2 CHOICES LEGACY CHALLENGE
Hello friends!
Welcome to the formal introduction to the 2 Choices Legacy Challenge!
My beloved friend @themoonglitch and I were talking and in the middle of nowhere, we decided to create a legacy challenge of our own, with simple and funny rules to keep everyone entertained!
And now that we are pretty satisfied with how it turned out, we decided to SHARE IT TO THE WORLD! *insert dramatic music here*
Let's start with simple things...
BASIC RULES:
Start with a Young Adult Sim, it doesn’t matter if male or female
Cheats are not allowed! But you can use freerealestate for your first home!
Start your journey in a 30x20 lot!
Now that you have your sim and the house, use the cheats money to set the money at 1000 simoleons
You can move and change scenery! Of course, you need the money! NO CHEATS!
Every heir and even the founder must have the obligatory trait!
The challenge ends when the heir of Generation 4 will become a young adult!
Keep the lifespan on normal, but feel free to stop it ONLY for story purposes!!
Every generation is named after what their true essence will be, keep that in mind!
So, without further ado...
GENERATION 1: The INSPIRATION
You've always been a creative sim, and you LOVE adventure, travelling and explore the world!! Every time you are amazed at how wonderful nature can be and can’t wait to express your constant inspiration! Though, you have an actual disgust towards everything that flies...crawls... in short: BLEAH!
TRAIT: Squeamish
CHOOSE YOUR CAREER:
Writer: you must write ONLY adventure books or touristic guides if you choose the journalistic career.
Painter: you must paint ONLY landscapes and “paint from reference” once you have reached the skill to do so.
GOALS: You have to travel to Selvadorada and during the exploration, you have to photograph all the main ruins. You must also complete the postcards collection!
OPTIONAL GOALS: If you reach the top of your career and its related ability (writing or painting) you can add 3000 SIMOLEONS to your founds! JACKPOT!
For those who do not have JA, you have to go through all the existing scenery and write 4 books dedicated to each scenery or make 4 paintings by painting from reference in each scenery!
GENERATION 2: The ATTITUDE
You have always lived in luxury thanks to the hard work of your parents and that's how you want to continue living! Basically, you're a snob and your only interest, well, it's you! You've always dreamed of becoming famous on social media, or become the founder of a great fashion house!
TRAIT: Snob
CHOOSE YOUR CAREER:
Social Media
Business
GOALS: You have to reach the top of your career and complete the Friend of the World aspiration! Complete the snowball collection OR the crystal collection (if you don’t have City Living)
OPTIONAL GOALS: You must have a child from an already married sim! After the birth of the child, you can try to convince your lover to divorce their spouse! If you manage to do that...well, then break up with them and keep the child. You can now add 3000 simoleons to your founds! YAY!
GENERATION 3: The SOLITUDE
Well, you had a pretty distant family and a difficult relationship with your parents. You’re not angry, only super duper sad! :( You’ve come to the conclusion that you prefer the company of 1000 animals instead that one single person. This poor sim will not be able to find true love, then to marry and have children, until adulthood.
TRAIT: Gloomy
CHOOSE YOUR CAREER:
Buy your own veterinary clinic and reach (at least) 4 stars.
Become a fisherman! (no other careers)
GOALS: You won’t be able to find true love, have children and marry until adulthood. Possess two dogs and two cats in the course of your life and achieve the highest level of veterinary and training skills OOOOR maximize fishing and complete the collections of fishes and frogs.
OPTIONAL GOALS: Complete the Friend of the Animals aspiration and complete the feather collection! Now, you can add 3000 simoleons to your funds.
GENERATION 4: The FAMILY
Your parents always taught you the true values of a strong, happy family. Having a family all for your own has always been your dream! You have the love of your life by your side and an amazing family! ...Even if bumping into every wall you see (or don’t see) doesn’t help you win your children's respect...
TRAIT: Clumsy
CAREER:
No career! You're a happy home keeper!
GOALS: Complete the Super Parent aspiration or the Big Happy Family aspiration!
OPTIONAL GOALS: Maximize the Parenting skills and have at least 4 children. All your babies will have to acquire the "happy baby" line when they grow up from toddler. Be good friends with all your children!
GENERATION 5: The FUTURE
The fifth generation is hiding in the large family of your Legacy!
Choose your heir and join with him/her the level 5 of all the toddler skills, take an A at school as a child and so also as a teen and get a nice job!
After all, your parents have taught you the responsibility...and empathy...in short, you're a model sim!
Unfortunately, when you blow the candles, this Legacy will end...but your imagination has no limits and you don’t have to stop here! Agree? ;)
TRAIT: Cheerful
CAREERS:
You decide!
GOALS and OPTIONAL GOALS: You decide!
We enjoyed every single moment of creating this challenge and can’t wait to see you play with it!! Share your story with the hashtag #2CLegacy so we can check it out!
With lots of love, @potiontart & @themoonglitch

The Gemstone Legacy Challenge
It's been a very long time since I last did a challenge, and in the days leading up to my new computer I decided to come up with some ideas for a future legacy challenge to more or less christen this bad boy. This is a 10 generation legacy with a fairly heavy focus on different family dynamics within certain generations.
