i've been around in the ii fandom long enough to see a change in the way certain ships are named

specifically around microphone. like, i used to only see tacophone, but recently i've been seeing people call it tacomic. also, i thought of soap x mic as soapcrophone, but i've seen soapmic. i've also seen testmic, but i haven't seen another ship name for that (that i remember).

i think it's interesting. i think the reason why is because of the ambiguity that microphone and mephone4 (and other mephones, by extension, but i've only ever seen him and 4s be shipped (that i remember of)) could have in ship names, given that they share a part of their name.

i wonder where the trend started... (if it started in a specific place)
