yo betsy do you have an android phone? bc if you do you can download an older version of discord https://m.apkpure.com/discord-talk-chat-hang-out/com.discord/download/204.18%20-%20Stable <- at this link (it's safe i promise). i'd advise turning off auto update in google play and uninstalling discord (if you havent already) and switching off google play protect before you try to install it but once youve done all that it should work & be back at the old layout. sucks that you have to do all this but ive done it so its tried and true. apologies if this ask is useless because you have an iphone im not sure what you can do in that case bc im not well versed in iphones but there could also be a solution there..?
i already tried backdating it and it didn't work for me which is happening for some people apparently? not sure as to why or how that is but shrugs
im also going to be entirely honest i Do think that like... more people uninstalling the app and not using discord for a while is one of the best ways to potentially pressure them into bringing back the old theme (i think the ui is probably a lost cause, but i can ultimately get used to that) so even if backdating had worked i probably would have decided to stay off it anyway.
i am looking for potential alternatives and i will keep people posted if i decide to move my server elsewhere

Is Your Phone Hanging Frequently? Here’s What You Can Do to Stop It
Is Your Phone Hanging Frequently? Here’s What You Can Do to Stop It
In today’s fast-paced digital world, smartphones have become an essential part of our daily lives. Whether for work, entertainment, or staying connected with friends and family, we rely on them heavily. But there’s nothing more frustrating than when your phone starts hanging or freezing frequently. A phone that lags, crashes, or becomes unresponsive can be incredibly inconvenient, and in some cases, it can make your device almost unusable.
This article explores the causes of frequent phone hanging and provides comprehensive solutions to prevent and fix this issue. By the end, you will have a detailed understanding of the problem and effective methods to keep your phone running smoothly.
1. Understanding Why Your Phone Hangs
Before diving into solutions, it’s essential to understand why your phone might be hanging. There are several potential causes, and they often vary depending on the phone’s hardware, operating system, and usage patterns.
A. Insufficient Memory (RAM)
Random Access Memory (RAM) is a critical component that allows your phone to run multiple applications simultaneously. When too many apps or processes are open, or if the device has limited RAM, the system may struggle to keep up, resulting in freezes or crashes.
B. Low Internal Storage
Storage plays a significant role in the overall performance of your phone. When your phone’s internal storage is nearly full, it can’t create temporary files or operate smoothly. This often leads to lagging or hanging issues, as the system struggles to manage space.
C. Outdated Software
Running an outdated operating system (OS) or outdated apps can cause compatibility issues, bugs, and performance slowdowns. This can happen if your phone is no longer receiving OS updates, or if apps are not optimized for the version of the OS you are using.
D. Malware or Virus
Phones can become infected with malware or viruses through malicious apps, links, or websites. These infections often result in poor performance, crashes, and even data theft, significantly affecting your phone’s speed and responsiveness.
E. Heavy Apps or Background Processes
Some applications, particularly gaming or media-heavy apps, require substantial system resources. Running such apps on a phone with limited processing power can lead to frequent freezing or hanging. Additionally, many apps run background processes even when they are not in use, further straining the phone's resources.
F. Overheating
Phones can overheat due to extended use, environmental conditions, or hardware malfunctions. Overheating can cause the phone to hang as the system throttles performance to reduce the temperature.
G. Buggy Apps
Sometimes, the issue is not with your phone but with a poorly optimized or buggy app. An app that hasn’t been properly coded can consume excess resources, leading to freezing or lagging when in use.
H. Battery Health
A deteriorating battery can also be responsible for performance issues. If the battery can no longer supply adequate power to the device, it can cause the phone to hang or shut down unexpectedly.
2. Comprehensive Solutions to Stop Phone Hanging Issues
Now that we’ve covered the causes, let’s explore actionable solutions that can help prevent and resolve frequent phone hanging issues.
A. Restart Your Phone Regularly
Restarting your phone clears the RAM and shuts down any background processes that may be consuming system resources. Make it a habit to restart your phone at least once every few days to keep it running smoothly. A simple restart can often resolve minor software glitches and give your phone a performance boost.
B. Clear Cache and Uninstall Unnecessary Apps
Over time, apps accumulate cached data, which can take up significant storage space and slow down the phone. Clearing cache can free up storage and improve performance. To do this:
Android: Go to Settings > Storage > Cached data, then clear it.
iPhone: The cache is automatically managed, but you can clear cache from individual apps or reinstall apps to clear their data.
Additionally, uninstall apps you no longer use. Many apps run background services even when not in use, contributing to performance issues. Keeping only the apps you need will reduce the load on your phone’s resources.
C. Free Up Internal Storage
If your phone is low on internal storage, try to free up space by deleting unnecessary files such as old photos, videos, or documents. You can also transfer these to cloud storage or an external memory card.
Most phones need at least 10-20% of free storage to operate efficiently. Deleting large files, moving apps to an SD card (on Android devices), and uninstalling unnecessary applications can greatly enhance your phone’s performance.
D. Keep Your Software Up to Date
Ensure that your phone’s operating system and apps are up to date. Updates often contain bug fixes, performance improvements, and security patches. To check for system updates:
Android: Go to Settings > System > System updates.
iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
If your phone is no longer supported with software updates, it may be time to consider upgrading to a newer device.
E. Limit Background Processes
Certain apps consume a lot of resources in the background, even when not actively in use. You can limit these processes to free up system resources:
Android: Go to Settings > Developer Options (enable it first by tapping “Build Number” seven times) > Limit Background Processes.
iPhone: Disable Background App Refresh under Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
Additionally, avoid running too many apps simultaneously and close apps that you’re not using.
F. Remove or Disable Bloatware
Many phones, especially those sold by carriers, come with pre-installed apps known as bloatware. These apps often consume resources, even if they’re not in use. You can uninstall or disable bloatware to prevent it from affecting your phone’s performance:
Android: Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > App info, and uninstall or disable unwanted apps.
iPhone: While iPhones generally have fewer bloatware issues, you can delete unnecessary pre-installed apps that you don’t need.
G. Scan for Malware and Viruses
If you suspect that your phone is infected with malware, run a thorough antivirus scan. Several reputable apps are available for Android devices, such as Avast, Kaspersky, or Bitdefender. iPhones are less prone to malware due to their closed ecosystem, but if your device has been jailbroken, it could be vulnerable. Remove any suspicious apps and avoid installing apps from unknown sources.
H. Avoid Overheating Your Phone
To prevent overheating, avoid using your phone while it’s charging, close resource-heavy apps when not in use, and keep your phone out of direct sunlight or hot environments. If your phone is overheating regularly, it may be a sign of a hardware issue, such as a failing battery or malfunctioning processor, and should be inspected by a professional.
I. Factory Reset (As a Last Resort)
If none of the above solutions work and your phone continues to hang frequently, performing a factory reset may be necessary. A factory reset restores your phone to its original settings, removing all apps, files, and data. It’s a last resort, but it can resolve persistent software issues.
Before doing a factory reset, make sure to back up all important data:
Android: Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
J. Check Battery Health
If your phone hangs frequently, it might be due to poor battery health. For iPhones, you can check the battery’s health by going to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. For Android, third-party apps like AccuBattery can provide similar information. If the battery’s health is deteriorating, replacing the battery may resolve the issue.
K. Upgrade Your Device
If your phone is old and consistently hangs despite your best efforts, the hardware may no longer be able to keep up with the demands of modern apps and operating systems. In such cases, upgrading to a newer device with more RAM, better storage, and a faster processor may be the only solution.
3. Additional Tips to Improve Performance
Use Lite Versions of Apps: Many popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Google have “Lite” versions designed for devices with limited resources. Using these apps can help reduce the load on your phone’s system.
Disable Animations: On Android, you can reduce or disable system animations in Developer Options, which can improve performance on lower-end devices.
Optimize Battery Usage: Go to Settings > Battery and check which apps are consuming the most power. Disabling background activity for these apps can also help free up system resources.
Consider Using a Custom ROM (For Advanced Users): If you have an Android device and you’re tech-savvy, installing a custom ROM can provide performance optimizations not available in the stock OS. However, this requires careful research and comes with some risks, such as voiding the warranty.
Conclusion
Frequent phone hanging issues can be a source of frustration, but in most cases, they are easily fixable by following the steps outlined in this article. By regularly clearing cache, managing storage, updating software, and limiting background processes, you can significantly improve your phone's performance. If the problem persists, more drastic solutions like a factory reset or replacing the battery may be necessary.
While most phone issues are software-related and can be resolved with proper maintenance, older phones with outdated hardware might struggle to keep up with modern apps and operating systems. In such cases, upgrading to a newer device with better specifications may be the only long-term solution. For more details can visit Motorola service center Nagpur.
In the end, consistent care, proper usage, and an understanding of your phone's limitations can go a long way in preventing phone hanging issues, allowing you to enjoy a smooth and responsive mobile experience.

Scheduled Power On and Off Android And Text Messaging

Scheduled Power On and Off
Everyone wants more sophisticated and effective solutions to manage time and communication in today’s fast-paced world. Your phone’s text messaging and scheduled power on and off features are useful tools that make managing your hectic life easier. These two useful aspects will be covered in this post, which will help you organize your time more effectively and live a higher-quality life.
Scheduled Power On/Off improves the quality of your life and work:
Enjoy Your Sleep Without Concerns
After a long day, they all require unbroken sleep. Setting your phone to turn off at 11 PM can prevent messages and calls from waking you up at night. You can even set it to turn on at 7 AM to start the day fresh. This prolongs the life of your phone’s battery and enhances the quality of your sleep.
Increases focus in important meetings and tests
A ringing phone might be annoying during crucial meetings or tests. You may program your phone to switch off automatically during these hours and turn it back on afterwards using the scheduled power on and off option, which will help you remember to do it manually.
To enable it in the most recent HyperOS system, take these steps:

Sending a warm birthday greeting to a friend at midnight on their birthday, for instance, allows you to express your consideration without running the danger of forgetting.
At work, never miss a beat
In a professional situation, specific information needs to be sent at predetermined times to clients or colleagues. You can write these texts ahead of time and arrange them to be sent at the appropriate moment with the scheduled text message tool. To ensure that everyone receives the material on time and nothing is missed, for example, a meeting reminder might be sent out on Monday at 8 AM.
Boost your own spirits
A more intelligent and practical lifestyle can be achieved by combining text messaging and scheduled power on and off capabilities. For instance, you can program your phone to turn on automatically at 7 AM on workdays and to text yourself a calendar reminder at 8 AM that includes the key activities for the day. Your phone can be programmed to switch off automatically at 11 PM, providing you with extra inspiration for the next day and wishing yourself luck for tomorrow.

Educating Parents About Digital Awareness With Spy Apps

The Internet provides a lot of benefits to the kids including music, games, communicating with teachers or friends or researching things for school. But at the same time, the internet is also a big dangerous place with not much supervision whatsoever. Spy phone apps track their information and movements online, while kids can also be exposed to cyberbullies, identity theft, online predators and inappropriate content. Thus, it's a parent's responsibility to keep them safe online. With this blog, we will tell you the essential reasons behind the use of spy apps by parents to ward off invisible dangers.
