(3rd party pov)
Alfie cleared his throat after another shot of whiskey, staring down at a picture frame, the frame held a photograph that was very dear to the London gang leader, the photograph of his mother was, to his knowledge, the only one in existence. "you proud of me mum?" He asked, wondering what she would say if she could see him now. "Bah" he exclaimed, downing the rest of his liquor "Aw fuckin' hell, who am I kidding. Noone could ever be proud of this" he said, gesturing to himself. Looking over the photo more and more, his mind finally snapped. He snatched his empty glass from the table and sent it flying, the sound of broken glass filled the room as it collided with the wall of his office. He turned towards the wall, running his hands through his hair, a murmured growl escaping the man's lips. The sound of his door opening caught his attention, "is this a bad time Mr. solomons?" Thomas Shelby asked, standing at the door with his brother Arthur. "No, no Not a bad time at all. Just.. uh, settling scores with some old demon's that won't shut the fuck up" he replied, laying the frame he'd spent so much time staring at face down. This meeting would go over better without those blue eyes staring back at his, of course colored photographs aren't going to invented for several years to come and now solomons was sure he'd be dead by then but Alfie has a very vivid memory.
"Fuckin' hell" he mumbled mostly to himself, eyes still on the picture frame. "You're sure this isn't a bad time? You're mind seems to be on something else" Tommy voiced again, bringing Alfie's attention back to the two men that were sat in front of him. Had he spaced out without realizing it? He wasn't sure. "Yes, I'm sure. I may have been a bit.. preoccupied earlier... but that's besides the point" Alfred responded, adjusting himself in his chair. "I think we ought to come back another time" Tommy explained, standing up and his older brother followed suit. "Head out to the car, I'll be down in a few" Tommy told Arthur who only nodded in response and took his leave. "So you come here, all the way to London just to call off our meeting and now you're leaving" Alfie said, sounding more than a bit irritated.
"You're clearly dealing with something very.. difficult at the moment Alfie, I'm making an effort at pleasantries here if I need to spell it out for you. Neither of us signed that truce agreement for nothing" the peaky blinders leader explained. The London man cleared his throat loudly, eyeing the Birmingham native up and down.
"Thank you.. Mr. Shelby"
(Y/N's pov)
I was tasked with minding the warehouse while Alfie is in a meeting, but as soon as I saw Tommy and Arthur walk in, within a few minutes, I saw them walk out. "I thought you had a meeting" I said, as Tommy walked up to me. "Take care of Alfie, would ya?" He asked, "Take him to the fucking beach or something". I watched Tommy walk out of the building, "Take care of Alfie" ? Since when does he care? He signed that peace treaty just so he could sell in London. I looked up at Alfie's office, "Tommy wouldn't say anything if didn't mean it" I thought. I hurried up the stairs and knocked on the door, no answer, so I let myself in. "Alfie.." I said, walking towards his desk. He stared out the windows, into the rest of the warehouse. "Dost thou have a fucking problem?" He murmured, with a deadpan expression. propping myself against the desk, "meeting not go well?" I questioned. "You're brother called it off" Alfie explained, scratching his chin. "Which one?" I inquired. "Tommy" he replied shortly.
"Tommy told me to make sure you were taken care of.." I blurted, clasping my hands together in front of me. "He fucking what?!" Alfie turned toward me suddenly, "sense when did that lad care?" He asked. "I'm sure he means well.." I explained, "What'd I'd like to know is why did they call off the meeting?". Alfie sighed and looked back toward the window "just let me deal with the men today, alright?" I asked. "Alright" he agreed. "Just don't let them think I've gone soft" Alfie explained, pulling his coat over his sturdy frame. "Wouldn't dream of it" I replied. "Something wrong?" Ollie asked, as we transcended the staircase. "I'm headed out, Y/N is in charge while I'm gone" Alfie walked past his assistant, stopping mid stride "if anything comes up, you and the rest of the lot better do as they say, alright?" Alfie demanded, going from pointing to Ollie to gesturing to the rest of the warehouse and back. "Understood sir" Ollie replied, almost sounding nervous. Alfie shifted away from the young man, his coat moving as if a breeze had just blown through "Good. It better fuckin' be" he said. With that Alfie Solomons disappeared from sight. Ollie turned to me, "well, best get to work shall we" I said, moving from the second to last step. Ollie followed me as we walked through the building, except for the odd question of where Alfie was and why he left so suddenly, the walk was uneventful. I'm not one to pry, but even I'm not sure what Alfie is doing.
(Alfie's pov)
"Fuckin hell, busy place around here" I mumbled to myself, as I strolled through Camden. A young lass walked right into me, "oh sorr-" she stopped midsentence as she looked up at me. We stood for a while, just looking at each other before she hurried off, I watched her scramble away from the scene for a moment before continuing my walk. Did she per chance know who I am? Hell if I know. Now, I've been called eccentric and flashy to some degree, but that's none of my concern. However, what is my concern is what color brooch would Y/N like, after all they are some of the best help I've had in years, I settled on a sliver wolf chained brooch with amethyst set in the eyes of the wolf heads. After some more perusing, I noticed the two Shelby brothers from earlier, Tommy held at gun point by one of Darby Sabini's men and Arthur not fairing any better, being restrained by two more of Sabini's goons.
I retrieved my Smith & Wesson from my coat pocket and moved toward the men, dropping the one threatening Tommy, "ither of you want to end up like you're friend?" I asked, picking up the rifle. The pair ran off, looking rather caught off guard "Hmft, serves you right" I muttered, propping the weapon on my shoulder. "Get up Tommy, we have work to do" I ordered, getting in the driver's seat of the peakys car. Arthur got in the passenger seat and Tommy sat in the back, "thank you.. Mr. Solomons" Tommy spoke reluctantly as I started the vehicle. "Well, I agreed to help you didn't I?" I replied. "Where you taking us?" Arthur asked, glancing over at me.
"Why the bakery of course, we have a lot to discuss my dear friends"

Chapter Twenty Five
Black Rose
Pairing: Atsumu Miya x Fem!Reader

OIKAWA'S P.O.V.
Obviously, we had the whole thing planned out. It would have been pretty foolish of us if he hadn't. However, it all worked out even better than either of us could have imagined.
It started when Seijoh and Shiratorizawa got together. We don't often agree, but Ushijima and I decided that our management would be better in the hands of someone not, well, Y/N. She's got no idea what she's doing and hardly interacts with other syndicates at all. I mean, she lacks passion and doesn't delegate with other gangs like Akira did. It's like teaching a baby how to walk. And I'm no damn babysitter.
After Ushijima and I had made up our minds to do something about our new boss, the rest of our members started to open up about their own opinions abo it Y/N.  A lot of them felt as though she has been getting better with time and enjoyed her methods of "leading" if you could even call it that!
Over time, our meetings to discuss Y/N dwindled down to a mere handful of us. We'd discuss after hours on the second floor of the casino when nobody was around. However, one fateful day, Osamu happened to walk in. He went on and on about how great Y/N was and how hard she's trying to be a good leader. I promised him I'd hear both him and Y/N out at the pier, later that evening.
Around dinner time I call Osamu with some urgent news. "I told Y/N about coming to the pier tonight like I said I would, but to be honest, I forgot to mention you were coming."
"Okay, so what?" he asks over the phone.
"So, uh, well, I got here a little bit early and now I see her making out with some guy behind a row of cylinder blocks. You should hurry and get down here before it gets worse. I'm not sure what to do in a situation like this," I lie. Of course, Y/N isn't here. I just need to make sure he gets his ass down here before something goes wrong. Murder isn't always an exact science you know.
In a flash, Osamu is down at the pier. I give him directions to stand just below the building I'm stationed in. From above, I gaze through my scope of the sniper I brought and aim straight at his heart.  With one shot, he falls down to his knees.
I then walk down to talk to Osamu before he finally kicks the can, but his face looks so petrified I don't know if he can even speak.
"Yoo-hoo, how's it hangin' Samu?" I sing.
"You... piece of shit..." he grumbles as he spits up a pool of blood. "I should never have trusted you."
"Absolutely right," I grin. "Can't believe you trust Y/N so little that you dashed right here to curse her out.
"No," he continues to splutter helplessly. "I love her. I trust her with all my-" he begins to explain, but I'm not one to really care about whatever mushy stuff he's trying to get into. Instead, I pull my pistol from my side and shoot him in the head. Blood splatters onto me, but it's fine, nobody's around except for one other.
"What a piece of shit," I scoff as Ushijima makes his appearance known. "I'm quite relieved knowing this asshole's dead," I add as I kick him in the side. Osamu doesn't move. What a lovely sign, knowing my work has gone well.
"Don't get too carried away," Ushijima shakes his head. "A body's a body, let's just dispose of it and move on with our lives."
"That's all you," I grin. "What're you gonna do with it?"
"I heard there's a doctor who'll take any bodies to strip for parts. I think I could get a good chunk of change from him," he shakes his head firmly.
"Don't forget to hand me my cut when ya get it," I remind him as I place my bloody hand on his shoulder.
"Don't get me dirty," he says as he shoves me away. "You killed him, not me. Don't forget that."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever helps you sleep at night," I chuckle. "I'll be heading back now."
"Good idea. Make sure you don't get caught."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of the guys in the patrol room. Think you can handle the recordings?"
