Go on, give the people (Me) what they want. We all know you have that Marie Chevalier content.
Anyway, I love her and would willingly spend money on any merchandise with her on it. I wouldn't even care if it was a png of her model, I would eat that shit up.

The Late Best Games of 2022
2022 started out with a lot of doubts due to a suite of popular shooters not firing on all cylinders but thankfully by the second part of the year that bang to turn around. For me that was much needed – the time spent with friends in these games has been a huge part of my gaming life that it was missed. It didn’t stop me from finding a few gems to play over the months and some that have stuck…

GAME REVIEW - Sniper Elite 5
Tumblr media
SNIPER ELITE 5 brings together the best of old-school charm and modern aspirations in an enjoyable "so bad it’s good" gaming experience.
Developed by Rebellion Developments, this instalment takes players on a thrilling journey back to World War II, where they once again assume the role of Karl Fairburne, an elite American sniper. Tasked with sabotaging Operation Kraken, a mysterious Nazi project in occupied France, players are immersed in a covert operation filled with suspense and action.
The visuals are a treat for the eyes, showcasing the dedication of the development team with detailed environments and character models. While the overall design may have some shortcomings, the UI/UX design stands out as a shining example of excellence. It's a slick and intuitive interface providing a refreshing quality compared to the game's more outdated mechanics and design choices.
SNIPER ELITE 5 offers players sprawling sandbox environments, reminiscent of the recent Hitman series. These expansive levels encourage exploration and offer a multitude of approaches to completing objectives, ensuring high replayability. The freedom to choose creative strategies adds to the appeal. However, it's important to note that the game does have its flaws.
One area where SNIPER ELITE 5 falls short is the enemy AI. Despite the impressive sandbox design and engaging sniper gameplay, the enemy AI lacks the same level of excellence. Enemies often group closely together, making them easy targets and breaking the immersion of the game. Their behavior feels scripted and unrealistic, which can lead to an overly "gamey" expereience for players. Moments of unfairness, such as enemies head peeking, further detract from the overall gameplay experience. It's something that one would expect from other players in multiplayer lobbies, but not from AI opponents. It's safe to say that these moments can be quite unfair and irritiating.
The movement mechanics of ledges, ladders, and platforms are inconsistent, leading to an otherwise serviceable traversal experience. Sometimes, players struggle to jump down or off obstacles for no apparent reason, it's obvious that there are designated areas for jumping and grabbing. Moreover, the cover system, while functional, feels basic and clunky, making actions like taking cover and transitioning between cover points less smooth than desired. The maps, although vast and enjoyable sandboxes, suffer from noticeable and restrictive boundaries. These boundaries, such as barriers, fences, or blown-up cars, are clearly hand-placed by developers, which breaks immersion and limits player freedom in otherwise expansive environments. These obvious boundaries take away from the realism and sense of freedom within the game world. The movement controls feel rigid and reminiscent of older gaming eras, giving a tank-like sensation. The animations, both for characters and the environment, lack the finesse expected in a modern title. Some animations appear unnatural and can disrupt the experience.
SNIPER ELITE 5 brings a comprehensive skill tree, enabling players to progress and customize their playstyles. This adds a delightful sense of growth and personalization, making the gaming experience even more enjoyable.
Whether you prefer a stealthy approach or an action-packed one, the game offers the flexibility to choose, catering to a wide range of playstyles. Moreover, the rank system, medals, and ribbons for achievements further enhance the feeling of progression. By completing challenges and earning rewards, players are motivated to dive deeper into the gameplay, creating a positive and engaging experience.
The voice acting is like a bad soap opera! It's so dramatic, campy, and forced that it's hard to take it seriously. This warps the experience and makes it difficult to really get into the story. Although now thinking about it, again it sort of adds to the charm and over the top almost 80's B-Movie charm the so bad it’s good territory. The game doesn't acknowledge your loadout choices in the cutscenes. It’s a small niggle but it’s a surprising omission.
SNIPER ELITE 5 is a game that perfectly captures the highs and lows of gaming throughout the years. It pays tribute to the stealth action genre while simultaneously struggling with outdated mechanics and design choices. Despite its flaws, there's an undeniable charm in the game's imperfections, creating a lovable experience.
To sum it up, this game is a showcase of brilliance amidst missed opportunities. Its vast sandbox environments, skill tree progression, and replayability offer glimpses of greatness, but the game's antiquated mechanics and animations, AI problems, and lack of polish hold it back from reaching its full potential.
For die-hard fans of the series or those who want a nostalgic trip down memory lane, this adventure might just hit the spot. But for those seeking a flawless, cutting-edge gaming adventure, this title might fall short of their high expectations. So, let's keep our fingers crossed for Sniper Elite 6, where hopefully they'll take aim and hit the target dead center.
