#kelseethe#of all the panels people can take at face value why is it always the rhandto ones where Jason is miserably wallowing in self-loathing#not only does ​he say that after one of the worst moments of his life#and he looks like he's on the brink of crying in the panel before that one#but also it’s nowhere near as true as I’d like it to be#sure you can argue that ALL the bats are traumatized and dysfunctional 🤪#but there’s still the question of who routinely swallows their non existent pride/self-respect#to try to cooperate with the lot of the selfish hard-headed bastards#like god I *wish* he evaded the bats more often and was busy with his clever little fuckery schemes in gotham#or give us another lost days type story Idfk#it would be a fucking ball if dc would remember every now and then that they can do other things with Jason#besides having him be Bruce's resident lab rat/punching bag/concerned mother/wife figure#in between random ass stories like the hill where he's barely present or doing anything important#especially when there's | never | going to be any payoff for whatever fucked up thing he endures when he's with the bats
