Should I decide to pump new material on YouTube, this is what I'll be putting up for every new video I'd post from now own should the new YouTube COPPA revision proceed. As a reminder, COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) was specifically organized to insure no one under 13 years of age... or rather 16 or even 18 depending on which part of the world you live (Frankly the latter to seem more reasonable) would be active on any social media platforms, and that includes YouTube. I know there are a lot of kids who just want to have fun watching videos on YouTube, and that's okay, it's nice to be entertained but the harsh truth of the matter is that if you're under 13, or rather 16 or even 18 years of age you should not be on YouTube at all. Sorry I know kids want to watch other people's work for their own amusement, and there's nothing wrong with that in general, but please bare with me it's not to be a killjoy it's for their own protection. One thing that must be acknowledged is that most of the internet is not open sourced, there are entities that track people's information based on browsing history and especially online account activity such as registering on a platform like Deviantart, Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, or YouTube, and yes YouTube IS a social media platform, not a television station on the computer; so if a juvenile were to gain access to any of these websites they are at the risk of having their information sourced by an anonymous entity, be it an actual person or a bot that sources information for a company that can use whatever information they can gather to know exactly who you are. Trust me not even adults are safe from this; but kids especially are at risk! And YouTube, be it by accident or design, has recently been trying to appeal to kids by allowing more kid-friendly content to surface... only for some not kid-friendly content to be automatically categorized with them. For the record I don't mean explicit language (Trust me "bad words" are harmless) I mean traumatizing content like gore, rape, torture and so forth, and unfortunately there were some pretty sick people who made such content and worse the bots categorized them as kid-friendly content that did go through the YouTube Kids app. Also there kids have attempted to make their own accounts before, but also more recently it seems parents made accounts for them to make videos about their kids (to a point where sometimes it seems they're taking advantage of them... in which is did happen but only for a few occasions), and this is what got the attention of COPPA, and both Google and YouTube did pay a fine for $170 Million. But that was apparently not enough; now COPPA is taking matter in their own hands and deciding for themselves what is or isn't "for kids" or "for adults." And here's a list of things they have arbitrarily deemed "kid-friendly" - Animation - Art - Music - Cartoon Characters - Comic Books - Bright Colors - Animals - Video Games - Toys And the list goes on from there. And bear in mind these aren't bots, these are actual human beings who are deciding all of this! Now don't get me wrong, COPPA IS a good thing! We need something like this for the protection of kids who again access to the internet because again the internet in general is not open-sourced and anyone's information can be gathered. Now like I said, I have not problem with kids just wanting to have fun watching videos, anyone can watch anything as long as it isn't too gratuitous or mean-spirited like those Peppa Pig "Parody" videos, but YouTube has been going about this the wrong way. YouTube in itself is a social media platform, one that has been for adults older than 13, it's always been that way; yet it was convenient for people to upload children's, and for a while kids and adults alike did enjoy them, and some even grew pretty big like the Big Green Rabbit videos (The Rhino song was my favorite btw), but unfortunately it's because people failed to recognize YouTube as a social media platform and not something open-sourced (On top of generations of how society has arbitrarily deemed content as either "kids content" or "adult content") that's how we got these conflicting issues with the concern and actual consequences of children's exposure to online creative content, especially since Google bought YouTube out right. And trust me in itself Google buying YouTube was a major monopoly that is what further escalated into a whole domino effect of screw ups, and this one is no exception. In fact this could very well be the straw that broke the camel's back. Now in hindsight one can argue that kids on social media platforms are a given inevitability and in some regard that's not inaccurate, change always comes to society and thus society itself must always come up with new solutions to integrate that change, sometimes it works (in fact there are plenty of times where it works at least regarding social and cultural progression) other times it just leads to unfortunate circumstances in which everybody loses. In the case of YouTube, marking something as either "for kids" or "for adults" won't benefit anyone because on the "adult" side of things it will only encourage content creators to come up with even darker and more messed up material to try and earn a living, and on the "kid-friendly" side of things creators will lose the benefit of ad revenue, likes, subscription bells and commentary feedback. Plus it will only put the kids themselves at even more of a risk at being exposed to the much darker and more disturbing content that people would be put in a position to take advantage of. So all in all it's a lose-lose situation. Thankfully it's not over yet. This new revision still wouldn't be decided until December 9th. So if you want your voices to be heard, please type a comment here at https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=FTC-2019-0054-0001 and remember to please be concise and civil about your own input on this movement and what you think could be done alternatively that can benefit everyone. And of course you can also sign this petition here at https://www.change.org/p/youtubers-and-viewers-unite-against-ftc-regulation?recruiter=22933989&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_message&recruited_by_id=d2920a70-4c0f-0130-bd5d-3c764e048845&share_bandit_exp=message-18756399-en-US&share_bandit_var=v3. And you can always share these with others! The more the merrier :) To anyone who likes to make works of entertainment in any form of media all I just wanna say is don't give up! Don't let everything you've ever worked for be for nothing. You need to be smart, you need to be civil, and you need to keep fighting whatever obstacle life throws at you. And even if you don't succeed in something you can still come out on top by accomplishing something else. Even if YouTube does fall, there is always an open door for alternatives. They may not be the best, but never the less they can still provide opportunities for people to share their creative work. Never the less, the fight for YouTube isn't over yet! And you still have a chance to shine in the darkness.

ooooh do harley !! (btw your blog aesthetic is amaazing)
i love!!! her!!! (and thank you so much ahhhh i’m glad you like it!!!)
also sidenote... i already run a harley blog if you wanna drop that a follow wink wink @hyenaharley
their blog url- uhhh hyenaharley lol or i’m thinking maybe looney-tuney or something referencing cartoons or video games knowing her
the kind of posts they reblog- circus and candy aesthetics mixed in with the WORST posts from the ‘random!!! XD!!!’ side of tumblr, and a good dose of the weird ‘i love knives... i could kill you... sweet serial killer’ stuff too
the first person they followed- a bunch of pastel aesthetic blogs that she loves but never reblogs from, then a bunch of gore and blood aesthetics followed by red edgy blogs for good measure. can’t forget the video game, comic and cartoon fans. she hit follow limit within a few days of first joining the hellsite and it was pretty impressive actually
what kind of theme they’d have- harley has the best red and black aesthetic going on her double column theme but she ruins it every damn time she posts because she can’t really commit to the idea of not posting minions (let’s face it she would fucking love the minions i’m sorry but you gotta face the truth)
what kind of text posts they make at 2am- SUPER FUCKING WEIRD shit. “zootopia must have a stable economy”, “do bees cry?”, “imagine if the sky was YELLOW”
send me a character and i’ll tell you about their tumblr!
