Complete all goals for each Survivor before moving to the next generation.

casual gameplay left up to chance!
do you, like me, find yourself playing in the same worlds over and over? playing the same careers? do you want to get out of your comfort zone? then try the dice roll challenge!
the rules? there are none, technically. all you need is a handful of dice (and what better excuse to buy some pretty dice? but google will do too) and a willingness not to micromanage.
i'm sure this isn't the first challenge of its kind, but it's what i've been doing in my spare time when i want a break from more rigid challenges (and if you like those kinds of challenges, my other two challenges are linked on my blog <3)
another important thing about this challenge is that you can customise it to your liking. these options are based off of the worlds and careers that i personally have in my game, and will become outdated as new packs are released. there are more than 20 worlds and careers, so i unfortunately can't fit them all, but if you want to swap things out, the world is your oyster!
worlds (d20):
Willow Creek
Oasis Springs
Newcrest
Windenburg
San Myshuno
Brindleton Bay
Del Sol Valley

additional obstacles:
Let the game randomise the name of your founder and all children born into the family. Their partner (if they have one) can be whoever you want
Use randomised traits in CAS

i've been working on this legacy challenge on and off for months now and it's finally here! i really made this because i wanted to play something like it. but i thought it'd be fun to share for anyone else who might be interested. if you do play, feel free to tag me. i would love to see your journeys 🥹 there are too many words for a tumblr post, so you'll have to check out the google doc. the general rules as well as a link to the "deck" and dice roller will be under the cut!
Click here for the Tarot Legacy Challenge
G E N E R A L R U L E S :
Start with a single founder in a new save.
Each generation follows the theme of a Major Arcana Tarot card, completing its unique goals and embracing the fate of the tarot card pulled.
Each heir must fulfill their generation’s goals before passing onto the next.
You may draw your Tarot card for the next generation when the first heir is born. You are welcome to choose any of your current heir’s children to be the next generation’s heir.
This challenge will include all packs so feel free to modify to fit your needs when necessary. This was created with Life & Death as the most recent expansion pack. As new packs release, you are more than welcome to modify the rules for the new content.
Play on any lifespan and with any mods or cheats you’d like– whatever makes the challenge more fun for you, have at it. Add any little twists that you’d like to spice up gameplay. If you want to use different traits/aspirations/careers than listed, go for it! Again, whatever you feel fits your playstyle best. Just try your best to stay aligned with the Tarot theme of that generation.
You can play as many or as few generations of this legacy challenge as you’d like. You don’t have to play all 22 generations. I would recommend a minimum of 5 just to make it a “legacy” – but follow your intuition 😌✨🔮

Anonymously Autonomous: an Autonomy Based Legacy Challenge
For The Sims 2, The Sims 3, and The Sims 4
Have you ever played an ISBI (I'm Surrounded by Idiots) legacy, or an asylum challenge? Was it something you enjoyed, but felt a little ick about the name, and the premise being that the sims you don't control are "insane," "crazy," "erratic," or just in some way just stupid? Well, you're not alone! The autonomy in these games isn't great, but can make for some really chaotic situations that you'd never get if you controlled every single sim most of the time, so it's fun to occasionally play a game where your sims are allowed to just be their little chaotic selves. And I want to help facilitate the chaos because maybe I'm a little bit of a Watcher of Mischief myself. If you're interested, keep reading!
Basic Concept
If you know the ISBI and Asylum challenges, you know the main premise: you can only control one sim in your household. In the ISBI Legacy, your founder will eventually "pass the torch" on to their heir, who will become the next sim you can control, and you will no longer be able to control your previous sim. It's very simple. There are other rules, and some versions even include the addition of points, but that's the basic idea.
For AAL (Anonymously Autonomous Legacy), at the bare bones, it's the same exact concept: one single sim you can control. But I decided to do something a little different with this, as well, because I didn't want this to be just a renaming of the ISBI. I want it to be its own thing. And what that thing is is:
Randomization.
The sim you can control will not necessarily be your founder or heir at all times. When you only control one sim, it will always be that sim you control, but once you have multiple sims in your household, after a set period of time you have to Spin a Wheel with all of your household's eligible sims on it to pick what sim you will control during the next set period of time. Sometimes, you will get the same sim multiple times in a row. Sometimes you might never even get to control your heir. It will all depend on the wheel (or dice roller, or number randomizer, whatever you wish).
