Maybe it's the presence of Oberon, maybe it's her constant close proximity to Sabrina, but upon watching the parade she finds herself suddenly approached by a lone Girafarig, one that gently headbutts her core with a delighted bleat.

"Wh-? Ack! Hey, hey relax, I see you." She laughs, gently petting its snout as it tried to nuzzle her face. She scoffs, though, wondering why this giraffe of all creatures sought her out of this crowd.

As if by fate, the Girafarig winds up knocking an empty friend ball from her hip with its psychic power, and putting itself inside, absolutely insistent on going home with her. "I-... Ugh, absolutely incorrigible... Well, guess we're partners now, little girl."

"You mean Blue?? Hell no!!! She's just my childhood friend and rival!!" he fixes his bangs over his eyes, taking this little time to try to think of anything to say. "If I had a partner rest assured I'd let everyone know."

"Oh! I didn't think you would be at this rave tonight?" Lynn exclaimed as she recognized Sam nearby. She did pick up that he seemed to be agitated about something. Soo that left a couple of things she could remedy it with.

"Here...at least have something to eat," she said placing a wrapped rage candy bar into his hands. It was ironic considering the name of the treat, and yet Lynn knew that any sort of edible substance was the best answer to hangry moods. If that was the case.

The other... her rotom phone hovered nearby. "I don't know if you saw this, but check it out," with a view button presses the ambient screen clicked on displaying a short recorded video of the meloetta performing on stage not too long ago.

"I get it's not the same as being in person, but at least its something you know?"

"Oh hey. Yeah I don't know why I'm here. I guess I just wanted some crappy beer." Sam sighed as he took another sip. His agitation clear to Lynn.

Sam picked up the bar and opened it up. It certainly was a rage candy bar. He didn't even notice a vendor selling them on the way here but it wasn't like he was looking for them or anything.

He gave her a small grin as he took a bite out of it. "Thanks."

Sam watched the recording with mixed emotions. On one hand he was jealous about Lynn being able to to see it in person. On the other, he was glad that he did get to see it at all.

"Thanks, I feel a bit better now. I guess." Sam took a few more bites from his candy bar as he continued to watch it.

"Could you send me this video? It would be nice to have."

HAPPY YEAR OF THE GARCHOMP!

This is a dash event blog for the Sinnoh Lunar New Year Festival, which hosts the Sinnoh New Year's Race, where racers vie for the title of luckiest person in the world, based on old Sinnoh traditions!

As stated, this event is dashboard only and while there is a Discord available to all festival goers all events and interactions will be done on Tumblr only.

She nearly jumps into him to hug him and he grins, catching her in a hug and scooping his much colder arms under her legs to actually pick her up.

There's not a lot of space at the party. People were into the current track and he couldn't blame them.

He has to shrug at that. He didn't know he'd be here either.

People danced, and he set her down on her feet again.

He's overwhelmed by support, but he's beaming like the sun itself when he's seen on cameras. He's so utterly delighted about the win - it feels good to finally conquer an old foe like Mt. Coronet.

"Sosu, let's give 'em a show, yeah?"

The Drop and catch was such a daring maneuver, one not many riders- let alone their pokemon are trained in, but her and her ride pokemon for this race had formed such a close bond, she figured he was more then prepared for it.

Sides, if Sosu didn't catch her, Adniel would.

So she's sure to make a giant spectacle of what she was doing up on the mountainside facing Sunyshore city, where most people were gathering for the rave, flying up onto an outcropping of rock that was just long enough to get a vaulting leap off of.

She pets Sosu's nose a few times before whistling and instructing him to prep for the dive...

And then she runs full tilt for the edge, and leaps.

Inhuman speed sends her hurtling off the edge and into a total free fall dive off the side of Mt. coronet, head pointed at the ground as Sosu came around the side and met her speed, the two falling in unison as only sync'd trainer and pokemon could... And right before they both collided with the ground, Sosu swoops beneath her and catches her on his back, Rika landing prone on him and clinging to shoulders and back fin as they soared right over the gathering crowd, a small gust of wind following behind them.

Even if she was standing in 6th place currently, she fully intended to give these people a show. She didn't spend 11 years training Garchomp to not show off just how graceful and powerful they were.

Sabrina chose her for a reason, she's not about to let that be in vain.
