I watched ManlyBadassHero play the indie game Pizza Ghest years ago, and I think about it randomly all the time, so I finally made some fan art of it that does it justice! (I tried last year, but it didn't turn out so great in my opinion.) The visual style of the game is incredible. <3 The story is fun and cool, and the characters are unique and I love all their designs~ The game is made by bagheads. So in case you're obsessed with the visual style (like I am), they're still making games, so go check them out! Here's a link to ManlyBadassHero playing it. Meet Mema!!! AKA Megaquirópteros Malévolos.

Basilio "BAV" Aiza-Villa | He/Him | Adult | FTM Basilio Aiza-Villa grew up deeply rooted in pro wrestling culture. After saving enough cash while working at his family’s restaurant, Basilio enrolled in a wrestling training program at La Federación de Combatientes de Oaxaca (FCO). He then went through a rigorous training program coordinated with FCO and AOR (Assailants of the Ring).  He then trained for four straight years until he showed great promise to finally make his debut as Megaquirópteros Malévolos.

Megaquirópteros Malévolos’s debut match was against the seasoned rudo, Lagarto Poltergeist. The two rudos fought over whose evil spirit was strongest. Megaquirópteros Malévolos was victorious in the first round, but Lagarto eventually won the match by defeating him during the second and third rounds.

During the aftermath of their match, Lagarto showered Megaquirópteros Malévolos with endless praise, saying his form was excellent, his speed was perfect, and his agility was impressive. Megaquirópteros Malévolos had just met Lagarto and was shocked that he was a kind soul outside  his ring persona.

The only thing that bothered Megaquirópteros Malévolos about Lagarto’s praise was that he would call him “Mema” instead of his pro wrestling name. When he confronted Lagarto about this, Lagarto cheerfully told him “I’m sorry, I make up nicknames for everyone here. I have trouble remembering everyone's names. Mema also makes a better crowd chant too, yes? Me-ma Me-ma!”. Megaquirópteros Malévolos knows Lagarto is right, and allows him to continue to use the nickname Mema, even during their matches.

Today, Mema spends his training hours with Lagarto. Together they work on perfecting their in-ring rivalry, as to who will become the strongest rudo spirit. --- I submitted the above illustration of Mema vs Lagarto to a small print publication, called Dog Bowl Zines. ^_^ I spent a lot of time designing and creating the VS artwork, I'm surprised I completed all of it in less than two weeks... very very motivating. ^_^ I also gotta thank my friend Beavie for helping me refine the commentary in the VS artwork. <3

Okay, so I'm working on a lot of different art projects right now (two drawings for old friends, two more wrestling OCs inspired by Sukeban, eventually outlining older sketches (and shading them too), and fantasy art because I'm head over heels for fantasy stuff right now). BUT I redesigned and finally fleshed out this old OC and gave him purpose! His name is Daigo, and his companion is Ayano (who rests across his shoulders). His story is currently complex and a work in progress (the same goes for Ayano), so for now, I will share what I typed up for his Art Fight bio:

Daigo (he/him) was once a cursed, enraged demon. The curse placed upon him shrouded him in an overwhelming anger. Daigo fought against the curse's veil, to combat the rage that was beginning to seep into his soul, but it was too late. He was trapped by the shroud and left to rot. As time slowly passed, he succumbed to the curse and used the rage that was building inside him to break free from the entrapment. He was free, but his mind had been driven mad by all the time spent trapped within the shroud. Daigo brought chaos and harm to anyone who crossed his path until he was greeted by Ayano. Ayano was a wandering water elemental who used her abilities to soothe Daigo's rage. She was able to calm his soul, which ended up breaking Daigo's curse. Finally free, Daigo was able to find himself again, and slowly find a life of peace. Daigo now spends his time in a small mountain home, learning about teas and tea ceremonies. He also spends his free time by the coastline, hoping to trade his teas for different tea varieties. Daigo does not know who cursed him or the specifics of the curse used on him, but Ayano knows about such dark magic. She has decided to guard Daigo to make sure that the original curse caster does not return to inflict more damage. (Ayano is the dragon resting across Daigo's shoulders btw. She will have her own profile on Art Fight after character art is created for her.) Daigo (and Ayano) exist in the same world as Fauke and Stein. Eventually, they will cross paths, and Daigo will join Demonstein, hoping to encounter the curse caster in the hopes of bringing retribution upon them. Ayano will be hesitant to join, but eventually agrees in order to continue to protect Daigo.