Top hidden threats which can endanger your child’s online life
Cyberbullying:
A lot of kids who go through online harassment tend to suffer severe emotional distress but they won’t tell their parents. Hence, parents remain uninformed regarding the fact that their child could be disturbed mentally and emotionally due to cyberbullying. Monitoring your child's activities with the help of parental spy applications like Onemonitar will allow you as a parent to know about your child’s online activities and when he/she needs your help or guidance.
Irresponsible Online Behavior:
With apps like Whatsapp, Instagram etc. people can tend to share sensitive pictures and videos to strangers they meet online without thinking about the consequences but the problem is he/she doesn’t know the real identity of the person on the other side of the screen. With the help of a spy app for android, you can not only navigate but also control your loved ones’ inappropriate behavior before it's too late as this can lead to emotional and mental trauma.
Online predators:
The Internet is a safe heaven for child predators to find, target and groom children just how they want. You need to be always available for a discussion with your child and educate them regarding the potential cyber risks and also tell them about developing the habit of sharing what they do online with you. Also, reading news and informational stuff related to computers, smartphones, personal devices and related technological advancement can prove to be beneficial to keep oneself updated with the latest technology. Remember that as a parent until you make an effort you won't be able to decide whether or not your child is being targeted by online predators.
Indulging in Illegal Activities:
If you know about the online activities of your child, reading, discussing and monitoring them online can help you know whether your child is involved in suspicious or illegal activities. But the question that arises here as a parent is how do you know about it? How will you track your child’s online activity or behavior? And if you are unable to find the answer then don’t look any further as mobile spy apps can be the solution you need. Downloading and installing spy apps on your child’s device is the solution and Onemonitar is the best app you can choose to ensure the security of your child.
Identity theft:
More often, children are prone to reveal more of their personal information quickly online as compared to the real world. This is so because when you are interacting with strangers online, you cannot really figure out whether they are genuine people or not and you won’t be able to make out if their intentions are real. The way they chat with you may lead you to think that whatever they are saying, they mean it and are genuine people so anybody, especially young kids, can tend to share certain sensitive information to scammers unknowingly considering them as genuine people. This information can include their personal information like their phone number and home address. Even posting certain things can also harm their privacy like posting about their school and where they usually hang out with friends, all this information can give the predators easy access to your child and family.
Conclusion:
So, these are some of the reasons why parents tend to use spy apps and other parental solutions to protect their children from the potential risks of the internet. And when parents utilize spy phone apps like Onemonitar to track their children’s online activities then there is no doubt that these apps act as a bridge to understanding their child’s online behavior.

Your car came with a stereo, right? Maybe it’s fine and it does a decent job, and maybe you’re ok with it. But ask yourself this: Don’t you deserve better than fine and decent?
As a San Diego County resident, you spend hours in your car every week.Back and forth to work, to the grocery store, out to dinner, and now that the holidays are here, to the mall, to the airport, and to holiday parties. In fact, doesn’t it sometimes seem like, aside from the hours you sleep, you actually spend more time in your car than you do at home? So then why not make the experience as pleasurable as it can be?
This holiday season, give yourself the gift that keeps on giving: a high-quality car audio system. And just in case you need more convincing, here are five benefits to upgrading beyond your “fine” and “decent” car stereo:
Better Sound From Your Car Audio With A Premium Sound System
Car Stereo Installation Service near Albuquerque NM:Let’s face it. Your car manufacturer doesn’t care as much about your aural satisfaction as you do. Sure, factory systems have gotten better, but many of those premium systems still use relatively weak speakers and amps that deliver less-than-satisfactory sound. Even if all you do is upgrade your car’s system with high-quality aftermarket speakers, you’ll experience tighter bass and more overall clarity in your tunes.
Better Control Of Your Car Sound System And Speakers
When built to your specifications, a high-quality stereo system has the potential to give you optimal control over the way your music sounds. Most car receivers provide treble, mid-range, and bass control, which is fine for overall sound. But when you build your system with an equalizer, you have multiple points for adjusting your frequency response and ironing out problem peaks. In other words, a high-quality stereo system gives you the ability to fine-tune your tunes.
Better Car Commute In San Diego With A Premium Car Stereo
Remember back when those little tiny Walkman speakers made it possible to pipe the music from your Walkman into your bedroom or dorm room? Sure, you could hear the general idea of the song, but it was nothing like having your headphones on and the music all around you. Well, the difference between your car’s factory system and a high-quality aftermarket stereo is kinda like that. A great system plus Dynamat or any other sound-deadening material to lower interior noise levels will greatly enhance your listening pleasure. When you’re lost in your music, you might even cease to care that you’re in standstill traffic on northbound 805.
Better Communication On Your IPhone Or Android From Your Car
If you spend a lot of time in your car, there’s a good chance you also spend a lot of time on speakerphone. We hate to break it to you, but if you don’t have a decent Bluetooth-equipped system, you are probably annoying everyone on the other end of the phone. Think about it. When you call someone, and you can tell they’re driving because 1) there’s a ton of extra noise in the background, and 2) they sound like they’re shouting over the noise, don’t you hang up sooner than you might otherwise? Want better communication with your wife/husband/mom/kids/boss? Upgrade to a high-quality, Bluetooth-equipped stereo system. Everyone on the other end will thank you for it. If you get one with a simple interface, it’ll also make for safer driving.
Better Reputation With Great Sounding Car Audio In Albuquerque NM
Let’s be honest here. When it comes to our cars, we can be a little…vain. We spend money to make them look good and sometimes even to inspire envy as we race up the 163 or pull up to the valet stand at a downtown restaurant. But a good-looking car with a crappy stereo system is as disappointing as a good-looking man/woman with bad teeth. Your beautiful car deserves a beautiful sound system. Whether or not you care about sound quality when you listen to NPR during your morning commute, you’ll certainly appreciate the way a high-quality stereo system inspires envy in your brother-in-law.

● How to remove the factory stereo
● How to wire the new receiver what you need to know to connect it right
● How to install the new car stereo
Please read over these guidelines before beginning the installation so you'll know what to expect.
Installing a new car stereo can often be simple enough to do yourself, and his article will provide you with a general guide on how to do it. Keep in mind that some cars and systems are more complicated than others and that every car and stereo system will be different, so some specifics may vary. Be sure to read any instructions that come with the new car stereo before attempting to install it.
How to Take Out the Old Stereo
Car Stereo Installation Service near Albuquerque NM:
Set the parking brake and disconnect the negative cable from your car battery. Be sure to do this to avoid short-circuiting the electrical system during the installation, which could lead to fire or physical harm for you.
Unscrew any screws that are securing the trim in place. Be careful to remove all screws before trying to pry off the trim or you may break it.
Remove the trim. For some cars, you may need to remove several pieces of plastic trim, usually working from the bottom up.[3]
● If you need to remove trim that includes any knobs or drawers, remove them before trying to pry off the trim.
● Use your hands or a pry tool to pry off each piece of trim. Pry tools are specifically for this purpose and will not damage the trim pieces.
Pull out any necessary components. If you need to remove any components before being able to access the stereo, do so.
Disconnect components that are wired to the car. Take a picture of how each is wired for later reference.
Loosen the stereo. Different cars may have varying elements securing the stereo in place.
● If the stereo is held in place by screws or nuts, loosen them with the appropriate tool (screwdriver or nut driver, respectively).
● If the stereo isn't held in place by screws or nuts, you'll need to use a radio-removal key. This tool is commonly necessary in Ford vehicles. Radio-removal keys (sometimes also referred to as radio-removal tools) will typically either be in an elongated horseshoe shape or will have a circular shape at one end and a notched shaft at the other. They’re available at most auto-parts stores.
● Insert the keys into the two small slots in the face of the stereo. You will release a mechanism holding the stereo in place. Slide the radio-removal keys into each slot again until you feel the stereo loosen from in its housing. You should then be able to pull out the stereo relatively easily.
Pull the stereo out of the panel. You may want to use needle-nose pliers to grip the edge of the stereo and help you pull it out.[4] Pull it gently, and if the stereo doesn't come out easily, double check that you haven't missed any components that may be holding it in place.
Take a picture of how the stereo is wired. This is an important step because the photo will serve as a reference later when you’re wiring in the new stereo.
Unplug the stereo connections. You’ll see a series of wires connected to the back of the stereo, and you’ll need to disconnect each of them.
● First unplug the antenna wire, which will typically be a thicker wire plugged in separately from the rest. Once it’s unplugged, you should be able to move the stereo around more freely.
● Next unplug each of the wire harness connectors. There will typically be several of these and you can recognize them because a series of wires will feed into each one. The plastic piece into which the wires are fed should have either a tab or a button you can push, which will release the harness.
How to Install the New Stereo
Match up the wires. Match the wires of the car’s harnesses to the new stereo’s harnesses. Each harness connector is unique, so it should be easy to figure out which ones fit together.
● To be safe, check the wiring diagrams for both your car and the new stereo to verify you’ve connected them correctly.
● If your car's stereo doesn’t use wire harnesses, you’ll need to match up each wire manually. The wires are color-coded; however, the wires on an after-market stereo may not match with the color-coded wires in your vehicle. It's best to study and follow the wiring diagram that came with the stereo.
● Connect the matched wires. There are two options for connecting the wires, crimping or soldering. Crimping is faster and easier, but soldering will provide a more stable and secure connection. Be sure to use the proper size crimper and don’t try to bundle the wires with tape it will eventually dry out and fall off. Bundle wires using zip ties instead.
Assemble the mounting kit. If your new stereo came with a separate mounting kit, assemble it according to the stereo's instructions (it will often mean fitting a metal housing sleeve into the mounting frame).
Push down on the tabs located around the metal sleeve with a screwdriver to secure the metal sleeve in place.
Connect the power source. Typically, if you have a wiring harness, this connection will be made when you connect the new stereo harnesses to the harnesses in the car.
If you aren't using a wiring harness, you’ll need to manually connect the power. Determine whether your car has a switched power source (typically a red wire) or a constant power source (typically a yellow wire). Some vehicles even have both types of power sources. For more information on switched versus constant power, go here.
Ground the stereo. If you're using wiring harnesses, this connection will be made when you connect the harness pieces.
If you aren't using a wiring harness, you'll need to locate the bolt, wire, or screw that connects with the car's bare metal chassis. Loosen the bolt, wire, or screw and slip the stereo's ground wire (usually black) underneath, then tighten.
Note that the ground connection is important to the optimal performance of the stereo. If the ground wire doesn't connect to the bare metal, it won't work. And if the ground wire connection is loose, it could result in poor audio output. Sand down the area with sand paper to ensure a good connection.
Connect the remaining wires. Plug in the antenna cable and connect the stereo's wiring adapter to the car's wire harness. Connect the output converter if one is needed to make the new stereo compatible with the car's audio system. Have in mind that all wires should be connected in the end and there should be no single one hanging unattended.
Test the stereo. Turn the power on and test the AM, FM, and CD components. Test the fade and balance settings to be sure the speakers are working properly. Turn the power back off.
How to Finish the Installation
● Push the stereo into place. When the stereo is fully in, you should hear it click into place.
