Every time I think about how much I adore Mankai Stage Act 2 Winter 2023, I inevitably think of this one CM that is so balls to the walls hilarious, especially if you have absolutely no context about a3! at all and know absolutely 0 Japanese
youtube
Like it starts off so normal with It Happened one Quiet Night but the camera slow pans to Teruma's (Guy) deadpan face during the number and????? Like what???? But then you also realize that no, it didn't start off normal at all because Maekawa (Tsuzuru) slid across the stage to get to his position?????? Kitazono (Tasuku) whose in the same position just walks there like normal but noooooooo Maekawa has to slide there bc he's extra like that. Also the spin that Maki (Tsumugi) does is cute. Very cute. I miss Maki
The tonal whiplash between Chikage announcing what Citron requested of him and True Feelings is also just??? What????? And the hilarity of having no idea why there's sad somber music while some dude is sitting on the floor hugging a bag of super marshmallows like it's his lifeline while the other guy is giving him absolutely no personal space at all is peak
The rest is pretty normal but the editors choosing to cut off the Mika introduction scene with Ryosei (Homare) laughing so awkwardly is such a choice that is so silly, it transcends language barriers. The decision to also specifically play the small song number where Chikage disses Itaru (Tateishi isn't even in this production he can't even defend himself poor dude) for coming along is just. Skkfgk I can't.
The editing decisions that had to happen for such a masterpiece to come out is just beautiful. I love Winter 2023 and this CM is my favourite of them all

Top five songs?
Oh God, I wrote up basically a whole response to this and tumblr ate it 😭
(Update: Tumblr ate it *again*. Kill meeee.)
Anyways, onto the list!
5:
youtube
me, to me: kill the part your that cringes, kill the part of you that cringes.
In my opinion, the kpop is the height of pop, and GFRIEND was (rest in peace) the height of kpop. I realize they're very much... *that* (their name in Korean is literally just the Korean name for girlfriend), but god, they're so good. I love basically every song they've ever made. Although they did sucker me with the classic parasocial whatevermans (sinb my beloved), I loved them before I could distinguish any of them from each other. I have other, less embarassing faves (Dreamcatcher and Blackpink), but I never liked them as much as I liked GFRIEND.
This song is... probably my favorite, but I loved basically all of their songs. (Including a song that is like, 200% less embarrassing, so I deserve to be congratulated for not wimping out and picking that one.)
4:
youtube
Once upon a time (see: in high school), this was my favorite song, by my favorite band. If I was to pick my favorite song now, it would probably be something off of Hybrid Theory, or maybe the album with Jay-Z, but I'll keep this out of a respect for history.
3:
youtube
After Linkin Park, my favorite band in high school, we have Battle Beast, which is probably my favorite band right now. I love Battle Beast—they exemplify so much of everything I love about metal. Which is to say, the just raw earnestness of it all. It might be lame and silly but there is not a trace of irony to be found here.
I love basically all of Battle Beast's songs on all the albums that have Noora as the vocalist (aka all albums but the first), but this song is probably my favorite.
Also, I love Noora with my entire heart. I love the way she sings so much. The way I've described it before is that she sings like a male lead vocalist, except like, better, which is just so :just right emoji:.
2:
youtube
(Read "soba ni iru ne", meaning something like "I'm by your side".)
This is probably my favorite Japanese song. I actually fell in love with it way back when—when I was in high school, and knew roughly zero Japanese. I learned the song phonetically by singing along to it over and over again, which was a very bizarre surprise when I finally knew enough Japanese to understand it, and played it again, because I found myself speaking words and understanding them for the first time *as they were coming out of my mouth*. A truly bizarre experience, would recommend.
Also, this song. I still love it. Alas, none of Aoyama Teruma's songs really grabbed me, which is a bit of a shame and also kind of sort of my experience with most pop.
1:
youtube
(Specifically this version: the chanmina remix.)
This song the soundtrack of my trans realization. It's not trans (like, at all), but it was the song I was playing on repeat when I drove down to Santa Barbara and first seriously considered that I was trans, and for that, I will always love it. Listening to it really takes me back to that point in my life (which is good, because it was a very happy time—the misery came later).
Pay Attention To Me!

SOUMA-HEN 2021 CAST
Hi, humans and oni, all fans of Hakumyu!
Since Souma-hen is a thing again I’ve recovered my original cast announcement post and updated it. The info about the actors is a mix between what I’ve found about them and info from the official cast page, but I haven’t included every past myu/stage play in the official info, so I’d recommend checking it if you’re interested in seeing more of any of these people.
Without further ado, I present you the official cast for the 2021 version of Musical Hakuoki Souma-hen:
Mizuki Umetsu (梅津瑞樹) is Kazue Souma
28 years old, his Twitter is @MizukiUmetsu, and he’s been in Musical Touken Ranbu and the Sanrio Boys stage play .
Risa Matsuzaki (松崎莉沙) is Chizuru Yukimura
She’s a member of Roys, a Japanese female duo chorus group. Playing Chizuru in this myu will be her first time as an actress. Her Twitter is @risadegozaimasu and she’s 24 years old.
Hidetoshi Kubota (久保田秀敏) is Toshizo Hijikata
Has worked in films and dramas before, also has myu/stage play experience (Sengoku Basara stage play , Moriarty the Patriot myu, etc.). He’s 33 years old and his Twitter is @kubotahidetoshi.
Shuji Kikuchi (菊池修司) is Souji Okita
First difference with the 2020 cast! Shuji Kikuchi replaces Shogo Yamazaki, who first appeared in Hakumyu in Shitan Hijikata-hen. He’s 25 and his Twiiter is @kutisyu. He’s been in some stage plays before, like the Pirates of the Frontier UtaPri stage play .
Shoichiro Oomi (大海将一郎) is Hajime Saito
His Twitter is @shoichiro_oomi. The protagonist/”your” character in the Fate/GO Babylonia Myu, also has some experience as a seiyuu (in fact google doesn’t list him as an actor but as a voice actor) and is/was in a group called "Hi! Superb"
Yuta Higuchi (樋口裕太) is back as Heisuke Todou!
His first Hakumyu was Shitan Hijikata-hen! He is 25 and he won a Junon Superboy contest (Most Photogenic) and according to Anime on Stage he’s been in other myus/stage plays, like Ensemble Stars and Yona of the Dawn. According to the cast page he’s been in  Ao no Exorcist and Hitman Reborn stage plays too. His Twitter is @higuchi24yuta.
Ryousuke Koike (小池亮介) is Nagakura Shinpachi
Second change in the cast, he’s replacing Yuta Kishimoto, who was Nagakura in both Shitan Hijikata-hen and Shitan Kazama-hen. He’s 25 and his Twitter is @ryosuke19951117. He was Akito/Agito in the Air Gear myu, and according to the cast page he wants everyone to think that Nagakura Shinpachi is cool (literally, 「永倉新八カッコいいな」kakkoii and everything)
Shouta Kawakami (川上将大) is Sanosuke Harada
He’s been in Tenimyu, Rice on stage, Hitman Reborn and Touken Ranbu stages/myus, among others. He’s 27 and his Twitter is @rjpmission. An anecdote: a few weeks ago someone I follow on Twitter went to see Rice on stage and he was one of the actors performing, which made me wonder if Souma-hen would happen since people from the cast were working on other things and I supposed that meant the situation in Japan was good enough to resume events like stage plays, included those that had been cancelled.
Teruma (輝馬) is back as Keisuke Sannan!
Sannan since Hakumyu Reimeiroku, he’s been in Kuromyu (William T Spears), Bungou Stray Dogs stage play, the Nanatsu no Taizai stage play and Tenimyu. His Twitter is @teruma_060 and he’s 31.
This makes me really happy! I still prefer Ryosuke Mikata, but he’s showed that he deserves the role, so I hope he stays in Hakumyu for many years to come! And I’m still mad that Teruma wasn’t in the Tango on the Campania Kuromyu...
Taizo Shiina (椎名鯛造) is back as Susumu Yamazaki!
First appeared in Shitan Hijikata-hen, and he’s been in some Sengoku Basara and Danganronpa stage plays, among others. He’s 34 and his Twitter is @TaizoShiina.
Taira Imata (井俣太良) is back as Isami Kondou!!!
Best dad since Okita-hen (second Hakumyu) and by this point, everyone’s senpai, what else can be said about this man??? If you’ve watched any Hakumyu other than Saito-hen, you already know him. Great man and actor, he’s 45 and his Twitter is @TAIRANT1975.
These are the characters/actors & actress that I covered in my first Souma-hen cast post. I actually wrote another one with the rest of the cast, but thanks to a broken mouse the whole post got deleted when it was almost finished. Time to redeem myself!
Syuya Sunagawa (砂川脩弥) is Saburo Miki!
Replacing Allen Kohatsu in the role of Miki, he’s 26 and his Twitter is @suna_syu_. It’s his first time in a musical, but he’s in the Kamen Rider Zero One drama. According to the Kamen Rider Wikia, he won the Avex Boys Award in 2016.
Masashi Sonomura (園村将司) is Risaburo Nomura!
He’s 22 and he’s @masashisonomura on Twitter. He’s been in Tenimyu and has done some stuff on TV (the cast page lists some things but I’m not familiar with them ;_;)
Masafumi Yokoyama (横山真史) is Kyuju Amagiri!
He’s 34 and he’s @masafumi21yoko on Twitter. He’s been in Touken Ranbu, Ikemen Sengoku and Toki no Kizuna stages. And as my friend and Amagiri’s biggest fan Lawrichai pointed out, he played Amagiri’s grandpa/relative in the Toki no Kizuna stage.
Takuma Sueno (末野卓磨) is back as Kyo Shiranui!
He’s 36 and he’s @sueno0724 on Twitter. His first Hakumyu was Shitan Kazama hen. Has been in the Sengoku Basara stage play and the Rantaro Shinobu myu (this one wasn’t that long ago so I remember seen funny pics of this on Twitter).
Hiroyuki Kawamoto (川本裕之) is back as Kodo Yukimura!
Egg dad since the times of Harada hen, he doesn’t have a Twitter account and apparently there isn’t that much info about him on Google D:
And... drum roll a big round of applause for our returning demon, the original, the one and only, SHOGO SUZUKI (鈴木勝吾) AS CHIKAGE KAZAMA!!!
I already spoiled this in my Souma-hen is back post but I’m sooooooooooooooo happy to see him back. He’s @Shogo_Suzuki_ on Twitter (where he’s posted photos of his Hakumyu-watching sessions more than once),he’s 31 and he played Kazama from the very beginning in Saito-hen until Live 2. During his absence from Hakumyu he didn’t stop acting, some of you may remember my post about his appearance in the Moriarty the Patriot myu.
Not that I dislike Yoshihide Sasaki (Hijikata in Reimei, and Kazama in Harada-hen and the 2020 Souma-hen cast), but I will always see him as my dear Viscount Druitt from Kuromyu. And let’s be honest, Shogo has his “own brand” of Kazama. He took the character and made it his own, having a unique way of portraying him and enjoying every last bit of it.
And that was the complete main cast! This time we had all the info from the start so I don’t think a follow-up post will be necessary.
As an ending note, I would like to dedicate this post to Serizawa’s actor, Akira Kubodera, who passed away last month. I’m sure he would love to see that everyone has been hoping for Souma-hen to return and that the Hakuoki Shinsengumi, or at least its spirit, can’t be defeated.