Interested? Good!
General Rules (for Sims 2, 3, and 4)
Create a YA sim of your choice. If you are playing TS2, you may start either as a YA in university, or you may start as an adult to start their life right away. They can have any personality, likes/dislikes, turn ons/offs, whatever you want.
If you want to start off with randomization from the very beginning, give them a spouse, and spin the wheel to decide who you play as from the beginning.
Use whatever age span you want to for this. However, short might make this even more difficult that it already will be, so only use short if you want an extra challenge.
You may not use money cheats.
Move into a lot using whatever money your family has. You may not give them more money to build them a nice house.
Optional: Move them into the biggest lot in the game (whichever iteration you're playing), and do some lawn living. If they still have a lot of money, reduce their money in a way you see fit - remove it through cheats, or purchase a really expensive item that serves no practical purpose.
Next generation begins when the heir becomes a YA.
Non-heir children may stay in the family home however long you want.
Autonomy Randomization Rules
Once you have more than one sim in your household, you must decide on a specific timeframe in which to randomize who you will be allowed to control and how long you can control them.
An example of what I mean by this is if you have four sims in your household. Let's call them Matthew, Frankie, Shawn, and Sky. Matthew is the founder, Frankie his wife, Shawn a child, and Sky a toddler. You input their names in the wheel, and spin it. The wheel lands on Shawn's name, so for that entire week, he is the only one you are allowed to play.
When you have a sim chosen to be the only one you can control, that is the only sim you may select. You may not select other sims to check their inventory, to check their needs, etc. Their needs and everything are a mystery to you. If they genuinely seem to be stuck, you may reset them however your particular iteration allows you to do so.
You may use your own timeframe for selecting a random sim, but I have come up with my own in case you want to use one of mine.
Weekly Randomization: On Sunday at 8 am, spin the wheel. From that moment until the next Sunday at 8 am, you will control only that sim.
Seasonal Randomization: This is similar to the previous one, but if you play TS4 and play with 14 day or 28 day seasons or have some kind of mod or cheats to modify the length of your seasons. On the first day of the season at 8 am, spin the wheel. From that moment until the first day of the next season, you will control only that sim.
Yearly Randomization: If you want more time with a single sim, this one is for you. On the first day of Spring at 8 am, spin the wheel. From that moment through all of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, you will control only that sim. On the first day of the next Spring at 8 am, you will spin the wheel again.
Age Span Randomization: The next time your current sim ages up, spin the wheel. So if your founder starts as a YA, spin the wheel when they age up to adult. If the next sim is a child, you play them until they age up to teen, and so forth.
No Randomization: This is an option. If you only want to control your torch holders, you don't have to randomize who you control at all, you can just control your founder then heirs, as long as you only ever control one sim at a time.
Random Randomization: This one would be rather difficult to keep track of, but if you want to, you can use either a number randomizer, or a dicer roller, or some way, to pick how many days you will control your current sim. When you first start controlling a sim, you will roll to find out how many days you may control that sim. Once you move onto the next sim, roll once again to find out how long you will control that sim.
This is all of the timeframes I can come up with right now, but if you have any ideas feel free to message them to me!
Another rule about the randomization is that you may roll the same sim multiple times in a row. You may not remove your current sim from the wheel - whatever sim you get is the one you play.
The sim you control doesn't need to be related to your family. If they are a controllable sim in your household, you must put them on the wheel. If you move in your best friend? You may end up controlling them more often than your own sim.
Optional: If you are going to be posting your legacy on Simblr, or somewhere else, and want to really follow the "anonymous" part of this challenge, keep the sim you are controlling a secret from your viewers! See if they can guess which sim is being controlled, maybe have a poll every time before the next switch just for fun.
General and Iteration-Specific Rules
The first thing I'm going to talk about is what sims are eligible to be put on the wheel, depending on which game you are playing.
The Sims 2: The sims eligible for being the controllable sim are as follows: toddlers, children, teens, young adults (if you send them to university), adults, and elders. All occults/supernatural beings are also eligible, if they are in your household. If you use cheats to control babies or pets, you may also add them to the wheel.
