Vetri-fucking-maaran. Why would you do this? Why do you show harsh realities and make the audience's skin crawl? Why do you brutally stop the movie at the right time and make us wait for i don't know how long for the second part?
But, what a movie! I felt like Kumaresan, stuck between the two ideologies, not knowing who is right and was desperately waiting for him to pick one. It's just pure Vetrimaaran politics and I love it.
The police brutality scenes is a constant reminder of all the voices that were silenced, went unnoticed, or was "misheard". It was very hard to watch and I won't be watching this movie again. I can't go through that agony again. The mere fact that these scenes is not at all imagination but a very high possibility is extremely unsettling.
And, Tamilarasi. Firstly, thank you Vetrimaaran for casting a tamil actress whose looks like a normal village girl. Secondly, very nice acting, whether it was to act cute or to cry her eyes out.
Vijay Sethupathi, of course. I don't have to say anything. My man is fucking hot and well, acting was flawless.
But, Soori. He did it. I thought that man can't get through a scene without jumping around or cracking a lame joke. But he did it. Perfect for the role and he nailed it. Vetrimaaran, you brilliant bastard.
Yeah, that's it. Eagerly waiting for part 2 since it will have more of Perumal and his ideology aka Vetrimaaran's ideologies.
(Yeah, I deliberately didn't mention Gautam Menon lol.)
