YES OF COURSE but just keep in mind i am a little rusty when it comes to spooky lore right now. too many new games are filling up the storage space in my brain but i think i can contribute some stuff. i'll start off with the host before moving on to the Specimen itselfI must admit that when I first heard the pretty-much-canon idea of the old man being the vlogger in endless I shat myself. But then I remembered geriatric1927 and how my grandma used to play Fruit Ninja and realized my shitting of myself is probably just ageism. Old man used to film abandoned buildings and it's fucking awesome until it isn't. I think from what you can read of the vloggers' notes, he seems to have a certain attachment to having an audience. Bro really starts a note off with "Hey everybody" and "Ok guys". I don't know why he stops after Specimen 12. I guess the mansion-in-mansion has something that bears off people's coping mechanisms.

Just to somewhat build upon the previous point, I want to spectulate on the old man's past a bit. The mansion controls the host to "attack with various means depending on the host's characteristics." I absolute do NOT think Protag ended up as anything near a new host instead of their own specimen, I think that theory is a bit poo poo. However, I do find it fun to compare these two ex-"typical humans" a bit. Specimen 14 is angry and stiff, at least in what most people picture them and what the Bad Ending somewhat suggests to me. Of course, most protagonists are just Like That, but from all that shit about Specimen 7 and "It Was Never A Mask" achivement name for the bad ending. Specimen 14's violence, to me at least, stems from rage and fear and the need to survive and tell these monsters who's boss based on a more stoic past personality. Old man's not like that. Maybe staying way too long in painted walls and floors fucked him up a little, but I still think that, with his vlogger persona and the way he talks, that he values his relationships with other people a hell lot. An extrovert, perhaps. I can't be sure. In any respect, this further explains how the mansion fucked him up.

Overanalyzing time, but I also find it interesting how in his Specimen 12 notes when he hears movements and voices downstairs he immediately goes: "Finally, other survivors. Ah yes. This is definitely some other survivors and it will be a Good Thing." He also acts like he's finally something to do whenever he first appears. It would be even funnier if he knows when and where you're hiding at times but just doesn't do anything about it because he deliriously thinks it's against the "rules" of the game he wants to play with you. I mean. There's this:

Old man has probably been reading "fake" books and eating "fake" food for at least half a decade. The food has probably permanently distorted his taste buds. Not sure about his speech, however. He probably tries to play pretend and conversewith the wall. or this thing. but still. the lack of another human intelligence articulating complete sentences to his face has likely signficantly deterioriated his ability to hold long conversations.

Stays in his area most of the time, but not because he likes it. He subconsciously thinks it to be a safer area than other parts of the mansion.

He is not friends with any of the Specimens. This includes Specimen 12 itself, as his possessed mind blocks out information regarding the mansion being the entity that is using him. He has no idea what has happened to him.

Old Man has never had a wife nor did he have kids. His parents died of natural causes a while after he went into the mansion. This is perfect for Specimen 12 because that means its host does not have to think too much. Yup!

Ok onto the Specimen itself

Not a spirit. Not an individual. Not a hivemind. Certainly an entity and not a natural force. Like Whiskers in Growing Your Grandpa, I believe Specimen 12 is something that grows depending on what happened in and around it. A tragedy canonically has taken place in it, and I think the vengeful souls that were lost during the massacre made it their duties to continue a cycle of violence and madness.

It has regretted the decision to move here. There are too little people and they always only come by themselves. There are not enough hosts to manipulate. To use so it can explain how they are planning to leave. Things are getting too slow and yes I am suggesting that the old man has the highest life expectancy a Specimen 12 host ever had. I think Specimen 12 used to be somewhere else, and bloodbaths were more often back then. A huge group of people would often come to investigate past atrocities or to challenge their friends, and crowds would come to be driven to paranoia and murder. After the entire area became restricted to anybody, there was no one. Specimen 12 moved to Spooky's after that, but kills are slow and scarce. It is currently stockpiling murdered souls for a trip around the world.

Flexible, but not very smart itself. Cannot quite find a balance to unnerve visitors while also compelling them to stay. It does chores. It does what it does to maintain its host and trap new victims. (UNNATURALLY GENERATED FOOD! eat it my bald middle-aged child) Not that smart about what to clean and what to keep. Sickle man's notes have been left for years and it did not ever think of cleaning them up. I think it is probably powerful enough to clean it up, but it doesn't. When you're trying to pretend to be a normal mansion so people would stay and get killed, you probably would think of cleaning that up. I think Specimen 12 a just a bit stupid, although that is partly due to it probably not having an actual mind of its own. kind of House of Leaves type shit, but nerfed (coconot make a horror-related post without mentioning house of leaves challenge)

