So y’know how in the Undersnax segment of the game’s climax, if you make the wrong turn, the Snaxsquatch runs after you and it cuts to black? Yeah…

Bestie my dearest snorpy you know me. You have seen what I've done with this monster. For the uninformed, I have given this creature the name "Naul", after the Gaurdian of The Newmaker Plane. And Grumpus Paul. It is the scariest thing in the whole wide world.

Young Horses know exactly who the fuck is playing their game.

Naul is common Naul-edge (knowledge) now.... but Imagine, if you will. A blind playthrough of bugsnax. You are running through the game, snakifying grumpuses, getting used to the way it transforms. You know there's more grumpuses on the island, but you haven't unlocked all of them yet. This purple asshole just walked off into nowhere, so you know there's more to explore.

Just on the corner of your screen, you see a figure. You turn to look, but it's already gone.

Must've been a bugsnak. You'll catch it later.

You continue playing, and you see it again. This time you get a good enough look to realize it's person shaped. Maybe it's a snakified grumpus? Who is this? Why are they lurking? You've never seen a grumpus quite so snakified, but maybe that's just their "Thing".

Then "Snaxburg Gets Spooked." Happens.

NO MORE BUGSNAX.

What does that mean? Do the bugsnax not want to be eaten? Who could've wrote that?... does this have to do with the thing in the bathroom with Filbo?

....you get lucky.

You see it up close before you're supposed to. You realize, this truly isn't a grumpus, or a bugsnak... it might be made of bugsnax, but it's certainly not. It's an abomination.

And it's gone before you can blink.

You progress even further.

And in the undersnax.... it kills you.

If you go the wrong direction in the undersnax, it kills you. It's the only death you can experience in bugsnax. It resets you back like you reloaded your game, unlike any other way of respawning.

The realization, that Liz had a hand in it this whole time, that she created it, communicated with it, commanded it. It made me cry. I'm not even sure why.

Use the Snaxsquatch. It will heed your commands. It will write your words. It will be a fucked up little guy in your house.

I was working on some designs for the Majora's Mask inspired Bugsnax AU. First is the Snaxsquatch with a pumpkin crown thing that's acting as a standing for the Majora's Mask itself. Then there's a little Snak monster form of Budelyn that's kinda like Deku Link.

me, during my first bugsnax playthrough, sees something moving out of the corner of my eye and turns to look at it with my snaxcope: ohhh what is it? Maybe a new bugsnax? lemme scan it- the Snaxsquatch, staring straight at me, looking deep into my soul like it just saw me murder and eat its little squatch babies:

[Day 2]

Alexees came to check on Eggabell again. Since she couldn’t get her to come back to town, she wanted to at least visit her form time to time, just to check if she’s doing well. This time however was a little different. Her backpack seemed a little fuller than usual.

She pulled out a sleeping bag and a blanket out of it? Is she really going to sleep here???

Alex couldn’t really explain this idea. She just said that she wanted to keep her company at least this once. You know… being alone for a long time eventually makes you go insane. Some can handle loneliness much longer than others, but even a true introvert sometimes needs someone to just… be there.

Well, I guess it’s a good opportunity to cuddle a little.

The snaxsquatch was supposed to be a puppet for Elizabeth to use to keep an eye on the group, but given the fact that in late game its just kind of doing its own thing, even attacking the player— which elizabeth wouldn’t have asked it to do— implies that at some point it gains its own personality/consciousness. Tbh that might be a fun story to explore. The process from being an extension of elizabeth, to being its own little guy.