I spent a month working on Daigo/Ayano, and I think it really shows. I hope to be able to carry this much effort into my future works, including trying to shade my art, even if I hate it, I'll still try to practice it till it makes me happy. Childhood me is so happy that my art is looking more like the comics we loved to read when we were growing up. I love drawing, and I'm always thankful for my journey as an artist. & I'll keep going!!!

Happy (Late) Valentine’s Day! 

Here are some unfinished sketches I was working on featuring my Valentine’s Day Demons! (Valentina (holding the card) & Valentino (holding a plushie))

I don’t think I’ll finish them for a while tho... I’m currently mourning the loss of our pet dog, Toto, who passed on this Valentine’s Day... (working on these does help take my mind off the pain of losing our little man... but I’m conflicted, even posting these...) Creating art really does help me though... just really sad to say goodbye...

Here are a few more wrestling characters I started! 

First, is Umeko Fujimoto, a joshi-puroresu wrestler with a Y2K theme and UFO obsession. Next, is Marialena Dufort, a princess-themed wrestler with a lackluster attitude. And third is Súcubo, a lucha rudo with a “succubus” theme. 

Once they’re done, I’ll introduce you to them! (I’m still working on the backstories for Súcubo and Umeko. Umeko will be on Art Fight, so I have to finish her before the end of this month, lol.)

Umeko is brand new, a 2022 OG-OC. I was born in the 90s, grew up in the 2000s, so this was a blast-from-the-past type of design for me. I didn’t know how much I would adore her till I finished her sketches. <3

Meet Umeko Fujimoto, AKA Alien Heart!

Umeko Fujimoto (she/her) is a UFO-enthusiast, joshi-puroresu pro wrestler!

Before becoming a wrestler, Umeko was a socialite who turned into a hikikomori after feeling overwhelmed by societal standards. During her seclusion, Umeko had a dream where she was greeted by an alien. It urged her to break out of her internal turmoil and to live life to its fullest. With the alien's persuasion, Umeko was able to live a happier life. She auditioned, trained, and eventually signed with AOTR (Assailants of the Ring, based in Tokyo, Japan) at age 17 and had her pro wrestling debut at 19. Her crowd approval was enormous, and she’s been regularly booked ever since. Umeko has also been able to create her own merchandise through AOTR. These products mainly feature a cartoon character depiction of Umeko. Umeko has been known to alter her own products to match her streetwear style.

In Umeko’s spare time, she likes to research aliens on the internet, go shopping with her friends, and play claw machine games. She’s especially fond of claw machine games where you can win UFO-themed prizes. If she wins a keychain, she will attach it to her phone, purse, or belt; rotating her keychain collection to match her daily outfits.

Yay she’s done!!! Whooo~ ^_^ I sorta rushed making her backstory tho, because I wanted to get her up onto Art Fight ASAP. I really enjoyed making her cartoon caricature! Little Fun Fact: Umeko wrestles in the same promotion as Kohaku Wakahisa-Vera!

Here are some more unfinished characters (and one that's mostly finished) that I've worked on from January through March. 1). Frauke redesign(s) of the current Frauke armor and of the more traditional Frauke bone armor. I am thinking of rewriting Frauke's backstory and giving the amulet that she wears a personification or something... just a thought for now. I also decided to change her weapons to two short swords instead of the great sword. 2). Ayano's current design. I have planned a few other design options, but haven't sketched any of them yet. Her backstory is also still a WIP, so more on that once it's actually finished... 3). & 4). REIN redesign WIP. Showed his original creator and she said "He seems younger here, before 90+ fatal injuries". In the past, we discussed the ownership of REIN, and I was told he's basically mine in a way, so that's why I gave him a wild new coat of paint at the moment. Now, I gotta finish him up... just like the rest of these... (Just drew him the other day tho, so he's the most recent WIP. Also felt like giving him color, so there is the color version (for now).) 5). & 6). Hattie's final linework for her wrestling outfit. I still need to outline the casual outfit and her mechanic outfit tho... I've been working on/off the same sketch of Hattie since 2022... 7). & 8). Kohaku's redesign. I think I need to improve a lot on her most recent WIP of her wrestling outfit, but for now, I just wanted to show that I have been working on her... I think more "armor" elements would really help, but not sure how to go about that yet... also not sure if I should keep the purple in her design...