● Reconnect the components. Fasten in any screws that are needed to hold the stereo in place, reconnect any wired components, and replace any knobs or drawers that were removed.
● Snap all the pieces of trim back into place over the stereo. Double check that all screws and trim pieces are securely in place.
● Try out the new stereo. Turn the car power on again and play around with the stereo and its settings to be sure everything is in working order.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If I install a new stereo, can I still use my steering wheel controls?
You sure can if you install a special adapter. And when you buy any stereo from us, you'll get a deep discount on the steering wheel control adapter for your car. See our article about Steering Wheel Audio Control Adapters for more information.
Why should I get a new car stereo?
Sound and features are the two best reasons for getting a new car stereo. Aftermarket car stereos typically have more powerful amplifiers and better sound-shaping controls than factory stereos. And you'll find plenty of cool features, like Bluetooth® and smartphone compatibility, USB and aux inputs, touchscreen controls, navigation, satellite radio compatibility, and much more, depending on the type and model of car stereo you buy.
How do I know what'll fit my car?
Don't worry, we've done the heavy lifting! Our vehicle research team has checked out thousands of cars and trucks to find out what will (and won't) work in specific vehicles.
Can I keep my steering wheel controls?
You sure can but in most cases you'll need to install a special adapter. And when you buy any stereo from us, you'll get a deep discount on the steering wheel control adapter for your car. See our article about Steering Wheel Audio Control Adapters for more information.
Will a new stereo work with my existing factory options?
Your car may have come with factory-installed options, like satellite radio, navigation, or Bluetooth. In most cases, these are built into the existing factory stereo, or use proprietary protocols which aren't compatible with new aftermarket car stereos, so these features won't work with a new stereo. This can be a complicated issue though, so call or chat with us and we can check out your specific vehicle and features.
Can I get a stereo that will match my dash illumination?
We love it when a new car stereo really looks like it belongs in your dash, and matching the existing dash illumination scheme is a big part of that. To really hone in the color match, look for models that let you adjust the color for different parts of the receiver for example, white for the display and red for the buttons. You'll also find models that let you adjust specific RGB color levels for a perfect match. Search for stereos that feature variable colors to see your options.
Will a new car stereo work with my smartphone?
One of the most exciting things about new car stereos is the way that they integrate with your smartphone. Almost all models offer USB connection to your phone, letting you access your music files or other stored media from both iOS and Android devices. And if your new stereo has Bluetooth, you'll be able to access your music or streaming services that way too.
Will I have better bass with a new car stereo?
Great bass depends on a lot of factors, including what you define as great bass. Generally though, the increased power of a new car stereo will improve the punch of the low end in your system.
Is it hard to install a new car stereo?
Helping you install your own gear is our specialty. Table of Contents
Understanding Screen Freezing
Common Causes of Screen Freezing
Troubleshooting Screen Freezing Issues
3.1 Basic Solutions
3.2 Advanced Solutions
Preventive Measures to Avoid Future Issues
When to Seek Professional Help
Conclusion
1. Understanding Screen Freezing
Screen freezing occurs when your smartphone becomes unresponsive to touch commands. This may happen intermittently or for extended periods, leading to an inability to use apps, access settings, or even make calls. Users might experience screen flickering, app crashes, or the device becoming entirely unresponsive.
Understanding the underlying causes of screen freezing can help in effectively diagnosing and resolving the issue.
2. Common Causes of Screen Freezing
There are several reasons why a smartphone might freeze, including:
Insufficient RAM: Running multiple applications simultaneously can overload the device’s RAM, leading to slow performance and freezing.
Software Glitches: Bugs in the operating system or specific applications can cause the device to hang.
Outdated Software: Failing to update the operating system or apps can result in compatibility issues, causing apps to crash or freeze.
Insufficient Storage Space: A full storage can hinder the phone's ability to perform tasks efficiently, leading to performance issues.
Malware and Viruses: Malicious software can interfere with device performance and stability, causing freezing or crashing.
Hardware Issues: Problems with the battery, screen, or internal components can also result in freezing.
Overheating: Excessive heat can cause the phone’s processor to throttle performance, resulting in freezing.
3. Troubleshooting Screen Freezing Issues
3.1 Basic Solutions
Here are some initial steps you can take to resolve screen freezing issues:
1. Restart Your Phone
A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches that cause freezing. To restart:
For most smartphones, press and hold the power button until the restart option appears.
Tap "Restart" or "Reboot" and wait for your device to restart.
2. Close Unused Apps
Running multiple applications can lead to RAM overload. To close apps:
On Android: Tap the Recent Apps button and swipe away apps to close them.
On iOS: Double-click the Home button or swipe up from the bottom and swipe away the apps.
3. Clear Cache
Clearing cache can help improve performance. Here’s how:
Android: Go to Settings > Storage > Cached data and clear it.
iOS: Restarting the device generally clears temporary files.
4. Update Software
Keeping your phone's software updated can fix bugs and improve performance. To check for updates:
Android: Go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and check for updates.
iOS: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and check for updates.
5. Free Up Storage Space
If your phone is low on storage, it can affect performance. To free up space:
Delete unnecessary apps, photos, and files.
Move files to cloud storage or external devices.
3.2 Advanced Solutions
If basic troubleshooting doesn’t resolve the issue, consider the following advanced solutions:
6. Safe Mode Boot
Booting into Safe Mode can help identify if third-party apps are causing the freezing. In Safe Mode, only pre-installed apps run. To boot in Safe Mode:
Android: Press and hold the power button, then tap and hold the "Power Off" option until the "Reboot to Safe Mode" option appears. Tap OK.
iOS: There is no direct Safe Mode, but you can uninstall suspected problematic apps.
7. Factory Reset
If all else fails, performing a factory reset can restore your phone to its original settings. Before doing this, ensure you back up important data:
Android: Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
iOS: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.
8. Check for Malware
Use reputable antivirus software to scan for malware that may be causing freezing:
Install a trusted antivirus app from the Play Store or App Store and perform a scan.
4. Preventive Measures to Avoid Future Issues
To minimize the risk of screen freezing in the future, consider the following preventive measures:
Regularly Update Software: Ensure your operating system and applications are always updated to the latest versions.
Limit Background Apps: Be mindful of the number of apps running simultaneously, especially those that consume a lot of resources.
Monitor Storage Space: Regularly check and maintain free storage space on your device.
Use Lightweight Applications: Choose lightweight versions of apps if available, particularly for social media or gaming.
Keep Your Device Cool: Avoid exposing your device to extreme temperatures to prevent overheating.
5. When to Seek Professional Help
If you've tried all troubleshooting steps and your phone continues to freeze, it may be time to seek professional help. Consider visiting a certified technician or the manufacturer's service center if:
The device freezes frequently and becomes unresponsive.
You suspect hardware damage or issues beyond software-related problems.
You encounter persistent problems after a factory reset.
Screen freezing on smartphones can be an annoying problem, but understanding the causes and knowing how to troubleshoot can help resolve these issues effectively. By taking basic measures like restarting the device, closing unused apps, and keeping the software updated, most users can prevent or quickly resolve freezing problems.
For more persistent issues, advanced solutions such as booting in Safe Mode or performing a factory reset can often restore functionality. For more details or issues resolving you can contact Motorola service center Nagpur. Finally, staying proactive with maintenance and monitoring device performance can go a long way in ensuring a smoother smartphone experience. By following the strategies outlined in this guide, you can keep your smartphone running efficiently, minimizing the chances of encountering screen freezing issues in the future

Hank Payton | 12 Ways to Keep Your Data & Identity Safe Online
Hank Payton | How to Boost Your Digital Security for Peace of Mind
From the recent Facebook data breach to compromised customer data at huge companies like FedEx and Delta, personal security is more relevant than ever.
In fact, it might even seem that our data is under attack!
Hank Payton – While you can’t always prevent data security issues, here are 12 ways to help you protect yourself in this fast-moving digital age:
Stop sending sensitive information digitally.
This may seem like a no-brainer, but many people email tax documents to their accountant, or text a password to a family member in a pinch.
Beware of public Wi-Fi.
Anything you send in a coffee shop or airport can be intercepted by someone on the same network. Consider using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) when you’re out and about.
Secure your texts.
Whether you use a free app like WhatsApp or a paid Android or iOS solution, there are lots of end-to-end encryption options, ensuring only you and the recipient see messages.
Stay up to date.
If you don’t, you could be at risk for malware, viruses and cybercrime attacks. Make sure your operating system and software are updated – many devices do this automatically.
Worry less about wireless.
Secure your wireless network with a password so nobody can jump onto your Wi-Fi network and steal info.
Be cautious of clever email scammers.
Today’s phishing emails can have links that lead to realistic-looking websites. Never give out passwords or other sensitive info by email, text or phone unless you’re sure that you’re talking to the actual organization.
Lock down your laptop.
Make sure your laptop requires a password when it boots up. That way, if it gets stolen or prying eyes try to access your device, they’ll be stopped before they start.
Wipe out data.
If it’s time for a new laptop or smartphone, make sure your data isn’t hanging around. Once you’ve backed up any data you need, use a software program to permanently erase your hard drive.
Choose security questions wisely.
Avoid using common words in your passwords. Period. Google estimated someone would have a 19.7% success rate answering “pizza” to “What’s your favourite food? Customize questions or pick harder ones to guess.
Avoid sites that aren’t https.
Https stands for “hypertext transfer protocol with secure socket layer” (otherwise known as having a SSL certificate.) Sites without an “s” on the end are not secure if you are being asked to make a purchase or submit private/sensitive data that could get intercepted.
Pay attention to privacy settings.
Choose who can see the content you post on sites like Facebook and Instagram, and who can view your profile.
Opt for the highest level of privacy possible but be aware that some settings will prevent potential clients from seeing your posts, so find a happy balance that won’t sacrifice your social media marketing efforts!
Back up your data.
If your device gets stolen or compromised, what happens to that work report or your niece’s baby photos? Schedule automatic backups through your operating system or a cloud service.
While even the biggest and brightest companies can be hacked or otherwise attacked, these online security tips can help you reduce some of the risks.

Deviation (DBH au)
The evening is quiet and tame as Grave works on her new weapon, the slight light from the fading sun illuminating her workspace as she fiddles with her creation.
“Shit…” Pausing her work for a moment, Grave’s eyes wander down towards her hands, and the many small wounds that reside, sliced into her flesh as she had worked, too absorbed in her creation to notice them. Frowning, Grave pulls over some band-aids, carefully applying them to the small cuts littered over her hands.
As she works on applying them, a faint knocking sound comes from the front door to her house, confusion Grave as she shifts her gaze to the door. Not many people would ever come to her house, and especially not at night, making Grave apprehensive as she moves towards the door.
“Hello?” Peering through the peephole, Grave apprehensively greets whoever is behind the door, finding herself face to face with two androids.
“Hello! Are you by any chance Miss Grave?” The shorter of the two androids questions, its voice light as they both stand still, their uniforms perfectly worn as they smile.
“Uh… yeah. Why are you asking?” Grave questions, frowning in confusion as she glows softly, unsure of the situation as the taller android opens their mouth.
