Reopen the maternity hospital in Sollefteå, Sweden!
I need you to spread this!!!
In my old hometown Sollefteå they had this maternity hospital (one of the best in Sweden). Last year the political majority decided to close it against public opinion and their own promises in the election (!). This was executed February 1st and the entrance has since been occupied by people from the city (and elsewhere) in a last attempt to make their voices heard.
Why is this so important?
Because it’s everyone’s right to a safe childbirth. Or at least that’s what we thought our 30 % taxes went to.
Now people have to drive at least 120 km on bad roads.
It took 22 days until someone had to give birth to her child in the front seat of her car, something the politicians said would be so rare it wouldn’t really be an issue.
When they did this in Kiruna one child (as I know of) died on the way to the hospital and they still haven’t gotten their MH back.
You can sign a petition here.

Welp
Someone ruined the local war and veteran memorial of my town the other day. It was loosened off the fixtures on the slab, it was decided to take down lest it fall over and break, or on kids playing near it.

1: A lamp. The worst lamp.
2: A random decoration with the best name ever, Bratt Bratt. Not only funny but also informative: I did not know about the feeling “afraud” until now.
3: Another wall-decoration. Makes more sense than the comic though.
4: A photo of a tiny plaster figurine. It’s supposed to be a toddler removing a sock from its foot. Why was it there? No idea.
5: Very dapper lady.
6: A mallard teapot.
Found in a temporarily opened thrift shop in Sollefteå, Sweden.

Translated from Swedish:
Ebba Andersson switches clubs: “Inspiring”
Ebba Andersson leaves Sollefteå Skidor IF. The Swedish national team skier now switches club to Piteå Elit. “The transition feels inspiring and secure in preparation before this winter’s competitions”, says Ebba Andersson.
Ebba Andersson moves to Piteå Elit together with her brother Fredrik Andersson.
“We hope to be able to make the most of ourselves even more both in and outside of the tracks together with all the skilled athletes, coaches and waxers in Piteå”, they both say on Piteå Elit’s facebook page.
Ebba Andersson, who leaves Sollefteå, looks forward to the coming season with the new club.
“The transition feels inspiring and secure in preparation before this winter’s competitions”, she says.
This past World Cup season yielded six individual podiums in total for 22-year-old Ebba Andersson.
Part of Piteå Elit since before are among others national team members Charlotte Kalla, Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom.
