Caleb: [startled] Jesus Christ!

Vlad: [wryly] Guess again. I couldn’t help noticing you’ve acquired a new… houseguest. That girl is freshly turned. She has all the grace of a newborn colt. Your sister’s latest plaything, I presume?

Caleb: How many times have I told you I’m not interested in indulging your desire for gossip? Anyone with a modicum of social grace would have taken the hint by now.

Vlad: [continues, unruffled] The curious thing is I’ve seen her before, the girl, at your insipid little gathering of hedonists in the spring. Her cheeks were much rosier then, as I recall. I’m surprised Lilith offered her the dark gift so soon — or at all. Does she not expect to grow bored of this one? Or, I wonder, did something not go precisely according to plan?

Caleb: [defensively] Lilith didn’t turn her. She nearly killed her. I did it to save her life.

Vlad: [amused] Always the humanitarian, you — though it is strange you would choose to burden another with an existence you clearly detest. But I must admit I’m impressed. I wasn’t sure you had it in you. Frankly, I rather thought you’d be dead or driven to madness by now. [sighs stagily] At any rate, I wish you luck. If you’re hoping to raise her in your image, you’ll need it. I can’t imagine Lilith will surrender her easily. Alas, I must go. There are other matters-

Veronica: [snarls aggressively]

Caleb: Who are you?

Vlad: Manners, darling.

Veronica: Sorry, Uncle Vlad. My dinner almost got away from me.

Vlad: [strangely paternalistic] Isn’t she a marvel?

Caleb: Uncle Vlad?

Vlad: This is my niece, Veronica. Well, cousin several times removed, but that’s such a mouthful. I’ve been trying to introduce her for some time.

Caleb: I must have mistaken that for your usual garden variety creeping.

Vlad: We have a common ancestor in my maker, though the bloodlines diverged centuries ago and hers was thought to be quite diluted. You see, after generations of tamping down their vampiric nature, their powers had largely grown dormant. But Veronica is special. She tells me her dreams led her to me. Can you believe it? [chuckles] I haven’t dreamed since I was mortal. At any rate, I’ve taken her under my wing. I have much to teach her, and she is an eager pupil.

Caleb: Good… for you.

Meet Near Nocturne. You may know her.

(TW: Death, Missing)

Perhaps the reason Near likes the sound of rain is that she was born at a Convent in Windenburg on a rainy night. Her mother, who had a chronic illness, fell asleep very deeply after she finished giving birth, and her father went missing the year she turned 5. (Spoiler: He is now in Sixam)

Near was admitted to the Convent's nursery by a midwife who helped her at birth. She was adopted by a wealthy family within a year. But when she turned 18, while her foster parents were baking her birthday cake, the house caught fire and both her foster parents died.

The trauma of losing her family wasn't great, as she's used to the fast-changing environment. But she's still scared of fire.

Plus, she's a total narcissist.

Mr. Vasile is undoubtedly the classic vampire stereotype, born as such, without having been transformed, so the purest blood runs in his veins. Many will think that he spends his eternity filled with luxuries, but the reality is that he lives removed from most of society, even his peers, and only goes out when his hunger is stronger than his resistance. He lives retired in a small house that anyone could mistake for a ruin, devoured by vegetation and covered with creaking wood. However, his exile, strange as it may seem, is voluntary. Before the tragedy he used to be an acclaimed figure among vampire society, he had large networks of contacts since his knowledge is immense, Dorian took advantage of his eternity to hone his skills in any field. But his big mistake was love. He fell in love with a human, a human who was scared of his true form and ran away without knowing that he would be caught by Dorian's enemies, jealous of his knowledge. At that moment Dorian lost his great and only love and, although he has more than enough power to regenerate himself, he keeps the scar on his face as a memory of that moment.

Madeleine Thomson for @thebramblewood's Calling all vampires

I must admit that I have been reading your story anonymously for a while, and the truth is that I like it a lot, so I am excited to create a vampire for you since you are looking for extras.

Madeleine was turned into a vampire back in the 1950s by her lover at the time, Anna. It wasn't sudden; on the contrary, Madeleine asked for it because she wanted to be with her for life. At first, Anna didn't want to accept, but she eventually agreed, hoping that in the future, their relationship would be seen in a better light. They shared a true love and even planned to secretly marry. Unfortunately, one day they crossed paths with the wrong person, a vampire hunter who had been pursuing and suspecting them for several years. Anna protected Madeleine and gave her life for her so that she could escape from the vampire hunter. Madeleine managed to escape and hide in Forgotten Hollow, as she was told it would be safe or at least safer than other places. Madeleine settled there and lived a relatively peaceful life, although she always had the idea of avenging Anna against that vampire hunter. Now she is searching for him or any of his relatives, she will not rest until he or his family members have suffered as she has. Because of this event, she despises men and only feeds on them (the more she makes them suffer, the better). She will NEVER feed on a woman.

Vlad: I’ve heard you, girl. Your pleas have been relentless. But you seem incapable of hearing me when I tell you it’s a bad idea.

