"An con artist inkling from the splatlands who for some reason shares the same looks as meggy, she's a polar opposite of the Splatchamp being lazy, cowardly and apathetic to most things, she makes her first appearance in SMG4: Detective Mario where Meggy gets framed for crimes and becomes the most wanted in by the Inkopolia Government, and Mario and Tari have to solve this mystery with the help of world renowned detective, Koopric Coppershell, not to mention Wendy seems to have a connection to Meggy's past clan heritage in the Splatlands, the name Zplatstar being 1 of the 2 fallen clans, where the Zplatstar Clan home burnt in a fire killing everyone in it... or supposedly at least"

meggy is technically a star child in smgpj

well i say technically because rather than born with the stars blessing like the og starcholdren were she was blessed by stars at a later point in her life during Stupid Superstar (which was also the reason her cracks blow and was responsible for mending her busted knee (the injury which was a result of the final battle at Tascorp) back in ROTM)

She also has ice powers as a result of Mario & Luigi: Hectic Hands thanks to a certain god (which also almost killed her and caused a localised ice age but thats a different story)

Meggy and Marie in Paper Jam definitely commiserate with each other over somehow ending up in charge of a group of lovable idiots (Team Blue and Deep Cut respectively).

I've been thinking about overhauling my Super Mario Paper Jam au since i've been thinking over some things

not gonna change a alot of things just a few plot points from here and there

another i'll be doing is replacing the lawsuit arc with another arc

one involving the world of light plot from sbu

Koopric Coppershell and Junior Detective Tari

In my smgpj au, Tari ends up part timing as a detective while also being a zoo keeper under the tutelage of Koopric Coppershell, a world famous detective during a ball at peach's castle that became a murder mystery when a minister from Sarasaland was murdered when the light's went out all of a sudden

Tari ended up accidentally solving the case when she pointed out that the way that the minister was murdered was odd since he was a Mouser but was stabbed in the back a single time, but somehow died in just a few minutes, with not that much blood spilling to lead to him to die that quickly

and thats how Koopric figure out that the killer wasn't aiming for the minister but someone else, a elderly inkling man, blah blah blah some exposition and a dramatic ass scene where the assassin a quivering Cheep Cheep attacks the detective only for the detective to bonk the mf in the face in shell form and gives Meggy and Mario the chance to restrain him later, Koopric offers Tari to be his apprentice with how impressed he was only for Tari to turn him down saying she's not really cut out for that life but Koopric instead gives her the offer to part time under him with some lessons in deduction

anyways thats how our beloved cyborgs life got a whole lot more exciting

for Wendy we at least have a reason to sympathies with her, she's got sever pyrophobia from losing her whole family in a raging inferno around the same age as Akari/Meggy who ran from home, which parallels well in they're respective stories, one used to look at the world with contempt but now looks at it with hope and optimism (Meggy) but the other used to view the world with hope but now looks at it with hatred and contempt (Wendy)