"Tendou can. If you get up I'll have him fix it up and return them before anyone smells the rotting stench from the patrol room."
"Gross, so gross," I shake my head as I walk away. "Why did you have to say it like that?"
"Like what?" he asks seriously, but I ignore him as I walk away.
I don't bother to watch as Ushijima slings Osamu's dead body over his shoulder and carries him over to his car. What's done is done, it's out of my hands now. Besides, Osamu should have paid more attention to his surroundings because, well, this is what happens when you don't.
I walk over to the patrol room where, surprisingly, there's nobody around. I pull the tapes from the surveillance cameras around and walk out humming the tune to a song.
Strumming my pain with his fingers
Singing my life with his words
When I get back to our old meeting room at the casino, Tendou's the only one in there. Apparently, the rest of the group has backed out of our plan, even Iwa-chan to which I'm quite surprised. However, he's gone too soft to Y/N to ever go back now.
"Here ya go," I say to Tendou as I toss him the flash drive. "I assume you already know what it's for."
"Course I do. I'll have to back to place within the hour," he nods as he catches the small gift. He then excuses himself from the room and slips out.
I, too, decide it's time to go. The longer I stay the more of a chance someone else nosy like Osamu will walk by and ask too many questions. For now, it's best to keep quiet and pretend like none of this ever happened.

eight. “nakahara chuuya”
kozume kenma x fem dazai!reader
(bsd x hq)
tw: mentions of suicide and mild violence
masterlist.         suicide freak!
Tumblr media
instead of eating out with the team, her lovely afternoon turned into a not-a-date-but-kinda with chuuya
"yaknow, chuuya.. you haven't changed at all" she commented. she twirled her straw around the glass of her milkshake as she briefly glanced at chuuya from across her
"hah?! what's that supposed to mean??" chuuya exclaimed angrily
"i've always wondered about this" she hummed "but where do you get your embarrassing hats?" she asked
chuuya clicked his tounge as he angrily sipped on his milkshake. "say what you want, vogabond" he said
"i bet you're still going on and on about suicide despite your age, aren't ya?" chuuya sneered
"yeah" she nodded
he sighed and leaned back on his chair. "atleast pretend to deny that" he said
she sighed and leaned back as well. "what are we doing here, chuuya?" she asked with a huff  "im guessing it's not a date. well, unless it is, then-"
"shut up! it's a not a goddamn date!" chuuya snapped
she chuckled and threw her hands up in mock surrender. "chill out, chuuya" she cooed  "and not like i'd care anyways." she muttered "im still chasing after a certain pudding head so i'd rather this be a little reunion, if anything."
chuuya's scowl softened at her words. his brows nit together as he blinked dumbfoundedly at her.
"you love someone?" he asked, uncharacteristically quiet.
"i wouldn't say love" she shrugged "more like close friends, im currently convincing him to commit a double suicide with me"
"oh." chuuya mumbled
she rested her elbows on the table and placed her chin on her hands. "why did you find me, chuuya." she asked, but with her tone it was more of a demand for the answer
chuuya didn't reply but simply crossed his legs over the other. he chuckled lowly and leaned in closer to her face. "im here to take you down." he whispered "you and your agency may have fooled and escaped from akutagawa, but not me."
chuuya grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled her head closer, so that their noses were touching.
"im your old partner, after all" he smirked
"indeed you are" she smirked back
chuuya grinned, mischief in his eyes as he roughly pulled her head back and tilting it to the left. he then leaned in and whispered something in her ear.
"what the fuck?" kenma muttered in disbelief
"old partner?" kuroo muttered in confusion
a few of the boys, specifically kenma, kuroo, yaku, lev, and yamamoto, were hiding at the other side of the cafe. they were seated by the farthest booth covered by a huge plant, trying to spy on the two. thanks to chuuya's loud voice, they were able to hear bits of the conversation.
"maybe they were lovers?" lev suggested with an innocent smile on his face
"who even is he?" yamamoto asked in a whisper
"well, he could be an ex boyfriend or a friend, we wouldn't really know" yaku said with a sigh
"he has a point" kuroo sighed "we don't really know anything about her, if you think about it"
"we don't know what she was doing or who she was with before this"
"whatever, just shh!" yamamoto shushed him
"ah! i think he looked at me for a quick second" lev shuddered nervously
"what?? he saw you??" yaku asked frantically "that's because your head is almost touching the fucking ceiling! get down!"
"he's looking this way!" yamamoto whisper shouted
"shut up, yamamoto! you're too obvious!"
chuuya grumbled as he met eyes with the boys. he briefly glared at them before averting his eyes back to the girl. "those brats are watching us. tch" he said
"i know" she shrugged nonchalantly. "though, i would advise you not to hurt them" she chuckled
chuuya smirked and stared her down tauntingly.
"or what?"
"i'll kill you."
Tumblr media
"ah, i see.." she hummed "you led me here to fight, is that it?" she looked around the deserted alleyway he brought them to.
chuuya clicked his tounge and nodded in response.
"well, i appreciate it" she chuckled "i wouldn't want kenma to see such violence"
"stop babbling about that kenma and fight me!" chuuya scowled as he ran towards her, throwing punches which she dodged. just as he was about to hit her, she grabbed his arm and punched him in the stomach, making him cough out his saliva.
"you call that a punch?!" he exclaimed as he swung his fist straight to her stomach, sending her back until she hit the wall.
"it doesn't even count as a massage." chuuya sneered "get up." he scoffed
she sighed and lifted herself up from the ground, stretching her arm and wincing in slight pain. "geez, i thought my blocking arm would get torn off" she said with a soft chuckle
"she predicted my moves.." chuuya whispered to himself
"we've known each other for a long time, chuuya. i know everything about you, your moves, your pacing." she said
"i wouldn't have been a proper partner if not, right?" she said with a teasing smile
"tch" chuuya scowled and threw a punch at her again.
she groaned in pain as his fist made contact with her cheek. "why are you so weak?" chuuya asked. just before she could fall back, he caught her by the neck, pushing her back against the wall and squeezing hard on her throat.
"the y/n i know would never be cornered down this fast, this easily." he narrowed his eyes in suspicion. "what're you plotting in that head of yours"
she didn't answer but simply smirked as his grip on her throat tightened.
"answer me or i'll kill you!" chuuya exclaimed "right here, right now!"
"no you won't." she stated with a carefree smile "after all, i am a former mafia executive. and a current traitor, as you all see me." she chuckled "my execution for those reasons would be the council's desicion"
she smirked as chuuya's expression morphed into one of conflict and distress
"if you do kill me before that decision without permission, your act will be considered as betrayal" she said "you'll be punished, or worse, executed" she cooed
"and if i overlook all of those and kill you, you'll still be happy since you still managed to die." he scowled
she smiled and waved her hand about. "yeah, so go ahead. cmon!"
chuuya scoffed as she simply continued to pester him.
"coommmee ooonnnnn~"
chuuya didn't answer but simply stabbed a dagger straight to the wall beside her head. the blade managed to graze her cheek, letting a lone drop of blood travel down her skin up to the bandages on her neck.
she chuckled as she watched him stomp off in irritation. "oh, you're not going to?"
"chuuya driven out of the organization because of me had a nice ring to it too" she laughed
"shut up." he scowled
she plucked the blade out of the concrete wall and waved it around with a teasing look on her face.  "well then, aren't you gonna walk me back like a proper gentleman? ~" she cooed
"like hell i will!" he snapped back. he sighed and turned back around, continuing to make his way out of the deserted alleyway.
"just shut your mouth and get outta here, you ass" he said as he lazily waved his hand in goodbye.
"i'll try to find a man or woman willing to kill themselves next time" he said
in an instant, her eyes sparkled. she looked at his retreating figure with wide eyes and a look of delight. "chuuya!" she exclaimed  "i had no idea you were such a good person!" she said
"that was my way of saying 'go to hell', idiot!" chuuya barked back
"let me tell you this, y/n" he said "don't think this will be the end of it."
"there will be no second chance!" he yelled
she simply smiled fondly and shook her head "no, wrong!" she sneered "dont you think you're forgetting something?" she called out, making him stomp in anger
"dont-you-think-youre-forgetting-something? ~" she sang out
reluctantly, chuuya buckled his knees and pointed at her with a fake bashful look. "there will be no second chance!" he exclaimed in a higher pitched voice, imitating a girl.
she didn't respond with the proper reply they agreed on, but simply looked at him with a blank smile.
chuuya blinked back and repeated his words.
"n-no second chance.. HEY YOU SHOULD BE LAUGHING!"
Tumblr media
"well, he didn't walk me back after all" she sighed to herself. she was currently making her way back to the agency since kunikida has been calling her nonstop. the megane has been whining about her missing work, while atsushi was simply begging her to come back to keep kunikida calm
on her way back, she passed a convenience store, which had an annoyingly huge amount of people bickering infront of it.
"oya?" she mumbled
"what's happening- eh?" she sweat dropped upon seeing yamamoto arguing with a man
she looked around to meet eyes with kenma, who looked like he wanted to anywhere else but there. kuroo noticed her too and smirked at his friend. "your lady's here, kyanma" he teased
kenma looked at her, a look of impatience and discomfort present in his face.
