Here is the son boy ever! He’s a little freak who screams at you, His name is skidmark

Sparkcall, aptly named for his screaming abilities, is known as a bit of a goofball amongst his clanmates. Going on patrol with him guarantees shenanigans and probably-made-up stories from yours truly. Of course, he's very popular with the younger cats because of this.

Day 10
Ship: Breakdown x Knock Out
AUs: Sparkcall, Positionswap
Breakdown could feel the exact moment, something on board changed. It only took a couple kliks longer to find out what. Somehow he had hoped meeting his soulmate wouldn't include them laying in his medbay.
Most bots, seeing Breakdown for the first time, assumed he was a warrior, and he couldn't fault them. With his bulky frame and seemingly grim look, it wasn't all that hard to confuse him with one. And Breakdown couldn't deny the amusement he felt whenever he watched a mech after realising that Breakdown was not a warrior, but the medic of the Nemesis. Sure, he didn't look like a medic, but without him, they wouldn't have had any of these idiots left.
He had fixed up Starscream alone more often than he could count, not that this surprised anyone anymore. But the point remains: he was a medic, and a fragging good one at that. Now, his bulky frame had advantages even as a medic, as it made him strong enough to even hold down Megatron or drag him to the medbay, if needed. In comparison, carrying mechs like Starscream was as easy as fixing a scratch, not that there were many other mechs as light as Starscream around. Considering that most of the other bots around were Eradicons and Vehicons, it's not a surprise either.
Amused by his thoughts, Breakdown chuckled as he continued to polish and clean his equipment. With a war going on, he needed to be ready to treat a bot at all times. After having a short look through his medbay, he was quite satisfied with the state of it. After he had finished cleaning his equipment, he would get some Energon. Continuing cleaning, he started to hum under his breath. It didn't take him much longer to finish the cleaning process, after which he started to sort the equipment away.
Just as he put the mini-welder away, a strange feeling rushed through him, as if he had forgotten to go somewhere really important. Unsure where the feeling came from, he pulled his schedule up to see if he missed some sort of appointment. Coming up with nothing that would warrant such a feeling, a small frown settled on his faceplate. However, it didn't stay long as the medbay door opened and Steve poked his head inside with a grin and an invitation to get energon together.
Pushing the weird moment to the side for now, he agreed easily and moved to leave the medbay. With the door closing behind him and Steve pulling him easily into conversation, Breakdown quickly forgot the short incident and instead focused on the current moment instead. There was a short moment during their conversation where he felt some sort of pull, but it was gone as quickly as it came. Maybe he would run a diagnosis scan on himself later when he returned to his medbay.
Just as they reached the mess hall, an alarm started to go off. Immediately, chaos erupted as everyone tried to get to their position as fast as possible. He was calmer than most of the others, but equally anxious to return to his post. Breakdown was quick to turn around again and hurry back to the medbay. No matter the reason for an alarm, he had yet to witness an alarm that didn't end with at least one mech in the medbay. Once he had finally reached his medbay again, he prepared himself for the inevitable patient he would get.
It was then that he received a COM message from the current scout troupe that informed him of an incoming patient. Apparently, a Decepticon warrior had crash landed on earth and had run into the Autobots, and well, even the most skilled warrior shouldn't fight a whole group alone. Preparing a berth and starting to take out the equipment he would need most likely, he had just finished preparations when another wave of the by now well-known feeling of needing to be someplace else at right this moment rushed through him.
A real frown build on his faceplate. He didn't have enough time to run a self-diagnosis to find out where it came from, but he also couldn't risk being distracted while treating a patient. Who knew what kind of mistakes could happen if he didn't put his full focus on his job when he needed to do so? Before he could dwell longer on it, the door opened and two Vehicons carried in a bright cherry red mech and put him on the previously prepared berth. Neither saw the way Breakdown stiffened and stared as they decided not to stay any longer.
Now with the mech in his mech in his medbay, Breakdown could finally identify the feeling he had felt all cycle long. He had really hoped that if he ever met his soulmate, it would never be in his medbay. Apparently, he wasn't granted that wish as his spark call was so clearly offline in one of his medbay berths. Shaking his head, he yanked himself away from the overthinking and ignored his spark's yearning for the time being. His focus was now on the repair of his soulmate; everything else could come later.
He had only started to weld some of the cuts together when a groan left the red mech. Looking up, he was startled to see the other mech online and staring at him. After a couple of kliks a loop-sided grin grew on the red mech's faceplate and there was a breathy laugh: "Who knew my soulmate was a pretty medic?". Feeling his faceplate grow warm at the compliment, Breakdown quickly turned his attention back to the welding.