Old Man's dislike of most other Specimens is put onto by Specimen 12, somewhat. Specimen 12 has a filter system of some kind, only letting in creatures that can either be killed by the host or become a new host. It does it by making other Specimens forget what they were visiting Specimen 12 for, if there are any possible reasons, however minute. It has to do this to protect its host, mainly. Also, some Specimens leave dirty prints and marks on the floor. There is not much it can do about what Old Man does outside the mansion, although Old Man is stuck connected with Specimen 12 until he dies. (Spooky can come, though. She does her monthly inspections and hangs up decorations sometimes. These decorations disappear about a week after they are put up, for some reason. )

Most Specimens don't want to find out what happens if they try to kill Specimen 12's host. They don't even know if it really gets angry, or just generates out consequences to further its own purposes. Nevertheless, interferring with Specimen 12 is an one-way ticket to a month of zero kills for themselves, as it will grow to lead visitors away from the offending Specimen.

The 12th key on the piano plays an unpleasant screeching sound.

So this took a few hours and I am not even close to being certain that most of this can fit the actual lore of spooky's. honestly, take it as it is. i wished i had more funny ideas, but "if Specimen 12 has no bathroom where does Old Man excrete" is not really appropriate. Not something I would want to write about. I have no more clue what to write.

Maybe this is a delulu line of thought, but why use this same phrase, verbatim, in a shared moment between Gwyn and Az, if it didn’t mean anything when it was also used in a very intimate scene between Cassian and Nesta?

I genuinely don’t understand how they can’t be endgame.

Also, Gwyn owns the Shadowsinger nickname now. Only she can refer to Az by that name with her charming irreverence to knock him down a peg or two 😩

They have such a potential for a friends to lovers story, filled with sassy banter, hand to hand training on and off the ring 😏 and friendly competition. They would push each other to be their best selves.

A/N: I’m high on a train and my first semester of grad school just ended so here’s a little ACOTAR headcanon for ya, as a treat. Stay tuned for more because I have a notes app full of half-assed ideas for this universe lol

The two of them have got taking care of you down to a science.

Azriel is usually the patient one, but when either of his partners is upset or hurt, it all flies out the window and his singular purpose in life is making them feel better. So when you return home at the end of a long mission, his first instinct is to use magic to streamline the process. To snap his fingers and remove your clothes and then winnow you straight into a hot bath.

But Cassian knows that when you’re feeling vulnerable, you need a little extra care and attention (plus, he likes kissing your pouty lips while he unbuttons your jacket), so he helps you undress the old fashioned way while Az draws the bath.

He takes his time, muttering “Arms up, angel,” as he pulls your sweater up and over your head and kneeling to unlace your boots for you.

When he’s done, he’ll plop a big, slobbery kiss on your forehead and shoo you into the bathroom where Azriel waits, clouded by lavender-scented steam with a towel tied around his hips.

His shadows always reach you first, swirling around your feet and ticking your ankles, coaxing a giggle from your lips. Az is never far behind, reaching out to take your hands in his and help you into the tub.

He pulls the towel away and settles in behind you, tugging you to his chest and slotting his legs around yours.

You wriggle until you’re comfortable, settling against him with a soft sigh. He tucks your head under his chin and drops delicate kisses into your hair.

“Doin’ okay, baby?” he murmurs. You feel his chest rumble along with his words and hum in acknowledgment.

“Yeah, ‘m okay,” you answer, letting your eyes flutter shut. “Now that I’m home.”

It doesn’t take Cassian long to join you, three mugs of tea clutched in one hand and a plate piled high with sandwiches balanced in the other. After he sets them down on the little side table, he sheds his clothes and settles in behind Az, slotting in like the final piece of your little puzzle. Az leans back to press a kiss to the underside of Cas’s jaw and you tip your head over Az’s shoulder, lips pouting in a silent plea for a kiss.

Cas chuckles and obliges, slotting his mouth against yours as best he can at that angle. With both of your boys wrapped around you, the mating bond sing, sending golden magic through your veins.

When the bath’s gone cold and your eyes are too heavy to try and open, your boys take you to bed. Azriel always gives up his spot as little spoon for the night and, with two sets of strong arms wrapped around you, you finally let yourself succumb to your exhaustion.

Rhysan using Mind control theory

As many who have read the series/researched it every which way to Sunday know, Rhysand possesses the terrifying ability to read and manipulate minds. This is something he does every time to Feyre or whenever he wants to communicate with someone. He has sent desires through this as well.

What if he used this to convince Feyre to choose him. Throughout ACOMAF we have seen Feyre go back and forth between choosing Rhysand and Tamlin, the self doubt, and hating herself for betraying Tamlin. She even had full on paragraphs calling herself a whore, noting how she was dressed the same way she had under the mountain. And it only increases more and more she thinks of Tamlin.