The Sims 3: The sims eligible for being the controllable sim are as follows: babies, toddlers, children, teens, young adults, adults, elders, cats, dogs, and horses. All occults/supernatural beings are also eligible, if they are in your household.
The Sims 4: The sims eligible for being the controllable sim are as follows: infants, toddlers, children, teens, young adults, adults, and elders. All occults/supernatural beings are also eligible, if they are in your household. Also, if you use the mod that allows you to play pets, you may add them to the wheel as well.
You may play however you would normally play, except that you are only allowed to play one sim at a time.
Mods and CC are allowed. You may even use mods that improve autonomy if you so wish.
For any of the games, you may set things up to make life easier for you. For example, I suggest using the baby monitor in TS3 if you end up having to play as a baby - that way, you can use it to call attention to yourself if you are in need. For TS4, I suggest using MCCC to make more things autonomous, like gardening and repairing items. Things like that.
When controlling a sim, you may use their reward points to purchase things. Even if they are rewards that will help you greatly, nothing is off limits. Use whatever advantage you are given.
Nothing in the build/buy modes are off limits either. If you want sim death, feel free to build the horrors. If you want to keep as far away from death as you want, you don't even need an oven. It's up to your discretion.
Also, how do you choose an heir? You can choose an heir any way you choose. Whether you choose the one you like the most, have an heir poll, or use one of the Succession Laws from the official legacy challenge, any way you prefer is fine.
What is the Goal?
Your goal is to get to the 10th generation, and will end when the 10th generation's youngest child ages up to YA. You may play further than this if you please, but that is the main goal.
However, this is not as simple as you might thing, and that is why it is your only required goal.
Because you will (probably) be randomizing which sim you can control, it's not always going to easy to keep your heirs alive, or even find your heir a spouse/significant other to have children with. After all, if you can't control the heir, how can you find them someone to love?
You will have to use whatever sim you are allowed to play to your advantage. If you can't play your heir, use the sim you can play to bring eligible sims to the household to meet your heir.
Another reason that the goal is simple is because sims are not the brightest bulbs in the box, or the sharpest tool in the shed (I had to say it). Some of your unplayable sims might very well die to something silly, like eating too many jelly beans (TS3) or starving to death. Some babies, infants, toddlers, or children may be taken away by social services. Some pets might be taken away as well.
Optional: If you want a little extra challenge, you can add the generational goal that you have to try to complete your heir's LTW/aspiration before they die.
"What is the fail condition for this challenge?" You may be asking. There is exactly one fail condition: every sim related to your family in the household dies/is taken away. So, realistically, this challenge is very difficult to fail. If you only have one related sim left in the household but there are relatives out in the world and you want some insurance, feel free to bring the family back into the home. Whatever you can do to not fail? Do it.
And that's all I have for now! I haven't put together points or anything, or a score card, because I know people don't really play challenges for points anymore. But, if enough people want to play for points, I will add a scoresheet/scoring section.
If you have any questions, please message them to me or comment on this post, and I will answer your questions to the best of my ability!
If you decide to play this challenge, please tag it with #SimsAALC so that I can see it!

The Sims 4 Rainbow Legacy Challenge
Introduction
Welcome to this Rainbow Legacy Challenge! This is the first Sims challenge I’ve ever made and I’m excited to share it. Even if it never reaches an audience, I can still play the challenge for myself because I’m very proud of what I’ve put together.
I’ve taken some inspiration from the beloved Not So Berry Challenge by @lilsimsie, but workshopped it into something completely new. I’m sure there are plenty of rainbow challenges for The Sims online, but this is my personal take on it. I hope you like it!
I’ve made it a point to make this challenge accessible for everyone: for players that have some (or all) packs installed, and for those rocking with just the base game. I have marked everything that is DLC in color. The DLCs are optional and are not necessary for completing this challenge, but of course it adds much more depth to the story overall. Additionally, in numerous instances I’ve given you as the player options for choosing certain traits, careers or aspirations that are either DLC or base game.
I hope you enjoy the challenge as much as I enjoyed creating it. Thank you!
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
The Rules
Set the lifespan of your sims to either normal or long.
Cheats are (in most cases) not allowed. You may not cheat money at any point, but cheats like debug fixes, move objects and full edit mode in CAS are allowed. Also, I’ll allow gender cheats for babies if you really want to.
Start the first generation as a young adult.
Each generation represents a certain color of the rainbow, but the extent of which they represent the color (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing, interior and exterior design of their houses) is completely up to you. As long as they are still recognizable as representing certain colors, anything goes.
Each generation is fully completed when all bullet points are achieved (but don’t worry too much if you don’t fully complete everything in time).
Again: DLC traits, careers, aspirations and skills are optional. The challenge is fully playable with just the base game.
Last but not least: just have fun!
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Generation 1: Red
Red is the color of love, passion and lust, but also of danger and aggression. Fittingly for this first generation, you can choose which path to romance you will take: will you be a hot-headed heartstopper and enjoy all the love the world has to give, or will you find ‘The One’ that will fulfill all your desires and remain loyal to them, and only them?
'Besides the fact that you dream of finding luck in romance, you have always deeply loved music. As you gained fame from your musical career, you earned the reputation of the 'heartthrob musician'. And although you love the attention and fans fawning over you, you just want to find honest love. You dream of sitting on the porch of your home, watching the sunset with your lover and serenading them a song you wrote specially for them. It might take a couple tries to find 'The One', but you just know they're out there waiting for you.'
Traits: Romantic / Hot Headed / Music Lover
Career: Entertainment or Romance Consultant (LS)
Aspiration: Serial Romantic or Soulmate
Complete either the Serial Romantic or Soulmate aspiration
Reach level 10 in the Entertainment career in the Musician branch or the Romance Consultant career (LS) in either branch
Reach level 10 of the Charisma skill, Singing skill (CL) and Romance skill (LS) and at least level 8 of either the Guitar, Piano or Violin skill
Marry at least once
Write at least one song dedicated to your lover/spouse
Serenade your partner at least once a week
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Generation 2: Orange
Orange, the color of amusement, excitement, extraversion and energy.
'As you grew up you’ve developed a keen eye for seeing what others might need to cheer them up. Your solution? Funny jokes and good food can put anybody back in a good mood. While your passion lies with cooking, you never back down from social outings with your friends and you’d do anything to make sure they’re having a great time. You’re well known among friends and the rest of the community as outgoing, fun-loving and an excellent cook. And since they’re always nagging you about it, who knows, maybe you’ll even open up a restaurant or bakery someday.'
Traits: Goofball / Foodie / either Outgoing, Bro or Insider (GT)
Career: Culinary
Aspiration: Master Chef
Complete the Master Chef aspiration
Reach level 10 in the Culinary career in the Chef branch
Reach level 10 of the Cooking, Gourmet cooking and Baking skill (GTW) and at least level 8 of the Comedy skill
Have a social outing with your friends or club (GT) at least once a week
Optional: own a restaurant (DO) or bakery (GTW)
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Generation 3: Yellow
Ahhh, yellow. The color of sunshine and joy, but sometimes also of cowardice.
'Growing up, you often saw your parents have fun at social gatherings in and around your house. You reveled in the joyful atmosphere and always wanted to join in, even if it was well past your bedtime. As you got older, you wanted to be just like your parents and have lots of friends to do fun stuff with. Being a little impulsive and lacking any clear steering as to what career you wanted to pursue, you ended up at a boring 9-5 desk job at a local firm. Although it isn’t your ideal job, you’ll be damned if you don’t make it work!'
Traits: Ambitious / Cheerful / Clumsy
Career: Business or Law (DU)
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Complete the Friend of the World aspiration
Reach level 10 in either the Business or Law career (DU) in either branch
Reach level 10 of the Charisma and Mixology skills
Have frequent social outings with friends and take the opportunity to tend the bars at local clubs when there isn’t a bartender present
Have the following activities in your home for when you have company over: game table, dart board, chess table
Never decline calls from other sims asking if they can come over
Marry your Best Friend
Have at least 2 children
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Generation 4: Green
Green! The beautiful color of nature, healing, new beginnings and growth. Alternatively, it can also represent envy, jealousy, money and greed. In this generation, you can choose one of two paths for your sim (or alternatively, if your heir has brothers or sisters and you like a real challenge, give one sibling option A and the other option B. You may set the lifespan to long or pause aging for the duration of this if you really want to play both options).
