Sweet little Combo got to go back with his sister and two brothers this afternoon. They are all eating and doing well, and in the comfort of an amazing foster home. The vet has told us the typical prognosis for the condition isn't always the best, but every kitten is different. We know some have lived well beyond their years and some fade within days. Honestly, any kitten without a mother holds the same sad chances. We will do our best with this litter, as we do with all of them. We're told the photos of our kittens make them look much larger than they actually are. We're guessing sharing that they weigh 6.25oz and 1.9oz really doesn't give you a fair picture. Maybe a ruler will help. 🙀 The little one is hanging on by a thread. WAY too small to be away from momma. Birth weight is typically at LEAST 2.8oz. This is a 5 day old kitten at 1.9oz. Unless he was a premie who survived this long, he's tragically underweight. Please help us welcome the newest kittens to our team! These six incredibly gross adorable babies were dumped without their mom at the local shelter. They're having a tough time transitioning from mom's nutrients to all this human-based stuff! Poor babies have some serious diarrhea, eye yuckies, and are pretty underweight for their age. They range from about .48lbs to .75lbs yet they're 3 weeks old. We're hoping the finder traps the mom and gets in on the great deals the shelter has going right now with FREE community spays for Santa Rosa County residents. MITTENS!! 😻😻 Welcome the newest family of mittens..... We means KITTENS! 😸 This beautiful momma kitty was noticed as a stray left behind. The finders thought she was sick and extra skinny one day, but quickly found out there were kittens! So they actively were working to get this mom and babies the vetting they needed but came up against the fact that 6 cats to vet would be a huge cost and the shelter was their only option. Having this family live where they were just wasn't a safe option. So instead of trapping to head to the shelter, they came straight to us. We were quite surprised when we assumed we were getting 6 wild kittens and these babies appeared. They're not wild at all and have an amazing and sweet mom as their genetic making! The difference between feral kittens and kittens who become feral is all about genetics. Strays left behind, unaltered, can produce offspring who learn to fend for themselves and BECOME feral for survival. When those kittens have kittens, you begin to see feral born kittens who have the genetic makeup of wild in their blood! 🙀 We're happy to say the cycle for this momma will end here. These babies will not have to turn wild to make it in this world and they'll never be forced to have offspring. Yay for that! Please meet out new littles 😻 These two baby boys were found on the doorstep of a local vet office in absolutely terrible condition. They sent them straight to the shelter where they were lucky enough to have a caring person step up to foster while the shelter found a way to get them out. We rushed to find a space in our foster care for these two sweet boys to have a soft place to land. Our incredible foster caregivers made way for these guys and they joined our team right away. Two VERY SPECIAL adoptions today! Compliments is a Crunchy Muffin who is just as loveable as they come. This beautiful boy was found by this incredible family and got to go home to finish his treatment today. Ringworm is a simple rash that is yes, highly contagious and zoonotic, but NOT A DEATH SENTENCE! Yay for families like this! Iris and Ivy found their happy second after today too! They were adopted as babies from us before being dumped back on our front porch. We found out shortly afterwards that they had seizures. So sad for these girls BUT our amazing vets put them on meds which have since controlled their seizures. They were adopted into the loving home our adorable Sushi was able to join a few months back. We just LOVE thee adopters! 😻 So this proves, yet again, that we have THE BEST adopters around! We are the luckiest group around! Happy life to all our kitties! Please meet Casper... Casper is an adorable 12 week old baby who is our newest Crunchy Muffin. www.ahope4src.com/crunchymuffins He is being treated for ringworm in a loving foster home. Casper also had a lump on his tongue which was removed and biopsied as a lipoma. The bump could return, but it is gone for now. Sweet Casper can only eat wet food right now so his tongue can heal. You wouldn't know this boy had anything wrong with him by the way he acts. He is loving, talkative, playful, and super sweet. He is fixed, fully vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped. Basically, he only needs lime sulfur dips every 4th day and oral meds for a couple more weeks. He has kitty friends who also have ringworm, and he loves them too! This little guy just melted our hearts being in the local shelter over a month. We knew we wanted to get him out and help find him a home. We celebrate the adoption of Fa, who was adopted a couple weeks ago yet ultimately returned for "Single Kitten Syndrome". Kittens at this age will start exhibiting behaviors (sometimes) which are unwanted, and only due to getting bored and not learning proper kitten behavior.
