There's a lot of old unfinished works on my phone, and it just occurred to me that I want them archived somewhere! Have two years of old sketches, designs, and paintings! Remember not to judge yourself just by the drawings you finish, your skill is also equally built on all those abandoned projects sitting in your gallery somewhere <3

The end of DM? (just me ranting tbh)

I think hereby we can say that;;; unfortunately, yugioh has come to a close. the dm series that is.

as much as it breaks my heart to say it, i suspect seeing yugi animated again would wall for a miracle. (kaiba... i’m not so sure.) mainly because if we did ask for more, the people would have to milk out the story, which would result with bad ends. some things already dont make sense because of ryou’s backstory- for instance in the series he says his father brought the ring from egypt and send it to him or smth, especially, for him. But we’ve all seen something different in dsod

and though we may argue wether dsod is really canon or not, it does fit into the story, asside from that. however frigging shadi could have stopped diva because he’s been a ghost all throughout the series! so why only appear for yugi and co???

it just seems weird if it is possible just to prevent diva’s involvement in dsod, i could go on about how kaiba could have completed the puzzle in his space station(since if shadi stoped diva, diva wouldnt have stolen the pieces) and had to realize that the puzzle was empty- perhaps forcing yugi to put it on with yugi refusing to do so- but thats not what this is about

the spinoffs, though comical now that we look back to gx and also pretty cool (ughe 5d’s) are however losing their... interesting protagonists. Lets see, in gx we have jaden who turns into an evil demon lord, its actually pretty edgy so eh? in 5ds... i dont even know, yusei is just bae fuck it he’s cool, in zexal we get supersayans, in arc-v we got ‘satan is 4 boys and one of them is a little shit’ or something, and in vrains we just get a protagonist who was abused as a child.

and this is like... what???

no! Yugioh was about so much more than the cardgame! and the spinnofs only seem to go more and more about that anymore!

they always go more and more in the future! it’s tbh something that is boring!

Yugioh Dm wakes nostalgia because of the old computers, the vhs! it’s about motherfrigging Egypt! the spinoffs lose their touch because they dont touch upon the origins of the game as often as Dm did!

we’re just getting more and more new protagonists, ones that, despite them being cool, having.... usually cute or marvelous hair (except maybe tomato head) i cant find a connection to them anymore. its not familiar, its not an enviroment i know;

i’m not saying every spinoff should have the oldschool style of tech, but the ‘oh look at this floating hologram touchscreen’ is just...... no. sure its cool but its not nescecairy. let the rich people have that kinda stuff- or something

not just everyone- get some diversity!

anyway- im getting off track-

so yeah, because of reasons yugi’s story has ended to us. we can only fantasize what he’s going to do next.

tbh i’ll make it blunt, can we get an anime about the duelist of roses game?

it is the closest thing we can get to

1 fabulous castles, awesome rose gardens, battlefields- old tows and even as public entertainment to duel in

2 REAL MAGIC AND MONSTERS ACTUALLY BEING CLOSER TO PEOPLE- for example instead of mahaad, Henry yugi Tudor has a chaos magician or dark magician as his magic tutor instead

3 THIS

4 kaiba actually having 3 blue eyes and him taking care of them in their stables as if they’re his horses

5 new duel monsters that are like, not super complicated

6 Bakura being a pirate called Jackura (please)

it just agitates me they look on the future but not back into the past. they’ve already established the characters, they have the rough sketch of a storyline-

they have cool designs-

why? why are they not making this an anime??