Lilith: You only say that because you’ve decided you hate him, though you’ve never once attempted to truly get to know him.

Vlad: How can you say I hate him when I’ve allowed him to stay? Mortals are immediately marked for death in this place — and yet he lives. Because he’s been under my protection.

Lilith: [rolls eyes] Oh, please. It’s hardly out of the kindness of your heart. You just know I wouldn’t stay without him. [in exasperation] Why not initiate the transfer? He wouldn’t be at risk anymore. He wouldn’t be your responsibility.

Vlad: If he were my fledgling, he’d be doubly my responsibility. He’s a soft boy, Lilith, timid, weak. This existence requires a degree of brutality he does not possess. He serves us better as a familiar.

Lilith: He knows precisely what it entails, and he still wants it. I’ll do it myself if I must.

Vlad: I can guarantee he’ll be unhappy — if he survives. Besides, I remain unconvinced you possess the discipline to-

Lilith: I won’t hurt him! I love him. [pleadingly] He understands me in a way no one else ever will. I need him by my side — forever.

Vlad: [amused] Is it him who wants it more or you? [resigned sigh] Well, I’ll hardly stand in your way if you wish to attempt it. But I’ll be curious to see if you’re singing the same tune after you’ve spent a century together — that is, if you succeed.

Lilith: It’s time.

Caleb: He tried to talk you out of it again.

Lilith: Of course he did. He envies the bond between us, even if he’ll never admit it. His jealousy eats away at him. But he’ll soon outgrow his use to us. We’ll be powerful together. Now, are you ready?

Caleb: [shakily] I’m ready.

Lilith: Don’t be nervous, brother. When you wake, eternity will stretch before you, and it will be beautiful. You trust me, don’t you?

Caleb: [murmurs noncommittally]

Lilith: When have I ever let you down?

Ji Ho's Therapy Game - Part 1

Oh! It seems Ji Ho is really Princess Jihovere! And she lives in a beautiful castle! In the princess' tower at that 🏰

She has a huge bathroom there! Anything a mermaid princess could wish for was there. Fluffy towels, scented essences and cute toys. (And it seems both, Jack and Ji Ho, have a way better ingame experience that poor Vlad ^^')

The Princess dressed and went up to the top of the tower to take a look around. Such a beautiful world!

Her next quest is to dine with the Queen! She's already awaiting the princess. (The dresscode in the castle seems to be mintgreen+white ^^')

Such an amazing castle! Ji Ho doesn't know where to look first! Ji Ho and Noxee hadn't much to do with each other in the past and since The Queen doesn't know Ji Ho ingame, it's even more intimidating.

Ji Ho doesn't even know if the Queen is a good or evil character. From what Ji Ho knows about fairytales is, that the Queen/Mother-in-law ist mostly evil and jealous of the younger and prettier princess ö.Ö' Maybe this therapy experience isn't as amazing as it seems? Plus: Lou mentioned that, after Prince Caleb and Princess Jihovere are married, The Queen will have to leave and Caleb will be King... Maybe marrying The Prince wasn't the challenge in this game but staying alive?

Ji Ho decided to adress it right away. This is just a game and he's determined to make good progress so he can finally dig out his buried feelings so he can love Vlad. Ji Ho: "Won't it be hard for you to retreat after Caleb becomes King?"

The Queen: "Oh my precious, don't you worry! This is just a constitutional monarchy here and we do not have any power. It's just for the show. To be honest: It's not that desireable to have the eyes of 'our subjects' on us all the time. They have more power over us than we over them ^^' Many are just lurking until we take a false step and: off the head! I can't wait to return to my own little queendom." The Queen sighed and looked a bit sad.

But soon she smiled again, the show must go on. She's a real pro. The Queen: "Let's finish our meal. There's still a lot to do before the wedding. You're from the Kingdom under the Sea and our habits are so different from yours. A lot to learn for you. We won't let you get roasted for not being an appropriate Queen for our King, right?" Ji Ho let out a nervous laugh: "Right, Your Royal Highness."

Princess Jihovere sat in the garden. It was calmingly quiet and so relaxing to just sit here in the sun, nothing was worrying him here. Ji Ho is determined to make the most of this experience and to cherish these reposeful moments after all the madness they had to go through. And who knows what lies in their future...

The Queen instructed the Princess to stitch a few loops. That's obviously still a valuable trait in the upper echolons of society here.

She was intrigued by the statue of a stunning man in the garden and decided to stich the beautiful face of him.

Princess Jihovere made good progress since Ji Ho enjoys stitching in the real world too.

The princess spent many hours in the garden stitching many loops of the beautiful statue. And she was very happy doing this. There's so much happening in their lives that they barely have time to sit down in peace and silence and create something just for the joy of it - and not to earn money. And the statue was so beautiful to look at. It had a very special (and oddly familiar) presence on Ji Ho. It was as if the statue was looking back at him. As if he wanted to tell him something. A real master of his art must have created it. And he must have had a very handsome model.

Meanwhile in the Throne Room, a very grumpy Throne Prince sat on the Throne. What's up with him? He's going to marry a beautiful princess!
