melody with nice piano touches. Â âDying in Mayâ is a rat-a-tat percussion battle with strings and shouting vocals. Itâs almost tribal sounding with a âTomorrow Never Knowsâ vibe, but with The Clienteleâs spin on it. See if you agree here: Â https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrG7DghQby8 Â Â
âConjuring Summer Inâ is a short, beautiful piano piece with the spoken word of non-Clientele Jessica Griffin that eventually lets the strings take over.  The first single, âBlue Over Blue, â is a faster battle between delicate and fuzzy spurts of guitar. Then the horns and strings swoop in until a seesaw organ takes over.  Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-YpCcy05OA  Up next, âRadial E,â by far my favorite interlude; solo, gorgeous piano. âClaire's Not Realâ is classic Clientele complete with intricate guitar work along with swirling strings. Check it out here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_r9NgWnPYo Â
Next up is âMy Childhood,â an eerie reading (courtesy of Griffin again) with psychotic strings rising and falling. âMy childhood is this familiar life which seems to be but is not.â This line pretty much sums up what this song is trying to get across. Definitely the most unusual piece on the album.  Track 13, âChalk Flowers,â is another softer beauty. Simple piano, strings, and Alasdairâs vocals. Possibly my favorite on this album. âHey Siobhanâ is another pretty song that expands with soaring harmonies.  With âStems of Anise,â the guitar takes center stage with an almost bossa nova rhythm section. Another bouncy gem that will cheer you up.  âThrough the Rosesâ slows things down a bit, but another amazing, dreamy pop song to add to their massive catalog.  Next up is âI Dreamed of You, Maria.â This is a horn-filled, rattling snare drum track filled with elaborate guitar work. Another beauty. The album ends with âThe Village Is Always on Fire.â Yes, the nineteenth track unfortunately brings this album to a close. It begins with a cinematic scene complete with more âMy ChildhoodâŠâ readings and then the strings pop in for a battle with the rhythm section, especially the snare. It eventually fades out and the sadness of the album ending sinks in.Â
Itâs best to capture the brilliance of this album by listening to it all in one sitting, maybe even with headphones if you can. Itâs also difficult to pull out one track without wanting to listen to more of this album. More great news, the band is embarking on a US tour later this summer in August. Hoping to catch them in Chicago to see how they will perform these new songs live. I think the first time I saw them was in Madison at High Noon Saloon in 2007 with Beach House opening. I ended up seeing them again there in 2010 with Field Music opening. (I did see them in Chicago at Schubaâs also, but who knows when that was.) The point Iâm making is that itâs been way too long since Iâve seen them live. Â ERIC EGGLESON

Now that I've calmed down from all the excitement of last night/this morning: it's very funny to me that a mass-produced product like the SilverLink could have a failure mode where it more-or-less just turns back into a development board. That's the sort of behavior you'd expect from a bespoke arduino-based automatic cat door you bought from a guy who builds them in his garage and sells them for cash under the table, not Texas fucking Instruments.
Who ships products with the default "waiting for firmware" fallback mode still enabled? Furthermore, who ships products with the default "waiting for firmware" fallback mode still enabled and then doesn't include the option to re-flash that firmware in any of their products?
Insane.
#my thoughts#calculators#none of their products besides the highly technical flasher utility meant for tusb3x10 development boards that is#which is absolutely not intended for end users or production tusb3410-based hardware

Finally after 4 years weâre back đ man life was so different when this show first aired.. peak pandemic eats. But after Sazane sensei last work, Godâs Games we play flopped, Iâm glad to have his main work back. We also have one more of his series getting an anime this season âwhy does nobody remember me in this worldâ so big season for him coming up.

As for the first ep back of kimisen, man I canât lie, I donât really remember any of this stuff and it feels like they threw us right back into things with the 3 royal families, the war between the sovereignty and empire, etc etc. All I really remember is that Alice and Iska had the Romeo and Juliet star crossed lovers thing going on and that her sister was sweet on iska too đ . A recap episode definitely wouldâve been nice.
Pacing just feels very fast, but I did enjoy seeing all the characters back, especially sisbel whose determination to not give up the throne or Iska to her sister was cute. Alice being all flustered in bed wondering what Sisbel and Iska were up to was also good. This manâs harem is expanding by the day. And itâs fitting the episode ends on a chance encounter between Alice and Iska just like s1.

Hopefully next episodeâs editing is a bit better and they take it slower. Had to pause and rewind several times to understand everything with the imposter and royal families.

I miss SilverLinkâs style for sure but if the banger of an OP is any indication, the fights this season should be awesome.