“Its nice to meet you. We are your personally assigned androids, designed to assist with everyday tasks around your home.” The taller android explains, a gentle smile pulling at their face as they speak.
“I… that’s nice but w h e r e did you even come from???” Feeling more and more confused as the situation progresses, Grave questions the androids on their origin, wanting answers. They were unlike any model she had seen before, the smaller’s black hair tied up neatly, tiny freckles adorning its face. The taller android had warm skin and curled hair, which had been pulled away from its face, warm freckles littering its cheeks and skin delicately, its eyes slightly different shades of blue.
“We were purchases and written into your ownership by a woman who states she is your mother.” The taller android explains, voice soft and flowy as they speak.
“Greaaat…” Grave sighs, leaning her head against the door as the sarcastic tone rolls off of her tongue. “You can come inside…” She continues, unlocking and opening the door for the androids, unable to suppress all the anger she feels out of her voice.
“Thank you for accepting us into your home. I am the prototype model SC800 but my given name is Scarlet.” The smaller android explains, their LED flickering yellow for a moment before switching back to blue as they enter Grave’s house.
“That’s… t-that’s rad, I guess.” Grave comments, sighing softly as she forces a smile, though it doesn’t touch her face, her eyes remaining dull as she speaks.
“And I am a prototype model RO800 but my name is Rose.” The taller android explains, both androids choosing not to comment on Grave’s strange display of behaviour, thinking better of it.
“Great! Um… I-I gotta go finish a thing.” Grave explains, tapping her feet nervously as she backs away from the two androids, walking quickly to her lab in an effort to get as far away from them as possible.
Watching her leave, the two androids LED’s flicker for a moment, though they let Grave go, able to sense the discomfort coming from her as they move away from the front door, further into the house.
“Hhh what the f u c k, mom?” Entering her lab, Grave leans herself against the wall as she whispers, feeling confused and panicked by the strange situation she now found herself in.
“Y’know what? This is fine! Its great and awesome and not shitty at all.” Grave tries to convince herself, though her voice falls flat. “I love this…” She continues, returning to working on her weapon as the house around her falls quiet, the androids staying silent in the other room as Grave begins to paint the weapon, settling down slightly. But it doesn’t last, Grave’s phone lighting up with a call, making her frown as she picks it up.
“Hello?” Grave questions, her voice sounding frustrated as she holds the phone to her ear.
“Did you get what I sent?” The voice of her mother floods through the phone, sounding as dull and cold as it always had.
“No.” Grave answers swiftly, hanging up the phone as she returns to working on her weapon, not wanting to deal with her mother. But the phone rings again, the noise cutting into Grave as she attempts to ignore it and continue her work. But it keeps ringing, her mother clearly not giving up, making Grave frown as she relents, answering it silently, not wanting to say anything.
“There was no fucking reason to be a brat Grave, I was asking a simple question.” Her mother scolds her, sounding pissed off as Grave rolls her eyes.
“Sorry. Yes, I did get what you sent me. Thank you.” Grave thanks her mother, but the words sound fake and forced as her mother huffs.
“Whats wrong with them? Thought you loved all that technology shit? Prototypes like them should be a must have for you.” Her mother argues, Grave trying to keep herself composed.
“Nothings wrong with them! I love them a lot!” She lies, taking a deep breath as her mother scoffs, clearly not convinced.
“Don’t bullshit me. Like them or not, they’re assigned to you now. They wont do anything you don’t tell them to.” Her mother explains, sounding harsh in her ears.
“Thanks for telling me shit I already know, byeeee!” Grave exclaims, hanging up the phone, which remains silent now as she lets out a long sigh, one of the androids knocking on her door quietly.
“You can come in…” Grave explains, placing her head down on her table as she glows in frustration.
“…I noticed you were experiencing some discomfort when talking to your parental figure, so I thought I might bring you a drink of coffee.” Scarlet explains, entering the room quietly.
“Why the hell were you even listening? Its none of your business.” Grave chastises the android, curling into herself angrily as the android flinches, its LED spinning red for a moment before returning.
“I… apologise Miss Grave. I wont intrude on your privacy in such a manner again.” Scarlet explains, keeping their voice calm as Grave sighs.
“Its fine, just go.” Grave explains, forcing another smile as she tries to keep herself calm.
A small and forced smile on their face, Scarlet sets down the coffee as they leave, closing the door behind them. Sighing, Grave looks at the coffee, taking a small sip as she resumes her work, the house falling silent around her.
Buzzing softly, Grave continues her work, almost finished as the androids move around faintly in the other rooms, finding tasks to occupy themselves with as they keep away from Grave.
“Yay…” Finishing the weapon, Grave lays her head back down on the table as she listens, the house still quiet around her as he androids keep their distance. Finding the silence weird, Grave frowns as she gets up.
“Sorry…” Grave apologises, opening the door quietly as the androids turn to look at her, Scarlet’s LED flickering yellow for a moment.
“If you’re worried you might have hurt my feelings Miss Grave, I am an android, so you needn’t worry.” Scarlet explains, smiling in a reassuring manner.
“But… that was still shitty, you were only trying to help.” Grave explains, frowning more as she glows softly. “And you can call me Grave, no need to be all formal.” She continues.
“We are designed to handle criticism to improve our standard of work, you wont offend us with how you speak.” Rose explains, stepping forward slightly. “And we will keep in mind your preferences, Grave.” They continue, smiling kindly.
“I-…thank you… I think?” Grave responds, trying to smile as she glows softly, still feeling weird around the two androids.
“I hope you don’t mind, but we both rook rudimentary scans when we first entered, and it appears you haven’t slept in quite a while…” Rose explains, a small smile on her face as she speaks.
“Whaaat? I sleep normally! I slept for twelve hours yesterday and I feel g r e a t.” Grave tries to argue, though its obvious to the androids that she isn’t telling the truth.
“Your heart rate is elevated, which tells us you are lying. You are clearly overtired and some sleep would do you good.” Rose explains, a delicate frown crossing their face.
“But I’m a genius! Geniuses don’t need sleep, only energy drinks and loud noises.” Grave argues, though it doesn’t seem to be getting through to the androids, Rose’s LED flickering as they think of a solution.
“Would you be willing to sleep if we got some more equipment for your next work piece?” They question, trying to strike a compromise.
“…Fine.” Grave relents, her voice growing soft as she looks away, huffing in frustration, not really wanting to go to sleep.
“If you have issues with sleeping, we are designed to be able to assist if needed.” Scarlet explains, tilting their head as the examine Grave.
“No, i-its fine. I can sleep very well.” Grave lies, a more genuine smile appearing on her face as she starts to walk up to her room.
“We will be down here if you change your mind.” Rose explains quietly, both of the androids frowning, though they don’t try and push the subject any further.
“Thanks…” A real smile appearing on hr face, Grave enters her room quietly, flopping onto her bed as the androids remain quiet downstairs, not wanting to disturb her.
Curling herself into a ball, Grave closes her eyes tightly, buzzing softly to fill the silence around her as the androids move quietly downstairs, idly cleaning up any messes left around them.
Hiding herself underneath the covers of her bed, Grave hopes the warmth might assist her in falling asleep, though it doesn’t seem like it as the silence of the house echoes inside her mind uncomfortably. Frowning, Grave pulls herself out of bed.
“Okay, so maybe, just m a y b e, I can’t sleep.” She admits, opening the door to her room as the two androids look up at her.
“Would you like some assistance?” Scarlet questions, smiling sweetly as she speaks, her voice soft and calm.
“Yeah, t-that sounds really nice.” Grave agrees, nodding as a small smile appears on her face, Scarlet and Rose smiling sweetly as they move upstairs to be with her.
“T-Thank you.” Grave gives her thanks, fiddling with her hands as she sits down on her bed, wiggling absentmindedly.
“How are you in terms of physical affection?” Rose questions, sitting down beside Grave gently.
“I…I have forgotten what it feels like.” Grave explains, smiling despite the seriousness of her statement. Frowning, Scarlet joins them both on the bed as Rose pulls Grave onto her lap gently.
“Please feel free to tell me if you are uncomfortable.” Rose explains, gently encasing Grave in a hug.
Gasping softly, small tears form in Grave’s eyes at the soft touch, which is new to her as Rose hugs her gently, Scarlet scooting closer as she strokes Grave’s hair in a soothing manner.
Her tears slipping down her cheeks, Grave closes her eyes as she leans into the touch, Rose gently wiping her tears from her face as the two androids snuggle closer, making Grave more comfortable.
Starting to feel sleepy, Grave curls up comfortably in Rose’s lap as she continues to hug her, Scarlet running her hands through her hair softly in a calming manner.
Feeling close to falling asleep, Grave smiles at the comforting touch, having not felt like this for years. Scarlet smiles as she strokes her hair, Rose heating her body up slightly to keep Grave enveloped in warmth.
Humming softly, Grave allows herself to drift off in Rose’s arms, feeling safe and content for the first time in a while.
Having slept through the night, the only thing to stir Grave the following day is the pale light shining through the curtains, the covers of the bed tucked comfortably around Grave as she dozes comfortably.
Curling up in the bed, Grave smiles as she realises how comfy it truly is, the room around her devoid of the androids, who had tucked her in bed once she had fallen asleep the previous night.
Yawning, Grave frowns as she examines the room, noticing the lack of androids as she snuggles in her bed, feeling comfortable. Though she doesn’t have to worry long, the door downstairs quietly shutting, indicating the arrival of aforementioned androids into the home once again.
Hiding under the covers of her bed, a small noise of happiness comes from Grave as she glows, able to hear Scarlet and Rose shuffling around downstairs as they move around.
Thinking, Grave debates with herself about whether to get up out of bed for the equipment, or whether to stay bundled up in her covers comfortably, able to hear Scarlet and Rose moving and mumbling to one another downstairs.
“Mmm…” Rolling out of her bed, Grave hits the floor gently as she falls out of the comfortable covers, the noise downstairs stopping as the androids presumably hear her, some small shifting sounds coming from her lab area.
Slowly pulling herself off of the floor, Grave moves to the door of her room, pulling it open as she descends down the stairs slowly, still feeling slightly sleepy. As she moves, she can see that the door of her lab is open, Scarlet and Rose having left her new equipment in there for her.
Bouncing excitedly, Grave moves into the lab quietly, able to see a bunch of equipment laid out on the work surfaces for her, though a small percentage of it seems to be splattered with a blue liquid.
“What the hell?” Feeling confused, Grave looks at the liquid in confusion, her voice quiet as she examines it closely, able to identify it as an androids blue blood.
Frowning, Grave feels the concern rising inside of her as she leaves the lab, moving into the living room where Scarlet and Rose sit, facing away from Grave.
“Alright, what happened?” Grave questions, sighing softly in concern as she keeps her voice as calm as possible.
“We got into a small… altercation with some humans. You needn’t worry.” Rose explains, both of them jumping slightly at Grave’s voice, though they don’t turn to face her.
“I d o need to worry, you don’t deserve that shit.” Grave argues, frowning as she glows softly, feeling worried as Scarlet huffs softly, turning to reveal a cut spanning her cheek, leaking thirium down her face.