Hello, I hope you are doing well! One of my favorite actors from the Kuromyu cast is Teruma. What are your thoughts about him?
【Related Post: Teruma Impersonating Furukawa Yuta】
Dear Anon,
I am doing fine, thank you very much! I hope you too!
Teruma is very funny and I’ve come to appreciate him a lot.
2010 - MBD Nagaoka
At the beginning of my Kuromyu fever (2010) I warmed up to Nagaoka’s portrayal of William. Though his singing was not great, I thought he portrayed a pretty accurate William otherwise. He was serious and very stoic, I liked that.
2013 - MBD Teruma
Then the rerun of 2013 happened, and suddenly Teruma replaced him. It’s not that I can’t deal with change, trust me. But going from an acceptable William to a ball of anger was a bit hard. At the beginning I really disliked Terulliam. He was just so angry and shouty, not just stiff or stoic.
The overall tone of the musical was also quite wacky while it also tried to deal with really serious problems... I.... it had tone problems, okay? (But I guess by now everyone knows I hate that musical.) So between all the melodrama and the (failed) comical aspects, one shouty William just didn’t do it for me. Teruma seemed too negative to be the stoic and soulless William. Plus, his singing might have damaged a few of my windows.
2014-15 - Lycoris that Blazes the Earth
Tumblr media
His second appearance was in the Lycoris that Blazes the Earth. He did not improve much between the two runs, so here I refer to both performances. In this musical run he was still very much the angry William, but because the tone of the musical is very different, the anger of Terulliam seemed fitting. The score they chose for William clearly capitalised on the anger and wrath of this Fury!William, which is not really canonnnnnn, but it did mean that Terulliam fitted in the production better.
NOT CANON here however, is no criticism (see Furukawa going just that extra mile and ended up influencing Yana). Though Terulliam in Lycoris was quite different than the canon version, it did add a nice little zest to the musical which benefited the production in my opinion. It was just a bit of a shame that Terulliam in Lycoris was given such a BANG of an introduction, but disappeared after literally one song. (But that is obviously no fault of Teruma himself.)
It felt like there was a lot of business that was left unresolved...even though in canon William also didn’t have more business. William’s function at that point was basically just the mom who only came to pick her child up who had messed up big time. Such a ‘spectacular’ introduction of a character who would literally only have one thing to do AFTER the climax of the final act was just poor directing man... At that point I wondered why they bothered hiring Teruma in the first place. I even suspected they made him Sebastian’s body double for the prologue just to give him ANYTHING to do at all to fill the 1.5 hours of waiting.
Tumblr media
2016 - Noah’s Ark Circus
In the manga I liked William FINE, but he was only memorable because he is the greatest parody of the Japanese Salaryman... UNTIL THE GLORIOUS CIRCUS ARC. In the Circus Arc Yana worked her magic, and used exactly this soulless Salaryman stereotype to create what is arguably the most hilarious moments in the entire series.
And boy did Teruma turn golden comedy into platinum!
His singing still leaves quite some space to be desired, but his acting and dancing skills sure did improve very much. And never have I ever witnessed such glorious display of toddlerism (toddlerhood? Toddlerarity?) on stage in my entire life.
His chemistry with the main character also happened to be gold; not once did any of their comic moments feel forced. Together, Teruma and Furukawa brought the amazing shinigami-demon antagonist comedy to life. His growly voice matched well with Furukawa’s very smooth voice he had chosen for Sebastian, and the actually very mediocre composition of the song “no. no. NO!!!” became 👌 👌 👌 all thanks to these to geniuses.

Fushigi Yuugi ~Ao no Sho~
Tumblr media
Last week I went to see the musical adaption “Fushigi Yuugi ~Ao no Sho~” at Zenrosai Hall/Space Zero in Shinjuku. “Fushigi Yuugi” is a shoujo manga (girls’ comic) series by Watase Yuu that was serialized from 1992 to 1996, published by Flower Comics with a total of 18 volumes. To put it simply, it’s a high fantasy story with a lot of drama in between.
The story follows Miaka and Yui, two middle school girls in the middle of studying for their high school entrance exams. One day, they end up in the restricted section of the library and open a book called the Shijin Tenchisho (“The Universe of the Four Gods”) that transports them to the world within the book, set in ancient China. Miaka and Yui are separated and the story focuses on Miaka, who finds out that she is a long-awaited, prophesized priestess. She is charged with the quest of finding the seven warriors needed to perform a ceremony in order to summon the god reigning over Konan, the country where Miaka lands in the world of the book, and bring peace to the country. Meanwhile, her friend Yui lands in Kutou, a different country that is at war with Konan, and falls under unfortunate circumstances which make her turn against Miaka. The two girls each go on a journey to find their respective warriors and proceed to fight against each other, falling in love along the way and so on, a plot typical of a shoujo manga.
I read this manga when I was in middle school and loved it. The story is very angsty, but Watase-sensei does a great job with building the fantasy world and is so talented at incorporating scenes that make a young girl dream.
Tumblr media
The musical this time was the last part of the “Fushigi Yuugi” story, where Miaka and Yui finally confront each other and race to summon the gods. Many of the characters die in this part of the story, and there is just so much content overall that I was surprised they managed to pack everything into one show. The musical was, not surprisingly, 3 hours long with a 15 minute intermission, but even so, I felt that the events of the story went by so fast, like everything was being fast-forwarded. Still, they were able to include all the tear-jerking scenes, and I was able to follow along without any trouble. Although it was called a musical, it was more like a play with a little singing in between. I felt that the songs were very short, not even a minute long each, and that it was a bit of a waste as I know that some of the cast are quite capable of singing, having seen them in other productions.
The stage was small—or rather, the venue itself was rather small with a capacity of just under 600. My seat was an aisle seat closer to the back (even though I had gotten the ticket early on through the official lottery), but the stage didn’t feel far away at all and I had a clear view of the entire stage. For a fantasy story, the set was very simple with stairs and a platform on either side of the stage that was used for scenes with under 3 characters, and another long platform towards the far back of the stage (making it a total of 3 exits for the cast) and an open space in the middle of the stage for scenes that involved more characters. To make up for the simplicity of the set, the costumes were well-made, in my opinion, and looked exactly like how they were drawn in the manga without being too over-the-top. As it is originally a shoujo manga, I found a lot of the scenes and lines to be pretty embarrassing and definitely not meant to be said out loud... but when I mentioned this to an acquaintance after the musical, it seems I was the only one who thought so.
The cast featured ex-Morning Musume idol Tanaka Reina as the female lead. She was so cute! It looks like she used her real hair instead of a wig and tied it up in buns to match her character’s appearance, and the uniform looked natural on her. Although her voice was high-pitched and very typical of an idol’s both when she spoke and sang, it wasn’t to the extent of distracting me from the performance. I felt that she put on a very professional performance and had excellent stage presence. For most of the musicals I attend, usually an overwhelming majority of the audience is female, but thanks to the power of Morning Musume (and perhaps some of the other girls in the cast who are also idols), there were quite a lot of male audience members this time. On the other hand, I was quite charmed by Teruma, who played the main villain Nakago. I’ve only ever seen Teruma via video footage from another production, but I thought he put on such a good performance this time as well, and I really wish he had more opportunities to sing since he has such a great voice.
At the curtain call, Hirano Ryo, who played the male lead, mentioned that he was already 34 this year. Since he had been involved with this production since the first one 8 years ago, he must have been cast as Tamahome when he was 26 years old. Although it was my first time watching the musical version of “Fushigi Yuugi”, I could really see that he was experienced and comfortable with the production and his role; everything from his acting and singing to his stage presence was that of an experienced veteran. I think it’s amazing that he was involved with the same production for 8 years, and it must feel special and a little sad for this to be the last one in the series, but I guess it’s also good timing to wrap it up for the current cast in terms of age as well.
Tickets went for 8,800 yen and the production ran for a little over a week, with a special “repeaters’ bonus” for people who went to see it 3 times or more. Flower arrangements were also allowed at the venue, so the entire lobby was filled with flower stands and pots for the cast. A lot of them were custom-made with the cast member or character in mind; one even had flashing LED lights between the flowers, and another had balloons attached above the flowers that read the character’s name. I was so impressed! The cast must have been so happy. I do want to try sending a flower arrangement myself someday.
My only advice for going to see a play at this venue is that, if you are someone who prefers using the female restroom, I would really recommend using it before or after the show as a 15 minute intermission did not give enough time to accommodate all the girls lined up for the restroom.
Although they say that this is the last one in the series, I am secretly anticipating musical adaptions of the “Genbu Kaiden” and “Byakko Senki” parts of the “Fushigi Yuugi” series as well. This was a fun musical to watch without being too emotionally attached, so I hope they decide to do it again someday!