"good evening, everyone!" she greeted loudly
this caused all three of the nekoma boys, and three of the huge muscular men to look her way.
"what seems to be the problem here?" she asked with a nonchalant grin
"oi. walk away quietly before we give you some trouble, girl." the man arguing with yamamoto scowled
she simply side eyed him before looking back at kenma. "ken-ken, whyre you out so late?" she asked with a smile "i thought you had a new game you wanted to play"
"well.. they won't let us go." kenma answered quietly, pointing to the men with a frown
she faced the men with an exaggerated pout "why are you bastards causing my pudding trouble, hm?" she asked in a scolding tone
"y/n-chan.. you shouldn't provoke them" kuroo said with a nervous smile
"hah?! you tryna act tough, lil girl?" the men laughed "these scoundrels have been loitering in our spot." one man scowled "so we came to teach them a lesson." he grinned maniacly as he lifted the hem of his shirt, showing the gun inserted in his pocket.
"good grief." she sighed "another angsty gang. this is getting old" she whined  "last time i checked, you didn't own this store so these boys are free to stay here whenever they want" she said
"and carrying a gun without a liscense is a major offense." she pointed to his pocket.
she then pushed kuroo, kenma and yamamoto away. "but since you're so hell bent. we'll spare you the trouble."
"good riddance~" she cooed at the men
she pushed the nekoma boys by their backs, urging them to walk faster while yamamoto looked back to flip them off.
"oi oi oi,, not so fast" the men laughed. one of them tugged her back by her arm, laughing once he saw the bandages and the cuts she had on her face from her previous fight with chuuya.
"a girl like you tryna act tough is laughable. but since you're here, you might as well play nice and be our little toy"
she grimaced and pulled her arm back, sending them a dirty look.
"after all, it's pay back for giving us all a headache." he said with a smirk
"oi! get your filty hands off y/n-chan!" yamamoto exclaimed angrily
she looked back at him and smiled in gratitude, though she simply tucked her hands in her pockets and ignored them.
"im afraid i won't be agreeing to your request." she scoffed "we'll be leaving now" she announced as she grabbed yamamoto and pulled kuroo and kenma along
"get back here, you bastards!" the most bulky man reached out, trying to grab one of them.
unfortunately for him, the person he manged to grab was kenma.
"h-hey!" kenma shrieked, trying to pull his arm back
she stopped in her tracks and immediately ran back to his aid. she pulled his other arm back and shielded him with her body. "hands off." she said with a dark look in her eyes.
"you little-" the man was cut off as a fist came contact with his face.
a loud and unnerving cracking and popping of bones could be heard as her fist rammed on his face.
"my, my.." she cooed, holding her hand up as she watched the man stumble back on the ground. "normally i'd say i'd hate for this to resort in violence.. "
"but that would be a lie" she chuckled
kuroo, kenma, and yamamoto gulped as they watched the fight ensue. "y-y/n-chan, let's just leave." kuroo says nervously "the guys have guns" he warned
"correction. one of them has a gun." she said
the two remaining men laughed at her claim and pulled out guns of their own. "don't get so cocky, little girl"
she simply ignored them and continued speaking to kuroo, as if it were a normal conversation. "those two blockheads don't have a single bullet in theirs." she said nonchalantly
the two men gulped as they laughed nervously.
"only an idiot would point a revolver at someone without a single presence of a bullet in them." she laughed
"ah, sorry kuroo-san! another correction. none of them have a utile weapon in hand" she chuckled
kuroo cocked his head in confusion. "then what about him.." he pointed to the man on the ground
the poor fellow who had to take a gruesome hit was still on the ground, sporting a broken nose and a missing tooth.
"you see, stuffing a gun in your pocket is pretty stupid!" she scoffed "stupid, stupid stupid!" she taunted. she stuck her tongue out at them and pulled on her eye, teasing them like a child.
"it'd be easy for the other person to grab it." she said "that being said.."
she showed them the gun, hanging on her finger by the trigger guard. she smirked and pointed it at the bruised man, ignoring the other two as her finger grazed the trigger.
"now.. tell me, mister." she cooed "are you the leader of this gang?" she asked
"y-yes." the man answered reluctantly
surprisingly, she didn't pull the trigger on him, but simply smiled in delight. "i see!" she exclaimed with a smile "well then, since you're the top dog, i'd say you should tell your little puppies to run off and leave my friends alone!"
"i-"
before he could utter another word, she pulled the trigger. but she didn't shoot him of course! she refuses to expose her friends to such inhumane acts.
"good! im glad to hear that!" she cheered happily, a stupid and giddy grin forming on her lips.
she thew the gun in a nearby canal and stuffed her hands back in her pockets. "if i see you bothering anyone else again," she trailed off, her grin faltering as an aloof expression loomed her features
"i'll punch you twice and shoot you five times."
but as quickly as she it had disappeared, her smile once again came to light. "well then, it's getting late.. bye-bye!" she waved at them
the men took this as a signal to run, which they did.
the three nekoma boys looked at each other with a horrified and hesitant expression before looking back at her.
"y/n..?" kenma called out
she turned around, her aura softening as her (e/c) orbs clashed with his honey hued ones.
"well then, let's head home?" she said to them
"uh.. we were-" kuroo cut himself off by clearing his throat. "we were heading to the train station!"
"perfect! should i walk you there?" she asked them "the agency is a few blocks down the station so it should be fine"
"y-y/n-chan!" yamamoto exclaimed "hm?" she hummed back questioningly "marry me!" yamamoto exclaimed, his eyes wide with a pink hue coating his cheeks
"sorry, yamamoto-kun" she cooed "but marriage is the farthest thing i have in mind at the moment"
she glanced at kenma, who was too busy silently hissing and glaring at yamamoto to notice even her
"i do, however, have our double suicide in mind, kenma-kun" she said. kenma stopped with his cat-like hissing and looked at her. "oh.. is that so.."
"mhm. well then, you all should head back!" she said “but kenma, you should stay with me!" she proposed
"why?" kenma sweatdropped
"we could have loads of fun back in my place! you'll love that, won't you?" she asked excitedly. she hugged his arm close and rested her head on his shoulder, thus making walking a bit hard for them, but she didn't mind.
"no."
"aww! we could share the bed, and have-"
"oya oya~" kuroo cooed "am i hearing this correctly~"
"y/n-chan!! marry me instead! I'd love to stay at your place!" yamamoto cried
"ke-n-ma~ what do you say?" she cooed, blatantly ignoring yamamoto. kenma grumbled and looked away from them. he tried to pull his arm away from her, but failed.
"how are you guys acting so normally?" he asked "are we not gonna talk about y/n just beating up some guy and firing a gun?"
"nope!" she hummed
"what we will talk about, however, is my proposal of staying at my place!" she whined "i could please you all night long-"
"im walking away now." kenma announced as he pulled his arm from her and fastened his pace
"wait! i was talking about games and movies!" she reasoned out with a laugh "kenma!"

Can I offer you some: ‘Ep 25, The Gang Meets Wilde’
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pt. 2
I guess I swung wildly between ‘brandy’ and ‘whiskey’ when writing this and didn’t notice, oof.
Transcript under the cut:
HAMID: I don't, I, I don't think so... Um, hello?
HAMID presses his finger tips to the door, swinging it gently inwards but not fully opening it. SASHA instantly flattens herself against the wall, drawing a dagger and clutching it to her chest.
VOICE (O.S.): Oh, hello?
VOICE (O.S.): Oh, hello?
VOICE (O.S.): Oh, hello?
VOICE (O.S.): Oh, hello?
BERTIE: Oh! Hello!
SASHA and ZOLF both give BERTIE a glare. HAMID reaches out to push the door further, but stops before he does.
VOICE (LANGUISHLY): Oh, hello!
BERTIE (OVERLAPPING): Hello!
HAMID (OVERLAPPING): Hello?
VOICE (O.S.) (OVERLAPPING): Hello!
BERTIE: Hello! Hello!
ZOLF elbows BERTIE in the waist.
ZOLF: Who on Earth are ya?
VOICE (O.S.): I could ask you the same question, I suppose!
HAMID steps into the apartment, pushing the door wide open as he does so. ZOLF and BERTIE step in behind him.
OSCAR WILDE is lounging by the hearth, looking only slightly uncomfortable in a halfling-sized chair. He's human, average height and average build, with plump, youthful features. His hair falls the nape of his neck in glossy, brown waves that shimmer every time he turns his head; he's clearly wearing an illusion.
WILDE is dressed in a manner that's almost garish: peacock patterned waistcoat, scarlet, French-style suit, red shoes, and yellow socks, but between his good-looks and his charisma he completely pulls it off. In one hand he holds a glass of HAMID's whiskey, and in the other a note pad.
WILDE: So sorry I, uh, got here a little early, thought I'd just wait it out.
WILDE smiles winningly at the party. BERTIE reaches up to lift the grate of his armour. HAMID looks confused. ZOLF frowns, then grabs hold of his symbol. A low sound, part way between a hum and a growl, emits from his throat, reminiscent of wind battering across the top of a lake. For just a moment his eyes glow, then WILDE's notebook bursts into flames.
WILDE: Ooh, ah!
WILDE drops the pad, shaking his hand. It's burnt to a crisp before it hits the ground. Looking at its smoldering remains, a faint smile twitches at WILDE's lips.