Frowning more, Grave glows brighter as she leans forward, pressing a kiss to the damaged area of Scarlet’s face in the hopes of fixing it.
“What are you doing?” Rose questions, standing up as Scarlet winces in pain, a cut of her own slicing across her nose harshly.
“I’m just healing her, that’s all.” Grave explains, her frown lessening slightly as she taps her feet against the floor.
“We’re androids, we cant be healed like that.” Rose explains, sighing quietly. “We would have to be fixed.” She continues quietly.
“Oh… sorry.” Grave apologises, looking down at her hands as the frown on her face deepens, making her fiddle nervously with her fingers.
“You could potentially fix us if you wished to, its not much more than soldering the damage shut.” Scarlet explains, flinching slightly as the pain continues to radiate out from her wound.
“True…” Standing up, Grave walks quickly into her lab, Scarlet and Rose following her quietly, sitting down to allow her easy access to the damaged areas of their faces.
“Hey, um… can I ask you something?” Grave requests, looking to Scarlet as her soldering iron begins to heat up.
“Of course.” Scarlet responds quickly, her gaze flicking upwards to lock with Grave’s as she speaks.
“Why do you feel pain? A-And what happened?” Grave questions softly, buzzing as Rose sighs.
“We ran into an anti android protest on our way back. They didn’t like us very much so they pushed us around a little.” Rose explains, answering half of the question for Grave.
“One of our prototype functions is to imitate human behaviour, like sleeping and pain. Rose was able to turn hers off but… mines glitched.” Scarlet explains, a gentle frown creasing her features.
“Shit… I-I’m sorry.” Grave apologises, feeling concerned for Scarlet as anger at the ones who did this rises inside her.
“Its not a problem. I would only have to return to Cyberlife and be reset.” Scarlet explains, a false smile appearing on her face.
“Wouldn’t you lose your memory though?” Grave questions, beginning to close up the damaged area of Scarlet’s face with the soldering iron as she taps her feet quietly.
“I suppose, but I haven’t exactly been providing the best support anyway. Perhaps you would benefit from a new version of me.” Scarlet explains, wincing slightly as she soldering iron touches her face.
“I like this you… a-any version of you is nice!” Grave explains, her voice growing softer as a gentle blue tones blush appears on Scarlet’s face.
“Well thank you, that admittedly wasn’t what I was expecting.” She explains, smiling genuinely.
“You’re welcome, Scarlet!” Grave exclaims, smiling as she finishes sealing up the damage on her face, watching Scarlet grin as she gently touches the fixed area, which now looks like a scar.
“It time!” Wiggling, Grave moves over to Rose, watching her smile as she shifts, allowing Grave access to her face.
“Sorry for causing trouble.” Rose apologises quietly, though Grave stops her immediately.
“Don’t be sorry, you did nothing wrong!” Grave explains, glowing softly as she begins to close up the damage on Rose’s face.
“We can’t fight against humans so our only choice was to let them hit us.” Rose continues, shrugging her shoulder nonchalantly.
“Why not?” Graver questions curiously, buzzing softly as she feels more and more worried for the androids before her.
“We’re androids, it’s a violation of our programming. We could get deactivated permanently.” Rose explains, smiling softly.
“That’s fucking bullshit. You should be able to fight if anybody puts their hands on you.” Grave argues, her forehead creasing as he frown deepens more.
“That would be a thought. But we aren’t alive, so we don’t count.” Giggling, Rose continues the conversation, explaining the rules to Grave expertly.
“But…” Her voice trailing off, Grave mumbles something under her breath as she finishes fixing the damage on Rose’s face, looking down at her hands as she pulls the soldering iron away.
“I’m sorry, we didn’t quite get that last part.” Scarlet admits, tilting her head in a curious manner as she watches Grave.
“You are alive, but everyone says you’re not.” Grave explains, her voice quiet as she explains.
“You really think that?” Rose questions quietly, both of them looking at Grave in muted surprise.
“Of course I do!” Grave exclaims, smiling gently as Scarlet and Rose’s faces soften into a happy expression, their LED’s a comfortable and happy blue.
“Um… do you want me to make something for you? As a thanks for getting me stuff.” Grave offers softly, blushing.
“Well, we’ve never really owned anything before…” Scarlet explains, a soft blue tinted blush covering hers and Rose’s face as she speaks.
“Well that sucks ass…” Grave comments, frowning. “I can change that though!” She exclaims, smiling as she begins to set up her equipment.
“That sounds nice.” Laughing, Rose smiles sweetly as they both watch Grave set up curiously.
“What kinds of things do you like?” Grave questions, glowing softly as she tries to think of ideas.
“We aren’t sure, we’ve never been asked that question before.” Scarlet explains, shrugging as they try to come up with something.
“Right, um…” Grave thinks quickly, coming up with a potential solution. “Okay, what if I showed you some things and you tell me what you like the most?” She offers, Scarlet and Rose nodding as they think it over.
Squeaking, Grave starts to grab some things she has made as Scarlet and Rose watch her, feeling curious as they follow her with their eyes.
“It’s a o r b, but cooler.” Grave explains, putting her equipment down as she grabs one of her creations.
“That’s very cool.” Rose comments, smiling brightly. “It sort of reminds me of space.” She continues.
“Space?” Grave questions putting down the orb as she glows softly, watching Rose nod in response.
“Mhm, there’s a lot of fascinating information about space that I’ve found quite interesting.” She explains, smiling.
“Fuck yeah! That’s one thing, do you like anything else?” Grave questions, smiling bright as she bounces.
“I suppose I was interested by some of the light displays we saw while collecting your equipment.” Rose explains, thinking.
“Oh! Can you show them to me please?” Grave questions, tapping her fingers on the table in front of her excitedly as Rose blushes, pulling up some images of pretty twinkling lights that had caught her eye.
“Woah…” Glowing softly, Grave looks at the images Rose holds in her hands. “I’m gonna make the thing!!!” She exclaims, giggling softly.
“O-Okay.” Rose agrees, her face flushing a deeper shade of blue as she watches Grave move.
“What about y o u. what do you like, hm?” Grave questions, turning to face Scarlet as she tries to make her voice sound fancy, finding it funny as Scarlet blushes, looking at the floor.
“She was looking at a lot of clothing while we were out. Seemed to take a liking to the fluffier things.” Rose explains, answering for Scarlet.
“Okay, I have like n o idea how to make clothes, b u t I will buy you some!” Grave explains, smiling as she thinks it through, watching Scarlet’s face light up in a blush as she smiles.
“I’m gonna go buy them now! Do you wanna come with me or nah?” Grave offers, wiggling excitedly.
“Would you like us to come with you?” Scarlet questions, her voice quiet as she watches Grave.
“Of course I do!” Grave exclaims, nodding as a small blush works its way across her face.
“Then I’m happy to come with you.” Scarlet answers, smiling sweetly as she speaks.
“Fuck yeah!” Squeaking, Grave opens the door to her lab to let them all out. “C’mon, we’re gonna buy stuff and fuck shit up!” She exclaims, Scarlet giggling as her and Rose follow closely behind her.
“Here you go!” Grave exclaims, handing them both jackets as she smiles, Rose seeming confused.
“You want us to wear jackets?” She questions, watching Grave nod in response as she glows softly.
“Yeah, its kinda cold so you’re gonna need them.” Grave explains, Scarlet obediently putting hers on as Rose follows suit, both of them blushing softly.
“You ready?” Grave questions, smiling in excitement as Rose and Scarlet nod, Scarlet looking exceedingly ready as she bounces on the spot happily. Moving outside her house, Grave clips through the door of her car.
“Oh wait…” Realising, she unlocks the car for Scarlet and Rose, able to hear them giggle as they get inside to be with her.
“Do you wanna listen to some music?” Grave offers, pulling her car out as she starts to drive.
“It could be interesting to hear some music!” Scarlet admits, smiling as she and Rose buckle themselves in.
“Ya like j a z z?” Grave jokes, turning on some soft jazz as she drives, giggling at her own joke as Rose snorts, listening to the music happily.
Humming softly, Grave taps her fingers against the wheel as she drives, her thoughts running rampant in her mind as Scarlet watches the world fly by outside the window, curious at all the little details.
Speeding up slightly, Grave feels her excitement increase as they get closer, glowing as Rose smiles at her, enjoying the music.
Wiggling, Grave gets more excited as they get closer, Rose giggling as Scarlet bounces in her seat happily.
“We here!!!” Grave exclaims, smiling as she parks the car in a space happily as the mall appears ahead of the,
“This looks nice!” Rose comments, smiling as Scarlet calms down, her bouncing ceasing.
“It does! Kinda fancy looking too!” Grave exclaims, exiting her car as Rose and Scarlet follow behind her, composing themselves as they prepare to go inside, not wanting to tip people off.
“There’s s t u f f.” Grave explains, smiling as she walks into the store, Scarlet following her excitedly as she and Rose walk in with her.
Holding onto Scarlet’s hand gently, Grave begins to look around as Scarlet blushes, trying to compose herself as they wander around the shop together, Rose walking beside them happily.
“Do you like cats?” Grave questions, spying a sweater with cats covering it as she looks back to Scarlet.
“I think they’re very cute creatures.” Scarlet explains, smiling brightly as she answers Grave’s question.
“Good!!” Picking up the cat sweater, Grave continues to look around as Scarlet smiles, Rose gently patting her head as they follow Grave.
“Do you think soft knives are a real thing?” Grave questions, smiling as she glows, wandering around the store.
“I’m not certain of that.” Rose admits, giggling softly as she shrugs, following Grave absentmindedly.
“I could probably make one. Someone pulls a knife on you and you think ‘Oh no, I’m gonna die!’ but instead its softness on a stick.” Grave explains her idea, giggling more.
“That’s a cool idea!” Scarlet exclaims quietly, a small laugh escaping her as she wanders around.
“Y’know what? I a m gonna make it. You can gently stab people now!” Grave exclaims, loving her new idea.
“I think that will be very interesting to watch.” Rose comments, smiling brightly as she focuses her gaze onto Grave.
“It’s a good prop to use for a play or something! Or maybe just to confuse people when you cut stuff.” Grave continues.
“I think both works well.” Rose comments, smiling as Scarlet looks around the shop curiously, taking everything in.
“Y e s.” Feeling excited, Grave notices a hoodie with a creeper on it, making Scarlet giggle as she watches her.
“I might just buy all the hoodies in the store for you, I dunno yet.” Grave explains, blushing softly as she picks up a couple of hoodies for Scarlet.
“I don’t want you to waste too much on me!” Scarlet exclaims, blushing as Rose giggles, finding them both cute.
“Its not wasting and I w a n t to but I c a n ‘ t.” Grave explains, her heart thrumming happily in her chest as Scarlet blushes bright blue, hiding her face in Rose.
“Sorry…” Grave giggles, apologising, though she doesn’t feel sorry as Scarlet whines indignantly, making Rose laugh as she hides in her gently.
“Okay maybe I’m not… but s t i l l, you deserve a whole lot of nice things!” Grave argues softly, Rose nodding her agreement.
“You don’t think it’ll look weird buying clothes for an android?” Scarlet questions nervously, letting go of Rose as she reveals herself again.