Tag: 'gemstone legacy challenge' or @ me!
Rules:
✔ There are none! Have fun and follow the generational rules as you see fit!
Generation 1: Rose Quartz
‘You were raised as an only child by a single parent. It was a happy yet lonely life but you always wanted more: you wanted a large, hectic home, a loving spouse, and kids of your own. A surprise inheritance finally gives you that opportunity, and you move from the big city to a small country home, with all the room to grow that you could want!’
Recommended colour: light pink Recommended traits: nurturing, good, family-oriented, natural cook
Move to a small house on a large lot (50x50 or 60x60 is recommended!). This will be your primary legacy home throughout this challenge.
Begin working in the culinary career
Meet the one not long after moving to town. You quickly start dating and soon find yourself expecting your first child.
Get married after you have two children
After you have your third child, you decide to become a stay-at-home parent - you can continue to add to the household funds through various hobbies if you wish!
Have a total of five kids and one must be adopted!
Generation 2: Lapis Lazuli
‘You grew up in a loud, hectic family home. Whilst you didn't hate it, you always preferred the quiet, keeping your head down to focus on schoolwork and eventually your career. As a young adult, you throw yourself into the law enforcement career, but eventually realise that is not your true passion and decide to follow your dreams as your parent did many years ago.’
Recommended colour: dark blue and/or light blue Recommended traits: workaholic, genius, supernatural sceptic, loner
Finish high school with an ‘A’
Be a part of an after-school club in high school
Optional: Graduate as valedictorian
Join the law enforcement career after graduation
Meet your future partner (can be a work colleague)
Optional: Get married
Have at least two children
After reaching level 5 of your career or becoming an adult, you decide to change your life and quit to become a ghost hunter
Separate or divorce from your partner but remain on good terms
Generation 3: Ruby
‘You came from a rather unusual family. Your grandparents married young and remained devoted all their lives; your parents divorced as adults, dividing your family. Like your grandparents, you want to find your soulmate, but unfortunately despite having a kind and loving heart, it does not come easy to you. After several failed relationships, you question if you will ever find the one, or whether your parents' failed love has doomed you.’
Recommended colour: red Recommended traits: flirty, irresistible, hopeless romantic, friendly, schmoozer
Have at least seven friends
Work a part-time job as a teenager before becoming a nectar maker as a young adult
Travel at least once to Champs Les Sims
Have three failed relationships before finding the one
Have two children
Throw or attend a party at least once a week
Generation 4: Onyx
‘You grew up in a happy, loving family, but you were always a little different. A quiet, shy thing, you preferred your solitude and books, instead of interacting with others or participating in parties like the rest of your family. As you grow older, the differences between you and the rest of your family cause a wedge to form, and you long to find someone who understands you. A chance encounter with an occult opens up a whole new world to you.’
Recommended colour: black and/or dark grey Recommended traits: bookworm, shy, grumpy, supernatural fan
Be close with your family as a child but start to grow apart as a teenager
Become enemies with your sibling
Become a writer
Meet your future partner at a park
They must be either a vampire or a witch
After two dates, allow yourself to be turned or become a witch
Move into an old, mysterious mansion (up to you as to how this looks!)
Have children
Generation 5: Bloodstone
‘You were born as an occult. Regardless of your opinion on the matter, you were raised to be the best vampire or witch you could be, not to be ashamed of who you were, nor to hide from others. Will you follow what's in your blood or fight to change your destiny?’
Recommended colour: dark green and red Recommended traits: genius, charismatic, virtuoso
Note: This generation can be played in two ways!
Vers. 1
Do not cure yourself and do not buy a cure
If a witch, you will become an alchemist and try to become a zombie master
If a vampire, you will become a fortune teller (scam branch) and will try to turn the town
Get married (partner must be a witch or vampire like yourself)
Have one child
Vers. 2
Do not cure yourself but try to find the cure or make it yourself
If a witch, follow the alchemy artisan LTW
If a vampire, join the music career (symphonic branch)
If playing as a witch, you can only use positive spells/charms and potions
If playing as a vampire, you cannot drink from anyone (save for your partner, if you wish) and must feed yourself by plasmafruit
Get married (partner must be a witch or vampire like yourself)
Have one child
Make or purchase the cure for your condition, but do not use it on yourself
Generation 6: Pearl
‘Your parent may or may not have been able to cure themselves, but you will not fail. You hear of a cure being advertised at the local laboratory. It seems too good to be true but you take a chance and are rewarded for your efforts. Congratulations, you are now a human. A new life reveals itself in front of you and you can live as you see fit. You've always been a compassionate soul and decide to join the medical career to help and heal others.’
Recommended colour: white or pale grey Recommended traits: socially awkward, genius, workaholic, heavy sleeper, nurturing
Become human (use either the cure from your parent, or go to the science lab)
Join the medical career
Master the logic skill
Move back to the old legacy home
Never get married, you may date and have a partner, but you cannot marry them
Have your first and only child as an adult
Move the other parent of your child into the family (up to you whether you live as a couple or not)
Generation 7: Citrine
‘You have a rather unconventional family and an upbringing that's different from most. You love your parents but find their lives too neat and too clinical. With or without their approval, you decide to become a performer, it's less stable than their careers but it brings you joy, and perhaps you can bring others joy along the way too!'
Recommended colour: pale orange, yellow, and/or white Recommended traits: charismatic, natural born performer, friendly
Join one of the ‘performer’ careers as a YA (in this case it is counting as singer, magician, or acrobat)
Master at least one instrument
Have ten friends
Have children with at least two different sims
Get married
Become a celebrity
Generation 8: Moss Agate
‘As a child, you loved living the high life thanks to your famous parent. However, as you grew older, you began to resent that lifestyle, hating the paparazzi and the lack of privacy. People always speculated you might follow in their footsteps, but as a teenager you discover your green thumb, before taking a leap and deciding to live as a farmer as an adult.’
Recommended colour: pale green, dark green, and/or white Recommended traits: green thumb, animal lover, gatherer
As a child, focus on either painting or the violin skill, before dropping it in high school
Start building your gardening skill in high school
After graduating, make a sudden purchase of a farm
Work as a ‘farmer’ with most of your income coming from selling your produce
Own a large pet (dog, cat, or horse)
Optional: raise said pet from their youngest lifestage
Get married
Have kids
Generation 9: Aquamarine
‘Born on a farm, you understood and appreciated the value of hard work from a young age. Despite your love for your home, you have other dreams, and from a young age have a passion for swimming. As an adult, you decide to become a lifeguard, spending time by the water, and saving lives at the same time.’
Recommended colour: pale turquoise Recommended traits: loves to swim, angler, athletic, disciplined
Join the lifeguard career as a YA
Master the athletic and fishing skills
Meet a mermaid
Get married
Have two kids
Generation 10: Moonstone
‘You were always a little different from the rest of your family. An eccentric dreamer amongst a family of grounded rationalists. You love painting and exploring the mysteries of the world. One night, a chance encounter with a mysterious sim turns you into an occult, and suddenly your life is flipped upside down.’
Recommended colour: pastel colours and white Recommended traits: eccentric, good, childish, artistic
Become a painter or a sculptor as a YA
Master painting, sculpting, and writing
Meet either a fairy or werewolf at night and become one
After becoming a fairy or werewolf, change your lifetime wish to either: leader of the pack (if a werewolf), or greener gardens/magic makeover (if a fairy)
Optional: travel and live in the future
Optional: get married and have kids

Anonymously Autonomous: an Autonomy Based Legacy Challenge
For The Sims 2, The Sims 3, and The Sims 4
Have you ever played an ISBI (I'm Surrounded by Idiots) legacy, or an asylum challenge? Was it something you enjoyed, but felt a little ick about the name, and the premise being that the sims you don't control are "insane," "crazy," "erratic," or just in some way just stupid? Well, you're not alone! The autonomy in these games isn't great, but can make for some really chaotic situations that you'd never get if you controlled every single sim most of the time, so it's fun to occasionally play a game where your sims are allowed to just be their little chaotic selves. And I want to help facilitate the chaos because maybe I'm a little bit of a Watcher of Mischief myself. If you're interested, keep reading!
Basic Concept
If you know the ISBI and Asylum challenges, you know the main premise: you can only control one sim in your household. In the ISBI Legacy, your founder will eventually "pass the torch" on to their heir, who will become the next sim you can control, and you will no longer be able to control your previous sim. It's very simple. There are other rules, and some versions even include the addition of points, but that's the basic idea.
For AAL (Anonymously Autonomous Legacy), at the bare bones, it's the same exact concept: one single sim you can control. But I decided to do something a little different with this, as well, because I didn't want this to be just a renaming of the ISBI. I want it to be its own thing. And what that thing is is:
Randomization.
The sim you can control will not necessarily be your founder or heir at all times. When you only control one sim, it will always be that sim you control, but once you have multiple sims in your household, after a set period of time you have to Spin a Wheel with all of your household's eligible sims on it to pick what sim you will control during the next set period of time. Sometimes, you will get the same sim multiple times in a row. Sometimes you might never even get to control your heir. It will all depend on the wheel (or dice roller, or number randomizer, whatever you wish).
Interested? Good!
General Rules (for Sims 2, 3, and 4)
Create a YA sim of your choice. If you are playing TS2, you may start either as a YA in university, or you may start as an adult to start their life right away. They can have any personality, likes/dislikes, turn ons/offs, whatever you want.
If you want to start off with randomization from the very beginning, give them a spouse, and spin the wheel to decide who you play as from the beginning.
Use whatever age span you want to for this. However, short might make this even more difficult that it already will be, so only use short if you want an extra challenge.
You may not use money cheats.
Move into a lot using whatever money your family has. You may not give them more money to build them a nice house.
Optional: Move them into the biggest lot in the game (whichever iteration you're playing), and do some lawn living. If they still have a lot of money, reduce their money in a way you see fit - remove it through cheats, or purchase a really expensive item that serves no practical purpose.
Next generation begins when the heir becomes a YA.
Non-heir children may stay in the family home however long you want.
Autonomy Randomization Rules
Once you have more than one sim in your household, you must decide on a specific timeframe in which to randomize who you will be allowed to control and how long you can control them.
An example of what I mean by this is if you have four sims in your household. Let's call them Matthew, Frankie, Shawn, and Sky. Matthew is the founder, Frankie his wife, Shawn a child, and Sky a toddler. You input their names in the wheel, and spin it. The wheel lands on Shawn's name, so for that entire week, he is the only one you are allowed to play.
When you have a sim chosen to be the only one you can control, that is the only sim you may select. You may not select other sims to check their inventory, to check their needs, etc. Their needs and everything are a mystery to you. If they genuinely seem to be stuck, you may reset them however your particular iteration allows you to do so.
You may use your own timeframe for selecting a random sim, but I have come up with my own in case you want to use one of mine.
Weekly Randomization: On Sunday at 8 am, spin the wheel. From that moment until the next Sunday at 8 am, you will control only that sim.
Seasonal Randomization: This is similar to the previous one, but if you play TS4 and play with 14 day or 28 day seasons or have some kind of mod or cheats to modify the length of your seasons. On the first day of the season at 8 am, spin the wheel. From that moment until the first day of the next season, you will control only that sim.
Yearly Randomization: If you want more time with a single sim, this one is for you. On the first day of Spring at 8 am, spin the wheel. From that moment through all of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, you will control only that sim. On the first day of the next Spring at 8 am, you will spin the wheel again.
Age Span Randomization: The next time your current sim ages up, spin the wheel. So if your founder starts as a YA, spin the wheel when they age up to adult. If the next sim is a child, you play them until they age up to teen, and so forth.
No Randomization: This is an option. If you only want to control your torch holders, you don't have to randomize who you control at all, you can just control your founder then heirs, as long as you only ever control one sim at a time.
Random Randomization: This one would be rather difficult to keep track of, but if you want to, you can use either a number randomizer, or a dicer roller, or some way, to pick how many days you will control your current sim. When you first start controlling a sim, you will roll to find out how many days you may control that sim. Once you move onto the next sim, roll once again to find out how long you will control that sim.
This is all of the timeframes I can come up with right now, but if you have any ideas feel free to message them to me!
Another rule about the randomization is that you may roll the same sim multiple times in a row. You may not remove your current sim from the wheel - whatever sim you get is the one you play.
The sim you control doesn't need to be related to your family. If they are a controllable sim in your household, you must put them on the wheel. If you move in your best friend? You may end up controlling them more often than your own sim.
Optional: If you are going to be posting your legacy on Simblr, or somewhere else, and want to really follow the "anonymous" part of this challenge, keep the sim you are controlling a secret from your viewers! See if they can guess which sim is being controlled, maybe have a poll every time before the next switch just for fun.
General and Iteration-Specific Rules
The first thing I'm going to talk about is what sims are eligible to be put on the wheel, depending on which game you are playing.
The Sims 2: The sims eligible for being the controllable sim are as follows: toddlers, children, teens, young adults (if you send them to university), adults, and elders. All occults/supernatural beings are also eligible, if they are in your household. If you use cheats to control babies or pets, you may also add them to the wheel.
The Sims 3: The sims eligible for being the controllable sim are as follows: babies, toddlers, children, teens, young adults, adults, elders, cats, dogs, and horses. All occults/supernatural beings are also eligible, if they are in your household.
The Sims 4: The sims eligible for being the controllable sim are as follows: infants, toddlers, children, teens, young adults, adults, and elders. All occults/supernatural beings are also eligible, if they are in your household. Also, if you use the mod that allows you to play pets, you may add them to the wheel as well.
You may play however you would normally play, except that you are only allowed to play one sim at a time.
Mods and CC are allowed. You may even use mods that improve autonomy if you so wish.
For any of the games, you may set things up to make life easier for you. For example, I suggest using the baby monitor in TS3 if you end up having to play as a baby - that way, you can use it to call attention to yourself if you are in need. For TS4, I suggest using MCCC to make more things autonomous, like gardening and repairing items. Things like that.
When controlling a sim, you may use their reward points to purchase things. Even if they are rewards that will help you greatly, nothing is off limits. Use whatever advantage you are given.
Nothing in the build/buy modes are off limits either. If you want sim death, feel free to build the horrors. If you want to keep as far away from death as you want, you don't even need an oven. It's up to your discretion.
Also, how do you choose an heir? You can choose an heir any way you choose. Whether you choose the one you like the most, have an heir poll, or use one of the Succession Laws from the official legacy challenge, any way you prefer is fine.
What is the Goal?
Your goal is to get to the 10th generation, and will end when the 10th generation's youngest child ages up to YA. You may play further than this if you please, but that is the main goal.
However, this is not as simple as you might thing, and that is why it is your only required goal.
Because you will (probably) be randomizing which sim you can control, it's not always going to easy to keep your heirs alive, or even find your heir a spouse/significant other to have children with. After all, if you can't control the heir, how can you find them someone to love?
You will have to use whatever sim you are allowed to play to your advantage. If you can't play your heir, use the sim you can play to bring eligible sims to the household to meet your heir.
Another reason that the goal is simple is because sims are not the brightest bulbs in the box, or the sharpest tool in the shed (I had to say it). Some of your unplayable sims might very well die to something silly, like eating too many jelly beans (TS3) or starving to death. Some babies, infants, toddlers, or children may be taken away by social services. Some pets might be taken away as well.
Optional: If you want a little extra challenge, you can add the generational goal that you have to try to complete your heir's LTW/aspiration before they die.
"What is the fail condition for this challenge?" You may be asking. There is exactly one fail condition: every sim related to your family in the household dies/is taken away. So, realistically, this challenge is very difficult to fail. If you only have one related sim left in the household but there are relatives out in the world and you want some insurance, feel free to bring the family back into the home. Whatever you can do to not fail? Do it.
And that's all I have for now! I haven't put together points or anything, or a score card, because I know people don't really play challenges for points anymore. But, if enough people want to play for points, I will add a scoresheet/scoring section.
If you have any questions, please message them to me or comment on this post, and I will answer your questions to the best of my ability!
If you decide to play this challenge, please tag it with #SimsAALC so that I can see it!

I was bored and made another animal themed Sims 4 legacy challenge!! Please ignore any errors in the graphics as I made them quickly! Rules for the legacy aren't incredibly strict as my focus was storyline! Biggest thing for me is not cheating an excessive amount and starting rags to riches style!
Please play it and tag critterlegacy so I can see what you do. <3

◇ musical legacy challenge
I wanted to try and make my own legacy challenge since this community is full of so many incredible ideas. This challenge is only five generations and not composed of my all-time favs, but these were the shows I could come up with plots for. If people like this one, I’d consider making a part 2 though!! I also have all the packs so feel free to amend this to fit your packs or play style!!
Gen #1: Loser Geek Whatever
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Traits: Childish, Geek, Jealous
Career: Tech Guru, E-sports Gamer branch
Summary: You were always the loser as a child. You never had many friends and always longed for more: Connection, popularity, attention. You spent most of your life playing video games, but now, as a Young Adult, you are determined to broaden your social circle and become cool. Rules: You must max the Tech Guru career (E-sports Gamer branch) and max the video gaming and charisma skills. Complete the Friend of the World aspiration and have at least one child. Bonus: Use a color scheme of purple, blue, and green. Have a difficult or distant relationship with your child(ren). Pine endlessly for a friend your whole Young Adult life, and only marry them into Adulthood.
Gen #2: What Baking Can Do
Aspiration: Appliance Whiz
Traits: Ambitious, Foodie, Family Oriented
Career: Running a food stand
Summary: Your parent was always so busy with their many friends, and you missed out on a lot of important teaching moments. As a Young Adult, you marry someone you aren’t very compatible with and end up expecting a child with them. Not wanting to raise a child in your current environment, you work your ass off baking and cooking for your food stand to make enough money to leave your spouse and give your child a good life. Rules: You must be married as a Young Adult and divorce them. Max the baking, cooking, and gourmet cooking skills. Have only one child with your ex. Getting re-married is optional, but you must not have any children with your new spouse. You must run a food stand as your main source of income (having part-time jobs as a teen or while initially in your marriage is fine, but once you decide to leave, get baking!) Bonus: Use a color scheme of pink, yellow, and light blue. Have a permissive relationship with your child. If your food stand becomes too easy to manage, open your own restaurant!
Gen #3: Waving Through a Window
Aspiration: Freelance Botanist
Traits: Gloomy, Loves Outdoors, Socially Awkward
Career: Writer
Summary: Your parent was good to you, but you always knew the sacrifices that they made for you, which left you with the anxiety to succeed. But you don’t want to do anything ground-breaking…You just want to nurture your plants! Rules: Max the gardening and writing skills. Join the writing career, become a freelance writer, or simply write books and publish them. This should be your main source of income, but you can also sell your plants for extra money. You don’t have to get married, but you can, and you can have as many kids as you want. Bonus: Use a color scheme of blue, black, and white. Max the flower arranging skill. Tell a lot of lies to everyone, including your friends, family, spouse, and children. Write only fictitious stories for your career.
Gen #4: I Might Be Beautiful
Aspiration: Admired Icon / Successful Lineage
Traits: Neat, Party Animal, Perfectionist
Career: Lawyer
Summary: After seeing how terrible your parent’s social skills are, you vow to never be like them. You spend your teen years desperate to be admired, throwing parties and keeping up with all the trends. You befriend and date some toxic people, and come out the other end a little traumatized, but overall a better person. You pursue a career in law, leaving your mischievous and crazy past behind you, but you still enjoy a good party now and then. Rules: Complete the Admired Icon teen aspiration. Max the charisma, logic, and research & debate skills. Max the Law career in whichever branch you choose. You don’t have to get married and you can have as many children as you want. Bonus: Use a color scheme of red, yellow, green, and blue. Have a toxic ex from your teen years. If you have the Extreme Violence mod, go crazy.
Gen #5: The Room Where It Happens
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
Traits: Ambitious, Genius, Self-Assured
Career: Politician
Summary: Your parent wanted to have a successful lineage, and you are determined to fulfill their wish. You want to make a positive change in the world, but your intelligence and ambition often intimidate people, so relationships aren’t always easy for you. You become a politician and pour yourself entirely into your career, finding seldom time for socialization and hobbies, but you don’t mind too much. Rules: Max the Politician career, as well as the the charisma and writing skills. Complete the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration. Get married and have at least two children. Have an affair and win your spouse back. Bonus: Use a color scheme of gold and black. Try to have as many kids as possible. Die in a stupid way.

Hi Simmers! This is my second legacy challenge called the Sims Townie Legacy Challenge
The 25th anniversary of the Sims series and the re-release of the Sims and Sims 2 inspired me to create this legacy. Throughout the years the iconic townies and family's lore has made the game so special. With so many timelines for characters such as Bella Goth or the Landgraabs I combined all versions of these Townies for each generation, as well as added some fan favorites from the Sims 3 & 4. A New Sims 4 Lepacy Challenge
“I’ve often found myself buying packs and not exploring them fully or not playing them after my initial playthrough!”
“I haven’t even thought about XYZ pack in years!”
“I’m bored!!”
Any of these testimonials sound like you? They sound like me too! The Sims 4 has been out for over 10 years and at the time of writing has over 70 DLC packs with 17 expansions and 12 game packs (may the concept rest in peace) and I have spent far too long forgetting some of my favorite features. SO I have decided to write a Lepacy Challenge based on each of the Expansion and Game packs! (Except Batuu obviously)
Currently, I have written up to Life and Death (which is the most recent pack at the time of updating this) for a total of 29 generations! When new packs come out I will do my best to update quickly. I have outlined a basic story to connect the generations but obviously, you don’t have to follow it, do what's fun for you! For a slightly abridged legacy, you can play without the GP generations.
More Info and Rules Under The Cut!!
Every generation has a set of basic rules and an additional set of just for fun rules. While the basic rules must be completed every generation, just for fun rules are there for extra challenges, tasks, storytelling bits, or cross-pack challenges. There are also some general rules for the overall lepacy. If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know!
Please be aware that I am currently playing through this challenge for the first time on my YouTube channel and as a result, rules may be updated/changed/added to better reflect their generation’s pack features!!! If This Happens I will add a note about it!!
Now Onto The Main Attraction

casual gameplay left up to chance!
do you, like me, find yourself playing in the same worlds over and over? playing the same careers? do you want to get out of your comfort zone? then try the dice roll challenge!
the rules? there are none, technically. all you need is a handful of dice (and what better excuse to buy some pretty dice? but google will do too) and a willingness not to micromanage.
i'm sure this isn't the first challenge of its kind, but it's what i've been doing in my spare time when i want a break from more rigid challenges (and if you like those kinds of challenges, my other two challenges are linked on my blog <3)
another important thing about this challenge is that you can customise it to your liking. these options are based off of the worlds and careers that i personally have in my game, and will become outdated as new packs are released. there are more than 20 worlds and careers, so i unfortunately can't fit them all, but if you want to swap things out, the world is your oyster!
worlds (d20):
Willow Creek
Oasis Springs
Newcrest
Windenburg
San Myshuno
Brindleton Bay
Del Sol Valley
Strangerville
Sulani
Britechester
Evergreen Harbor
Mount Komorebi
Henford-on-Bagley
Tartosa
Tomarang
Copperdale
San Sequoia
Chestnut Ridge
Ciudad Enamorada
Nordhaven
careers (d20):
Actor
Astronaut
Athlete
Business
Conservationist
Criminal
Critic
Culinary
Doctor
Education
Engineer
Entertainer
Freelancer
Gardener
Law
Painter
Politician
Secret Agent
Social Media
Writer
aspirations (d12)
(for this section, only the category is listed. you can pick the exact aspiration you want within that, or leave it up to chance too!)
Animal
Athletic
Creativity
Deviance
Family
Culinary
Fortune
Knowledge
Love
Nature
Popularity
Wellness
colours (d10)
Blue
Orange
Red
White
Black
Purple
Teal
Green
Pink
Brown
number of children (d4)
you could also use a d6 to have up to 6 children!
One
Two
Three
Four
additional obstacles:
Let the game randomise the name of your founder and all children born into the family. Their partner (if they have one) can be whoever you want
Use randomised traits in CAS
Having trouble making a yes or no choice? Roll a d4 and use 1-2 as yes and 3-4 for no

This legacy is based on the same one by @sweetlysimss who very graciously gave me permission to try my hand at converting the challenge for TS3. It's not perfect but I tried my best to stick to the original rules and try and make it fun!
Tag: #nsbxbpr should be fine still or @ me if you do try this out!
Rules:
This challenge can be played with vanilla, banilla, or berry sims
As per the challenges this is based on, the romance options are a mix between those in the BPR or NSB, allowing you to choose which you’d like (or mix them up if you wish!)
There is an optional generational challenge to paint/take a photo of your heir for every generation
The generational requirements do not need to be strictly followed/can be changed as you see fit - the important thing is to have fun!
Generation 1: White
You come from a long line of privileged sims. Life was easy for you and you never wanted for nothing. Despite the easy life, you also felt constricted, unable to be yourself. Now that you’re a young adult, you decide to break free from your parents and pursue your own dreams. Packing your bags, and taking enough money to get by with you, you run away to the old, rundown, farmhouse that the only grandparent you cared for left you in the will. Starting off with nearly nothing to your name, you decide to pursue the hobby you were never allowed to chase to its extent: painting. Due to your upbringing, you find it difficult to let other sims in and may come across as rude sometimes. What you really need is that one special sim to make you feel like it’s all worth it. Slowly but surely, as the years go by, your own family starts to grow, but life is not without its ups and downs…
Recommended traits: artistic, snob, grumpy, hopeless romantic
Career: none; make money through your paintings, fishing, and harvestables
Move into your grandparent’s old house. Must be fairly basic/rustic (the size of the house/lot is up to you)
Max the painting, gardening, and logic skills
Have multiple romantic interests throughout your life, but do not settle permanently with any of them until after you have your first child.
Go on at least one date with a purple, pink, and/or a red sim
Have one child
Get married (does not have to be the parent of your child)
Become enemies with the other sims you did not end up with
Have one more child (can be adopted or an alien baby if you wish!)
Sell at least two masterpiece paintings
Have at least two animals in your household
Optional: raise one from its youngest lifestage all the way through to elder
Be good friends with all your children and animals
Become good friends with at least one grandchild
-
Generation 2: Purple/Pink/Red
Although not everyone would believe you, you would say you had a great childhood. You grew up sheltered but loved by your parents and sibling. From a young age, you had a great passion for reading and books, though all those days spent reading might have left you with a few unrealistic expectations about life. Despite everything, you are eager to see everything that life has to offer and a sudden once-in-a-lifetime trip might change your world forever…
Recommended traits: bookworm, computer whiz, great kisser, irresistible, family oriented
Career: writer
Max the painting and writing skills
Optional: master the charisma skill too
Shortly after you become a YA go to one of the WA worlds or travel to the future. Your time here winds up inspiring you for the rest of your life
Become a writer
Either become a genre specialist or write a book from every genre
Kiss at least five different sims in your life
Leave a sim at the alter (peach or yellow)
Must have had at least two children with this sim
Have a difficult relationship with at least one of your children after the separation from your ex-partner
Have at least 3 children with any other sim (or the sim you eventually marry)
Do not marry until you are an elder
The sim you marry must be yellow or peach (whichever was not the colour of your first spouse)
The sim you marry must be in the culinary career
-
Generation 3: Peach/Yellow
It is fair to say that you grew up in quite a hectic household. The only person who spends time with you and truly understands you is your childhood best friend. The two have you been through thick and thin. They were initially drawn to you for your quiet nature, your inquisitive soul, and a passion for nature inherited from your grandparent. In your late teens, you start to notice those traits are working against you, causing others to call you “weird” or “different”, so you adapted. However, in the process of becoming this new version of yourself, you find yourself losing the one thing you ever held dead. Will you ever get your best friend back? Only time will tell…
Recommended traits: loner, shy, brooding, disciplined, athletic
Career: professional sports and then unemployed when you become an adult (though you can supplement your household funds with your collections)
Max the painting, athletic, and martial arts skills
As a child join the boy/girl scouts, and then join one of the afterschool clubs as a teenager
As a child meet your best friend in a different neighbourhood (orange or grey)
As a teen, never have any close friends except for your best friend and any of your grandparents if they are still alive
As a teen, date your childhood best friend
As a young adult, you decide to change your life around and become the social, popular sim you’ve always wanted to be
Join the professional sports career
You and your best friend begin to drift apart and eventually separate
Not long after they leave, you realise you are pregnant
You date around but nothing lasts
Complete one or more of the following collections: metals, gems, insects, fish, or plants
Do not have a good relationship with your child until they are a teenager
After becoming an adult, quit your career in sports but continue to make money by selling your collections
As an adult, reconcile with your childhood best friend
Optional: have one more child
Get married
-
Generation 4: Orange/Grey
Unlike your parents, you are far more practical when it comes to your life choices - or so you like to claim. After getting interested in your grandparent’s large book collection, you become interested in the occult, in particular witches. A mysterious book leads you to become a witch accidentally and soon strange things start to happen. Before you know it your great-grandparent has come back from the dead! In flesh and blood! How on Earth did that happen? As you begin to figure things out for yourself, a mysterious stranger takes an interest in your so called necromancy…
Recommended traits: bookworm, supernatural fan, artistic, night owl, gatherer
Career: fortune telling (you can supplement your household funds by selling potions/ingredients)
Max the painting and alchemy skills
Get a job in the fortune telling career
Date three sims but never get serious with any of them
One of these sims lead to you becoming a witch
Create every potion
Bring back your great-grandparent (up to you how this is done - you can cheat or use any of the methods in game)
Become at least good friends with them
Your necromancy catches the interest of a local doctor (yellow or purple) and you fall in love
Have at least five children together
Teach all your children their skills
-
Generation 5: Purple/Yellow
The world has so many beautiful sights to offer! You can’t wait to paint them, photograph them, or sculpt them! Your life seems to be going perfectly until one day it isn’t. One day you wake up questioning yourself, your career, even your partner! Don’t you deserve better? Of course you do! You decide to switch your life around first thing in the morning. but was it really the right choice to make?
Recommended traits: artistic, avant garde, good, excitable, savvy sculptor, photographer’s eye
Career: painter or sculptor
Max the painting skill, plus the sculpting and/or photography skills
Go to university and achieve a fine arts degree
Be enemies with at least one sibling
Start a relationship with a former classmate (orange or green)
Have at least one child
After becoming an adult, a midlife crisis hits you hard
Quit your job
End the relationship with your partner or divorce them. Afterwards, you continue to have a good relationship with them
Find a new job and skill to focus on as an adult
start a new relationship with a different orange or green sim (whichever colour was not your first partner)
Have at least one child
-
Generation 6: Orange/Green
Food is love. Crime is life. Doting parent and aspiring cook by day, criminal by night. Have you ever heard of a baking criminal? Neither have you, but someone should be the first. You have loved cooking and baking from a young age, though struggled to find your feet in the culinary career. When you leave at night your family think you are working at a swanky restaurant in town, little do they know you’re actually working for the most notorious criminal organisation in town! You prove yourself to be a hard worker but you know when to slack off and have fun. You make it a habit to visit every seasonal festival…with the bonus of getting some flirty looks from the cute sim in the crowds.
Recommended traits: artistic, natural cook, kleptomaniac, party animal
Career: criminal
Max the painting, mixology, and cooking skills
Learn all recipes (can just stick the base game ones if you wish)
Meet your spouse (teal or pink) at one of the festivals and become instantly smitten
Have at least two children. Twins are recommended!
One child must have the good trait, one must have the evil trait
Make at least three enemies
Steal something worth at least 10,000 simoleons
-
Generation 7: Teal/Pink
You and your sibling have been together through thick and thin. You are polar opposites but are as close as can be. From a young age, the two have you have always been competing with each other. Regrettably, they always seem to be the one in the spotlight, whereas you are left floundering in the dark. What you do excel at though is school and eventually, your career. You take a job in a rather niche area, one which raises a few eyebrows for certain, but you throw your whole heart into it. Let’s see who’s the best now!
Recommended traits: artistic, good or evil, family oriented, virtuoso
Be taught all your skills as a toddler
Be on the honour roll as a child and teenager
Have three good friends from school
As a young adult, join one of the ‘entertainer’ careers: musician, singer, acrobat, magician
Master at least one instrument
Fall in love with a fellow entertainer (blue or peach)
Partner must max the guitar
Have at least two children
-
Generation 8: Blue/Peach
Music runs in your veins, you enjoy it but it is not where your true passion lies. As a young sim, you’ve always been into drama, stories, and theatre. However, the town you live in doesn’t take too kindly to people who are different, flamboyant, and attention-seeking. As a young adult, you move to a new town and throw yourself into the world of celebrities, drama, and paparazzi.
Recommended traits: charismatic, diva, dramatic, artistic
Career: film star
Master the painting and charisma skills
Join the drama club as a teenager
As a young adult, move to a new town and move to an apartment
Join the movie career
Marry a co-worker or neighbour who is also a celebrity (lavender or green)
Have at least one child
Divorce them once you surpass them as a celebrity
Become a vampire before you become a YA to preserve your looks
Have at least one child after your marriage
This child needs to have the white gen one hair colour
They will become your heir
Become a five star celebrity
Either ruin or maintain a good reputation
After becoming a five star celebrity, reconnect with your ex
Have a negative relationship with your sibling(s)
-
Generation 9: Lavender/Green
Phew! What a ride that was! Eight whole generations have come before you, all with their own unique interests, drama, and dreams. You, however, want to take it easy. You surround yourself with simple things, friends and family, and your garden. You love the earth and want to preserve it for future generations. What will the universe have in store for you next?
Recommended traits: friendly, good, green thumb, artistic, eco friendly
Career: gardener or inventor - maybe even both!
Max the painting and gardening skills
Move to a small, simplistic house with a garden
Have at least three friends and three enemies
Throw a party at least once a season for your family and close friends
Accept every invitation for a party
Marry one of your best friends (colour is up to you!)
Try and live an eco-friendly lifestyle
Adopt at least one child
Teach your children all their skills

Sims Princess Legacy ~
Rules: - Have fun! - Change the goals and skills to suit you and your game! - Go in whatever order you'd like! - Updated for packs out in March 2024
Snapshot of 8 more gens under the cut ~ *Rules focus on very loose gameplay style and draw inspiration from the princess tales. They are not exact copies and a lot of the movie plot points to do not transfer over to the sims. If you want to play more faithfully to the movie adaptions, please feel free to disregard any rules you do not like/have packs for. *A lot of gens have similar rules/skills they follow. Feel free to skip around to gens you are more interested in playing *Check back as rules are constantly being updated as I play through the challenge myself

so, i really like writing sims 4 legacy challenges (i've already posted on of my ideas here) but it's a lot of work, so i want to know: which of these ideas i have would you be most likely to read and possibly play?
i know my blog is still very new, so i'm not expecting a lot of engagement on this poll, but i was curious to post this anyway and see what the community has to say!!
each generation would be inspired by the aesthetics and music of some of my personal favorite female musicians (i.e. taylor swift, ethel cain, megan thee stallion, etc)
generations inspired by different crystals and their spirtual ties (i'm currently thinking different kinds of quartz, but i'd be open to other suggestions!)
13 generations based on all 13 degrees from discover university