WILDE: Fantastic, that'd be you... Zolf? Yes?
ZOLF (PLAYING DUMB AS A ROCK): Who, sorry?
WILDE (SMIRKING): Hmm.
CUT TO SASHASASHA is still pressed against the wall, head turned to the side so she can listen in. Her face is stony, but she looks poised for a fight.
CUT BACK TO INT.
WILDE: So, that must be Zolf.
ZOLF scowls and looks away from WILDE.
WILDE: And Hamid, and Sir Bertrand, yes.
BERTIE: Hello.
BERTIE steps forward, obscuring WILDE's view of everyone else. Between his height and his breadth he towers over WILDE, who immediately starts to look a little flushed.
WILDE (ALMOST COY): Hello.
WILDE looks BERTIE up and down in a meaningful fashion. He then glances away for a moment to meet ZOLF's eye, just to make sure he's catching what WILDE is doing. BERTIE looks a little affronted at the loss of attention.
BERTIE: Mm.
WILDE turns and begins to pour another glass of whiskey from HAMID's decanter, then offers it to BERTIE.
HAMID: Um, who might you be?
WILDE (WITHOUT BREAKING EYE CONTACT WITH BERTIE): Wilde. Good to meet you.
BERTIE: Pleasure.
BERTIE takes the drink.
ZOLF: Is there a compelling reason why, um, I shouldn't shove this trident up your bum?
Now WILDE does turn away from BERTIE, looking right at ZOLF. It's difficult to tell whether he's red with annoyance, heat, or still recovering from his intense eye contact with BERTIE.
WILDE: Oh, that's not very- You wouldn't want that getting out, would you now? Honestly!
BERTIE (CLEARLY TRYING TO WIN WILDE'S ATTENTION BACK): Well, you haven't been formally introduced, which I think is part of the reason.
ZOLF (MUTTERING): Well, also, you'd be dead, so it wouldn't be going anywhere.
BERTIE has clearly failed to hold WILDE's attention, as he watches ZOLF with a quirked eyebrow. There's no hint of the 'bedroom eyes' he'd tried on with BERTIE, but there's definitely some kind of passion in that gaze. However it seems, more than anything, like the passion to argue.
HAMID: You, you, you appear to be in my apartment uninvited.
WILDE: I do apologise.
WILDE actually looks at HAMID for the first time.
WILDE: I was just hoping to get hold of you, and, well, I thought this was the best place. I mean, you have been staying here most nights, haven't you?
HAMID: Yes.
WILDE: Well, there we go then, I, uh, I thought you might enjoy the company.
WILDE once again makes eyes at BERTIE.
HAMID: Next, next time it might be nice of you to wait for an invitation.
WILDE: I, I do apologise, I, I did knock!
HAMID sighs deeply.
HAMID: Not quite the same thing, is it?
WILDE (EVASIVELY): I suppose not. So! This is all very exciting; I'm noticing you're all looking a little worse for wear-
HAMID smooths a hand over his waistcoat.
HAMID: I, uh, I would dispute that, thank you.
WILDE: Well, let me re-phrase: not all of you. I'm, I'm noticing, um-
WILDE glances at ZOLF, who seems to be the only one in the room not trying to capture his attention.
ZOLF (GRUMPILY): No, I always look like this.
WILDE: One of, one of your party's missing?
ZOLF (PLAYING DUMBER THAN A ROCK): Who? Nope.
WILDE: Oh, I'm fairly certain that the girl-
ZOLF (INTERRUPTING): No, nope, who? What?
WILDE: The girl is. Hmm, yes. Quite. So, where have you been? How was today? I'm quite fascinated, actually.
HAMID (FIRMLY): Why don't you tell us why it is you're here?
WILDE: Well, I just thought it might be a good idea for you to sit down and, y'know, really, really share, y'know? Really explain things by yourselves, because people want to know. You know?
WILDE gives HAMID a very smug look.
HAMID: Are you a reporter of some kind?
WILDE: Mm, yeah, of a, of a kind. I, I, I sell my stories to whoever's interested, really. And a lot of people are very interested-
WILDE turns away from HAMID and begins to pour more glasses of whiskey. HAMID seems unfazed by this.
WILDE: I just, a lot of people are very interested-
BERTIE: Well, you know-
BERTIE shoves his glass between the decanter and the glass WILDE was filling, effectively giving himself a top-up.
BERTIE: I, I have been looking- I very much have an opening for a biographer.
BERTIE raises an eyebrow at WILDE, still leant across him from filling his glass. WILDE smirks.
WILDE: Well, we would have to closet ourselves away for a significant amount of time to really go over, go over the details. The nitty gritty, as it were.
Behind them, ZOLF scowls, clearly picking up on their queer-coded language, but immediately looking down on anyone who would willingly flirt with BERTIE. HAMID shuffles his feet, waiting innocently for the pair to finish talking.
BERTIE: I, I assure you, I have some extremely fine details to share with the appropriate young scholar.
WILDE turns, two new glasses of whiskey balanced in one hand.
WILDE (WITH A CHUCKLE): Presumably you mean of quality, not diminutive.
BERTIE joins in with his chuckle, but it quickly becomes mean, eventually devolving into a deep growl. Suddenly looking a little uncomfortable, WILDE moves away from BERTIE and offers a glass of whiskey to ZOLF. His face is soft; clearly he's looking for a little sympathy.
ZOLF refuses to take the whiskey, and scowls again at WILDE.
HAMID takes the glass offered to him, so WILDE drains ZOLF's.
BERTIE: My details are distinguished by their quality and their quantity.
WILDE (LESS SURE, BUT STILL PLAYING HIS PART): Indeed, I mean, that, that's a lot of the reason that I'm here. I've been hearing so much interesting- I mean, your deeds with Other London? And especially, I mean- Did you, did you manage to catch whoever it was with the antiques store?
CUT TO SASHA IN THE HALLWAY
SAHSA grimaces; tightens her grip on the dagger.
CUT BACK
WILDE: I heard that was, heard that was a bit of a problem, no?
An awkward silence hangs over the room for a moment as ZOLF and HAMID give WILDE a look that tells him that was in poor taste. BERTIE enjoys his whiskey.
HAMID: Uh, l-look, Mister Wilde, I don't-
WILDE: Sorry that was, that was, that was rude of me. Clearly I was treading on  a nerve. I'm so sorry.
BERTIE raises an eyebrow, seemingly losing some respect for WILDE as he apologises.
HAMID: I don't, I don't mind telling you about, uh, what we've been up to. As I'm sure you've seen in the press and will see again soon, we are not averse to sharing our story. But I really must insist that you tell me what it is you do, and why it is you are here specifically.
WILDE (JUMPING IN): It is so generous of you to donate so much to the natural history museum, as well-
Suddenly WILDE is knocked off his feet, backwards into HAMID's chair, dropping his glass as he does so. SASHA looms over him, the tip of a dagger pressed lightly to his throat. WILDE is surprised, but not afraid.
SASHA: What do you know about the antique store?
WILDE smiles, just slightly.
WILDE: Well, I was hoping you'd be able to tell me, all I know is that you were there.
SASHA (UPSET, BUT IN HER OWN WAY): What, what do you know?
BERTIE steps forward, placing a hand on SASHA's shoulder.
BERTIE: Now, now, Sasha. If there's any blade to be held to this young man's throat I feel it should be mine-
SASHA shrugs BERTIE off with such force he actually has to remove his hand.
SASHA (CLEARLY AGITATED): He, he knows something about what happened to Gusset. He, he knows who trashed Gusset's store!
WILDE (WRIGGLING BENEATH THE DAGGER): No, no, that's not what I said.
SASHA: Oh, really? So, you know-
WILDE: I was curious-
SASHA: So how did you know about that? Because we didn't go to the press about that.
SASHA pressed slightly with the dagger. WILDE leans further into the chair to avoid getting nicked.
WILDE: Well, y'know, some people are observant, and some people, y'know- I mean, where do the press find these things out?
SASHA: Well, but- Usually, Hamid tells them!
For just a moment SASHA alleviates some pressure from WILDE, and it seems as if she might wheel around to threaten HAMID. Then she looks down at WILDE and re-applies the pressure; she trusts HAMID.
WILDE: Well, usually doesn't always cut it-
SASHA: That's how journalism works!
WILDE takes a moment to allow his eyes to drift back to BERTIE.
WILDE: Some deeds will just speak of their own accord.
SASHA: Oi!
SASHA begins to press the tip of the blade to WILDE's throat. Once ZOLF realises what she's doing he steps forward slightly, poised to pull her off.
SASHA: What do you know about who trashed Gusset's store?
WILDE: I don't know what to say. I know that you went in there, and you, uh, had a bit of a conversation. It looked very amicable, and then you headed on your way.
WILDE catches sight of ZOLF, stood behind SASHA with an arm outstretched. He visibly relaxes, allowing a huge grin to spread across his face.

