CHARACTER
Personality: Irene often looks at things differently, giving her a creative way in dealing with situations. Irene is not afraid of tackling challenges with a steady and unswerving determination, of course, with a successful outcome. Generally, once she makes up her mind about something, there is no stopping her, however she is willing to compromise. Because of her background, Irene has developed a strong sense of empathy, she's the first the team often to for comfort, advice or just wanting to vent. When it's the last two, she's listen carefully and offer her own opinion.
She is a blunt person and not afraid to tell people off, even if they had more authority than her. She has a sharp mind and is an impatient person, preferring to do things herself instead of waiting. She has a strong sense of justice and doesn't ignore people in distress. She can always come up with a smart remark, specifically in reply to most of the twins antics and attempts at humor.
Irene is a fiercely independent individual. When she was young she was often left alone in her house as her mother works overtime to provide stable money for them, thus learning to cook and clean in an early age, and relying on her wits and abilities to survive and thrive in hostile school situations. This independence is a testament to her strength and resilience. Irene is also a very strong-willed woman who often speaks her mind, showing little concern for the consequences. She will not shy away from intimidating opponent's by boasting her athletic prowess, sometimes even making threats. Irene's strong sense of justice and duty with those in need is shown by her sheer amount of mental fortitude.
She's often compared to a fox due to her mischievous and rebellious nature, she combines this playful nature with her extraordinary people-reading and manipulative abilities. Because she likes to watch people squirm, she often pulls off intricate, drawn-out pranks and tricks with quite simple ends. This has caused many people, such as Tanaka and Nishinoya to become easily terrified upon seeing her. If not partaking in such affairs, she shows interest in those who get her attention. Despite this, she is one of high ranking students in terms of school curriculum, in par with Shinusuke.
Back in St. Trinians, she was a proficient 'witch', often conducting sacrifices, potion making and other witchcraft. This still carried with her when she moved but she's more low-keyed with it, both not wanting to scare her new friends and knowing it might disturbed some of them.
Though it takes a while for her to get angry, when she is; the individuals who are within her vicinity can feel electricity in the air. Depending on the severity of what has angered her, she can either be simply irritated or become extremely scary, the latter also causing her to dispense "appropriate" punishment.
Juliette commented that her relationship with Shinsuke was a 'rivals to lovers' trope. There at first at odd with each other, Kita being a model student and Irene being a bit of a delinquent, they're rivalry started in academics but the sexual tension got worse when she and Juliette sign up to be the VBC's managers. They respected each other but still made jabs, the sexual tension reached it's peak when the had an argument in front of the team, once they were done they proceeded to make out, much to everyone's shock. Since then, they're relationship took a more playful turn, with Irene finding way to tease him and get him to live on the edge and Shinsuke making exceptions only for her and providing her stability she needs in life.
Likes: Family and friends, Shinsuke, witchcraft, samgyetang, gardening, reading, music, movies, gothic jewelry, slime, scented highlighters, hot springs.
Dislikes: Messing up her garden, the twins being too rowdy, entitled and toxic fangirls, entitled people, her father and step-mother, people thinking she'll be a snob, sundae(Korean sausage), cheating of any kind, normal unscented highlighters, dramas where they take back the toxic ex, perverts.
Hobbies: Gardening, skateboarding, gymnastics, singing, hapkido, teakwondo, fencing, hunting, witchcraft, cooking, reading, watching movies, candle-making, poetry writing,
Goal(s): To get two college degrees and marry Shinsuke.
Current concerns: "I'm not sacrificing Atsumu to Satan."

A few updates from Smart Doll Land. The freighter containing the last batch of Interstellar Blue ore has made it through the doppelganger stargate and will touch down soon. We can only make a few more blue frames for bodies, but we do have a tad more blue vinyl to make option heads, bewbs, and option hands. We plan to release blue option heads that include Fortitude, Timeless, Moment, Singularity, and a new "Golden Prowess." --- After much R&D, we finally managed to injection mold the frame in Metallic. We have prototyped vinyl in metallic too, and thus we will be rolling out the skin tone, "Multiverse Metallic" in the future. Multiverse Metallic won't be a long run like Interstellar Blue or Galactic Gray and was originally developed for cybernetic augmentations. --- Option Heads to be released soon are new skin tones - Starlight Tea, Mei Tea, Haruka Tea, Summer Cinnamon, and more. --- After a gazillion prototypes, the Adventurer Oxford Shirt R&D is finally complete and approved for production. --- I am reviving Smart Doll Plus because they are just too cute to ignore, and because the molds already exist - they just need a frame which I plan to injection mold. Besides, now that Japan is fully open again, I need some big smarties to display in Mirai Store, which I plan on reopening with conditions - announcement soon. Plus sized smarties being developed now are Fortitude, Valiant, Liberty, and Courage. --- We are preparing free boot patterns for you - you will need the 3D data for the lasts and sole - but if you prefer a more comfortable sole, you can buy some of the rubber soles that will be available soon. The patterns are revamped for folks with no shoe making experience - but you will still need experience reading apparel patterns. --- Free shipping is no more - the full story is available on the Smart Doll Online store - click the red banner in the header. --- The studio is becoming overrun with Transformers. I'm not sure what's going on, but I am sure there is more than meets the eye... #tokyo #smartdoll #anime #manga #doll #fashion #3dprinting #fashiondoll #design #madeinjapan #japan (at Mirai Store Tokyo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjubmN4hUUs/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Ariana Grande and Gender Equality
I, like anyone, enjoy pop music and music videos... and Ariana Grande has an amazing voice. I often find myself listening to the same music videos I like over and over. For example, two notable videos I’ve been watching right now are Doja Cat’s “Boss Bitch” and Ava Max’s “Kings and Queens.” I can’t get enough but the most recent on the list is Ariana Grande’s “34+35.”
I started to really like “34+35” until I heard what Ariana said at the end of the video at 2:46 where she says “math class, never was good.” Now, this may seem benign and innocent but this sentence is one pebble on a mountainous problem. I talk about the problem of gender roles and the portrayal of women in the media in my Gender Equality post but I have left the relevant section that I wrote about below. It’s necessary to read to my point at the end.
“As you can see by watching the beginning of “Seeing Allred” most women are ruled over mentally, it’s just less extreme at a societal level and we’ve been socialized not to see it. We call this mind control gender roles. These gender roles and social norms are observed and adhered to through the media which is what “Miss Representation” is about. Marketers are dictating our cultural norms and values made possible by relaxed advertising laws. The social pressures through the media are so powerful women don’t have the mental fortitude not to conform.”
This is nowhere more self-evident than in the classroom when it comes to women and math. Historically women have been told that they are not good at math, but that’s exactly why they are not good at math. If you want to improve your test score change your attitude. Those who have more confidence do better on tests. Through the constant barrage of people and the media telling women, they are bad at math is what makes it come true; like with much in life, it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Due to the way we treat women, women do better on math tests in an all-girl setting, having men present will lower their score. I make it a point to tell women with conviction “Women are better at math than men, just watch ‘Hidden Figures.’”
Women are not properly represented in the media. Only 16% of movies have the woman as the protagonist let alone a role about self-fulfillment through personal achievement rather than romantic. “Miss Representation” makes my point about The American Mirror Mental Disease (TAMMD) and how there isn’t a proper reflection for girls which has lasting, resounding effects throughout society. In layman’s terms, it's best put by Jane Fonda when she says “Media creates consciousness and… if that is determined by men we are not gonna make any progress.” The way we treat women in the media prevents them from holding political positions.
If we watch the media for a day it’s easy to see that it’s portrayed that a woman’s worth is in how they look. “Miss Representation” shows the pressure for women to conform to the male-dominated standard of beauty in the media. Women are measuring themselves to an impossible standard. Not only are the most attractive females displayed but they are digitally enhanced by photoshop and the like. Women are spending more money on beauty than education which is disempowering them. Due to the reflection they see in the media and told throughout society women see themselves as objects. The objectification of women leads to violence.”
The real problem is Ariana is perpetuating the stereotype that women are objects for sex and not smart in her music video with her comment at the end. The whole song is about having sex, she is dressed in lingerie at the time of the line, grabs her boobs after, and the quote is out of context and could have been left out. I feel like she went out of her way to dress in the male stereotype of an attractive woman (basically as a sex doll) and basically say “math is hard.” This seems like it would be an example taken right out of the documentary “Miss Representation” of what NOT to do!
I’m not the one Ariana is hurting but she needs to correct her mistake by exclaiming “math is easy for women,” because it is. Like most women, Ariana may not know she is perpetuating a harmful stereotype or that what she is doing may disempower women. I can only hope she learns from this and does a better job of representing women in the future.