“Nope, it seems pretty normal to me!” Grave exclaims, thinking as she shakes her head.
“Okay…” Feeling reassured, Scarlet smiles sweetly as she calms down, the blue colour of her face dying down slightly.
“Having different clothes is frickin n o i c e, you don’t have to wear the same uniform everyday because you have h o o d i e s!” Grave explains, bouncing happily on the floor.
“It will do good for us I believe.” Rose agrees, smiling as she gently pats Scarlet’s head reassuringly.
“You also need pants with a million pockets on them. Cuz what else would you hold soft knives in?” Grave questions, joking as Scarlet giggles, both of them following her around the store.
“There are s o many fake pockets here, oh my god.” Grave complains as they reach the pants section.
“It seems to be a popular design choice.” Rose comments, both of them giggling at Grave’s exaggerated rage.
“But w h y? Its useless and shitty and nobody even likes it.” Grave argues, flipping off a pair of the pocket less pants.
“I would assume since most of the designers for these brands are male and ignore the words of the feminine consumers.” Scarlet explains, frowning.
“That’s true… makes it suck even more though.” Grave sighs, a small frown creasing her facial features.
“Yeah it does.” Rose agrees, patting Grave’s shoulder gently in a calming manner a she smiles.
“…I could learn how to make pockets.” Grave poses her idea, smiling brightly. “I could make pants that are j u s t pockets.” She continues.
“That would be an interesting sight.” Rose agrees, giggling softly at Grave’s excited expression.
“And an awesome one, too. You can cover your body comfortably and hold a bunch of stuff.” Grave explains, picking up some sweatpants with four pockets happily.
“That would look so funny!” Scarlet giggles quietly, keeping an eye on their surroundings as she follows Grave.
“What if one pocket had like… ten tiny robo dogs in it? Just some tiny dog bois to make your day good.” Grave explains, smiling happily as she taps her feet against the floor.
“So cute!” Scarlet exclaims happily, Squeaking as Rose laughs at the cuteness in front of her as Grave mumbles something under her breath, far too quiet for either of them to hear.
“Anything else you wanna get?” Scarlet questions, negating to ask what Grave had said, sure it would only make her blush more as she smiles.
“Hmm… nah, I don’t think so.” Grave explains, thinking it through as she smiles sweetly, Scarlet returning it as they move so Grave can get to the checkout area.
“Its t i m e.” Grave comments, moving to the checkout as Scarlet and Rose stay behind her, smiling happily and with a slight excited feeling.
Paying for the clothes, Grave taps happily, feeling excited as Scarlet and Rose stand by her, both of them smiling brightly themselves.
“You o w n these now.” Grave comments, picking up the clothes once they’ve been bagged up, moving towards the door of the store.
“I don’t know how to thank you.” Scarlet explains, smiling brightly as they both follow Grave quietly.
“You don’t have to!” Grave exclaims, blushing softly as she smiles, happy thoughts filling her head as she walks, Scarlet blushing as she leans into Grave, walking with her happily.
“By the way, you can keep my jacket if you want. I have a bunch of hoodies so I don’t really need it.” Grave explains, holding her hand gently as Rose and her blush softly.
“Thank you, that’s super nice of you!” Scarlet exclaims, smiling softly as they all walk together.
“You’re welcome!” Grave reassures her, giggling as she unlocks the car, Scarlet pausing in her stride slightly as she follows her.
“What’s wrong?” Feeling confused, Grave looks back to Scarlet as she stands, face morphing to look concerned as someone approaches the group.
“Get in the car. Now.” Grave instructs Rose and Scarlet, frowning as she glows. Nodding, Scarlet and Rose begin to obey, moving out of Grave’s way.
Sighing, Grave walks out to meet the other human, getting ready to fight what she could now see was a woman.
“You shouldn’t be bringing your androids to a place like this, its completely inappropriate!” The woman exclaims, her expression angry as she approaches Grave.
“How the fuck is it not appropriate, bitch? They weren’t doing anything wrong.” Grave argues, growing angry quickly.
“They’re androids, and you’re parading them around like humans! They’re pieces of machinery!” The woman counters, scoffing haughtily.
“Dude, I can do whatever the fuck I want. Don’t tell me what to do.” Grave argues with her, glowing.
“Oh can you? I’m sure if I called the police and told them what you were doing they’d have something to say about it.” The woman sneers out harshly.
“Oh, I’m sure you’ll be calling the police for a different reason.” Grave argues, rolling her eyes a she lands a solid punch to the woman’s face, both Rose and Scarlet disobeying her order to run forward to her as the woman screeches in pain. Covering her mouth, Grave tries not to laugh at the sight in front of her.
“What the fuck are you doing? Get in the car and go home or else you’ll get hurt!” Grave encourages Rose and Scarlet, feeling worried as they stand beside her.
“Though we heard the order, we can’t obey it and let you get into trouble.” Scarlet explains, frowning as her and Rose actively disobey the command, breaking through their programming to do so.
“I’ll be fine, just get in the fucking car!” Grave exclaims, sounding angry as her worry for them both grows, wanting to keep them safe.
“I cannot obey! I’m not going to watch this!” Scarlet argues, moving in front of Grave to guard her as the woman begins to stand up.
“Fine!” Groaning, Grave gives up on arguing, though she still attempts to get past Scarlet to the woman, glowing angrily.
“And your androids are fucking deviants too.” The woman spits in disgust as Rose moves to hold Grave back, not wanting to make more of a scene between them all.
“A n d? they’re better than you, bitch!” Grave exclaims, flipping the woman off as Rose holds her back, preventing her from hitting her again.
“Ma’am, could we please deescalate this situation? There’s no need for this to become worse than it is.” Scarlet tries to reason with the woman, shuffling back slightly as she continues to block Grave.
Trying to calm down, Grave resists the urge to lunge at the woman as she gets into Scarlet’s face.
“I’m not negotiating with a disgusting deviant.” The woman insults, landing her own solid hit into Scarlet’s stomach.
All of the reserved calmness she had flying out of the window, Grave stalks forward as she draws her knife out of her pocket, slashing into the woman as Rose runs towards Scarlet, the woman falling down in agony, bleeding out quickly.
Despite feeling worried for Scarlet, Grave continues her rampage as Rose helps Scarlet sit down, holding onto her gently.
Pulling out the knife, Grave rushes over to Rose and Scarlet, making a noise of concern as she fails to form words, Rose holding Scarlet up as she flinches clearly in extreme pain.
“A-Are you okay with being carried right now?” Grave questions, trying to calm herself down as she thinks the situation through, Scarlet trembling slightly as she nods.
Picking Scarlet up gently, Grave moves her into the car carefully, getting in herself as she motions for Rose to join them. Getting in the car. Rose holds Scarlet gently as she shakes, not wanting to risk her getting hurt more.
Starting the car, Grave drives away as quick as she wan, not wanting to hurt Scarlet more as Rose lets her lean into her, the pain starting to make her mind feel fuzzy and weak.
Picking up the pace slightly, Grave glows as she panics slightly, trying to keep the speed reasonable as Rose pulls Scarlet into her lap, able to see her going slightly limp.
Stopping the car as they reach her house, Grave opens the door for Rose as she pulls Scarlet into a carry, trying to stop her glowing as she notices Scarlet’s seemingly unconscious state.
“This is f u n, isn’t it?” Grave jokes, the sarcasm dripping off of her voice as she opens the front door.
“Hey, its okay.” Rose tries to reassure her, entering the house as she carries Scarlet gently.
“It is?” Grave questions, frowning in confusion as she locks the door behind them, Rose nodding despite looking worried.
“Despite feeling pain Scarlet is an android, so it means something is probably damaged, which is fixable.” She explains, keeping her voice calm.
“True… come on.” Grave motions for Rose to follow her, walking into her lab to get equipment to help Scarlet as Rose lays her down on the table gently.
Beginning to fix the damaged area on Scarlet’s stomach, Grave hums as Rose sits down, watching her silently as she works.
Glowing, Grave focuses intently as she works, not wanting to risk messing this up as Rose sits watching her, tapping her foot nervously.
“Everything’s gonna be okay, I promise.” Grave reassures Rose, trying to keep her voice soft and calm in an effort to relax her. Still looking slightly worried, Rose manages to crack a smile as she watches Grave work.
Thinking it through, Grave offers Rose her hand to hold for comfort, Rose reaching out, squeezing it gently in response.
“I’m almost done…” Grave explains, squeaking softly as Rose manages to smile, calming down as Grave finishes the final repairs to the damage that had been done.
“I’m done!!!” Smiling happily, Grave glows softly as she taps her feet against the floor.
Smiling as she relaxes, Rose watches Grave open her arms, inviting her in for a hug. Accepting quickly, Rose squeezes Grave in a gentle and calm hug.
“This feels nice…” Grave admits, squeezing Rose back gently as she smiles, the physical contact soothing to her.
“It’ll be nicer when Scarlet wakes up.” Rose expresses, smiling as a soft blue blush dusts over her warm skin.
“Fuck yeah! Then we can all hug and talk about stupid stuff!” Grave exclaims excitedly, poking Rose’s nose gently as she giggles.
Smiling softly, Rose presses their foreheads together gently as Grave gasps, blushing as she closes her eyes happily.
“I’m going to go and fetch some thirium for Scarlet since its likely she lost some and will need to replenish when she gets up.” Rose explains, smiling softly as she lets go of Grave.
“Got it! Want me to stay here or nope?” She questions, opening her eyes to analyse Rose’s expression as she asks.
“I would stay. Its likely Scarlet will come to soon.” Rose explains, a gentle smile tugging at the edges of her mouth.
“Good idea.” Grave expresses, sitting down beside Scarlet as she lays on the table, wiggling as Rose leaves the room.
Shifting slightly on the table, Scarlet draws Grave’s attention to her as she starts to come around, her feet tapping happily as she watches her stir more, her eyes opening halfway.
Waving to her, Grave smiles softly, keeping herself quiet as Scarlet comes around more, trying to sit up on the table.
Helping her sit up, Grave tries to stop herself from tapping her feet as Scarlet leans on her gently, waking up more as she sits.
“Hey, sleepyhead.” Grave greets her gently, pulling Scarlet in for a gentle hug as she smiles.
“…What happened?” Scarlet questions softly, humming tiredly as she leans into Grave lightly.
“You kinda got hurt by a bitch who was angry because I brought y’all to the store with me… and also I stabbed her.” Grave explains, her voice calm.
“You did?” Scarlet questions, frowning softly as she listens to Grave, leaning into her gently.
“Yeah… sorry.” Grave apologises, though she doesn’t feel sorry for her actions at all.
“I get it.” Scarlet explains, shifting to lean into Grave more as she turns, resting her head on her shoulder.
“You do?” Feeling confused, Grave questions Scarlet as she strokes her hair softly to calm her down more.
“Mhm… that really hurt.” Scarlet explains, nodding as she speaks, still sounding slightly sluggish.
“Sorry that happened… but at least she can’t hurt you anymore.” Grave explains, smiling as she touches their foreheads together in a comforting manner.
“Wasn’t your fault…” Scarlet reassures her, closing her eyes as she speaks, voice soft and quiet.