Option A:
'During your youth you got all the love you could ever want from your parents: aside from their busy social and professional life, they still took enough free time to love and raise you. Although your youth was basically perfect, you often struggled with all the social interactions and visitors at your house. If being a highly sensitive person was a trait in the Sims 4, you would have it. Because of this, you longed for the peace and quiet that nature had to offer. You took a liking to gardening and dreamed of living outside the big city, away from all the noise.'
Traits: Loves Outdoors / Vegetarian / Loner
Career: Gardener (S) or self-employed
Aspiration: Freelance Botanist or The Curator
Complete either the Freelance Botanist or The Curator aspiration
Reach level 10 in the Gardener career (S) in either branch, or alternatively remain unemployed and register with the ministry of labor as a self-proclaimed ‘Naturalist’ and earn a living by growing and selling your crops
Reach level 10 of the Gardening and Flower arranging skill (S) and at least level 6 of the Fishing and Herbalism skill (OR)
Have a large garden with a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers (try and cultivate at least one of every type of produce!)
Cook only with fresh ingredients from your garden and from fishing
If you want, you can also make the lot you live on off-the-grid for an added challenge
Optional: eat the Forbidden Fruit and become a plantsim
Option B:
'Growing up, your parents were too busy maintaining friendships and partying, so you lacked much parental love or guidance. Seeing other kids at school be given much more love and affection than you quite literally made you green with envy. This made you resent your parents and take a path of defiance in an attempt to gain the attention and recognition you lacked as a child.'
Traits: Jealous / Materialistic / either Mean or Squeamish (OR)
Career: Criminal
Aspiration: Public Enemy
Complete the Public Enemy aspiration
Reach level 10 of the Criminal Career in either branch
Reach level 10 of the Mischief skill and at least level 8 of the Programming skill
Use your programming skills on the computer to Hack and extort money from others
Have a secret lair/study room in your house
Because you’re too focused on being a criminal, you have little time for romance; have (or adopt) only 1 child as an adult and raise them independently
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Generation 5: Blue
Blue. The color of serenity, stability, inspiration and wisdom. Just like the color, you exude calmness.
'During your youth you were always called shy and introverted, and this continued into adulthood. Although you liked living surrounded by the quiet of nature, you often felt isolated and lonely, and this manifested into a gloomy outlook on life. Your biggest outlet by far was art. You loved drawing and painting, as it was a way to let out your creativity and complicated emotions. You've always aspired to make your hobby your job, and luckily for you, you might just succeed.'
Traits: Creative / Gloomy / either Perfectionist or Art Lover
Career: Painter
Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire
Complete the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration
Reach level 10 in the Painter career in the Master of the Real branch
Reach level 10 of the Painting skill and at least level 8 of the Photography skill and Parenting skill (Ph)
Only paint emotional paintings (e.g. flirty, confident, sad)
Move back to the city as soon as you are able to
Meet the love of your life at school and marry them as a young adult
Have at least 3 children
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Generation 6: Indigo
Indigo. What an interesting color. Within the visible spectrum, it lies somewhere between blue and violet. It shares most of the same symbolizations as blue, like wisdom, justice, devotion and profound thought, but also mystery.
'Looking back, you’d say you had a great childhood. Loving parents, siblings to play with, maybe even pets. As a child you loved reading thrillers and superhero comics, and that’s where your strong feelings for justice started. Seeing your parent be especially vulnerable for bad news and having a gloomy and pessimistic outlook, you promised yourself you would make the world a better and safer place. As an adult, you took on a job of fighting crime while simultaneously keeping your eagerness to learn and love for reading alive.'
Traits: Self-Assured / Bookworm / Genius
Career: Secret Agent or Detective (GTW)
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim
Complete the Renaissance Sim aspiration
Reach level 3 in two part-time jobs as a teen before getting an adult job
Reach level 10 in the Secret Agent career in the Diamond Agent branch or in the Detective career (GTW)
Reach level 10 of the Logic skill and at least level 7 of the Athletic skill
Read at least one book a week
Have only 1 child
Visit your parents at least once a week to check up on them and reassure them
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
Generation 7: Violet
Last but definitely not least: violet, or more commonly known as purple. The color of royalty, rarity, luxury and power. At its base, purple is a mix of blue and red. Fitting for our last generation (for now).
'During your youth you grew up rather wealthy, thanks to your parents’ well-paying jobs. In addition to that, you grew up as an only child. Talk about being spoiled. Your parent’s love for fiction and comic books and somewhat nerdy interests were (unsurprisingly) passed onto to you. You spend most of your time behind your computer gaming, programming and trolling people online. Because of your immense love for videogames, you chose to work in tech so you could make your hobby your career and not have to suffer one of those boring 9-5 jobs.'
Traits: Geek / Lazy / either Snob or Materialistic
Career: Tech Guru or Video Game Streamer (HSY)
Aspiration: Computer Whiz
Complete the Computer Whiz aspiration
Reach level 10 in the Tech Guru career in the eSport Gamer branch or the Video Game Streamer career (HSY)
Reach level 10 in the Video gaming and Programming skill and at least level 6 in the Mischief skill
Have your sim be androgynous
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
The End?
Officially, as the rainbow only has seven colors, the challenge is over. However, I felt it was a little weird to not include pink at the very least, since pink is also a very popular color. That’s why, in addition to pink, I created a few extra generations to round out the whole challenge. So if you want to continue the legacy for at least a little longer, you can!
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
(Optional) Generation 8: Pink
It’s pink baby! The color pink symbolizes love, affection, nurture, compassion, femininity and success. That’s why, in contrast to all other generations so far, this is the only generation that I made gender specific.
'You’ve always noticed that your parent was not setting the best example. Despite this, you still love them. They're your parent! To you, love, especially familial bonds, are the most important thing in the world. You strive towards having a large, loving family and want to become the best parent you can be for your kids, in contrast to your own parents. In addition to that, you’ve always loved fashion and would draw your own outfits when you were a kid. You’d love to make your passion for fashion your career, but only if your family life allows for it.'
Traits: Loyal / Family-oriented / either Good or Generous (FR)
Career: Style Influencer or Stay-at-home Parent
Aspiration: Big Happy Family or Super Parent (Ph)
The sim from this generation must be female
Complete either the Big Happy Family aspiration or the Super Parent aspiration (Ph)
Either reach level 10 in the Style Influencer career in either branch or be a Stay-at-home Parent
Reach level 10 of the Cooking and Handiness skill and the Parenting skill (Ph)
Have at least one biological child and one adopted child
Have a stronger relationship with both grandparents from Gen 6 than with your parent from Gen 7
Have only one romantic partner for the entirety of your Sim’s life and stay with them until death
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
(Optional) Generation 9: White
White. Not quite a color color, but for the purposes of this challenge, it is. It symbolizes innocence, purity, cleanliness, safety and rebirth.
'Ever since you can remember you’ve played doctor with your dolls and teddy bears and begged your parents to buy you the hospital-style dollhouse. Wherever this fascination with health and medicine came from, it made you the caring and disciplined person you are today. Of course, your parents supported you throughout all of medical school and you’re eternally grateful to them. Because of their support, you can fulfill your dream of aiding others whenever they need it.'
In this gen you can choose between two routes: becoming a doctor or becoming a vet. If you only have base game or none of the listed packs, let your sim become an athlete (in this case their purpose is to lead by example on how to live a healthy lifestyle and prevent disease).
Traits: Ambitious / Neat / Active
Career: Doctor (GTW), Vet (C&D) or Athlete
Aspiration: Bodybuilder
If you have Discover University, I strongly recommend you to send your Sim to University, to add to the idea that they’re going to medical school. If you do, have them earn a degree in Biology.
Complete either the Bodybuilder aspiration or the Academic aspiration (DU)
Reach level 10 of the Doctor career (GTW), the Athlete career or register with the ministry of labor as a ‘Vet’:
If you have Cats & Dogs, purchase a Vet Clinic and make that your full-time job
Reach level 10 of the Fitness and Logic skill and the Veterinarian skill (C&D) IF you chose the vet route.