End-of-Year Butai/Musical Ask
So, I was tagged by @allyyyyy0619, so let’s answer some questions. Honestly, I spend a lot more time on answering these questions than I should have!
Firstly, how did you manage to find out about 2.5D butai/musical? Which butai/musical was your first and your impression of it?
In all honestly, I have trouble remembering, but… I think the very first musical I watched was Rock Musical Bleach. And I don’t mean the 2016 version, I’m talking about the musicals that were in the theater over 10 years ago! I probably stumbled upon it somewhere on youtube. I absolutely loved Bleach around that time, so… yeah, let’s just blame youtube. The first couple Bleach musicals weren’t the best, but for whatever reason I still got hooked on it. Then, since the cast of the original Bleach run is more or less identical to the first Seigaku cast, I discovered Tenimyu… despite a previous negative experience with the anime, I decided to give the musicals a try.
This is actually a funny story, I wonder If I ever told anyone about this. The whole reason I learned about the Prince of Tennis anime series is… BECAUSE I COULDN’T REMEMBER THE NAME OF AN AMERICAN TV SHOW PROPERLY! My friend was hooked on some show and I was planning to watch it too and tried to find it online. At this moment I’m still unsure what show I tried to find, but I happened to be looking for “Prince of Tenis”… Anyway, I watched the first episode, didn’t like it and dropped the series. The Prince of Tennis musicals really quickly grew on me though, so I gave the anime another try later. I concluded the first episode was just crap and the rest of the series was rather awesome!
And that’s how I ended up in the world of 2.5D and couldn’t leave anymore… at least, that’s how I remember it…
Who was your first favourite 2.5D actor/actress? Why?
Um, Nagayama Takashi I suppose? I really like(d) Hitsugaya as a character, so the moment I started watching the musical I was already biased towards him, but also really did a good job! Then, Kikumaru also basically became my favorite Tenipuri character, so… Nagayama Takashi it is! And probably Kimeru, because Fuji was my second favorite Tenipuri character and god, that guy knows how to sing! Although I can’t actually call myself a fan of either anymore, I’m always happy to see Kimeru on stage. His voice is still as amazing as ever!
However, if we start talking about the first actor I actually liked enough to start buying merchandise it was probably Aiba Hiroki? (I’m not sure why, I just liked him…) Then came Furukawa Yuta (I loved his voice!) and after that Sasaki Yoshihide (he can sing, he can dance, he’s adorable!) …all of this happened quite a long time ago. While it’s a bit harder (let’s say, impossible) to say for the others, I can still remember the exact moment I completely fell for Sasaki Yoshihide… (Have I ever told that story?)
Top 3 (or more) favourite butai of the year?
Wait, you’re expecting me to remember everything I’ve seen this year? And even rank them? Um, let me just list down a couple of plays I remember watching this year and enjoying!
So, in no particular order: Stage Play Touken Ranbu (Moeyuru Honnouji Saien, Akatsuki no Dokuganryu, Kono Yora no Odawara), Rengoku ni Warau, Noragami (Kami to Negai), Kujira no Kora wa Sajo ni utau, Present5 (All), CHaCK-UP (+ Episode.0), Yowamushi pedal (Everything up to “The Winner”), Live Spectacle Naruto (2015/2016), Tokyo Ghoul (2017), Ensemble stars (on Stage / Judge of Knights). (Note: this is not a complete list of everything I’ve seen. It’s a list of plays I remember thoroughly enjoying. Not saying I didn’t enjoy those other plays, just saying I enjoyed these more in comparison.)
All right, let me attempt a bit of a ranking.
1) Stage Play Touken Ranbu -Moeyuru Honnouji- (Saien) Shiina Taizo made me fall in love with Fudo Yukimitsu. You can say whatever you want, but having Fudo/Taizo in this play is probably the reason I’m ranking it first. Well, I guess it’s actually the entire cast & staff that earned this play a No.1 spot. (I probably prefer (the cast of) the original run btw.)
2) Stage Play Touken Ranbu - Akatsuki no Dokuganryu- And this play comes at No.2, because I can still remember how extremely excited I felt when I left the theater after watching it. This play was great! The Date swords kind of grew on me, and my love for Yamanbagiri and Sayo only deepened!
3) Stage Play Touken Ranbu -Kono Yora no Odawara- Can I list this? I know it’s super short, but… the story was just super cute! I’m totally in love with Sayo and Yamanbagiri and having them and Hasebe being the focus of the story just…! These boys are too amazing!
4) CHaCK-UP (Episode.0) I’m not entirely sure why I’m putting this on No.4, but it probably has something to do with the absolute ridiculousness of this play. (This is a play, right?) I haven’t quite seen all of this “series”, but I’ve seen enough to think it’s absolutely hilarious. Whenever I have money available, I guess I’ll check out what else DMM has available for rent…
5) Rengoku ni Warau / Kujira no Kora wa Sajo ni utau No.5 is a tie. Both series are up here, because these plays did give me an urge to actually look into the series behind them. Currently gathering all the Rengoku ni Warau manga volumes & following the Kujira no Kora wa Sajo ni utau anime series. And yes, the plays were pretty great too!
Top 3 (or more) least favourite butai of the year?
No ranking, but since I feel like I have to name some, I’d say Patalliro and Rusted Armors. Patalliro is a great play, absolutely! But I’m not familiar enough with the series to be super excited about it, nor did it give me the urge to look into the series. (And yet I did enjoy it enough to accept a friend’s request to subtitle it.) Rusted Armor was pretty good too, I loved the costumes & acting! It’s just, I still have trouble understanding the story (I watched it when I was super tired, so I missed half of what was going on), hence it’s among my least favorites of this year. Once I find some time to watch it again and possibly understand the story better, its rank might change. Really, what I mostly remember is Teruma’s ridiculous outfit, yet amazing vocals! Wait, they were all singing…? Why the heck do they call this a stage play! It’s a fricking musical!
Top 3 (or more) favourite musical of the year?
Did I mention I’m terrible at rankings? So, again… some musical I enjoyed in no particular order: Ultra Musical Bakumatsu Rock (Kurofune Raiko, Climax live), Musical Touken Ranbu (Mihotose no Komoriuta, Tsuwamonodomo ga yume no ato, Shinken Ranbu Sai 2017), Rock Musical Bleach 2016, Namashitsuji (Noah’s Arc Circus), Datsugoku Kageki Nanabaka, Saiyuki Kagekiden (Burial, Reload) , Tenimyu (Hyotei Team Live, Dream Live 2017, Seigaku/Rokkaku Team Party) (Note: this is not a complete list of everything I’ve seen. It’s a list of musicals I remember thoroughly enjoying. Not saying I didn’t enjoy those other musicals, just saying I enjoyed these more in comparison.)
Good, and if I attempt a ranking:
1) Musical Touken Ranbu -Mihotose no Komoriuta- First I had some doubts about this cast, so many unfamiliar names and characters I hardly know, but god… I fell in love with all these guys! Watching it in the theater was just absolutely amazing! Yes, I think Team Mihotose may be my favorite at this moment! The character dynamics are just really great. (Thank you Mokkun/Sengo Muramasa!)
2)      …
Good, this isn’t working! I can’t seem to rank the musicals!
Top 3 (or more) least favourite musical of the year?
