As much as I rag on this story for implying Jason’s trauma-induced spidey-senses activate when the joker walks into the room, there was some rare mockery of Bruce’s side of the ever-so-tiresome morality debate.

Like, ah yes,

the pinnacle of morality

#the batfamily way #anytime somebody says Bruce *just wants* to help the people he confronts and his heart bleeds for them #a silly little montage plays in my mind of Bruce just absolutely tenderizing his adversaries #if there’s anyone who hasn’t thought through his moral stance it’s Bruce with his polarizing behavior #he makes sure some dudes’ hands will ‘never work again’ in batman & robin 20 #he revels in watching deacon blackfire begging to make it stop while he beats him to a bloody pulp #smashes a dude’s skull against a brick wall #so many comics/media explicitly show that Bruce has no qualms about tormenting people to get what he needs #and he does it with a smile on his face #not trying to claim this makes him unlikable as a character #just that maybe he shouldn’t be held as the gold standard for moral goodness #dc’s scramble to make Batman simultaneously a saintly little angel and the toughest badassest vigilante who is unbeatable #call that the Real morality debate #my post #tw gore #tw blood