Marry and have at least one child
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
(Optional) Generation 10: Black
Last but not least (for real this time): black. The color of power, elegance, death, evil and mystery. A sharp turn from our last generation, in some ways. But don’t worry, this sim won’t be so evil.
'Ever since you were born, people knew that you’d be different. And you were: as a child you often displayed ‘odd’ behavior, and as you got older you were diagnosed with erraticism. However, you also had a very high IQ. One could almost wonder if your erraticism was caused by your giftedness, or the other way around. Either way, you decided to not let your diagnosis get in the way of your dreams, and you pursued a career in science and engineering, subjects you were highly interested in since childhood. You wanted to prove to yourself and the world that having a ‘disability’ does not have to stand in the way of greatness.'
Traits: Erratic / Genius / Noncommital
Career: Astronaut, Scientist (GTW) or Engineer (DU)
Aspiration: You decide!
Since you have the Erratic trait, you may choose any aspiration for this final generation. But make sure to complete it!
Reach level 10 of the Handiness and Rocket Science skills, as well as the Robotics skill (DU) and at least level 5 of the Piano skill
If you have Discover University, have your sim earn a degree in either Physics or Computer Science
Reach level 10 in either the Astronaut career, Scientist career (GTW) or Engineer career (DU)
Build a rocket ship and visit Sixam
Have only one Best Friend (you may live with them or be roommates with them if you like)
Never have any romantic partners and die single
✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦ ✦
The End
Thank you for reading and/or playing this challenge. I hope you enjoyed!

Hello and welcome to the TaleTime Legacy Challenge, an Interactive legacy which is based on literature genres and consists of 10 generations.
Being an interactive legacy means most of the generations have few options to choose from. Options from the same gen have a common theme but different rules and stories that I created "in style" of certain literature genres. Сhoosing a certain option may lead to a storyline that cannot be reached otherwise. So while taking a specific path be aware that some later gens' options might NOT be available for you any more.
The stories prior to every single option are NOT meant to be perceived literally as a description of your character's life. It suppose to give you a setting and vibe that is inherent in this particular storyline. Purely for additional inspiration and fun.
Short disclaimer: English is not my native language so I'm sorry in advance for any grammatical mistakes.
General rules:
You can play on any lifespan (but I suggest playing on Normal one).
You can use any money/real estate cheats (unless generation's rules state otherwise).
You can live wherever you want, with your parents/sibilings or without them (unless it's specified in the generation's rules).
You DON'T have to complete career and aspiration (unless it's said in the generation's rules).
Almost each generation starts when the heir becomes Young Adult.
There are more details about heirs at the end of each gens' description. Make sure you read it BEFORE starting the next generation.
There are main rules for each generation and optional ones. You can choose any of the optional rules to complete or just ignore them.
Many gens have only two necessary traits for your character which means YOU have to choose the other trait or spin the "random wheel". Same goes for career and aspiration if they are not stated.
This legacy was created using content from many packs. If you don't have some of the required sims packs, you can adjust some rules to still be able to play.
Keep in mind that I added a few variations to some of the gens' rules so it contains options from different packs or a base game. You can choose to accomplish all of them or pick the one that is more available and/or preferable to you.
You DON'T have to complete all of the options given for each generation. The goal is to choose ONE heir from the kids and play the specific option that is dedicated for this heir. You DON'T have to play with their sibilings and complete their options as well.
The most important rule:
NO RULES! It's meant to be fun and enjoyable. If you don't wanna do something or wanna do it the other way around, then don't force some rules upon yourself. It's more of a guideline anyway!
Btw: tag of the challenge is #TaleTimeLegacyChallenge. Hope you'll enjoy it!
(I'm curently working on some visual chart for this legacy to make it easier for players to keep track of all the generation's options. Stay tuned!)