Yeah, a ranking is not happening… If I have to call out some musicals as my least favorite of this year, it would be Live Spectacle Naruto -Akatsuki no shirabe-  and Musical Hakuoki -Sano-hen- at this moment.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved Live Spectacle Naruto! Unfortunately, from my seat in the theater most of the projections didn’t line up, so I haven’t had a chance to enjoy this musical in it’s full glory. (I’m calling it a musical btw. Too many songs to call it a play!) And there is still the pacing of the play that slightly bothers me. But I really hope to watch it again some time. So, if anyone has the DVD or BD and is willing to share a rip with me… (Please?)
Musical Hakuoki -Sano-hen- is here, because no matter how much I love that cast, there is just something about the pacing or the way the story is told that doesn’t work for me. It’s not just this musical, I’ve had it with more of them. Somehow this musical series just doesn’t work for me, even though the cast is amazing. (I think I mentioned before sometime that I can only seem to enjoy Reimeiroku…)
Top 3 (or more) favourite actors/actress of the year?
Not another ranking! I’m terrible at rankings!
Sasaki Yoshihide Yeah, after all this time I guess Hide is still my No.1
Sakiyama Tsubasa This guys is too adorable! I love how he can be serious, but is super immature at the same time.
Aramaki Yoshihiko He is too adorable (too)! How can a guy be that cute!?
Shiina Taizo / Suzuki Hiroki I can’t chose, so I just put them down on a shared No.4. They are both just amazing!
Ota Motohiro His Sengo Muramasa was probably my favorite thing of this year! He went beyond all my expectations of what Sengo could be!
Top 3 (or more) rookie actors/rising actors whom you’ve high hopes for in the future?
Um, I honestly don’t know who we would still call rookie actors and who aren’t. Really, pretty much any actor that wasn’t part of Tenimyu season one still counts as a rookie for me… So, I’ll just be listing a couple actors I hope to see more of in the future…
Sato Ryuji All right, he’s like super popular already, I know. But his rise in fame went pretty quick. I’m really interested to see if he can keep this up or not. Of course, I hope he’ll do good!
Sakiyama Tsubasa After taking on the role of captain in Mihotose, his popularity appears to be on the rise too. Since I’ve come to like him quite a bit, I’m really interested to see what he can do from here on.
Ohira Shunya Maybe this is just a personal thing, but I have this feeling that Shunya’s been improving incredibly in a short amount of time, especially in his vocals. And I really feel he’s gaining more and more popularity. Aside from that, I think he’s adorable, so yes, I hope he’ll keep rising and improving!
Aramaki Yoshihiko This guy is too adorable and I hope he’ll be able to stick around for a while in the 2.5D business!
Top 3 (or more) favourite butai/musical related drama/movie of the year?
I very much feel like I haven’t really watched any related drama or movies…
Yowamushi Pedal drama (1st season)…? I think it may have been last year that I watched this one actually? Pretty much watched it, just because… Well, I guess I knew a couple of the actors in it… hadn’t seen the musicals yet.
So for this year, I’ve seen half of FIVE… pretty much started watching it, because everyone was talking about it (Well, about Sato Ryuji and Kuroba Mario being part of the cast), but then couldn’t find time to watch the second half…
And, I kind of started watching the anime of Sengoku Night Blood (ah, they’re turning it in a play, aren’t they?), because of some familiar names in the voice actor cast… aka, Sasaki Yoshihide, Kitamura Ryo and Aramaki Yoshihiko) I haven’t watched more than 2-3 episodes at this moment though, because storywise it’s not extremely captivating (yet)…
Um, yes… that wasn’t a top 3 or anything, just me randomly mentioning what I’ve seen…
Top 3 (or more) actors/actress that you think have the best singing voice?
Um, you’re asking for a top 3? I doubt I could give you a top 10! There are many, many amazing singers to be found in the 2.5D world! So, I’m just randomly going to throw out some names here, all right?
Itokawa Yojiro, holy shit that guy just blew me away with his vocal performance during the Bakumatsu Rock climax live!
Kimeru, he’s been doing amazing ever since Tenimyu.
Spi, all I’ve heard him sing in Toumyu was flawless! This guy’s voice is incredible!
Teruma, recently I noticed how amazing he has become! Really!
Sasaki Yoshihide, he isn’t always quite flawless, but I’m biased! And he does have an amazing voice!
Ogoe Yuki, he’s good! He’s really good!
Sato Ryuji, he’s good and he’s still improving! He’s amazing!
Ohira Shunya, surpise!? No, this kid can really sing well if you feed him the right song!
Ota Motohiro, he’s not quite flawless, but I remember being quite impressed by his Mihotose no Komoriuta performance.
Sakiyama Tsubasa, yes, he’s not flawless on stage, but given the right song he sounds absolute
....
Yeah, shall I just stop here? Even though I could probably go on for a while…
A (or more) butai/musical that you didn’t initially love, but has/have grown on you?
I think that would be Present5. I took quite some effort to make it through the first play and it took me a long, long time to attempt watching the other plays. But, somehow these guys grew on my and I eventually really enjoyed watching all of them!
Top 3 (or more) anime/manga/game that you would love to see being adapted into a butai/musical in the future?
I’m very much afraid that I’m the type who starts looking up the original source after she’s seen the play… So, I’m a little out of materials I’d like to see adapted, since they are already adapted…
Top 3 (or more) favourite fandom on the year?
 Musical Touken Ranbu
Stage Play Touken Ranbu
For this whole year I would say that Toumyu and Tousute are basically the only fandoms I’ve really been in. Yes, I’ve seen some Tenimyu, I’ve seen some Namashitsuji, I’ve seen a lot… but, I don’t really count myself as an active member of those fandoms, I’m just passing by… and moving on and sometimes coming back…
How long have you been in the 2.5D fandom?
I’ve been in the 2.5D fandom for nearly 10 years now… (I’ve been part of this fandom from since before we started calling it 2.5D! I think it was early 2008 that I fell down the rabbit hole…) Yes, that’s a really long time! First all the actors were nearly 10 years older than me, now they are suddenly 10 years younger than me! (I’m looking at you, Miura Hiroki! How are you that young!)
Never imagined all those years ago I’d become so obsessed with this I’d still be here after such a long time.
Lastly, what is your overall opinion of the 2.5D fandom so far?
After all these years I can say the 2.5D community is probably one of the most friendly and peaceful I’ve ever seen. This is possibly the case, since all the fights and wars take place in the tags of the source materials and don’t make their way into the 2.5D world. There are some occasional stir-ups, but… Yes, so many friendly people who are willing to share the goodies they have. I’m really happy to be part of this place…
I can however see how the community has changed over the years. When we started this fandom was basically a free for all. Since only the very few in Japan had access to the DVDs, once you uploaded something everyone could do with it what they wanted. There weren’t any rules (for as far as I remember) and barely any watermarks. But yes, with the 2.5D producers slowly turning their eyes outside Asia, I suppose it’s only a given that we thread with a little more caution now. After all, we want them to make it easier for us to watch all the goodness, not make it harder! (Come on, remove the region block from those online streaming services already! I don’t want to be stuck with a VPN forever!)
Anyway, I really hope this community will stay like this for many, many years to come!

