Post 3x02/pre-3x03 aka trying to smash a year’s worth of talking into a cool 2.5k

He looks the most beautiful in these moments, his rage magnificent and never ending. Hunger is a good discipline, and Michael has spent a lot of his life starving. Or, Alex climbs into Michael's lap and let's him to cling to him for an hour.

Why We Love It: Besides the amazing fact they communicate like two adults (in love) here, this piece gives us hope we can expect Malex healthy development this season. Alex is about to make a declaration of love, when they end up discussing Forrest Long and the conversation from then on is a statement of Malex being real, good for each other and sexy and full of emotions. A truly nice read for Malex fans.

Alex gets Michael to tag along to fix up an alien lead and they find something powerful.

Why We Love It:

Really there’s so much to love about this fic. Seeing Alex and Michael work together is always beloved. And this team up includes alien tech, actual communication, evidence of growth from both of them, and one hotel room. Oh and also a really fun alien tidbit that Alex, Liz, and Kyle have discovered and it’s just so good that we’re going to pretend it’s canon.

We won’t give away what happens with their trip and what they discover but there’s a beautifully hopeful ending that leaves you wanting more and also knowing they’re finally working towards the future they both have wanted for over a decade.

Why We Love It: Season three has come to an end with some ups and downs. Michael and Alex have finally stopped keeping score and are now communicating, listening and caring. It’s been quite the journey.

For whatever reasons there were many gaps in between their scenes and the development of their beautiful relationship is in the hands of our imagination. The author gives us some moments of Alex and Michael saving each other in times of trouble, ready to die for their soulmate if needed be, as well as some great descriptions of Michael using his great powers to defend their love. Also, we get to have declarations! This piece gives us that. They are together. They are meant to be. Our life is complete.

Why We Love It: This artist always mesmerizes us with breathtaking artwork, and this particular piece captures Malex finally reuniting with one another. We can all scream from the desert: “The pieces are finally together again!” This scene was such a gift resulting in Malex fans rejoicing across our fandom. We love the magic within this art; the colors, their quote, and the spot-on resemblance of these two characters. As much as we adored the kiss, this soft, sweet nuzzle between Michael and Alex reflected a peaceful, loving moment full of hope for their future—the artist achieved that beautiful embrace in this artwork.

We’re so grateful to all of the amazing artists in our fandom! Thank you for recreating these special moments for us.

I don’t belong here, not in this atmosphere

Michael gradually warms up to being part of the pod squad family. A spiritual coda to 3x10, but mostly a tween!pod-squad flashback.

Why We Love It: This was such a beautiful glimpse into the Pod Squad's past. Their beginning of coming together as a family. Michael's pain is palpable, and the support of his alien siblings, especially from Isobel, touches your heart. It's evident that the three of them have been through so much, together and apart. We appreciate more of their backstory and the ties created as a result. Witnessing Michael display his powers to Max and Isobel for the first time is exciting. A connection is made when Isobel mentions what she is capable of doing, too. Michael realizes he's not alone. Parallel to the show, it reveals the link from the past to the present, as Dallas is mentioned. These characters we know and love can be strong on their own, but as a unit, they're untouchable. The love between them has always been there. Also, Arturo remains to be the absolute greatest of humans!

Kyle wakes up in the hospital after the events of 3x04 to find Liz and Alex at his bedside.

Why We Love It:

I'm a sucker for Alex and Kyle friendship moments and this fic does such a great job at showing not only them, but Liz is there to add a little friendship as well. This is a coda for 3x04, but it definitely holds it's worth as more episodes air. We don't get enough friendship moments in the show and canon often falls short at showing people be there for their best friends, so fics like these are the perfect way to get that. It's very sweet and fitting and, like any good coda, I almost wish it would've happened instead. If you need a little Kyle being loved by his two favorite people, definitely check this one out!
