Why is Izumi in a Cheongsam? Isn’t that Chinese dress?

It is! Honestly, I just had the CC downloaded for some reason or another and thought red and dragons yeah that's Fire Nation. Plus, it looked more fitting than the other dresses to me.

Kya is actually in the Sims 4 version of a sherwani (I think that's what it's supposed to be anyways) which is male indian attire.

I just liked the way the outfits looked for the characters. Feel free to change them if you download :)

The most interesting part was meshing the Chinese knot button, and the most disturbing part was adjusting the lace.

The first anniversary of my adventure as a cc creator sounded like a nice occasion to try and replicate one of my real-life chinese dresses :) I’m very happy I’m now able to make something exactly the way I want it, even if it’s nothing too complicated. Past me would be proud :)

Cultural Lookbook - Chinese

There are not enough cultural items in the Sims 4. It is by far the most diverse of all the sims games, but we need way more of it! Since I've joined the dark side and started downloading custom content, I've been amazed with what players have been able to create.

This lookbook is focused on a Chinese style of dress, the Cheongsam and/or Qipao.

Disclaimer: I am a white woman. If I used something culturally inappropriate/insensitive, please tell me so I can learn and grow (and update the lookbook.)  I never mean to stereotype or imply these are the only types of clothing people wear.

I’ve seen a lot of people looking for a cheongsam for teens, but unfortunately most are for adults. So, now that I kind of know how to convert clothes, here it (finally) is for teens! Issues - Cheongsam: some mesh stretching and clipping at the bottom when sims take long steps. The pregnant belly doesn’t look as nice as I wanted it to either, but this proved to be a finicky mesh and I avoided editing it further.

+ Both dresses for Teen females. + Both have all LODs and morphs, including maternity. + Cheongsam: Everyday, Formal, Career, Maternity. Disabled for Random. 3 presets: first 2 have 3 channels, last has 4 channels. The flower on preset #2 is not recolorable. + Babydoll: Everyday, Formal, Maternity. Making such a dress has always been my dream ever since I first saw @joliebean’s .:Pisha Dress:. Back then I never would have thought that I’d end up making cc... cut to months later and here we are :)