Gen 1. The Tale of Hoods and Fairy Creatures
Once upon a time there was a Sim. The Sim was young, friendly and simply the most cheerful human being who was ever seen. The Sim didn't have any parents - for they were just a poor little orphan - but they had a grandparent and a best friend who was always near their side. This friend was the most enchanting talking animal though none of the folk have ever hear them talk. One day the charming Sim took their charming friend to explore what lies beyond the woods and find a good place to start a new exciting life. Many misfortunes they met on their way but nothing could break their young and sincere spirit. After all adventures they finally discovered a perfect cozy village where they decided to stay and make even more great friends. And they lived happily ever after… or didn't they…?

Gen 3.1 Remember Sunny the Tragic Clown
Today I decided to practice my new performance at the local park. Perhaps, testing something new for the first time in front of a big crowd wasn't the smartest decision... but anyway, it doesn't matter now. Long story short, I tried to execute some fruit juggling. It was going rather well at first, but then all of a sudden this treacherous banana slipped right out of my hands! And, of course, the next second, in my oversized shoes, I slipped on a banana peel and plopped on the ground. I hit my nose on the sidewalk so hard that tears came out of my eyes. But guess what? Nobody was upset! Instead everyone was laughing and giggling at my awkward drop. They thought it was part of the show! So I decided to rename the entry - now it's called Tears of a Clown!

Life of a royal heir is carefree, joyful and extremely simple. At least that's what Sim always hoped for. As a child, their life consisted of endless balls, dinner parties and other pleasant entertainments. A grand castle, adorned with intricate tapestries, has always seemed to be a safe hideaway from the worries of a difficult outside world. Gen 4.3 One String to Rule Them All
In the twilight of a cozy autumn evening the cobblestone streets shimmered with the glow of torches. Warm light streamed from the tavern window on the corner of the street and laughter, music and dancing could be heard from the inside. On a small stage the bard played a cheerful brisk melody which was complemented by the clatter of heels and the clink of dishes. An instrument in the hands of the young bard was pouring a river of sonorous sounds and the voice, so strong and confident, was sweeter than the birds singing. Yet, despite their melodious charm and nimble fingers, fame and glory always seemed to dance just out of reach.
Your first living expirience made it very clear: being a nice person with a normal job and day-to-day concerns is quiet boring. You don't wanna waste your second life on these nonsense. Gen 5.1 Dear Diary
Dear Diary, Today has altered my life forever. I've always fantasized about meeting my one and only, shuffled different scenarios from my favourite love stories dreaming of this unforgettable moment. I have imagined this second countless times. And then I saw Them. The most beautiful being, They entered my world ethereally like the morning sunlight making its way through the window. For a few moments my heart stopped beating. In front of me I saw an angel, a divine creature that filled everything and everyone with its light. An eternity flashed before my eyes when I finally was able to comprehend the insignificance of everything that had happened to my life up to this very second. Who would have thought that one fleeting moment could change my entire existence? With love and faith in dreams come true, Sim

The afternoon was serene and soothing, yet their heart was racing. Today marked their third wedding. Staring off into the distance with an unwavering gaze full of hope, they were carried away by thoughts of two other days from their past, days so similar to this one. Gen 6. Is anybody here?..
There was somebody outside the window, standing in the shade of the trees. The dark figure could barely be seen in the foggy grace of moonlight. The presence of this.. Thing.. filled Sim's insides with cold animal dread. The invisible stare - they sensed it with every inch of their body - was fixed directly on them, frozen in the middle of a grim living room. Hide, run away, crawl in the furthest and darkest corner of this house, vanish. Somewhere in the silence of their house, creaked the old wooden floor.
It seems like your parents cared more about their own drama in life than about you. And it certainly left a mark.. You are not crazy, you are just a little weird. I would even saу.. obsessed. With this idea of having big loving household. And maybe you're trying a little bit too hard.

The sky crackled with furious growl and thousands lights covered the boundless canvas of the sea. Black restless waves crashed against the hull of the majestic but shabby ship. On board, where orderly chaos reigned, an experienced crew battled marine force with knowledge of the matter. The Сaptain stood at the helm, gripping the wheel as the wind howled around them. and shouted commands breaking through the nature's cacophony. The next moment the swell crushed upon them, ready to swallow them whole. The Captain's head went under the wave and their throat filled with saltwater as the sea dragged them to its depths. A person, rolling the quill in their fingers, leaned back in the chair and wearily closed their eyes. The right words still didn't come to mind.
