I'm not sure why people seem to think that Shadow punching Sonic in the face gave him memory loss?? He only forgot things that happened after the punch, and it's implied that before Sonic gets that flashback, he didn't remember fighting with Shadow at all.

In fact, I don't think he remembered much of anything that happened that day when he first woke up in New Yoke City.

I initially assumed that when Sonic wondered why he couldn't remember going there, it was a simple explanation of "well he was passed out when he was traveling dimensions, there's nothing for him to remember."

But notice his demeanor after the first flashback we get to before the Prism shattered:

His eyes are half-closed, he's practically limp, and as funny as it is to see him fall flat on his face... Sonic had plenty of time to see the ground coming. He could have easily flipped around to land on his feet, or try to grab onto something, but he didn't. Because he was too out-of-it from his flashback to process that he was plummeting down from a skyscraper.

Seeing Shadow while he was running tests triggered his second flashback, which helped him remember everything up to that punch; it didn't make him forget anything.

The next thing he remembers after he tires out is that Shadow was there when he was fighting Eggman, but he doesn't remember anything between those two points for a while; not until the sound of an explosion reminds him of the one that happened earlier.

It takes Sonic three episodes to get his memory back, which is impressive considering I didn't even realize he had amnesia at first. I actually really like how that plot point was built up over time, it really helped the scene where Sonic finally remembers that he broke the Paradox Prism hit even harder.

(Someone please give this guy a blanket or something he deserves it)

TLDR; Shadow had nothing to do with Sonic getting amnesia, I'm pretty sure that was a side effect of absorbing the Prism energy or something. If anything, Shadow's presence actually helped Sonic remember more than he would have otherwise.

As someone who personally disliked the fandom characterization of Mangey as a child who is basically a wild animal

Which of course meant that (even though this standard was not applied to other equally feral boscage maze characters) if you even dared to have ships involving Mangey it was considered "beastiality"

Season 3 was so vindicating for me. Like as someone who always characterized him as selectively mute/largely nonverbal and with less palatable autism, it was so great to see the proof in the pudding that he is just as capable of being more than just the group dog thought like any other mobian and the hilarity of him being surprisingly adept with technology. Like god those few Sails/Mangey interactions were so so good