Made a Grumpus OC
They're just one of few of them..not sure if I'll draw any of them, I drew them because..I'm bored
I have a grumpsona in mind..but I'm not finish with it's design
I guess I'll explain them
Amly Ductforce(I'm bad at names) came to Snaktooth island because they were bored and needed a vacation from their "job"
He's gender-fluid and doesn't mind people getting his pronouns wrong when he doesn't feel that gender, but some just call him a "They" and that's fine by him
One thing that she's really good at, is lying and stealing. When she came to Snaktooth Island, she started her hobby right away and stole some things from Wambus which got him pretty upset
He gives everyone nicknames despite not liking anyone besides Cromdo
She likes order yet enjoys chaos, sometimes, she would plant random objects that belong to the residents in each other's huts to start up something
When the town split, he went to the Boiling Bay due to the nice warm yet cold feel to it and because she wanted to steal stuff from Floofty
They're probably in their late 40s early 50s
Her and Cromdo get along for the most part as long as she doesn't steal anything from him
In their hut, they have a lot of stolen objects, most from Wambus
Their hut is beside Liz and Egg's hut but is to the right of the beach
If he was in the game, then you'd meet them the same time you meet Floofty
She doesn't like Lizbert because she always calls her out on the stuff she steals, same for Beffica
Due to his hatred to Lizbert, he shares the same hatred towards Eggabell but doesn't go out his way to steal from her, seeing her as too fragile
He's scared of Chandlo(because he would snap her like a twig), Shelda(because she acts like a cult leader), and Gramble(because he's too nice)
If they get caught stealing, they lie about it and theres a 90% chance it'll work due to their confident sounding voice and being a bit manipulative
Dialogue in game:
What everyone thinks of them
Filbo:
"Oh..them? They're..ok, as long as they don't cause any trouble.."
Wambus:
"...."
Beffica:
"She's just a thief, no wonder her and Cromdo work so well together, they're nothing but squeebs."
Gramble:
"I never spoke to him before..but..I don't think he likes me very much.."
Wiggle:
"She stole my banjo and said she wanted to play a song, but then she threw it off a cliff! I'm so glad I have fast reflexives."
Snorpy:
"All they do is steal stuff! Then lie about stealing that stuff! I haven't gotten my inventions back in 3 months!"
Cromdo:
"Ah..that grump is something all right..greatest business partner ever, she and I are gonna rule the money world!"
Triffany:
"Oh..Amly? I don't come in contact with her often but Wamby doesn't like her."
Chandlo:
"After they stole my balls AND Snorpy's inventions, I promised to never speak to them for the rest of my life bro!"
Floofty:
"I don't appreciate them stealing my leg or my notes. If given the chance, I would experiment on them."
Shelda:
"Do not speak of thy name who gladly would turn his back on us if given the chance!"
Cemi:
"Nope. I don't like her at all..she's not that attractive..and she hangs with Cromdo."
Charlia:
"I really don't like it when she tries to remove my arm..it hurts my feelings.."
Being asked about Floofty:
"I like stealing their stuff but if I offered to help them, I think they'll kill me."
Meeting them:
"Woah..a new face! I haven't seen anyone new around here in..grumping forever!"
"Who are ya and why are you talking to me?"
*explains*
"Oh! You're that amateur journalist Lizzie was talking about! I thought you were never coming, isn't this grand? New faces! New people! New stuff to..borrow!"
"I'm Amly Dustforce, the ruler of Snaktooth island!"
Will you come back to town?
"Wait..town? No way..if Cromy's not there, then I'm not going!"
"Also, I'm a little parched, can ya get me a Sqaquiri? I'd drink those things, everyday of the week, maybe we can..cut a deal, how's that sound doll?"
*Caught Sqaquiri*
"Now THAT was a refreshing beveridge, thanks doll!"
"So, ya want me to come back to town? Well, I might need some convincing, I want ya to find out what that Filbo kid does when nobody's lookin, I could use it for..things."
*You find out what Filbo does*
"HA! Are you serious?! Oh jezz, and I thought he couldn't be more of a squeeb! HAHA! Goodness..that's a laugh I needed..ha!"
"Good to know theres some things to see in town, but I'm more interested in WHAT is in town."
"For ya final task, I want ya to steal Beffica's diary..then rip out some pages that are interesting, and give them to me. Easy."
*You grab the pages*
"Sweet! Good job my messenger grump!"
"*sigh*, I think I'm ready to go to town..but..first I want you to get Cromy in town."
But you said that was the final task
"I lied."
"Get Cromy in town and I'll follow right behind, deal?"
*Cromdo is in town*
"Wow! That was..slow but it'll do!"
"Thanks doll, looking forward to chatting with ya! Farewell!"
Interview:
Have time for an interview?
"Interview? That sounds fun! I'm in."
Who are you?
"Amly Ductforce, it's pronounced Aim-ly. Strange. I know."
Why come to Snaktooth Island?
"I heard of Lizzie's stupid conspiracy on TV, I was about to change the channel when I heard there was an island involved, and I just so happened to be looking for a place to host my vacation. So I packed up and lied about being interested in her expedition."
Vacation from what?
"My life. My job. My family. Everything basically."
Thoughts on Bugsnax?
"I guess they're ok, the names could be better..but some taste pretty good. Note, keep away from the Aggroll."
Why?
"Because those things will break some bones and the flavor isn't even worth it! Also because it's named after someone I'm not found of."
Why did you leave town?
"I could handle the drama between Wamby and Gram, but once Cromy left, I had no reason to stay. I wanted to follow him, but I decided to live near the beach instead, so yeah."
What do you think about Cromdo?
"Me and him have a pretty decent relationship, I give him what he wants and he takes the fall for me. Simple business."
Are you planning on betraying him?
"No way, he's cool, I don't consider him a friend, but he's still great to work with."
Any info on Lizbert?
"Liz..I grumping hate her! She keeps saying I stole stuff from her, I would never do such a thing! If she didn't have that little obstacle beside her, I would burn her hut down!"
Woah, calm down. Who's this obstacle?
"I am calm..just speaking out my mind. And I'm talking about Eggabell. The doctor? Lizzie's girlfriend? Eggy bell? Yeah. She and her are like..two papers in a file. Theres nothing you can do to separate those two."
What happened to Lizbert?
"If we're being honest, I'm not sure."
Are you lying?
"Heh. For once in my life, no. I really don't know what happened to Lizzie, she went up that mountain and didn't come back."
How do you know she went up the mountain?
"I saw her."
Why didn't you tell anyone?
"I did. Nobody besides Cromy believed me, guess that's the price being the best liar in the world."
That'll be it. Thank you
"No problem doll, that was pretty fun! Here, have this!"
*stolen piece of journal paper*
"Found it while cleaning Lizzie's hurt, it might help ya in someway. Any who, I gotta run, farewell!"
Side Quests:
"Heya doll, you won't believe what I discovered! It'll help ya find Liz!"
What?
"First..get me a Poptick..it's very important."
Why?
"Trust me! It's super super SUPER important!
Sure, I guess
"Caramel please."
*Got the Poptick*
"Perfect..now..I need a Snaquiri.."
Are you going to tell me why?
"Nope. Make it quick! I have a feeling my brain's about to forget everyone!"
*Got the Snaquiri*
"Good..now..I need a Cheery, that'll be all to finish this!"
I have a feeling you're lying
"I'm hurt."
Fine.
"Hurry up! I'm losing my life force!"
*Got the Cheery*
"Alright..now-"
*silence*
What?
"That's it. I was just hungry."
Why did you say it was important
"There was no way you'd do it if I asked, so I just..slightly lied."
Slightly?!
"Calm down doll! Everything fine! Nobody got hurt.."
You have a lying problem
"I know..but I can't do anything about it, it's the only thing I got."
"When you're a liar, nobody wants to be around you, nobody likes you..and nobody will trust you."
"Ever since birth, I lied, stole, and broke so many things, nobody wants anything to do with me. I had no friend and my family kept saying I was a bad person..so I don't talk to them anymore."
"Lying is all I got left doll and if I stop, I got nothing. So I'm not stopping anytime soon, so deal with it."
"Thanks for the food..farewell."
Welcome back message:
"Oh..you're..back."
"Heya Wamby, didn't know you'd be back either! How sweet! The gangs coming back!"
"Amly, if you go near my farm-"
"What? Me? Go near your farm? No way! I would never!"
"Don't think that everyone things you're a saint! Only Cromdo thinks that!"
"I don't think I am one, but it's nice knowing you think so!"
"Just stay away from my farm."
"Deal. Happy catching up with you!"
Major Celebration Dialogue:
"You know, Cromby..maybe we should take a break from our business, we're making a few people upset by it."
"Agreed. What should we do to be occupied til then?"
"Hm..maybe we could sell Bugsnax? I could..borrow that trap the journalist uses."
"Yeah..yeah I like that idea!"
"It's settled! Cromy and Amly's marketing lives on!"
"We need a better name."
"Yeah.."
*approaching him*
"Heya doll, how's the party?"
*asked to dance*
"Sorry, but I'm working. Maybe when we sell out."
*sold out*
"Wow! That was quick, how's about a dance Cromy?"
"You bet! Meet you on the dance floor!"
Reaction to partner(I guess..he paired with Cromdo and Beff):
Cromdo: "Grumping..NO!"
Beffica: "Wait..no..what..what's going on?!"
Dying message:
"I'm nothing but a liar..a cold..worthless liar. I hurt so many people..no wonder I have no friends..at least I got bugsnax.."
Final message(Good ending):
"What the ever grump was all that?! Why..did...oh zonk who cares?We're alive! Ha ha! Amly lives to see a new day!
