Species Name: Osscel

Planet of Origin: Immer

Osscel are one of two major species on their planet. They live in caves formed in the canyons that cross the entire globe. They are close knit and territorial, living in groups that are only 2-3 families large. Every group has their own traditions and holidays, though there is one holiday that all Osscel celebrate. Days on the planet last the equivalent of a present earth month with nights lasting the same amount of time.

Osscel are humanoid, with more animalistic legs and a tail. Their most notable feature is the bones jutting out of their skin similarly to armor. The bones extend where the layer of skin and muscle is thin. Joints and the parts of the spine that are visible are very spiked. The bone extending from the shoulder is very spiked and sharp. On the face there is what looks to be a mask made out of bone. It it not a mask but the actual top and front half of the skull. Sharp points extend from the bottom of the skull in what looks to be a second set of top teeth. The bone ends an inch further back than a human hairline. The hair grows from that line back. The tail also has bone sticking out similarly to the spine. Bone extends from the fingers to act as claws. Their feet do the same.

Due to the long days, their skin is in the darker ranges extending anywhere from a deep red to a pure black. Their hair is also as dark as their skin, though many dye it brighter colors when they leave the planet. Their eyes have black sclera and pale irises that range through a number of hues. Pale blue is the most common. Their teeth are sharp due to a primarily carnivorous diet. They average in height at 6’5. Many bare colorful markings that indicate which family they are from. Gender has no real meaning to Osscel, though there are two different reproductive organs they could have. Since they have no secondary sex characteristics, they feel no need to differentiate between the two until it comes to reproduction. Osscel decide if they wish to use gender specific pronouns or to use ones that are not specific to any gender.

Osscel are considered mature when the bones stick out an inch past the skin. Once they are matured, they can either choose to stay on planet with their family or leave the planet. Many choose to stay on planet and the few that leave end up becoming bodyguards or soldiers for hire due to their natural armor and self defense abilities. On planet they wear limited clothing, usually just a wrap around their waist to cover their genitalia. Off planet their outfits consist of trousers that are sturdy enough to prevent ripping and a tank top to free their arms. Both off and on planet their main weapons are staffs, though they can use their claws and fangs if needed.

Day 28: Charagma

Dark is a very old being, every time he ‘dies’ he reverts back into a small orb where he waits for someone to drop some blood or something with their DNA on it so that he can take a new form. He can change into any species with enough of their DNA and becomes a better version of the original (stronger, faster, smarter, etc.) The only thing that remains constant through all forms are the red and blue lines down his body. When he gets angry the lines glow, he glitches red and blue, and his skin gets scalding hot. While this doesn’t affect him, it does affect others that might touch him.

When he was captured by the federation, their intention was to experiment on him since he is the only one of his kind. He’s also a criminal, so they were able to do this legally. Their ship crashed though, killing all the occupants except Dark, who just reverted back into his orb form. Flash forward 40 or so years when Mark and friends are scavenging the ship for parts. Mark’s arm brushes against something sharp, his arm is cut, and he loses a decent sample of blood. Dark takes this as his long awaited opportunity to get a body again. It takes a few months for him to fully transform into what he assumes Mark looked like (he only saw him once but the DNA did most of the work anyways). He’s pretty close, but he’s a little more alien from Mark’s dad. His ears are pointed and his eyes are longer and thinner.

Next, Dark finds his old ship and readjusts to the changes the universe has gone through over the last 40 or so years. Despite this, he still puts on his old clothes because he likes them. Now, his mission is to find and kill Mark so that he can assume his identity.
