Finished the first barn of the new save. This is just a small 3 stall Shedrow-style barn with a little feed/tack room area. Next I will be building the large center-isle main barn....at some point, lol. But i am pretty happy with how this turned out!

Got in some jump training with R&DR Crack a Cold One at the new barn.
Wait, what? New barn? Yes, NEW BARN! I've been gone due to renovations- actually, who am I kidding? It's destruction. We ripped everything down and rebuilt with all new layouts, features, and special additions. I'll be posting the photos of the transformations soon enough but for now let's just appreciate how adorable Scout is. <3

Plain Ol' Western Hitching Post
Is a simple hitching post too much to ask for?
Apparently, yes. I couldn't find one, so I edited two TS3 posts
Natural Rustic ^
Ranch ^
Plain Ol' Western Hitching Posts
I removed the trough, recolored the wood, and added slots
Each has 12 swatches
Rustic Hitching post has 4 medium and 4 small slots
Ranch Hitching Post has 7 medium and 7 small slots
You can find both by typing "APS" or "Ranch" in the search bar
DECO ONLY
Rustic Hitching Post DL: (sfs, free, no adfly/linkvertise)
Ranch Hitching Post DL: (sfs, free, no addfly/linkvertise)
You're free to do whatever you want with this as long as it doesn't break any of EA's rules. Basically: don't claim as your own and don't put behind any kind of paywall.
More pictures and links to the original conversions below the cut!!
( WCIF friendly)
Rustic
Ranch
Three small and medium slots for some practical deco
Seven small and medium slots for some.... semi-practical deco
Or not so practical deco...
The Rustic Hitching Post was converted to TS4 by Loree (and SG5150). You can find the original conversion here
The Ranch Hitching Post was converted to TS4 by SG5150 (and Loree). You can find the original here
The both converted the same objects. Idky I used from each. You don't need these for my edit to work.

WFS Big Barn Add-Ons for Horses - Updated
I added a Stable Door and a Horse Gate, which uses @littlemssam tuning for paddock gates. This means horses will stay in the paddock/stable if not mounted.
You will need the original file from LMS for this to work.
The rest of the Big Barn Building set is found here. (With normal versions of these items, and more.)

Anyone know what furniture the mini-goats/sheep need? They don't have a house tied to them like chickens or cows so I'm at a loss.

in both sims 3 and 4 the bridles are bitless and i don't get why. it's got to be an animation issue, right? since the mouth moves but the bridle doesn't. but surely there must be a way to solve this. i can't see any reason other than a technical issue to not have bits.
also i looked more closely at some screenshots and got very excited when it seemed sims 4 will have vanilla halters, but then i looked and it seems like it's actually all halters and the "reins" only appear when a sim is riding a horse, as black lines.
which is a decent solution for allowing the reins to move with the sim, i suppose, but at the same time it feels like it's going to look weird for there to only be halters. the good thing is that sims 4 cc:ers are awesome and i bet there's going to be some great cc for this pack

The Soddy
A CC Free Prairie Homestead
Lot size: 40x30
Price: §37,341
Lot type: Residential
Location: Biscuit's Bastion, Chestnut Ridge
Homesteading and the settlement of the American west has always been a particular interest of mine and recently I've become very interested in sod houses! I toyed with the idea of recreating one in Sims but never had a good world or assets to work with. When I fell into my little building bender a few weeks ago I realized Chestnut Ridge was perfect for it and promptly hyperfixated.
This home is ideal for a couple or small family just trying to make their way in the prairie of Chestnut Ridge. The house can fit up to three sims and a baby or toddler, perhaps a bit snug for our modern standards but perfectly alright for the nineteenth century. Also comes complete with fertile fields, an empty chicken coop, a slightly decrepit horse barn, and a well stocked root cellar.
More info and download under the cut:
This house is heavily inspired by Prairie Homestead in South Dakota. When I started kicking around the idea of this build I started googling for reference photos and discovered this very cool historic site. I tried to match this build to its real life counterpart more than I usually do, as the interior that they have set up for that house was just so fun and unique feeling. The exterior is inspired by it, but sim lot constraints required more creative license. I highly recommend you look at some photos, it really is such an interesting place.
Sod houses, which were constructed by cutting hunks of the top layer of the grasslands (which were held together by the strong roots of the native grasses) were common throughout the latter part of the nineteenth century and began to peter out in the early part of the twentieth century. They weren't the most luxurious accommodations, but did have the virtue of being warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Unfortunately as the walls were made from the earth, bugs could be an issue and I've given this lot the creepy crawlies bug challenge for ~realism~. It's also off-the-grid, and has a functional root cellar (meaning I put the fridge down there, have fun in thunderstorms).
This lot is fully playtested (might have been the most I've played in a while actually, I wanted to make sure the crib worked). Please please enjoy this build. I know I always say it but this one is actually my favorite, and making this work with the constraints of Sims 4 terrain tools was quite the undertaking and I'm so pleased with it.
If you use it please tag me in any photos, I love seeing what y'all get up to with my builds!!

CC Show Rugs for Sims 4 Horses
🍂Introducing: SmartPak Luxe Collection🍂
My first attempt at CC! I'm so excited to be sharing these luxurious show rugs.
I've used @objuct's turnout blanket mesh to create two versions of show rugs for all your fancy horse needs!
More info and download links below-
There are two styles of rug available: a quilted and a wool version!
The quilted rug features simlish SmartPak labels and elastic straps, fluffy artificial fleece around the neck, and a leather front strap.
The wool rug features a rope piping border and hip ornaments, an artificial fleece neck, and a leather front strap. Feel free to customize with your own barn name!
This took way too much time and also my sanity while I was trying to learn how to blender. I have SO MUCH respect for all CC creators, especially the amazingly lovely and talented creators in the Sims 4 Horse community!
The cc used here is listed below:
