The Singh-Collins Family
Alfred Englebert Collins (deceased)
Born the fourth son of the Earl of Kenwick, Alfred Collins was quite a reserved boy. He grew up never needing to give his opinion, but remained observant and fascinated by the world. While his brothers were out wooing young ladies of the town, Alfie was holed up inside reading. He became fascinated by medicine at a young age, and always enjoyed watching the family physician patch up wounds and reset broken bones, which occurred quite often in a house with four boys. When his brothers went off to Oxford, Alfie started apprenticing and soon became the youngest physician in Birmingham. At 20, he met sixteen year old Uma Singh while tending to her father. It was love at first sight for the pair, who soon married and started their own family.
Uma Singh
Uma Singh was born in India to the housemaid and footman of an English diplomat. Her mother died of childbed fever when Uma was just five days old. When she was 13, Uma’s father was offered the opportunity to move with the diplomat back to England as his valet. After the death of his wife and parents, he took the chance. Uma had learned to speak both Hindi and English and was well-versed in both cultures. She adored India, but was happy for a new adventure. She took a job as a governess for the diplomat’s children. At sixteen, her father became gravely ill and a physician was called upon to treat him. Uma took quite a liking to him, and to the shock of both their families, she married him.
Penelope “Enel” Miara Singh-Collins
Penelope Singh-Collins was born on 23rd July, a true Leo. She was a colicky and demanding baby from day one. A terror to her older brother, she grew up difficult. Uma, having been raised meagerly, wanted to give her daughter everything she did not have at her age. Enel was waited on hand and foot and rarely disciplined. Everyone thought that she would mellow out and step up when Alfred died, but she did the opposite and actually regressed. Her attitude is so poor that Peter does not know if she will ever find a match. With their Grandmama’s dwindling support, he is willing to try.
Blanche Westfied Collins
An elderly woman with a penchant for social affairs and gossip, Blanche was once a Patron of Almack’s. When her son married a woman who had immigrated from India as a child, practically the whole town turned on her. Everyone thought Blanche would hide away or worse, disengage with her son. Her husband tried, but she was determined to keep their family close. So she welcomed young Uma Singh with open arms and made sure the town did as well.

Can I just say - I am so interested in what it would be like if Duke Thomas was introduced pre-Flashpoint.
[get ready for. a lot of background info]
Because like, everything post-Flashpoint is weird as hell, for me at least. Jason and Tim are close? (I know everyone wants them to be [including me], but they’re not.) The Bat-Family being an actual functioning family working in the same city? Barbara being Batgirl? Cassandra as Orphan of all things?
If Duke were introduced just before Flashpoint, say, when Bruce is off starting Batman Inc. and there are two Batman’s, and then Flashpoint never happened?
I believe the most recent Batman comic pre-Flashpoint was Gates of Gotham, during which Cassandra, Tim, Dick, and Damian team up (Damian and Cassandra’s first meeting).
At this point, Tim is back in Gotham with Tamara Fox and the Neon Knights initiative, getting back into the swing of things, faking Lucius Fox’s death, getting fake-shot and becoming fake-crippled for a year on live TV, Dick is Batman working with Damian’s Robin, Stephanie’s Batgirl, and Alfred. Alfred, Damian, and Dick live in Wayne Tower, I believe. Jason (very murderous) was recently a patient in Arkham Asylum and later, a prisoner at Gotham Penitentiary and has just rescued his kid sidekick Scarlet. Helena Bertinelli is working with Dinah Lance and Barbara in the Birds of Prey.
Barbara is an assistant professor at Gotham University and she and Jim Gordon have recently fought Jim’s son and her cousin, James Jr, a psychopath killer. Cassandra is in Hong Kong, having taken the name Black Bat, using Bruce’s name idea and a suit Tim made for her, working as a member of Batman Inc. As far as we know, Bruce and Tim are the only people actually speaking to her. Bruce Wayne just publicly revealed that he has been funding Batman for years and starts Batman Inc. (Batman Inc. is basically Bruce [and/or Bruce!Batman] recruiting a bunch of vigilantes from different countries to act as the “Batman” of that city). At this point, Bruce and Damian aren’t working together. Bruce loves Damian as much as any father, but that does not mean that they mesh.
(Also, if we are working with True Canon!Bruce, AKA abusive!Bruce, then this is a good time for Duke to become a member of the Bat-Family, in terms of Bruce’s mental health and the fact that he’s out of Gotham so much.)
(And just for the full Background Knowledge, the Teen Titans team consists of Cassie Sandsmark, AKA the leader, Lorena Marquez, Jaime Reyes, Amy Allen, Christopher Freeman, M’gann M’orzz, Rose Wilson, Virgil Hawkins, Tim Drake-Wayne, Raven, Bart Allen, Kiran Singh, Mas y Menos, Roy Harper, and powerless Eddie Bloomberg. Damian has just quit the team, saying that one Robin is enough.)
This is the Bat-Family Duke comes into, one where everyone is kind of disjointed and Helena is the only normal person ever. (Barbara is usually also normal but she just fought her psycho cousin-brother, so no.) In fact, Duke would probably be recruited by Damian (who showed no qualms about taking in Colin Wilkes without consulting anybody). Stephanie probably wouldn’t have a problem with him, Dick and Barbara might, and who even knows what Tim thinks at any point in time?
Imagine being a newly-discovered metahuman with parents dead to the Joker just trying to train and protect the city in its daylight hours, having to deal with suddenly social media-savvy Red Hood, whose trying to turn public opinion against you while also running about wreaking havoc, weirdos like Professor Pyg, Harley Quinn who is no longer dating Joker but still a criminal, and the nerves of not knowing how the Head Honcho (AKA Bruce Wayne) will react to you.
I think he would probably work with the Birds of Prey a lot and I imagine having a team up with Tim at one point, which I think would be completely hilarious. (Him meeting Jason, on the other hand.)

You that scene where Kate said she would have happily married for her family? Well what if she did? Kate is a 26 years old widow who's defunct husband was 1 of the Raja (Mararaja son) & after his death, & Edwina being 17 now travel to London for her to be presented to the Queen (no Sheffieldplot as Kate is rich) Conbine this with Anthony is the Crown Prince of the small Principality of Audrey. Kate thought Charlotte was going to present Edwina, but when Anthony arrived she presented him to her (like in the show only its Kate instead of Edwina) she still choose Edwina as her diamond, but there not love triangle because Anthony requirements are more stringent & Kate met them & she's the real prize, never mind that she's not looking for a husband.
I like everything about your take. everything except for one tiny thing: I don't think Anthony is prince material.
With that personality He's duke material at most but seeing him as a prince or a future king is so strange for me.
Maybe because canonically Anthony already has a title that upgrading it has never made sense to me. Sorry to everyone who has royalty aus where Anthony is a prince, or the leader of a principality. I just don't see it. Although I can see him as a prime minister, or a president of a small country if he weren't British. He's just so not a prince. At least not with Benedict right next to him. Now Benedict that's a prince right there, also Gregory, definitely prince material. Colin... Could pass as a prince but again, I see him more fitting in with the title of a Marquis or a Baron than to have a whole country to rule.
Okay Sorry if I got sidetracked from your original subject line. Back to the ask.
So according to Wikipedia the wife of a Raja is called Rani. Which would make Kate's title something like Rani Kathani Sharma, or Rani Kathani Singh depending on who her deceased husband was.
I can see Queen Charlotte basically conspiring to keep Kate on British soil and pimping Anthony out as her most ellegible bachelor who *wink wink* comes from a family with lots of fertility *wink wink*, ideal to marry if your entire nation grieves the fact that their most beloved Rani never had children.
Meanwhile Kate is fed up with men who wants to marry her sister for the dowry they brought from India and thinks Anthony is merely indulging queen Charlotte by keeping the visiting Rani company
Yeah this could work