NON-SPOILER REVIEW
Overall: That was so much fun!! It might as well have been a real live! Lots of audience participation, lots of singing, wooing, dancing along etc. It was so. much. fun! I even cried! I cried at one point because it was sad. And I cried another time just because it was so much fun, I didn’t want it to end! It was so good! For me, the MVP was either Yojiro and/or Kensuke xD I’m happy they did a story from the anime. They’ve left it open enough to continue too! I hope we get another stage AND another live! Also I want a CD asap! Rating: 8.5-9/10
Seriously all the stages I’ve seen lately have been amazing! YumeStage, EnStage, (spoiler alert >) Honoo no Mirage, Captain Tsubasa, UtaPuri, now this!!
STORY
The story is about another battle of the bands but, we have the ex-members of Amatelast who are trying to get the band back together and plotting ways of breaking Rom and Shuuzo up from their current bands; with Rom and Shuuzo’s past coming up and both of their groups think they’re going to leave them. We also have a band coming from the future to warn them that everything is bad.
SPOILER REVIEW
Where to start?!??!!? xD
SCENES/COMMENTS
The opening straight away was hilarious because after Trichronika performed, Kai gave Shuuzo some water but Shuuzo/KenKen coughed on his water hard, couldn’t get his line out, and everyone was dying of laughter so he ‘started over’ and take a sip of water again xD Rui’s faced cracked hard when it happened.
There’s a scene where Crow looks and acts trashed out of his head drunk; but he’s just milk-drunk xD it’s so adorable and cute!
There’s a scene with Crow on a bike (he’s doing his part time job), and he ends up banging into Adam twice, and the second time even YoneChan cracked up and laughed his line out.
I was lucky enough to be right next to the break between the front seating area and the back seating area. I got so many good views and closeness from people <3 I was super happy that Naoya and KenKen came in from my side and they were like BAM right there! Also, there’s a scene where KenKen gets carried by Judas Jrs across this aisle area and because I was right next to the exit door for him, he was so slow leaving my eye line <3 and he waved to all of us as he went past too! In fact almost ALL of them walked past at one point because they wall came out in a line when they time traveled back to when Amatelast (Shuuzo, Rom, Adam and Eve) were together. And Akazawa walked so slowly in that outfit of his that he took ages to walk past me xD
Another golden moment thanks to me seat was Teruma headbanging almost AGAINST the girl in front of me - his hair was ALL in her face; she was dying of laughter as was I xD She was super duper happy after he left though - NOT because he left, but she got such direct fanservice. And Torigoe was across from me, leaning over the front area bar to give some girls fanservice too.
There’s a scene where Shingan are in a bar finding out about the Battle of the Bands tournament, but while Rom and Crow are trying to get sense of their manager, Yaiba/Torigoe was pretending to be a cat and was following Teruma’s tail around and Teruma was purposely playing with his tail and putting it in Torigoe’s face. Then Crow ends up with a flower and he uses it on both Teruma and Torigoe who became cats xD I’m pretty sure this is a higawari. Which Naoya/Rom could always perfect stop with his mighty fists and punches xD
OH! One major thing I love about this stage is that EVERYONE’S mics are on so if (for example) 8 characters are on stage, you can hear everything; also they’re pretty much able to play around and do stuff and interact stupidly if it’s not their line or if they’re not a major point to the scene so we saw a lot of hilarious things going on; both planned and unplanned.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Rom’s fists! When he punches the teddy version of Manager Maple and then a mini teddy of him  drops from the sky xD so funny!
But also speaking of fists and punches; Crow and Rom’s showdown fight broke my heart and it was during such a sad song sung by Teruma, Torigoe and Kimeru too! BUT it was impressive seeing YoneChan have such energy to keep falling almost every time Naoya ‘hit’ him. It was very well choreographed.
Related to Teruma! There’s a part of a song where he has to do screamo and oh my! Teruma’s screamo!!! It was good! His singing is always great but I didn’t know he could do screamo singing too!
OH! And those damn Shingen aprons are back! I was great seeing those again! And when Torigoe and Teruma’s part time ob involved cleaning the Judas Studio and they had to pretend to not be Yaiba and Aion so they could overheard Arcareafact’s conversation. Aion cleaned the floor in front of Argon as if he was playing Curling. And Torigoe put on an old woman’s voice and potted around. At one point Teruma always span around wipping the broom around too which was very funny.
Another funny part is when Kimeru finds Riku late at night but accidentally scares him by shouting, and so Riku runs of stage screaming, BUT Riku’s screaming also caused Kimeru to panic and scream too in return and he sort of ducked where he was. Then Kimeru went backstage to grab a weeping Riku and pulled him back on stage xD
I really love when the Manager actor sings too! There’s two great parrts! The first is when he sings on stage and slowly the rest of Shingan join in except Rom who’s just like ‘wtf are you all doing?’ but eventually Crow drags him to join in xD the other time is when he’s talking to Shuuzo in the aisle and he sings all his lines and also walks off singing. Shuuzo ends the scene by going ‘it seems like someone’s listening to us (meaning the audience xD)’.
I cried so easily and so hard when Shuuzo got to the hospital and was like (to Riku - who had gotten himself into a car accident because he was so miserable and upset about Shuuzo possibly leaving them) ‘YOU IDIOT! I WAS SO WORRIED!’ And then he hugged Riku and Kai like ‘I’ll never leave you two’. Shortly after this moment, we also have Kimeru breaking down which also broke my heart, especially because the scene fades to black with Kimeru just scream-crying his heart out =[ To then have the bands start performing straight after... it took me a good song to calm down and get back to enjoying it. But then I fully enjoyed it! SO MUCH FUN!
You can tell those that have Live/Band experience because they went ALL out and you can hear it in their voices by how well trained their vocals are and how amazing their range it and how they can blast out a song and not get tired: YoneChan, KenKen, Kimeru. Their love of performing just oozes out from them and very obvious to see.
Tumblr media
I NEED a second live so I can do and support them!! They were all amazing! All the songs are great!!
I need another LIVE, another STAGE, AND I want a CD released please!!
ACTING
I won’t mention everyone, sorry(!)
Tumblr media
Yonehara Kousuke as Crow: YONE IS THE PERFECT CROW! Need I say an more? He has so much DAMN energy and he’s just loud and crazy and does stupid things but also cares so much for his friends; he is EXACTLY as Crow should be. And that tummy, am-I-right?!
Tumblr media
Naoya Goumoto (Takigawa Eiji) as Rom: While what happened to Eiji is terrible and unfortunate, I was so happy when Naoya got announced as his replacement. And he did not disappoint; he was enough Naoya as he was Rom <3 Rom is a character both he and Eiji suit very well. And we got to see Naoya WITHOUT a shirt! Like waaah! And he’s well toned too! I was goooogling a lot xD
Tumblr media
I assume it’s a higawari but there’s one part when Rom is a salaryman and begging his boss for money and the boss says if he wants the money then he should do a Monomane/Impersonation. A girl in the audience told him to be a bicycle and YoneChan (who was on stage with Kimeru, looking on at Naoya and the boss) pointed to the bicycle on stage like ‘there’s one here!’ . But Naoya did the bicycle and used his tail to make it look like a seat but as he left the room as a bicycle, he blurted out ‘ISN’T THIS THE WRONG SHOW?! (referring to YowaMushi Pedal xD)’. It was hilarious.
Tumblr media
Kamakari Kenta as Shuuzo: I love how KenKen just OWNS his mistkes in a way that he pretends they didn’t happen while everyone else is dying of laughter. Before the after event live started, he came on stage and fucked up his own bands name AND the name of the music tournament and he just ignored the fact he made the mistakes, smiled to the audience and continued his lines xD
By the way, Mitsuya Ryo (who played Shuuzo previously) was there tonight; KenKen did sing directly at someone in the audience at once point, so could’ve been him. I have so much respect for Mitsuya; he went to a musical where he was replaced and it’s clearly obvious KenKen is doing the FAR superior performance, yet he is all buddy buddy and smiles with KenKen and it looks genuine. If it had been me, I wouldn’t be going anywhere NEAR stages I get replaced in.
AND I’M SO HAPPY WE GOT TO SEE HIM AS DARK SHUUZO!! I love dark Shuuzo and his outfit was so pretty and sparkly!! *dead*
Yutaro as Riku: His singing has gotten a tad better than Hatsukoi Monster, but he definitely should not be cast in musicals. He’s able to act so he can stay in the stage world but he shouldn’t force his voice vocally so muhc xD BUThe character was so cute and adorable! He was the cutest whenhe was in hospital and had these white pjs on <3 And he was totally cute in the AfterEvent; he was the last one to put his instrument back, and KenKen and Rui waited so patiently for him. When he turned around and saw they were already waiting, he was a little flustered and hurried down to them; so cute! His character in this is very similar to his character in Hatsukoi Monster (review here).
Kihara Rui as Kai: It’s SO weird seeing him so adorable and cute and smiley! The gap between his true self (which I’ve heard is somewhat very straight faced and -__-) and this character is amazing. Also seeing him in Give Up Dance and then in this and seeing the drastic difference even between those characters is amazing! He’s definitely a talented actor and could go a long way. It was totally adorable when Teruma and Torigoe stole his drumsticks xD OH also he does this cool/kakkoi line during his solo song which was so cool yet also laughable xD
Tumblr media
Itokawa Yojiro as Titan: Is there anything this mother fucker can’t do? I mentioned in my non-spoiler that he and/or Kensuke are the MVP of this stage for me. His voice is AMAZING! I didn’t expect him to sing SO WELL! But I should’ve because it seems to be part of the Bancho Boys requirements that they can sing (seriously, they can ALL sing from what I’ve heard so far). His voice was so great! He’s definitely his strongest when he’s NOT doing super high notes but still he was soooo good! I want everyone to hear his pretty voice! I’m trying NOT to be his fan because he already has a loyal and big-ish following but damn... he’s a great actor, he’s in a crap ton of popular shows, he can sing, he’s cute, we practically have the same birth, I enjoy everything he does... ugh... someone stop me from falling indeep with yet another actor. Also, his pants looked really good on him.
I really hope the next stage is Arcareafact’s backstory because Titan has a sad but interesting back story that I want to see on stage. Especially if it’s Yojiro! Goddammit boi.
Tumblr media
Tsuji Ryo as Arashi: He looked freaking adorable! He was soooo cute!
Isaka Ikumi as Oboro: He looked SUCH cool and interesting. Visually he looked great; I want to see his (and the rest of Ninjinriot) developed more in future!
Tumblr media
Takahashi Kensuke as Rin: OMG Kensuke, you know no chill. He was absolutely fabulous in this stage! Surprisingly his boobs become the least interesting part about him very quickly. How he can walk in those heels, constantly up and damn the stairs, with the massive height he already has is IMPRESSIVE. And his skirt was so DAMN short that my eyes were like o_O whenever he was on stage or near me (which he walked past me once and I got a good eyefull of his chest and how flawless his skin is around his arms and back - lucky bugger). With the heels and the skirt, his thighs looked amazing! And then his mannerisms were so feminine and fitted the character so perfectly and he kept in character SO FREAKING WELL! He was so pretty and so beautiful <3 how he suited this character so well is CRAZY! But I just wish he had more lines, more stage time, and actually sang - he didn’t sing at all, just ‘played’ his guitar xD I hope we get to see more of him in future stages/lives.
Akazawa Ryotaro as Kamui: He was so adorable too! But he walked so clunkingly and so slowly in his outfit xD
Judas JR: Were ALL adorable!!
KIMERU as Adam: It’s obvious I’m going to say he was wonderful and perfection in this! Kimeru always is. He KNOWS how to literally put on a show and be entertaining. Kimeru is always fabulous and always the life of the party and you can tell he LOVES performing and singing!