If he wanted to Rhysand could have amplified these small emotions of doubt to appear as the hero in Feyre’s eyes. He targeted her the second they met in the Spring court in ACOTAR and used their deal as an excuse to get close to her for his plan to work. Tamlin locking Feyre up (as inexcusably bad that is) to protect her was just the perfect opportunity for him to put it into action.

By using his power to take her from Tamlin in his own twisted version of revenge. Feyre would be none the wiser because the fake memories and emotions would be amplified the more she began to doubt if she was making the right choice.

It would explain why she thought writing a letter to Tamlin instead of a confrontation on neutral ground with security to end things, why she allows Rhysand to dress her up in fabric that barely qualifies as clothes, and may have made up his mother making those clothes for her as an excuse to get her to wear them. This could even extend to convincing her they are mates.

And every time she begins to come out of the spell he has her caught in her just needs to place a new one or a simple caress to convince her he ‘loves’ her.

There is a good chance all of this was due to the trauma he went through growing up and stealing Tamlin’s mate turned into a perverse love of not wanting anyone to have her and to make Tamlin suffer.

But then again it’s just a theory, a terrifying one but a theory not the less.

Maybe not in the Bayagototh family, but she and Deer Lord are definitely related. Or, Tirisiak just looked up to Deer Lord as a teacher. Almost every Spooky's fan headcanons them as kinfolk so of course I do too.

Instead of viewing the wolves as her children, she sees them as her equals. However, since they are not as strong as she is, she is very concerned with protecting them.

Nearly never changes facial expression. She's o_o all day long. Glad to see fanartists agreeing with me on that one!

Says exactly what she thinks. No euphemism, baby. While Specimen 8 says their lines somewhat due to their satisfaction in being majesticly mightier than everyone else (they have an ego of considerable size), Unknown Specimen 4 does it only to scare you. She wants to make you panic. When she first heard "Why do you run?" from Deer Lord she did not grasp the taunting nature of it. Despite this, she tries saying jokes and sharing memes with a complete straight face. She treats being funny like a task, the same with being fashionable, being pervasive, lying, etc. Call it neurodivergence, perhaps.

To spite people who "desire" her for whatever reasons due to her appearance, I say she is on the aro/ace spectrum.

Carves wood for fun. Maybe ice as well. Her necklace is homemade from beads of her victims. Might have carved her antlers.

Yeah that's about it.

a gwynriel thought/hc — both azriel and gwyn used to sing softly to themselves in their darkest moments; the humming and lyrics a quiet comfort. whenever either of them suffer through a nightmare, or something bad happens in general, they hold each other and sing/hum to comfort themselves. gwyn humming as she kisses the scars on his hands—azriel humming as he kisses the bruises from her valkyrie training. they make it a habit and a promise. they create their own song to sing in these moments of careful respite.

they sing their song to their children during every nightmare, every scuffed knee, every flying accident, et cetera.

Lucien believed Jesminda was his mate. He believed strongly he’d found the highest form of love, a mating bond with someone he actually cared for and who reciprocated those same affections. That was the highest standard of love for the High Fae, and he’d been blessed to have it.

With her tragic and horrific death, Lucien believed he had lost his greatest love. That was it for him. No other love would compare or measure up. He grieved a love, a bond and a mate. That’s an unimaginable pain, but he moved forward with life believing he’d never get to experience this kind of love or connection again.

Time (Decades? Centuries? I forget.) went by, and then:

Friends, his voice broke. Because for so long he thought his one mate was gone. Because he’d grieved the loss of the bond. Because he realized his one possibility of a mate’s love had not been buried with the female he loved, whose torture and execution he was forced to witness, as he thought it’d been. Because something so potentially beautiful as the mating bond holds such horrific trauma for him.

So no, Lucien WHISPERING (not yelling) to Elain that she’s his mate is not a claiming, a possessing. It is heartbreak, shock, surprise, grief, tainted hope and cautious understanding.

I refuse to believe SJM would then turn around and give this character a rejected bond and make him settle for something other. Because no matter what, it would be a lesser love for Lucien and he certainly doesn’t deserve that.

It’s the highest standard or nothing for our sassy fox 🦊

So I was thinking

Well, not thinking, I'm listening to the graphic audio of ACOSF and I'm in the chaper of Nesta hearing Gwyn singing and when she said "A faint glow" I was like 'hold up sis'

We know Helion sleeps around. We know he has one illegitimate son (hot fire sexy Lucien) and we know he-well, he is a play boy, let's not lie.

So, what if the glow in Gwyn when she sings is not because she is a lightsinger but because she is Helion's daughter and has his light power?

We are all expecting for the reveal of Lucien's parentage, and I am honestly waiting to hear more about Gwyn's life before Hybern.

Is this a crazy theory?

And if it's not a theory but a fact, how weird do you think it will be for Azriel and Elain when they find out their mates are actually half siblings?