“I know… but still.” Grave explains, humming a soft melody as she pokes Scarlet’s nose gently, hearing her hum quietly in response, opening her eyes slightly.
“Your eyes are really pretty…” Grave mumbles softly, blushing as she looks at Scarlet, watching her flush bright blue as she hides her face from view.
“Nooo! I wanna see your face!” Grave whines, a soft frown on her face as Scarlet hides from her.
“I’m flustered…” Scarlet admits, burrowing further out of view ass she begins to feel embarrassed.
“But I wanna see you…”Grave urges, fake sad noises coming from her as Scarlet whines indignantly.
“Pleaaaaaaaase?” Grave questions, pouting as Scarlet whines more, peeking out from her hiding place.
“Yay!!!” Grave exclaims, smiling brightly as Scarlet blushes, feeling flustered still.
“You’re so fricking c u t e!!!” Grave exclaims, wiggling as Scarlet squeaks, her face a deep shade of blue. “Sorry…” Grave apologises, smiling as she lies gently.
Whining, Scarlet pouts indignantly, knowing Grave is lying as she tries to hold back her smile.
“What? I a m sorry.” Grave insists, biting her tongue as she smiles, Scarlet leaning into her as she pouts.
“Mmmfine. I’m not sorry… kind of.” Grave admits, looking away from Scarlet’s pouting face as she huffs quietly, a small frown shifting her features.
“I cannot s e e the frown, it is not h e r e.” Grave argues closing her eyes as Scarlet whines, covering her face gently as she starts to feel a little sickly.
“Rose is gonna be back soon…” Grave reassures her, squeezing Scarlet gently as she nods, able to hear Rose’s footsteps approaching the room.
“Hi!!! You’re h e r e!” Grave exclaims, watching Rose walk into the room with a pouch of blue blood.
“I’m here!” Rose agrees, smiling as she see’s Scarlet up and awake, being held gently by Grave.
“Aaa!!!” Opening her arms in a request for a hug, Grave screams quietly as Rose smiles, engulfing them both in a gentle hug.
“You’re comfy…” Grave comments quietly, hugging Rose back as she glows softly, feeling happy.
“Thank you… shall we let Scarlet have her blood?” Rose questions, smiling gently as she hugs them both.
“Y e e. She must… s n o r t the blood.” Grave jokes, Rose giggling as she helps Scarlet sit up on her own, handing her the thirium to drink.
Wiggling happily, Grave glows as Scarlet takes the pack of thirium, sipping on it through a straw as she begins to calm down.
“You good?” Grave questions, smiling softly as she taps her feet, her voice soft as Scarlet leans into her, nodding in response.
“I’m glad you’re okay…” Grave smiles, hugging Scarlet gently as she returns the smile, drinking the last thirium out of the pack carefully.
“Today was f u n, wasn’t it?” Grave questions, sounding sarcastic as Scarlet giggles, Rose throwing away the thirium pouch for her, Scarlet feeling too tired to do so herself.
Thinking about it, Grave presses a gentle kiss to Scarlet’s forehead as she blushes bright blue, giggling softly.
“I don’t exist!” Grave exclaims, kissing her more before hiding away from view quickly.
“Noooo.” Scarlet whines, leaning into Grave gently as she complains, feeling sad as she loses sight of her.
“Yes! I am gone and there is nothing you can do about it!!!” Grave exclaims, Scarlet pouting as she leans onto her gently, feeling tired.
“No pouting, its m e a n.” Grave argues, hiding more as she smiles, Scarlet pouting more as she leans on her.
“…Fine!” Coming out from hiding, Grave pokes Scarlet’s nose gently as she smiles, pulling Grave into a soft hug, feeling sleepy. Glowing softly, Grave hugs her back, her touch gentle and calming.
Humming quietly, Scarlet feels sleepier as Grave closes her own eyes, growing tired as Scarlet follows suit, close to drifting off.
Pressing a soft kiss to Scarlet’s lips, Grave allows herself to drift off to sleep as Scarlet follows closely behind, relaxing into Grave as Rose watches over them.

Just hanging out
Again, this post by the amazing @conn-tinuity inspired me to write something. It sounded better in my head though XD Enjoy nonetheless! (the post itself is funnier, check it out!)
Fandom: Detroit become human
Gavin’s breath was coming fast and rugged as he sprinted after the man in front of him. The asshole was fucking fast and the Detective had problems following although he spent the better part of his afternoons exercising. Hell, the idiot was probably an android, he wouldn’t know it nowadays. Although the troubled breathing the wind pushed over told him something else entirely.
In the end he didn’t need the additional motivation of catching a damn android, because the idiot ran straight down into a dead end. Well, not really a dead end, but Gavin now chased him down the bridge to Belle Isle, the only bridge connecting it with the city. The culprit seemed to have realised his mistake, because he looked around for a way out and was getting slower. Gavin, sure to finally have caught the asshole, tried to run even faster, before he would have to cross the street full of passing cars. At the last minute, as Gavin had thought to have the man pinned down, he realised he had been fooled. The culprit had only waited for him to feel safe, used his momentum to swing him around against the railing of the bridge and shoving him up. Physics did the rest to let him practically fly over the railing and down towards the river. Everything was forgotten in the sudden shock that he was now falling to his death and hell, this was not how he wanted to go. Especially not now.
Suddenly there was an immense pain at his shoulders and the small of his back as he was jerked upwards at his leather jacket. Too shocked to think, he just stared down into the rushing water beneath him as he dangled freely. Only then he looked up, seeing his jacket had been caught in a beam of the bridge. ‘Phck!’, he screamed, immediately looking down again and trying to stay as rigid as possible. One wrong move and he would fall. ‘Phcking phck, goddamnit!’ He felt the wind catching in his back and prayed to whatever god was listening that he would stay dangling from this damn beam. ‘Help! Hey, one of you phck-asses has to have seen this shit, help me!’ But either the cars from the street were too loud or nobody was particularly interested in his screaming.
Gavin was hanging there long enough to weirdly accommodate to the situation. He didn’t seem to fall anytime soon, and his screams hadn’t caught the attention of anyone. Phck, he didn’t want to die here, but the adrenaline had subsided and as he didn’t seem to find a solution to his problem without risking to fall, there was nothing else for him to do anyways. He could only wait and hope someone found him. Suddenly “Never gonna give you up” started blasting near his ear. Oh phck. For a detective he really wasn’t that bright when his phone had been in his pocket all the time. Carefully he fuddled for it and managed to get whoever was on the other end on speaker with shaking hands.
‘Hi, yeah, it’s kinda shitty at the moment but I need-‘ ‘Gavin. Finally, I tried to reach you and you weren’t at home. Where the hell are you? The last time you called in you were responding to an armed robbery an hour ago! You can’t be telling me you’re still on that!’ ‘Well, Nines, I’m just hanging out a bit, y’know?’, Gavin told him sarcastically, what seemed to get lost over the phone line. ‘Get your damn ass over here, we have work to do!’ ‘Nines, I’m literally hanging from the MacArthur Bridge! The bastard pushed me over!’ There was silence. ‘I have been for about half an hour now, according to you. Used the spare time to think about my life choices. You know, it’s at times like this when I wonder myself… did I leave the front door unlocked?’
‘I am on my way to you as fast as I can’, Nines reported and after a short pause: ‘Gavin, please be serious.’ Relieved beyond measure that finally help was on its way, Gavin answered him close to tears: ‘No.’
#detroit become human#dbh#Gavin Reed#RK900#not a prompt fill#Not so proud of this one but eh I promised to write something#Gave me an idea for another story though#Also damn detroit really didn't want me to write this#no cliffs and the damn bridge is 9m high#like I jumped that height for fun into water#Ah but let's forget reality for a moment okay?

Are You Satisfied With Your Care?
AO3 | FF.Net

Out of options, his sister Erza decides to hire a new type of caretaker, an android by the name of Dragion.Despite Gray's initial rejection, an unlikely friendship develops between them. But when Dragion malfunctions and his creator comes to fix him, Gray finds he might just be in over his head.
Disclaimer: All Fairy Tail Characters Belong to Hiro Mashima
Chapter 1
“Erza,” Mira made no attempt to mask her frustration as she put her coffee cup down on the table, “You know I love Gray like a brother, and I understand that you’re worried about him but it’s been months!”
“When are you coming home?” Mirajane asked with a bluntness that Erza knew meant she was getting to the end of her patience.
“I--I don’t know,” Erza admitted, wishing she had a better answer, ”He’s not doing well, physically or emotionally. I can’t just leave him there all alone.”
“He’s not all alone, he’s got Loke and the rest of the staff to take care of him,” Mira pointed out, “You can still visit him and live with us, it might even do him some good not to depend on you for everything.”
“It’s not like that!” Erza protested, “He wants to do more, I’m just scared --”
“You’re scared you might lose him like you did your parents,” Mira finished her sentence for her, “I know you are, sweetheart, but I miss my wife and we both know we can’t move in there with you.”
“You could, maybe,” Erza said shyly, she’d been thinking of broaching the subject during one of their breakfast dates, “I miss you too.”
“We can’t,” Mira said firmly, “Lisanna and Elfman wouldn’t be able to handle all the restrictions and it would only cause us to fight. You know how we both are about our siblings.”
Erza tried to mask her disappointment but knew she’d failed when Mira sighed and wrapped her up in an embrace, kissing the top of her head.
“This is not an ultimatum,” Mira assured her, “I just need there to be a timeline. How is the nurse working out?”
“Which one?” Erza asked with an exasperation that made Mira giggle.
“What’s he done now?”
“I don’t know, it never happens when I’m there,” Erza admitted, “We’ve had over thirty of them quit. A week has been the longest any of them has lasted and I think she really needed the money. The one I left him with this morning has been working out so far, today is her third day.” Erza held up crossed fingers and Mira rolled her eyes in amusement.
“How are you holding up?” Mira asked as she began to eat her breakfast, it was nearing the time when she would have to leave to get to work on time.
“I’m fine, I just wish I could get through to him, you know?” Erza looked down at her mug not wanting her wife to see the tears she was fighting, “He’s just so angry all the time, but when I look at him all I can see is the sweet little boy he used to be.”
“He’s gone through a lot,” Mira reminded her, “We just have to have faith that he’ll find his way back.”
“So have you, you know,” Mira placed her index finger under Erza’s chin and gently pushed until Erza was at eye-level with her.
”You’re an amazing woman, the way you’ve held yourself together and taken care of everyone else. Let me spoil you,” Mira moved her face closer and kissed Erza, smiling as she tasted the combination of both their coffees on her tongue, Erza’s sweetness to the bitterness of the brew she preferred. She grinned at the flustered expression on Erza’s face. Even after all these years, she was not used to being affectionate in public.
“I love you, Erza,” Mira said sweetly, kissing her wife on her forehead, “How about next time we plan for a weekend away?”
“I’d like that.”
Too soon it was time to leave and Erza hugged her wife tightly. She wasn’t ready to let her go but she knew Mira had to get to work so she sneaked a kiss before waving goodbye. She watched Mira get into her car and leave before finding her own car and heading back to the house.