After Event
KenKen is amazing at being awkward but also just brushing it off and being normal xD << I already mentioned this moment above.
The special Trikronika live was so much fun! Especially when KenKen couldn’t even say their name properly and Riku and Kai corrected him about three times but pretend he never said it nor that he didn’t hear them xD
The live was A LOT of fun! They sang INSIDE -- when he said that, even lost their shit for some reason -- tis a good song though.

I, and so many other fans, appreciate it so much that they decided to sell Eiji’s stuff too!

And there we have it! I had to get this one out ASAP because I enjoyed it so much!

july 15th to july 23rd 2017 ➜ tenimyu’s seigaku VS rikkai
after years of dreaming, i finally had the chance to watch tenimyu in person. I saw VS rikkai 5 times within 1 week, and it still wasn’t enough! read on to hear my thoughts, my interactions with the actors & various other reports.
THE SHOW.
where to start. probably with how i started tearing up just from hearing the classic tennis ball sounds as the room is pitch black opening sequence.
the show started off with a rikkai number. they are. wonderful. i’m a HUUUGE fan of rikkai 2nd--they are my favorite rival team along with higa 2nd--so my expectations were set very high... but rikkai 3rd managed to reach them--and some of them completely surpassed my expectations. not even 5 minutes in, i was already blown away by their powerful singing voices.
seigaku’s opening number is a new song: and hikaru sings the second!! line!! In it, and god. GOD. each time he sang it, even after seeing the show 5 times, my hand would instinctively go up to my chest, i was just overwhelmed with emotion... the VOICE this boy has. mindblowing. i cannot wait for the DVD & OST of this show so i can add his new lines to my compilation of his singing. one of my friends, when we met during intermission of the first VS rikkai show she saw, the first thing she said was; SINCE WHEN CAN KAIDOH SING!?!??!? hehehe.
the ryoma VS kirihara match was amazing to watch. i feel like ryu is 50% genki & 50% motohisa, so i think everyone will be able to love him! he has the perfect attitude, demeanor and behavior down. his face is also very interesting to watch!! but what mostly amazed me about this match were nichika’s stunts during it. i had to go rewatch dori & yuuki’s performances to make sure i wasn’t exaggerating just how cool nichika was. i wasn’t. the way he knocks off his feet and falls each time kirihara hits his ankle is so believable and intense! it’s honestly scary! he did his stunts as intensely throughout the whole week. i’m really amazed by this kid. i really love kirihara+marui+jackal’s new song too, ruby eyes. it’s so catchy! it’s been 6 weeks and i could probably sing it off the top of my head still~
the hospital scene… i love how niou would touch yukimura’s shoulder or hair or fix his clothes when he walked in hehe. yukimura’s slow solo song following this scene was much longer than the one in previous seasons. and amazing. toshiki’s singing voice is incredibly powerful, heartfelt and beautiful. this was the only solo that consistently got an applause at the shows i went to. i’m really excited for everyone to get to hear his singing... his musical voice is MUCH better than his idol band thing voice. XD
rokkaku were always there to lighten the moood and make the crowd laugh. the banedabi higawari were especially funny... the best one was when bane-san turned into jijii... and i loved saeki’s solo!! kaname’s singing is sooo wonderful, it makes me especially excited to hear him sing The Best Song ever in VS higa.
D2: kaidoh+momo VS marui+jackal. this has always been one of my favorite matches in the anime, and i loved ikeoka & kamitsuru’s version of it as well!! i don’t think hikaru & jonathan have exactly as much chemistry as their 6th cast counterparts did, but their individual performances as kaidoh & momo are incomparable. kaidoh’s solo changed a little, with similar lyrics but a different rhythm & melody. i think they’re really adapting their musicals to let hikaru’s singing skills shine, which, god bless them. yusaku is an ADORABLE jackal, and his marui feels(tm) are exactly what i like to see. as for taka, i think he impressed everyone, marui fans or not. his performance is just SO much FUN!! he has amazing stage presence! marui has a solo song now... with backup vocals by jackal... i do wish it were a legit duet, but the song is just AMAZING, so i can live with it. take~ it~ easy~ take it take it easy~
D1: golden pair VS illusion pair! i was so happy to finally see sei-chan and yu play doubles together! they were so cute. yu is an angel. i really loved his performance throughout this whole show... and i can tell sei-chan is getting better by the minute! it’ll be fun to see him play singles soon. but i especially LOOOVED yuuta and dai’s performance. they are so fun to watch together, and amazing performers and singers. i’d normally be disappointed that they changed the petenshi song, as iconic as it was, but the new one is SO. MUCH. FUN!! they perform so many magic tricks/illusions during the song, and there’s some i still haven’t deciphered. it’ll probably look even cooler and even more convincing on DVD! and... ahem. excuse me for a second. *puts on I♥YAGYUU headband & rips off jacket to reveal I♥YUUTA shirt*. Yuuta Is. My Dream Yagyuu. ok that’s it thanks
S3: inui VS yanagi. data pair’s match was possibly my favorite part of the show. isawa really impressed me considering he was the member i was the most wary about when the cast was first announced... but he looks WONDERFUL in his yanagi costume and makeup, and his singing is beautiful. but sho... sho. oh man. i LOVE this guy. since we didn’t get to see much of him in VS rokkaku, i was really looking forward to seeing what he was capable of. and he certainly did not disappoint. i’m a very big fan of inui actors and inui himself has always been one of my top 3 favorite characters, so i always expect a lot. and sho did everything right. he is exactly what i want to see in an inui. i’ll be straight up: sho’s inui is my favorite inui. i feel like he combines every previous inui’s best traits: inagaki’s appearance, arai’s smile, teruma’s singing voice, ryosei’s charisma, basshi’s weird, arayan’s extra. and their cumulative love for kaidoh, tezuka, momo and ryoma. and cumulative sexy--*i am suddenly run over and cannot write anymore*
but seriously! sho has 2.5 solo songs during this match, and he performs all of them so well. his singing voice is LOVELY, and i feel like he is constantly improving. i also think he’s the best dancer in seigaku after yuu, which should make no sense considering his size? he emotes and acts so well, and i think he really understands the balance of calculating weirdo creep and impossibly kind, loving and emotionally perceptive goof that inui is made of.
also, as an OT4 shipper, i must mention that ryoma gets really intense cheering during this match, yelling DO YOUR BEST INUI SENPAI!!, that momo has the cutest reaction and hugest smile, legit fangirling, when a tired inui leans on his shoulder after the match, and...!! tenimyu finally included this scene from the anime, where kaidoh hands inui a towel and they smile at each other huhuhu... well, sho’s hand didn’t touch hikaru’s like how they do in the anime, but. close enough, right!!
S2: fuji VS kirihara!! fuuma was sooo pretty and threatening and soft-looking but scary-acting... i really enjoyed his solo. you have to give it to fuuma for being such a good actor and by that i mean convincing us that fuji is still in love with tezuka even if fuuma seems to be unable to stand yuuya LOL... the part where fuji loses his vision is also so much more convincing and heart tugging than it has ever been before. as mentioned earlier, ryu’s kirihara is a gem. i’m looking forward to seeing his performance at senshuraku on the DVD, since i could feel him improving with each show! at first, i wanted him to be a bit crazier/shriek more ((since that’s my favorite thing about anime kirihara & motohisa’s kirihara, beautiful crazy shrieking child)), but by the last show i saw, he had it down so well.
i couldn’t believe they hadn’t changed mou mayoi wa nai, sanayuki’s duet... i’m always conflicted between laughing or crying when it comes on... i was expecting an update with a modern tune with more romantic lyrics, but by the end, i learned to love it... because of toshiki and shogo’s singing, of course. they’re both amazingly talented. and look amazing together. and sound amazing. and have great chemistry. however, i think shogo was having a hard time adjusting to the deeper voice he’s been using as sanada, because he sounded very rough and sore by the 23rd? which led to toshiki singing even more powerfully during their duet on that day... it was wonderful.
S1: ryoma VS sanada! nichika has been growing, both physically and has a performer, so fast. he was a lot of fun to watch during this match... the best moment is when he does this 360 spin and his sweat forms a misty halo around him. that sounds very bad when written down doesn’t it. anyways. shogo is so intimidating and scary and manly as sanada!! it really surprised me since he’s so beautiful and cute out of costume!! i really love him. well, i love both actors, i love both characters, and i ship this pair, but god, isn’t this match always a little too long, be it manga, anime or musical? i found myself watching the benches a bit too often XD. until samurai comes on, of course! it was impossibly difficult to stay still each time it came on!! i had to sing & dance to it at the karaoke to get my love for this song out of my system between the shows i saw.
3rd season has been amazing from the beginning, and VS rikkai was no exception. i have nothing but positive thoughts, and am proud of every single actor. (but especially toshiki and sho, who’re my personal MVPs of the show. also hikaru’s legs)
THE ENCORE.
the encore is always SO much fun! I’m actually rather happy that they changed it to in my heart in time for me to go see tenimyu, because i can’t even do the bunbun moves properly in my living room... i don’t remember all the calls we got during the shows i went to, aside from yuuta’s laserbeam and shogo’s tarundoru. i was definitely shouting way too loudly during them... i was just so happy...
15th: i got WAAAY too lucky. during my first first FIRST ever show, i got a high touch from sho. I’ve always liked him, but the way his smile got so much wider, and his handsome face, and his kind eyes... i’m totally gone now... bye... that was honest to god my favorite and most heartfelt interaction with any actor after ikkei-san, sorry to all the other inuis and tezukas who actually held my hands and talked to me
right after sho high touched us, chiba ran by and had to jump to reach our hands and high touch us! It was so cute!! also yuuya ran by and i physically reeled away in fear
19th: when i was on the balcony for once, and had an alley seat, yuuta was slowly going thru the alley and looking, waving and thanking each of us, one by one. It was so sweet and so gentlemanly. he’s my favorite member of rikkai and i’m a huge fan of yagyuu, so i was super excited and happy. I think i yelled I LOVE YOU in my daze... i probably need to be banned from tenimyu
23rd: i got ANOTHER!! high touch from sho!! I was so happy!! and then!! yuuya too!! I saw this show with a friend who’s a big fan of tezuka, so we were both so excited ;_;
funnily enough, i didn’t get any high touches or interactions when i was in the 5th row, nor in the alley seat of the 3rd row... XD
THE AUDIENCE.
one particular aspect i didn’t expect to be so weirdly excited/traumatized about was the graduates sitting in the audience to watch the show. as we all know thanks to blog posts and selfies, there are past cast members who go see the tenimyu performances in tokyo almost every day. what i didn’t expect was to be so cursedly lucky about who would show up on the days i went...
15th: satsuki, akki, kohei, ogaken & kaminaga attended the matinée show. i wish i had noticed ogaken & kaminaga earlier since i’m a fan, but i couldn’t see them too well from my seat! but i did see satsuki and akki being SUPER into in my heart and being very dedicated to doing all the moves. so cute!
19th: hideya, ryosei, miura, ikumin & mikata attended this show. now. as you may or may not know. hideya is my #1 favorite actor ever. and i was very, very sad that i wouldn’t have any chance to see him during this trip. Well. imagine my reaction when he shows up on the one and only day where my seat was in balcony 1 rather than arena, in the row of seats right next to the one where the graduates always sit. actually i didn’t really have any visible reaction bcuz i was trying very hard to respect their privacy and not stare too much bUT!!! AH!! seeing ryosei again 3 days after meeting him was kinda funny. oh, miura is sooo cute and sooo pretty. he was sitting next to the other guest seats and was super friendly and chatty with those family members. at some point he leaned over the railing and looked so cute and childish… he also leaned over ikumin to whisper in ryosei’s ear which i thought was hilarious. poor ikumin. so unloved. but the funniest was how mikata kept talking and no one reacted or replied to him... hideya and ryosei were talking together pretty much the whole time, which made me VERY happy since i’m such a fan of the both of them, and also because inutezu. I also loved how they got the biggest reaction from the audience XD everyone is always polite and respectful and doesn’t bother the guests, but you could see everyone in the arena turning around to look at them and people whispering OMG HIDEYA OMG MIURA all around me wwww
20th: aibacchi attended this show! i didn’t know it was him until the blog posted pictures of him because he was wearing a face mask, hat and very plain clothes. i just figured it was a 1st season dude since even famous 2nd & 3rd actors rarely bother hiding their faces.
23rd: sana and masa attended this show!! oh my god. i was in the last row of the arena so they were right behind me. I was feeling very conflicted about how i had just paid 130$ to see sana from the 21st row of a theater, only for him to sit right behind me... masa & him NEVER stopped talking, it was kinda funny. classic sana becoming buds with everyone because he has no notion of respect or seniority. i actually thought masa was a 3rd season guy i wasn’t recognizing due to how friendly they were with each other!!!!! but now that i think about it, they were probably just gushing about how much they love yagyuu. me too, guys. during the encore, sana’s face was like (THIS) the entire time. so cute. yuuya went up to the two of them to bow & say thank you.
MISC.
just walking around TDC was so... emotional... walking around places i’ve seen in backstage videos for years... i felt silly because all my friends have been tenimyu veterans for years while i was freaking out so badly over everything that i couldn’t even finish my bowl of ramen okay actually i’ll blame that one on sho’s high touch a few minutes before
it was also really fun to go to all the shows with friends. back home, i only have one tenimyu buddy, and i feel like in general, a lot of fans are more fixated on 1st and/or 2nd season, so being able to talk about the actors and the shows with people who love tenimyu 3rd just as much as i do was so much fun!! thank you for the emotional support, hot gossip, gifts, restaurant visits & good times sam, emma, josie, tina, jillian, vivi & keiko 😭💕
CONCLUSION.
i’ll keep it simple. seeing VS rikkai 5 times wasn’t enough, and i’m already dying to see it again. oh, and i bought my plane tickets to go see VS higa in february already. so, yes, i guess that i did enjoy seeing tenimyu in person. ((it was the most wonderful experience of my entire life, even as an avid theater & concert goer. nothing could ever quite compare.))