You know..after all of this..I think I'll finally turn over that new leaf..I'll quit my job..and start fresh in the country. I should also apologize to everyone I hurt, so..sorry doll, I stole your pen...
Geez that took a lot out of me! Ah! This'll be hard!
But..it feels..kinda nice..guess I shouldn't wait around..farewell, til we cross paths again, doll."
Final message(Bad ending)
"What..the grump? Cromdo..he's..gone. This..makes me..realize..our lives are so..fragile, I..shouldn't waste it..
Oh Cromdo..if I known that..I would have put myself in your place
At least..maybe we could be together..again
Business partners forever...ha.."
I over complicate everything

Hey Ya would you mind if I requested Prompt list #5 number 52 with Alfie Solomons. If you don't mind. I'd also like number 1 and 2 if you can add it in. I was thinking of his secretary who does not have much experience with men and is quite shy. But anything you come up with would be great. Really love your work.
Have you ever kissed anyone before?”
“Can I kiss you?”
I don’t think you’re annoying…I know…I don’t…I really like listening to and hearing what you have to say even if its a lot sometimes..”
~~~~~~~~~~~
            “Ah, Lucy, have a nice lunch?” Alfie greeted his secretary when she came in to deliver some messages.
            “Yes, thank you for giving me some extra time, I was meeting with some friends.” Lucy, the shy young woman who had been working for Alfie for a little under a year, gave him a grateful smile.
            “That’s nice. Meeting with friends is always nice.” He commented a bit mindlessly as he took the small stack of messages from her. “Weather’s awful, innit?” It was such a rare occurrence that he would initiate small talk with employees. But with Lucy, it was different. He tended to hold a conversation longer than anyone else in the bakery. She didn’t really notice the discrepancies and thought he was just being pleasant. Mind you, it was pleasantness that she didn’t expect from a gang leader. Still, she appreciated it because she would much rather be on his good side.
            Alfie did notice how he treated her differently. It wasn’t by mistake. Ollie was gobsmacked when he heard his boss was hiring a woman. Alfie was insistent on not having women in business matters. But Lucy’s employment was a result of a tangled mess of debts. Her father was in deep with Alfie and had nothing else to give and no more time to bide. So, he offered his daughter as the sacrificial lamb.
            Alfie took great offense to this and turned down the offer. But the idea was keeping him up at night. The man who was so willing to hand over his daughter to a crime boss would be willing to do anything. Haunted, Alfie forgave the debts and gave Lucy a job. But he had a condition that she would move closer to the bakery, granting her a place of her own away from her father.
            That way, Alfie could sleep peacefully.
            What he didn’t anticipate was gaining feelings for the young woman who, despite her family life, was a ray of sunshine in the grime of London.
            “The sun is out, not a cloud in the sky,” Lucy remarked. “Why is that awful?”
            Alfie made a noise of discontent. “The heat, the fucking heat. S’like you’ve got layers upon layers of wool on. It’s bloody torture.” He muttered but of course, he wasn’t finished and continued. “It’s the coal and shit. All the factory smoke, what have you. Clogs up the air makes the heat worse. It just feels awful. Don’t it? Just feels different. Out in Margate, right, it can be hot in the summer, yeah, but it’s nice. Not all that shit in the air, it’s nice. Must be the sea air or somethin’. London summer, can’t fucking stand it.” Alfie looked up and realized Lucy was still standing there with a polite smile on her face. “Sorry, being annoying.” He mumbled apologetically. He didn’t want to subject her to his ranting like he did his men.
            “No, I don’t think you’re annoying. I really…well I like listening to what you have to say even if it’s a lot sometimes.” She giggled softly.
            He appreciated her honesty. It was a sign that she wasn’t completely terrified of him. “You ever been to Margate?” He asked.
            “No, never.”
            “Have to take you one day. You’ll see what I mean.” He cleared his throat, trying to cover up the fact that he had proposed something like a little vacation for them. “Did you have a good time with your friends?” Alfie was kicking himself for prolonging the conversation. But he couldn’t shut his mouth, he wanted just another moment with her.
            Lucy shrugged, the smile slipping from her face. “It was okay. They’re always on my case about…” She seemed to remember she was with her boss so she stopped. “They can be pests sometimes.” She clarified, hoping that would end the subject.
            His brow raised. He couldn’t imagine what anyone would have to pester her about. She was absolutely lovely and he never had a complaint. “’Bout what?”
            “Her face slowly began to go red. “I guess…just that I’m not married yet. Or even dating.” She admitted.
            “Well, ain’t a fixed time for when you’ve gotta be married.” He replied casually. “In your own time. I’m sure you’ve got plenty of blokes to pick from, all lining up at your door.” He said without trying to sound jealous.
            Lucy let out a small, nervous laugh. “Oh no, not at all. I haven’t…” Her hands wrung together.
            “Haven’t dated anyone?”
            “No, not quite.”
            Lucy’s shy manner led Alfie to pry more even if it was a bit rude of him to do so. “Have you ever even kissed anyone before?”
            Her eyes dropped to the floor, her cheeks turning an even brighter shade of red as she shook her head.
            He realized the position he suddenly found himself in. “Erm, well that’s fine. Nothing to be ashamed ‘bout. Sorry, I’ve been a bit nosy.”
            Lucy looked up and blurted out, “Can I kiss you?”
            Both of them were left in a state of shock when the words left her mouth. She looked utterly mortified, a hand clapped over her mouth.
            “Me?” All this time Alfie thought his affection was just one-sided. Lucy was nice, but he figured she was only being nice because it was her job and perhaps, she was slightly intimidated by him. But now, here was this confession that they had both been pining after each other.
            “Oh, Alfie, I-I’m so sorry I didn’t…” She stammered and backed up to go to the door before she embarrassed herself more.
            Alfie stood up to stop her. He shut the door, standing very close to her. “D’you mean that?”
            Lucy almost had tears of shame streaming down her cheeks. She had ruined such a good thing.
            “Be honest.” He prompted.
            “I’m sorry. That was so out of line and-”
            “Just tell me.” He said in a calm voice so she knew he wasn’t angry.
            Lucy bit her lip and nodded. “I’m sorry, I thought that maybe you felt the same way but I-”
            Alfie reached up to gently cup her cheek. The touch sent jolts of electricity down her spine. She never noticed how gentle his eyes were when he looked at her. “Not here, yeah? Margate. Make it nice and special.” He said softly before kissing her cheek.
            Lucy’s lips were parted in disbelief. “Margate.” She whispered back in agreement.
            “This weekend.”
            She nodded. “Okay, I’ll be there.”
Horseshoe Overlook - Americans at Rest
Tumblr media
Minnie looked up from cleaning her rifle to the sound of hoofbeats, relieved that it was her father finally returning home after being to town all day. "Ya get lost?" She questioned with a grin, teasing him.
"I might have," Her father replied, stopping Trace at the hitching post outside the cabin. "I met a feller and we got to talkin' and I lost track of time." He explained.
"Did you talk the poor man's head off?" She chuckled.
"No, he actually liked talkin' to me. He didn't talk much of himself though. Just another ear to listen I suppose. Real nice feller. You'd like him!"
"Is that so?" She scoffed.
"Sure is! He looked a little older than you, but was real polite and charming. You would've fallen in love with his eyes," He explained, knowing his daughter was soft for blue eyes. Jameson was always a man who remembered another's face. In his time, it was crucial to remember a familiar face.
Minnie's heart fluttered as she immediately thought of the "man in blue" back on the Cornwall train. 'That's a one in a million chance it was him' she thought to herself, frowning in disappointment. "So, that's what you do: playing matchmaker for your daughter!" She laughed, shaking the memory of the man's blue eyes from her mind.
"Nah, I just met him while I was having a drink and we got to talking. He reminded me of you, so I immediately brought you up." He explained.
"You didn't tell him my name, did you?" She rose her brows.
"Of course not!"
"Good," She smiled. "I'll go make some dinner," She said as she stood to her feet before stretching by raising her arms above her head. "You still play your banjo? You said earlier that you missed playing."
"I haven't lately. Say, you wanna sing with me later?" He suggested.
"Of course, pa," Minnie smiled. "Give me an hour to make dinner." She assured as she walked into the cabin after getting the provisions from Trace's saddlebag. She caught a glimpse of her father staring off into the distance again like he had done earlier, worried about something happening. She sighed as she knew sooner or later, he would have to be under supervision twenty-four seven. She made her way to the chest at the foot of her bed, pulling out a dark blue skirt to compliment her cream-colored blouse. She tied her apron around her waist as she made haste in getting dinner prepared. Dusk was soon approaching as she lit a lantern to flatter the inside of the cabin while her father lit the lantern that hung from the porch.
"I'll be right back!" He announced from outside. "Goin' to go put Trace up!"
She nodded as she looked at him through the window, rapidly stirring the heated corn kernels, mixing cream and flour in them as it was heating up, making creamed corn as she waited for the camp bread to rise as they cooked on a cast-iron skillet.
"You comin' in for dinner?" She asked as the food was finally ready. It wasn't much, but it was definitely a bigger meal than what was typical: creamed corn, camp bread, celery sticks, salted beef, and potato slices.
"This looks great, dear!" He applauded as he sat across from her at the small table. She smiled as she set his prepared plate in front of him as well as the skillet of camp bread in the middle of the table just in case they wanted more.