She drove, only half listening to the music playing on the radio and trying to think of a solution to her problem. She opened the gates to their large house from the remote in her car and drove up the long driveway. She had to slam on the brakes as the nurse she had left with her brother came running out of the house.
Erza left her car where it was and hurried out, concerned that something had happened to her brother. She rushed towards the nurse trying her best not to panic.
“What’s wrong, what’s happened?” Erza asked the woman whom she now realized had not been heading towards her at all but towards her own vehicle.
The woman stopped briefly and Erza could see that something was most definitely wrong. The woman looked angry and Erza already knew the words she would hear next.
‘I’m sorry Mrs. Strauss, but I quit!” The nurse, whose name Erza couldn’t for the life of her remember, informed her, “I can’t stay another minute, that man is impossible!”
She got into her car and slammed the door not giving Erza any time to respond, driving away at a speed that was probably not safe for someone her age. Erza sighed as she got back into her car and parked it in their garage.
o-o
Gray heard his sister return from her breakfast date with Mira and was surprised when she didn’t come talk to him about the nurse quitting. It hadn’t been his fault really, how was he supposed to know she was so sensitive?
He felt a bit guilty knowing he’d probably ruined whatever enjoyment Erza might have gotten from seeing Mira. He really couldn’t understand why she stuck around instead of going back home. He didn’t need nurses or any of the other personnel she kept bringing in. How was he supposed to show her he was fine on his own if she refused to trust him with his own care?
Part of him did want her there, well aware that if she left he would really be all alone. His friends had tried to come to visit him in the beginning, but after one of them had come in with a cold and gotten him sick, Erza had flipped out on them and now he was lucky if he got a text asking how he was. If he was honest with himself though, most of them had already stopped coming well before that. Not that he’d had many friends to begin with. If Lyon hadn’t forced him to go out on occasion Gray would’ve gladly stayed in his room studying or watching old hockey reels.
He hobbled towards the study, wanting to get the yelling over with but instead the words he heard through the door made him smile.
“Well can’t you send a male nurse then?” Erza asked whoever she was talking to on the other line. “What do you mean they all refuse to come out? I know he can be a bit difficult but don’t you think they’re overreacting?”
“I see,” Gray heard her say curtly before hanging up the phone. The door of the study had been left ajar and he peeked in to see Erza sitting behind the desk, her head resting in her hands. He hurried away as quickly as he was able and moved to the Conservatory, sitting down behind the large piano that sat in a corner of the large room and beginning to play with the notes, trying to imitate the song he’d been listening to on the radio.
O-o
Dammit! What was she supposed to do now? That had been the last home care agency that had been willing to work with them and she’d had to throw plenty of money at them to keep them sending personnel out. She was about to call Gray’s transplant team to see how much care he still needed when she noticed a magazine that hadn’t been on her desk the previous day. She picked it up trying to figure out why it was there.
On the cover, there was a picture of a very humanoid looking android pushing an older woman in a wheelchair. The headline read Caretakers of the Future Intrigued, Erza opened the magazine to the article and began to read.
The more she read the more excited she became, it sounded exactly like what they needed. Someone who could ignore Gray’s abrasive personality and attempts at isolating himself and still manage all the healthcare tasks that Gray needed taking care of. The only problem was that it was still in the experimental stages and she would need a recommendation to even get Gray’s case considered.
She thought about who could help her get in with the company.
“I see you found the magazine I left you,” Loke, their butler, came in with a smile on his face.
Erza nodded absently, still going through a mental checklist of everyone she knew.
“What’s the matter?” Loke asked confused by her muted reaction, “I thought you’d be all over this. Especially after what happened today.”
“What did happen today?”
“Well you know Gray, he’d stripped naked as he walked around the house and the nurse kept yelling at him to put his clothes back on so he--”
“On second thought, I’m better off not knowing,” Erza stopped him, imagining several inappropriate scenarios Gray could have concocted to get rid of the elderly nurse, all of them bad. “The program sounds fantastic but it’s still experimental, we need an in with the company to even be considered for it.”
“Didn’t you see the note I left you?” Loke frowned at her.
Erza looked around for a note and found a small piece of paper on the floor that must have fallen out when she picked up the magazine. It read Macao Conbolt and had a phone number written underneath.
“Who’s this?”
“He runs the program and he’s expecting your call,” Loke informed her, ”Turns out his kid, Romeo, went to school with us. I took the liberty of giving him a call and explaining the situation. Romeo and Gray weren’t close but he still wanted to help.”
“Gray needs to snap out of this, even if we have to force him kicking and screaming,” Loke’s hazel eyes held a fierceness to them that warmed Erza’s heart.
“I agree, thanks for taking this job, I know it’s not what you’d planned.”
“It pays better than most entry-level jobs so honestly, you’re doing me a favor, plus I get to boss people around,” Loke gave her a wicked grin.
“How are you doing?” Erza asked suddenly, not trusting the smiles Loke had been showering her with. Not after everything that had happened. As expected, the moment Erza questioned him the facade crumbled and all that was left was raw grief.
“I’m alright, really I am, “ Loke tried to assure her, “We both know Lyon wouldn’t have wanted this for Gray, I want to help get him back to the way he was. It’s the least I can do.”
Erza stood up and gave her friend a tight hug, she couldn’t imagine what it would feel like to lose Mira, especially without any warning. She could hear Loke’s breathing change as he tried to keep his emotions under control. It broke her heart.
Even though Erza was glad that Loke had taken it upon himself to help Gray, she was growing increasingly concerned about what it might be doing to Loke. She let it go for now, knowing better than to push.
¨Thank you for this, I’m going to call now.” She really hoped they could help her out, she had no idea what else to do if they turned her down. She’d have to go back to doing everything herself and she knew Mira wouldn’t like that.
Loke excused himself from the room and went off to check on the rest of the staff. He was feeling hopeful, Romeo had said that he’d put in a good word and his dad was sympathetic. He wondered how Gray was going to react to the news that his new caretaker was going to be a robot. How do you piss off a robot? Loke had a feeling Gray would make it his personal mission to find out.
O-o
The following day found Erza at the hospital attending a meeting with Gray’s transplant team and the man Loke had put her in contact with the previous day.
“Thank you for meeting with us so quickly, Mr. Conbolt,” Erza shook the older man’s hand and ushered him into the hospital’s conference room. Inside the room, the members of Gray’s transplant team were seated at a large round table.
“Not at all, Mrs. Strauss, from what you told me on the phone your brother’s case might fit our criteria. If he can benefit from our technology, we would like to help,” Macao assured her, “I just need more details to make sure we can help each other out.”
The transplant team spent an hour going over Gray’s case, discussing daily procedures, and medications. They talked about the possibility of organ rejection based on the results of the latest batch of tests they’d performed.
The team psychologist went on at great length about Gray’s depression, survivor’s guilt and anxiety levels. She gave her approval of them moving forward with their plan, claiming it was the type of neutral interactions she felt he needed to move forward.
Erza watched Macao take notes and ask questions of various members of the transplant team. She was impressed with his thoroughness but there was something about his expression that was making her uneasy. Sure enough, after saying goodbye to the doctors he asked her if she had time for a coffee.
They walked over to the hospital’s cafeteria and Macao bought them each a steaming cup. He walked them over to a table in the back of the room. Once they were both seated, he began to speak.
“I’m going to be honest with you, this is a little more than what our current generation of robots can handle.” Noticing her crestfallen expression he quickly added, “Hold on, I’m not done yet.”
“I want to help, not just because your brother was a friend of my son’s but because I think Gray would benefit from our help. A lot of our clients are older patients whose kids don’t want to take care of them, so from that perspective it wouldn’t be a problem. The robot would be able to stay on top of his medications and any mobility issues but as far as monitoring and the psychological stuff, they’re just not that advanced yet.
Erza looked at the man in confusion. If they couldn’t help then what was he suggesting?
“However, there is one robot in particular, “ Macao looked around furtively before continuing, “You could call him the original one from which we based the technology. He is advanced enough.”
“I don’t understand.”
“He’s a prototype, a very advanced one created by a student as his thesis project,” Macao explained, “Unfortunately, the company saw the benefits to his technology and decided to use some shady verbiage in the agreement the kid had signed to claim that it belonged to them.”
Erza was not impressed with what she was hearing, as a lawyer she had half a mind to look into it herself so she was surprised to see the man burst into fits of genuine mirth.
Noticing her expression Macao hurriedly explained, “Let’s just say the student in question was not okay with that and since he couldn’t destroy his work without getting arrested, he made some modifications to his code that made the robot unreliable. And he made sure to protect the more advanced aspects of his technologies at the end of his internship. No efforts by any of our researchers have managed to unlock its secrets yet.”
“You know this student?”
“Oh yes, very well,” Macao smiled, “He’s been friends with my son for years, Gray might know him too if they hung out in the same groups. More importantly, your brother is the type of patient I know he had in mind when he designed his robot. He’s a good kid.”
“You said the robot was unreliable.” Erza pointed out, “Why would you recommend him for my brother?”
“The robot can be a bit colorful in its choice of words,” Macao explained, “Not so good for a sixty year old lady but perhaps something Gray will appreciate. As I said, this robot is much more advanced, it has diagnostic capabilities on top of everything else and it is adaptable. I’ll make sure to load him up with a psychological database before delivering him as well as uploading all the medication information I received from the transplant team. That is assuming you still want to give this a try.”
“Is the robot dangerous in any way?” Erza asked cautiously.
“No, all of the robots have numerous safeguards to protect their charges and also themselves.”
“Will I need to make any adjustments to the house?” Erza asked, her mind already made up to give this a try.
“Our engineer will install a special plug the robot can use to charge at night, but that should be it. That will be included in the fee we’ve already discussed, you’ll also have to sign a non-disclosure agreement.”
“Alright, Mr. Conbolt, those terms sound reasonable. How quickly can you have this robot delivered?”
“I can have him there in three days, we’ll need to sign the paperwork now or I won’t be able to claim it was an honest mistake that you got this robot and not another,” Macao grinned mischievously.
Erza nodded and they spent the next hour going through paperwork. She agreed to wire the fee as soon as the bank opened in the morning. They shook hands again before saying their goodbyes.
Erza remained in the cafeteria for a few minutes, absorbing the enormity of what she’d just done and praying that it worked. She hoped Gray adjusted quickly.
O-o
Gray woke up to the loud beeping of a truck backing up their driveway. He looked at his watch and when he saw it was only seven o’clock in the morning he promptly went back to sleep ignoring the noises of the staff moving stuff around the house.
He was rudely awoken some time later by a strange metallic noise in his room he didn’t recognize, the room instantly flooding with bright sunlight as someone opened the blackout curtains. Gray’s eyes teared up at the unexpected brightness, making it hard to make out who was in his room, he was able to make out a blob of pink?
Gray was further startled by a male voice he did not recognize introducing himself. “Hello, I am Dragion, your personal healthcare companion.”
A/N I’m going to be super honest, there is a lot plotted for this story but I hadn’t planned on publishing it for a while. I’m only doing so now in a bid to help the Erzajane Project. It will get updated but I would like to update some of my older stories first as they are way overdue!