calling
There was an announcement in Weekly Shounen Jump today!
“Yu☆Gi☆Oh VRAINS”
I will continue to sing the new opening song starting 22nd May!
The name of the song is “calling”
This time too, the lyrics were written for VRAINS.
Tumblr media
And Yocke-san did the composition and arrangement again!
The singing is more intense than “go forward” which we finished recording not that long ago!
For the b-side track, at live concerts and the like, I will convey to you all “let's put dreams and other nice things into words!”. Yocke-san expressed this kind of thought to the world at full throttle.
It will flourish at live concerts, and because it's a song that makes you jump around and be excited, look out for the b-side song too☆.*
The CD will be released on 10th July!!
It will also have a musical video photoshoot.
The production supervisor is Reiji-san, who also worked on the previous song, “Liar”!

I personally am no fan of any of the Kodama directed shows in Takarazuka, but I've heard good things about Naruto~ I have hope. I appreciate Mouri's work in the latest two musicals, but am still baffled how he was the same person who directed Lycoris 2014... I mean, how could he have given Furukawa the precious advice to be less elegant and be darker, while he let Matsushita "spasm" around on stage as Sebastian??? And also, HOW did he think those giant chess pieces were a good idea!?
It is always easy to dismiss a previous show after you've seen its upgraded version, and even more so if you watch them in reverse. But I can never forget how blown-away I was when I walked out of Blue Theater after seeing Lycoris 2014 for the first time. It was the first Kuromyu story that came from the manga canon and few had any idea what it might be like. But when I was walking back to my hotel that night, I cannot help but yell "wow wow wow" in my brain. It was nothing like I have ever seen. I felt like a changed person. It was that impressive.
And the chess pieces? We loved the chess pieces. In retrospect it is clear that Lycoris 2014 was a very experimental play. It was Nelke's first attempt to put a canon Kuroshitsuji story on stage, and many of the cast were not as well-known in 2.5D fandoms as they are today(let's be real, back in 2014, who the fuck knew who Teruma was) so budget-wise it was definitely not as generous as future productions. We thought the chess pieces were an ingenious idea, because it was simple but also served multiple purposes. Sure it wasn't grand and detailed and sophisticated but it was creative and fun, and I still think it was quite an idea especially for small scale theater with a limited budget.
As for Matsushita Yuya's performance, it would be unfair to blame it on Mouri. Yuya has been Sebastian years before Mouri even touched Kuromyu. In that sense, he is Mouri's "senpai" in the show and he has a long-established style for himself. Mouri might have different ideas in mind, but it would be unrealistic for a new guy taking over the show to completely redirect the well-walked path of an actor who has had years of experience playing that character and also beloved by the fandom. Also,as Editor Kuma explained once in an interview, Yuya became Sebastian at a time when 2.5D stage wasn't a mainstream thing, and his portray more closely resembles anime Sebastian than manga Sebastian, since the anime was indeed more popular at the time than the manga anyway. If you put all these factors together, however much you might find Yuya's performance inadequate, it had little to do with Director Mouri.
And lastly, creative minds evolve and come up with new ideas, especially in show business. They simply had different objectives about Lycoris 2014 than the shows that followed. It was the show that best met their objectives, and they successfully got another chance to advance the series further. And of course later shows are grander and better than earlier shows, otherwise the series is going backwards and we didn't stay in the fandom for that. At the end of the day, if it weren't for Lycoris 2014, there will not be Lycoris 2015 and we might not have Yunbastian. For that I am grateful for Director Mouri's contribution to the Kuromyu series.

Which hakuouki musical you like the most? and which is your least favourite?
Oh wow, what an awesome question!! But I hope you’re ready for an essay, because everyone should know by now that as a writer, I tend toward the long-winded. There are a lot of ties up there, but I’m gonna go the whole hog and list them most to least as approximately Kazama-hen; LIVE, Toudou-hen, and Okita-hen; LIVE 2; Saito-hen and Hijikata-hen (the latter of which is no longer my least favorite); and Reimeiroku and Shinsengumi Kitan. Keep in mind that ‘better’ and ‘worse’ are terms relative between musicals and that I don’t actually dislike any of them.
…Come to think of it, I’m gonna throw this under a cut for those of you who can see it, because this is gonna get loooooooong.
No matter how many other ties there are, Kazama-hen is, without a doubt, my favorite. No future HakuMyu production will ever be able to surpass it; I say this with absolute confidence. There is simply no way HakuMyu will ever attain that level of greatness again. Here’s why:
It has subtitles, so I know what the hell is going on
Outstanding staging, choreography, and storytelling
Smooth and natural pace; good characterization and chemistry; romance takes a backseat, and the bonds/dynamics between other characters are focused on and solidified
Follows and fleshes out the route that needed the most development, breaking my heart even more in the process
Can stand on its own without relying on the audience’s extensive knowledge of the route and/or game in general; only minor outside explanation is needed for a total outsider to understand
I know this for a fact due to the sheer number of total outsiders I’ve shown this musical (3-4)
One of the best soundtracks in HakuMyu
I’d offer up the noteworthiest tracks, but I’d just end up listing every song… but my personal favorite is “Never Say Goodbye, Forever”, and I love the introductory duet of “Inishie no Oni” as well
Also, honorable mention for “Oni no Chikara”, even though it makes an appearance in later musicals as well
Contains my favorite version of the final battle, which gives me shivers just thinking about it
The closest thing to a perfect cast in all of HakuMyu (minus Sen, unfortunately)
The only actor I don’t consider ‘canon’ is Harada’s, since Higashi Keisuke from the new run both looks and acts more like Harada than Igarashi Maasa
Other than that—I do prefer Teruma as Sanan marginally more, but not enough to want to replace Mikata Ryosuke; and Tanoue Marina is my favorite Chizuru, but Tomita Maho fits this darker mood better
My favorite actor, Suzuki Shogo, plays the lead and kicks ass doing it
Some of the best extras in HakuMyu, both in terms of actor (I love those guys so much and I don’t even know their names) and in terms of backstage moments
Verdict: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Literally the only thing about Kazama-hen I’d change is to make the ending less definite, like it is in the actual route. There’s no way Chizuru could or would make a decision as important as “do you want to embrace your demon heritage or not” that fast. But if only the very very ending feels rushed, when feeling rushed is a relatively common problem in HakuMyu, then I’m satisfied. (Of course, I also ship KazaSen, but since this is his route, that’s impossible, so I’m not gonna hold that against it.)
*takes deep breath* …Now for least favorite. Though Reimeiroku and Shinsengumi Kitan are roughly tied for least favorite, with Reimeiroku, I have to forgive some of its perceived flaws because I don’t actually have the first clue what’s going on; the first (and last) time I watched it in full, I hadn’t even seen the subbed anime. But with Shinsengumi Kitan, I know the gist of what’s happening since it follows a localized game, and I can tell it’s a mess.
No subtitles, so take all of the below with a grain of salt
The staging, choreography, and storytelling is okay, but I’ve seen better
Feels rushed; the HijiChi chemistry is better than in Hijikata-hen, but still feels lacking, and the dynamics between other characters (with the possible exception of Harada and Nagakura or Harada and Shiranui) remain incomplete
FOLLOWS HIJIKATA’S FINAL BAD ENDING??? I GUESS THEY HAD TO BE DIFFERENT™ FROM HIJIKATA-HEN BUT WHAT IS THIS???
But… those of you who want Amagiri to have a route, this musical is the one for you!
Relies on the audience’s ability to make inferences about what the fuck is going on, because THERE’S NO SANAN AND NO EXPLANATION BEHIND THE FURIES OR THE FURY CORPS. THERE IS AT LEAST ONE FURY EX MACHINA. I AM STILL SO SALTY ABOUT THIS
I like a lot of the soundtrack, but most of it isn’t anything special for me, and I prefer a lot of the older equivalents (e.g. Kazama-hen’s “Bushido” rather than whatever way-too-upbeat theme fury!Heisuke comes out singing in this one)
It makes me cringe when I watch the new cast try to sing the old themes… especially Matsuda Gaku in Yazaki Hiroshi’s songs. I don’t want to bash his voice, because it’s actually a good voice, but when I compare it to my favorite Hijikata, it just doesn’t work. Let him sing his original themes so I don’t end up making that comparison in my head, please.
Still not as bad as LIVE 2 in that respect tho
Contains my second favorite version of the final battle, which also gives me shivers thinking about it
Call me biased—you’ll be right—but of the new cast, I only consider Harada, Yamazaki, and the demons ‘canon’; everyone else is… less good… than their original counterparts
However, Fujikoso Yumi does an admirable job as Chizuru and has secured a place as second or third favorite (after Tanoue Marina and possibly Yamamoto Sayaka); I do also like Aramaki Yoshihiko’s Okita, even if I prefer Hirose Daisuke’s
I have an especially difficult time with Hashimoto Shohei as Saito and, to a lesser extent, Matsuda Gaku as Hijikata; I really like them both as people and actors, and I don’t think they do a bad job, but their portrayals just don’t ring as true to me
Edit: How could I forget that Suzuki Shogo’s vocal game is even stronger in this one?! Seriously, he’s incredible. He gets the first singing part in the musical and hot damn, speaking of shivers…
I will admit that the extras are priceless (yup, both the actors and the moments)… but the problem is, I perceive the backstage shenanigans as better than the damn musical, which should not happen
Verdict: NOT RECOMMENDED
…Wow, that’s a lot of text. Short answer: Kazama-hen is my favorite, and Shinsengumi Kitan is my least favorite. Thanks for asking!! (And see if anyone ever asks me anything again, given how I tend to go on… eheh…)