"Thank you," She replied as she poured him a tin cup of water before pouring her own as she sat down to join him.
"How long you plan on stayin'?" He asked.
"What kind of question is that?" She furrowed her brows.
"You know exactly what I'm askin'. You know I hate talkin' about this, but I need to know." He replied, his mouth full of creamed corn.
She sighed, "I don't know. We have quite a bit of money for now, so I don't think I'd be goin' anywhere any time soon." She assured him, sighing a breath of relief as she saw him smile at her response. She could tell it made him happy to hear that as well as she, but she knew she would have to leave sometime soon.
Their conversations were brief as they ate, grateful that they were able to eat a meal this big compared to the simple diet of beans, camp bread, and dried fruit. During their meal, she couldn't help but notice how fidgety her father was, which wasn't normal for him unless he was eager to do something.
"What's eatin' at you, pa?" She asked.
"When I was talking to the feller I met, we got to talkin' about how we used to be in church. I miss playin' my banjo while you sing. It brings back so many memories. Wanna go play?" He asked, his grey eyes pleading for remembrance as he was desperate to ignore the awful gut feeling he had of things about to take a turn for the worst.
She smiled, "I haven't sang in years..."
"That don't matter. You know you'll feel better if you sing. Takes stress off ya!" He suggested.
"Alright, fair enough! You got me!" She chuckled. "Let me clean these plates up first. I'll meet you out on the porch." She said. He nodded as he slowly stood to his feet, grabbing his banjo as he walked to the front porch. She grew excited as she heard him tune up the instrument, knowing that he was eager to play as it was one of his many talents. Brief thoughts came back to her from when she would sing in the choir at church growing up, looking at her father for comfort to ease her nerves as he played the banjo while the church group sang. In a way, she needed this as much as he did.
She wiped her hands on her apron before removing it, grabbing a bottle of whiskey to take with her to soothe her nerves, even if she was just singing in front of herself and her father. "Alright, what song should we do?" She asked, sitting down in the rocking chair next to her father.
"Wayfaring Stranger" to start out. It's slow and I know I'm a bit rusty." He chuckled.
"I don't know if I remember the words!" She giggled.
"You will, dear," He assured. "You ready?"
She nodded as she gulped, closing her eyes, waiting to hear the soft strums of the banjo to get the rhythm of the old song.
I am a poor wayfaring stranger Traveling through this world alone There is no sickness, toil nor danger In that fair land to which I go
I'm goin' home to meet my mother I'm  goin' home, no more to roam I am just goin' over Jordan I am just goin' over home
I know dark clouds will hover o'er me I know my pathway's rough and steep But golden fields lie out before me Where weary eyes no more will weep
I'm goin' home to meet my father I'm  goin' home, no more to roam I am just goin' over Jordan I am just goin' over home
youtube
"I told ya!" He cheered her, chills erecting on his forearms. His daughter really had the voice of an angel. "What about "Cruel World?"
"I'll see if I can remember that one! That one's new!" She chuckled, feeling more confident as her natural talent came back to her.
Cruel, cruel world, must I go on? Cruel, cruel world, I'm moving on I've been living too fast And I've been living too long Cruel, cruel world, I'm gone
This big ol' world sure got me running 'round I heard a voice that said, "Just settle down" And with the moonlight as my guide And with this feeling deep inside I know now that I am homeward bound
"Should we do another?" She asked, taking another shot of whiskey to calm her rattling nerves. It felt as if every other problem in the world has faded away, even the gang lurking in the distance, waiting to make their move.
He smiled as he strummed his banjo once more, his mind searching for the next song to suggest, but his mind was boggled by the irritable gut pain he kept getting, feeling like he was being watched.
"What have we got here? A party?" A man said from horseback, holding his lantern up. Minnie's eyes widened as she stood to her feet, standing in a protective stance in front of her father.
"Mind your business," She snarled.
"Oh, I am, darlin'. You see, I have a reason to be here tonight,"
"Yeah? And I have a reason to shoot you if you don't leave right now!" She warned, raising her brows.
The stranger chuckled, "Ha! I don't see that happenin'," He said as a few more men appeared from the perimeter.
'Me and my big mouth,' She scolded herself.
"Dear, I believe your sins have come to get their due." She heard her father say.
That sentence stung her heart, but she knew he was right. "Get inside," She said.
"What're you gonna do?" He whispered.
"Don't worry about it. They look like bounty hunters. They just want me-"
"Oh, we don't just want you, but this house. Ya see, your buddy needs a place to stay-"
"Your buddy will have a hole in the ground to stay in. Not here, so get lost!" She hissed.
"Get lost, huh?" She heard a familiar voice say.
Colm O'Driscoll.
"Shit," She mumbled. "You heard me," She said, making her voice stern. She never wanted her father to be involved in her ways of being an outlaw, but she came to peace with the fact that he would eventually.
"You're right, I did. Loud and clear. Now you hear me: we're takin' your home. We need a hideout. Now if you want to live with your pa here, I suggest you move aside and let us in," Colm explained.
"Over my dead body!" She snarled.
Colm shrugged his shoulders, taking his pistol from his holster, pulling the hammer back, "If you say so," He said, pulling the trigger, except his aim wasn't on her, but her father.
With a grunt and thud, he landed on the porch. She immediately knelt down to him, holding his head in her hands, crying uncontrollably, apologizing to him, "I'm so sorry! I'll never be able to forgive myself for this!" She cried, her tears blurring her vision. He tightly gripped her hand, using his thumb to rub the top of her hand. "Never be sorry. It's how the ways things is," He panted. "I love you,"
"I love you too," She cried, bowing her head to where her forehead was resting on his. "Give momma a kiss for me,"
He chuckled quietly, "I know she's a-waitin' on me!"
"Get her outta my sight!" She heard Colm demand. She tried her best to fight the two men grabbing her, pulling her away from her father. "Dump him in the wagon right there!" He demanded, pointing to the unusable wagon sitting a few yards away from the cabin.
Both of the men gripped her harshly by her arms, dragging her away from her now-deceased father. Her body was numb and her brain felt stunned while her vision was blurred by her tears. Her heart was broken.
Both of Colm's men drug her into the cabin, using a stiff rope to tie her wrists around the thick cot post before tying her ankles together. "Where should we start?" Colm asked as he walked into the cabin, scavenging the food that had previously been prepared.
"Don't think there ain't shit here, boss." One of the men said.
Colm smirked, "Oh, there's somethin' here. Search every cabinet and chest," He directed. The men nodded as they followed orders. Minnie shut her eyes and turned her head as she felt Colm's presence tower over her, his rough hand gripping her jaw and turning her face towards him. "You got prettier," He whispered, evident of the bourbon he had been drinking. "You think you could get away with threatenin' me like that?" He mocked.
"I still can," She spat. "There ain't much you can do to me now. I got nothin' better to live for."
"Very cooperative, Miss Barlow. Congratulations, you'll be livin' your new life in prison after we have ya turned in. That's a mighty fine bounty you got on your head." He said.
"'Bout as big as the one on yours," She replied, pursing her lips. "I'd rather rot in prison than sit and hear your bullshit words," She opened her eyes to stare into his, taunting him. He clenched his fingers harder against her skin, wanting to make her wince, which she didn't. He didn't want to admit that she was as tough as nails as he was going to do everything in his power to make her crumble.
"What're you gonna do? Hit me? So big and bad." She mocked. Without a response, he did just that, smacking her clean across the face twice, slightly splitting her lip.
"You're gonna wish you didn't piss me off." He said, roughly pulling her closer to him, his lips centimeters from her cheek.
"Likewise."
A few days later...
Arthur took a long draw from his cigarette as he walked through the saloon in Valentine, scanning the area for Javier and Charles. He remembered that Hosea had said they had been going back and forth to Valentine since arriving at Horseshoe Overlook, haste to get a drink almost every night. He put out the cigarette with his boot, walking over to his fellow gang members, chuckling as they were trying to get in between the sheets with the local working girls.
"Hey! Alright, here we go!" Javier cheered as he had talked one of the working girls he had his eyes on to take back a shot of hard liquor he had paid for. Javier had always been one to try too hard to get women. "Oh, Arthur! Come here, come here!" He said, grabbing him by the shoulder. "Come over here, I want you to meet our friends,"
"Please to meet you," Arthur said, not interested in getting to know these women, although he couldn't keep his eyes off of the younger woman's oversized breasts. 'No wonder Javier wants a go at that,' He thought to himself.
"Well ain't you just the tough as teak mountain man," The large-breasted woman flirted, her eyes scanning him up and down, biting her lip at his strong build and broad shoulders.
"Oh, you be quiet, Anastasia, anyone can tell this one is a pussy cat!" The other woman teased.
"Exactly, yes he's a pussy...cat," Javier said, bringing back the attention of the women to himself. "Ain't that so, Arthur?"
"Whatever you say," Arthur replied, standing back to look at the women up and down like they did to him. "How much you cost, anyway?"
"Well ain't that a nice way to talk to a lady," Anastasia flirted, resting her elbows on the bar as she leaned back.
"Oh, I didn't know I was talkin' to a lady," Arthur sneered, thankful that they got offended.
"Excuse me," Anastasia said, embarrassed, gesturing for the other girl to follow her, Charles attempting to graze her arm as he was almost heartbroken that she was leaving.
"Well, I must say, you got a fine way with the women, amigo," Javier sighed.
"Yeah, a regular dandy and a charmer," Arthur chuckled, now leaning against the bar. "Where's Bill?" He asked before taking back a shot.
"Oh, man, I dread to think about it," Javier replied, taking a drink for his own. "Hey hey hey, there he is!" Javier pointed to his now-drunken friend, staggering through the saloon doors, accidentally bumping into a fellow customer.
"Hey! Watch where you're goin'!" Bill spat, pushing the man away from him.
"Take it easy!" The local replied.
"Is he about to kiss that guy or punch him?" Arthur questioned, taking another shot as he knew he was about to get his knuckles bloody.
"Oh, and we have our answer!" Javier said, taking the lead and attacking the man that punched Bill.
Arthur sighed as he prepared his fists by cracking his knuckles and rolling his shoulders as he made his way to an opponent, delivering a few good blows before being punched himself, making his anger peak.
"Let's just shoot these bastards!" He heard Bill yell as he was growing more agitated that he was receiving more punches than delivering.
"Don't think that's a good idea!" Arthur grunted as he used the pillar to slam his opponent's head, knocking him out cold.
"Ain't there no men in this saloon?" Bill teased as three men had him cornered, two holding each of his arms as the third was delivering blows to his abdomen and face. Arthur groaned as he grabbed the man by the shoulders, turning him around to hook him square in the jaw, sending him staggering until he fell backward, holding his face.
"What the hell is goin' on down here?" A gruff voice said from atop the staircase. Arthur's eyes widened at how big this man was, secretly hoping that he wasn't going to have to fight him. 'With my luck...' He thought.
"No, Tommy, stay outta this!" The bartender pleaded as he took shelter behind the bar.
"Come here, you little greaser!" Tommy mocked, his attention on Javier.
Javier shook his knuckles as he attempted to throw a punch at him, Arthur following closely behind before being struck from behind by a man with an old wooden chair, wrapping his arms around Arthur's neck, using his elbow to squeeze.
"Get the hell off me!" Arthur grunted as he used his elbow to deliver a few strikes to his abdomen. Once he was weakened, Arthur escaped from his grip, using everything he had to throw a solid punch to the man's temple, knocking him out cold.
"He ain't gettin' up from that!" Bill chuckled. "Javier needs some help, Morgan!" He said.
Arthur rushed to Javier, whose face was being implanted into the wooden table closest to the window.
"Hey, tough guy!" Arthur yelled, grabbing Tommy by the shoulders, pulling him off of Javier before punching him in the stomach. Tommy pursed his lips before grabbing Arthur's jacket collar, striking him in the cheek before effortlessly throwing him across the table. "You want some too, huh?" Tommy mocked as Arthur struggled to get up, trying to catch his breath. Tommy gripped his jacket, using his body to almost throw Arthur through the window, tumbling into the muddy street below.
"Come on, pretty boy," Tommy mocked, marching down the three steps that led out of the saloon.
"You're kiddin' me, pretty boy?" Arthur questioned as he staggered to his feet, mentally preparing himself for another brawl.
The men boxed for a good few minutes before Arthur finally had the final say, straddling Tommy as he repeatedly delivered multiple blows to the man's face, wondering why he wasn't out cold yet. If it were up to him, he would've shot him by now.
"Stop! Stop! Please!" A bystander intervened, putting himself between Arthur as he was sure he was close to splitting Tommy's skull. "Please, I beg you. Stop. Come, sir. You won the fight already, surely that's enough?" The man suggested.
"What business is it of yours?" Arthur growled.
"No business," The man replied, coughing as he spit bile from his mouth. "No business, sir, but please, I beg you-"
Arthur had enough, pushing past the man as he quickly tended to Tommy. Arthur grabbed his shoulder as it was aching more than any other limb, making his way to the general store to have a seat on the bench outside, not even noticing Dutch's presence.
"Making new friends again I see, Arthur," He heard a familiar foreign voice say.
"Look who we found sniffing about," Dutch said, introducing the gang's longtime friend, Josiah Trelawny, a former member of the Van der Linde gang and Englishman. By how Arthur noted how he was dressed, he wasn't the only one giving him the odd look of 'this man is a long way from civilization.'
"Josiah Trelawny," Arthur said.
"The very same!" Dutch chuckled as Josiah did a bow, introducing himself.
"Well, well," Arthur said as he took a seat on the bench. "I thought you'd gone to New York?"
"And miss all this glamour?" Josiah replied in his sing-song voice. "You must be joking!"
"How are you?" Arthur asked as he now stood up to walk off his aches as sitting only seemed to make it worse.
"Quite well indeed," Josiah replied. "I went to Blackwater looking for you gentlemen. You're not very popular down there it seems," He explained. "Ah Javier and Charles! I've missed you! And Bill looking as well as can be. Gentlemen, always a pleasure!"
"You're right, we ain't too popular in Blackwater," Dutch nodded as the men seemed to be gathered in a small circle to talk about future plans.
"We left a lot of money there," Arthur said to Josiah as he was now sitting on the steps to the general store, finding the steps more comfortable than the bench.
"And young Sean it seems," Josiah added, referring to the young, cocky Irishman who had been with the gang and captured by the lawmen in Blackwater.
"Sean? You found him?" Dutch asked.
"Yes, I have!" Josiah nodded. "He's being held by some bounty hunters trying to see how much money the government will pay them. I know he's in Blackwater, but there's talk of him moving," He explained.
"Well, if we step foot in Blackwater well, then we're dead men for sure," Arthur warned, groaning as a sharp pain entered his jaw as he almost struggled to stand up.
"They'll be Pinkertons all over the place, but if he's alive we gotta try," Dutch said.
"Yeah, of course,"
"It's you they want, Dutch," Josiah warned.
"Always is. Charles, go find out what you can, carefully. Josiah, take Javier. Arthur, go get yourself cleaned up. Join them when you're ready," Dutch commanded.
"Well, what about me?" Bill asked, walking with Dutch as he dismissed himself.
"Well exactly, what about you?"
"W-What does that mean?"Bill questioned.
"Ah, Bill. Come on,"
Arthur shook his head as he made his way to the barrel of water in the alleyway, quickly cleaning his face before heading to the hotel to pay happily for a piping hot bath and a warm bed to stay in.
CAGED WAS SO GOOD ASVKDKAK
i do have a question though! because osamu kept on confusing me with his actions and words. does he actually love y/n or did he just simply want to use her for his own purpose?
JEJSIWKE I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED! :D
Both 😌
References to Caged down below, tags&tw's are at the top of the fic's post and its themes are included in the response below the cut! Please check them before reading ✌
Osamu absolutely loves y/n, but he was also using her... he wanted to be the mafia boss. Over the years he was gone, he worked hard and got himself to second in command. But he didn't want to just wait for Ryūjin to die so he plotted to kill him and take over; he gathered supporters and kept an eye out for a good opportunity. And he got lucky, Ryūjin meeting with the love of his life's future father-in-law. He knew he could get it done through you and get you back by his side all at once. Two birds with one stone.
Osamu's concept of love has been twisted with his time in the underworld. He cares about y/n and he wants her by his side; He couldn't even begin to look at another woman the way he does y/n.
He wanted her back with him whatever it took, (but he didn't want her to be in danger, I'll explain that below) so he heavily manipulated her. He knew y/n is a good and innocent person and that she wouldn't come back to him if she knew what he'd become.
I hope I made it clear by the end, but Osamu has no qualms about being in the mafia. Every time he seemed upset by being in the mafia or scared, or looked like he felt bad about killing that guy.... that was all fake. It's not that he couldn't leave (though they definitely wouldn't have let him quit if he'd tried), he didn't actually want to.
Tumblr media
In these two lines Red is Absolute bullshit and Blue is Truth.
"This is why I never came back, it's why I never called. It's not because I didn't want to. I was trying to keep ya safe."
"I never wanted you to see me this... Ya shouldn't have to see me like this. I just saw him hurting you and lost it."
Now for the next... I didn't make these inherently obvious but there are still lies here. Osamu definitely does not want out.
"They know I want out!" Osamu snaps harshly. Upon seeing the look on your face, he sighs and rubs his face, softening his expression. "God, I'm sorry baby, I didn't mean to yell. Just– fuck this is not how this was supposed to go." He sinks to his knees, uncaring of the water soaking into his pants. "I'm useful to them, 'n I know too much—they can't just let me walk away. So they're goin' after the only thing I'd leave 'em for. As a warning or a punishment, I don't know."
Why purple? Well, because these are half truths.. Osamu definitely had you at the hotel so he could involve you in his scheme and get you to join him. But he did not bank on one of his own gang showing up to assault you.
People in the Fox Den who are still loyal to Ryūjin were catching wind of his plot, and so they followed him when he went to the hotel to get answers and try to hurt him/deter him.
Tumblr media
Now that final scene where Osamu is explaining himself to you, what he says about Atsumu is another half truth. Protecting his brother was just a bonus to him becoming the mafia boss. Great, but not the real reason. He just wanted wanted be in charge.
His love for you is real. He never would have involved you until he was certain he would end up on top and could guarantee your safety.