I also worked a bit on my first D&D character, Eros Borgia. I think if I ever finish this sketch of him I will include his stats and make a character sheet or something like that (found the old one on my hard drive so I have all the old info).

At long last, I can say he's a Chaotic Good Fighter. ^_^

Kinda feeling like shit atm, but wanted to share these.

I got to play some Baldur's Gate 3 a few weeks ago. ^_^ But I don't actually own the game... 😅 My love does tho, and they let me try the character creator, which is all I wanted to do, but was later encouraged by them to actually play the game. (And with that, I started a new obsession with drawing fantasy art!) Here are some attempts at remembering what my character looks like from memory. His name is Jade, and he's a Zariel Tiefling Druid (wanted to try playing a Druid cause I was too intimidated in past rpgs that I've played, only to realize later on that I picked the Fire Tiefling subrace...😅). I failed my first-ever roll but got a nat 20 when meeting Us, so to commemorate my achievement, I drew that moment from memory as well. (Currently in the process of outlining the Us encounter, but felt like posting the sketch.) --- Jade has managed to receive the "himbo" label because when I failed my first roll, he just looked big, buff, and very confused, and my love called him a himbo. 😅 I haven't decided if it'll stick tho, but it might, since this is my first time playing any rpg in years. (AKA, I'm already pretty confused about gameplay and often get tips and hints from my love when I need them.) I also now have a painful yearning to play Diablo 2... we had it growing up on the family computer, and I think I made a Sorceress...

I would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who messaged me and attacked me this year! <3 <3 <3 You helped make this Art Fight a very special one, and I look forward to participating again next year! <3 ^_^ --- Gonna take a second to get a little emotional and document a bit of my Art Fight experience. My lovely friend, supsarahbear, actually introduced me to Art Fight by sharing a TikTok of it with me. I realized then that I had to participate. I love OCs, and I love seeing how others use their skills to create their characters. But what I love more is getting to draw art for others (it just fills my soul with special kinda happiness). So I made a few OCs and attacked a few characters in 2021. I set a goal to make one attack per week (and I finished a total of 5). I had a blast and knew I would continue to participate in the following years. Then, I was unable to in 2022, because of a family event, and eventually, burnout from that family event. (I was only able to make one attack that year.) But this year, even with another family event, I was able to participate and pass my self-made goal of creating 5 attacks (I made 6! ^_^) in record time (took me about two weeks total). I'm not known for being a fast artist, and that's something that got hammered into my mind while I was in uni. "You need to work quickly" kinda rhetoric. I'm also not known for shading or even outlining my artwork (outlining really bums me out). But every Art Fight, I say, f*ck that, and I make an effort to try to shade, outline, and even make compositions. I'm really glad I try because I can see myself growing as an artist, and that's cool as h*ll. Art Fight has given me a chance to expand my skills as an artist, and I'm forever grateful for that. My uni self would be so proud of how far I've come during the two weeks I participated in Art Fight, so to them, this bit is for you: You can do it! You did it! You've got the skills! Don't forget! Keep going! <3 <3 <3 I'll be able to look back at this post and remember this amazing experience. I really want to remember this. <3 Please don't forget that you've always been an artist, and you always will be an artist, no matter what. <3

Broke through some art block the other day by revisiting & redesigning Rein a bit. Rein belongs to my friend moonlightpink on Discord.

Rein is a man mentally torn apart by wars he has witnessed and battles he has lived through. He struggles to endure constant torment, often barely holding on to what little sanity he has left. In the past, I have drawn sketches of Rein where he was fighting or getting beat up, but this time, I was inspired to draw him having a moment of peace. (Channeling some of that Dark Souls “Humanity Restored” energy.) I adding in some “motion” to the background to simulate the soft breeze traveling through his hair. This is a WIP, cause I forgot to add in some details (like his chest hair, & I gotta maybe fix the perspective of his broadsword on his back too...) so I might come back to finish him later. I feel grateful tho, I got to channel some of my feelings into this one (I spent a full week in complete terror and fear, but my fear is gone now, and I’m finally able to rest and have my moment of peace).

I finished my valentine of Valentina a few days ago. I also made a version with a black heart and text. I like that one too, so I included both here. I’m still working on Valentino’s sketch, but I think this is pretty close to where I want it to be.

Trying not to let my depression get the best of me right now. There’s been a bunch of ups & downs these past few weeks, but as of this moment, I feel like making a zine. ^_^ Just gotta figure out what to make. :P