After one millions of tries trying to make a gif that moves on tumblr, i’m here to talk about the episode.
I really liked how it went, to the opposite of Rui’s episode that was an amazing display of... nothing. This episode really showed how L loves R that much, and that for him R is everything. L is one of my favorite characters (my second favorite after Atom and he shares place with Kira lol) so it kinda hurt seeing him like that. I love R and i know he shouldn’t  be like that but it really hurt to see him like that. In the end i cried with R’s message and i want to hug the twins so much!!
And i need to say: I’m totally satisfied with L’s ending because basically it showed both of his sides. I really liked it, that’s all i needed for the ending.. I mean i already had a guess that his ending would be about it (since kokorohitotsu can be translated as madness and one heart) and i was really hyped to see it...
THAT’S. ALL. I. NEEDED.
Now i need cute R’s Colorful and my precious son’s Non-Stop Soul Lava(THAT’S THE TRANSLATION I GOT FOR THE SONG!)
Anyway, i still crying over the fact i won’t have more LagPo and Unico till the last episode. If they appear before it, i’ll really be happy, but i have no hopes on it... I know the anime is of MG4, but they are part of the guys life. Who is L without torturing Kira for being too close of R? Who is Rui if not the guy who tries to be a small version of Makishima Shy? I know Teruma has Alto and Tsubasa as his friends that helps him a lot and shit, but... I like the twins teaching things to him! Well forget my rant of “I NEED EVERYONE EVEN IF I LOVE THE FOUR OF THEM!”
To add my rant, my week has been really tough... I’ve gotten tired faster, and i really need a break. This week is Carnaval so i think i can have more free time to do shits.
Just a little note before end this LONG SHIT ASS POST. Yesterday i’ve felt happy because my teacher ffrom the Illustration course had praised me. He said that my drawings were really good and interesting and i was like “Woow!! WOOOOOOW!!!” Well, i’m happy for this even if the course got me tired as hell!
That’s it for today, everyone who reads this shit (aka. who?)
Next Week Cover: Ageage Again (Rin, Miku Gumi & SeeU)?

What's bad about Kitan/good about Shitan?
About Kitan: SPOILER ALERT "Did you suffer playing the games? Did you suffer watching Kazama-hen? Did you feel bad because Kazama-hen has a bad ending? Then I'm going to tear your heart apart with this." To me, this is what Kitan’s scriptwriter was thinking. Kitan is presented as a retelling of Hijikata's route with some changes, but at least from my point of view most of these changes (if not all) are unnecessary and just contribute to making the story more depressing. For example, there's no BEAUTIFUL DRUNKARDS. The last party before everything starts going down hill is not a thing. And most songs feel repetitive and boring. There are MANY unnecessary alterations to the story just because Sannan and Otori do not exist in this production. Thanks to this, Yamazaki became everyone's substitute, but for some reason they decided to include Serizawa when they could have used an audio for the two or three??? scenes in which he appears (something tells me that the person who decided this loves Reimeiroku). As an example, due to these alterations Chizuru doesn't learn about ochimizu and Furies until right before the Aburano Koji accident, and she's told about it just because of Heisuke's imminent transformation. Harada's death and all the dialogue and plot surrounding it is the most unnecessary addition of them all, and after watching it I was seriously considering closing VLC player and deleting the file. Everything after that was just a reiteration of everything I didn't like in Kazama-hen: a sad Chizuru left alone all over again after all the members of the Shinsengumi have lost their lives. Even Kazama is dead this time!!! As we say in Spanish, "muere hasta el apuntador". All these things ended up breaking my heart. For a moment, I lost faith in Hakumyu. I could only think of the people who was there watching it live, crying their eyes out for the characters who are near and dear to their hearts. I watch Hakumyu because it makes me happy, not to end up feeling like I've lost someone dear to me. Summarising, the story is sad by default, there wasn't any need to make it more tragic by killing everyone in front of the audience or adding unnecessary information to make them suffer even more. Maybe someone likes their otomes like that, but I'm pretty sure most people don't play them to see their fave guy die in his own route. About Shitan: SPOILER ALERT
After watching Kitan I was feeling so so so bad that I just opened Shitan, knowing that it's yet another retelling of Hijikata's route, thinking that if they went with the bad ending again I wouldn't bother watching it. What was my surprise when I discovered that Shitan is a re-run of the original Hijikata-hen musical, which, if you don't know, it's my favourite. The quantity of songs is perfect, they are catchy and suit the mood of every scene, and there's variety. The way they tell the story is original and there are no blatant holes in the plot because you have enough characters to accurately recreate the route. So, not only was I surprised with a re-run of my fave Hakumyu, but on top of that, it's a great re-run. The re-run we all want for our favourite musical. In order for you to understand how I feel, I must mention that my fave Kuroshitsuji musical had a re-run and IT'S HORRIBLE. They ruined some of the songs and some of the actors aren't as half good as the original actors (just compare original Alan with re-run Alan). And don't get me started on the Ciel from the Lycoris re-run... Being familiar with these disastrous re-runs, Shitan was a dream come true. And I loved listening to Teruma’s version of Awarena Mouja. Ryosuke Mikata is one of my favourite actors, but I appreciate Teruma (he’s in Kuromyu too) and I can listen to Awarena Mouja on repeat for hours. Besides, we all know the OG Hakumyu cast is special, and for some reason I feel that some of the Shitan actors, mainly Hijikata and Kazama, do really love Hakumyu and have respect for their predecessors. Kazama's actor mentions Shogo Suzuki and Sasaki Yoshihide during the curtain call, showing that he cares about the portrayal of the character and the history of the Hakumyu. It's evident that every actor is different and will portray a character in their own way, but these two managed to keep the essence of the OG Hijikata-hen while doing things in their own way. They were really happy to be able to participate and be a part of this, and I hope they keep the roles for Souma-hen. Speaking of Souma-hen, the director and scriptwriter is the same who worked in Shitan Hijikata-hen and Shitan Kazama-hen, so we'll be in for something good if he keeps working in the same line.

TOUMYU Q&A
I bring more answers for the Toumyu Story ask!
8) Favourite Musical Touken Ranbu character? Why? How is the musical version of him different from how he is portrayed in the game and other media?
Kashu Kiyomitsu… I’ve totally fallen in love with Sato Ryuji’s portrayal of him, and I think it’s pretty closed to how he’s portrayed in other media too, so…
And maybe Sengo Muramasa…? I don’t know much about him or who he is… I haven’t used him much in-game and have yet to do my research on him, but… yes, I fell totally in love with Mokkun’s portrayal!
But to be fair, I’ve more or less fallen in love with each of these guys equally. I could probably name each and every one of them and give your reason why I love them. I think they all did a wonderful job with their characters and stayed pretty close to their source materials.
9) Least favourite Musical Touken Ranbu character? Why? How is the musical version of him different from how he is portrayed in the game and other media?
As I said, I love all these guys pretty much equally. If I’d have to name anyone, I’d probably call out Okurikara, Monoyoshi and Tonbokiri. Which isn’t because I didn’t like the way they were portrayed, it’s mostly because I haven’t watched Mihotose no Komoriuta often enough to get a good feel of their character and their complexities! (Nor have I used the guys in game that often, so… the love is still growing…)
10) The Top 3 (or more xD) actors whom you like best and whose portrayal of their characters you like best.
Sato Ryuji as Kashu Kiyomitsu
Ogoe Yuki as Horikawa Kunihiro
Ota Motohiro as Sengo Muramasa
Sakiyama Tsubasa as Ishikirimaru
11) The Top 3 (or more xD) actors whom you least like and whose portrayal of their characters you least like.
I’m not doing this… xD Everyone did a really good job on their characters!
12) A Touken Danshi character that you would like to see in future musicals? Why?
Fudo Yukimitsu… sorry, he’s just my favorite! xD
And add the Samonji family... I’d love to have a happily dancing Sayo ^o^ But  then I’d obviously need his brother’s too!
But really, I’d love to see each and every character making an appearance in the musical.
13) An actor you would like to see (and maybe, the character he could portray) in future musicals? Why?
Can I have Sasaki Yoshihide in the musical? (And let’s add Teruma too...!) Because I just love these guys and they’re awesome singers too… But seeing how they were part of the stage play, I wonder if that’ll ever happen… >_<;;  (I can dream… Just let them join the Toumyu cast as Souza and Kousetsu!)
But really, I’d probably love to have any of the tousute actors in the toumyu franchise as the characters they portrayed in the stage play, because they all did an amazing job with them! (I’m not sure how many of them can sing though… I know Higashi Keisuke can, so let’s at least add him as Shokudaikiri!!)
Other names coming to mind would be Furukawa Yuta and Hirose Yusuke... Maybe Suzuki Shogo...? As to which characters they could be... Shogo as Shishio, Yusuke as Mutsunokami and Yuta as Otegine?
I have no other requests… because pretty much all the actors I know by name nowadays have appeared in either the stage play or musical already… xD