Interfacing
OK, today are going to discuss interfacing. Let’s talk about sex baby, let’s talk about you and me! Get down tonight, get get get down tonight! Ok, with that out of the way, let’s get onto the topic at hand. We’re going to cover 3 main topics that go hand in hand with interfacing. Reproduction of course, everyone could guess that, but there’s also 2 more that are vitaly important. Those are general health of the mech/femme and the ability to form bonds. We’ll kick this off with the standard point of creating more cybertronians. Sparklings. Cybertronians don’t reproduce as you would think, in fact the act of interfacing can be no more than an after notation in the quest to have a tiny little mech or femme scampering about. There are 2 distinct parts of cybertronian reproduction, interfacing and spark merging. Interfacing is accomplished by inducing an overload, either with a partner or by ones self and isn’t always in the hopes to gain a sparkling. It’s usually accompanied with penetration into ones partner but not always. Each mech/femme has a spike and a valve(minus a few who have had one or another sealed/removed for personal reasons). The taker and receiver have little to do with which gender they are though femmes are slightly are likely to be submissive than mechs. Submissives do usually take to carrying better, with less adverse emotional changes durning the process but that’s not 100 percent. It hinges a lot on their coding as well. For instance Iconian aerial bots, or seekers as they’re more commonly know have a base coding that demands the protection of not only sparklings and younglings but also carriers, and in certain conditions Submissives as well. Praxians(Prowl) share about half their coding with seekers, true Praxians. Not to be confused with any mech that carries doors on their back(Bumblebee). Seekers and Praxians differ in their behavior quite a bit. Seekers when confronted with a sparkling in danger will often offline anyone they precive as a threat. The coding completely over rides everything else and they can’t not control their actions until the sparkling is out of danger. Praxians on the other hand have a much more intact set of coding and are better able to control themselves. If they were to find a sparkling in danger they would still fight to protect it, but only until the danger passed. If the perceived threat turned out to be nothing to worry about they would simply leave. Providing the young one had a care taker. Both types of bots would take in any abondoned sparkling/youngling, but seekers are more likely to raise it alone while Praxians will be driven to find a mate should they not already have one until the youngling is grown enough to be on their own. Mechs/femmes that heir from Polyhexian decent(Jazz) are more dominant and twice as likely to undergo harsher reactions to carrying as say an intermediate mech/femme. An intermediate is a bot that lacks any sort of sparkling base coding, they aren’t submissive, but they aren’t dominant either. They will gladly fill either roll durning the interface(not to say all seekers or Praxians wouldn’t) they just have no pull either way. Now with the coding aspect out of the way we can move on to the act of interfacing. During the interface the partner that is supplying Transfluid to a growing sparkling is generally referred to as a Coder. That’s not to say that they were the one to kindle the sprite though. This is where it can get confusing. There’s 3 main terms to describe mech/femmes who have created a sparkling. These are, Sparker, Coder, and Carrier. The sparker is the bot that has helped to kindle a sprite, the carrier is the one who it is growing inside and the Coder is the one who provides Transfluid. Now, having said that, the sparkling can have many creators depending on how much their carrier gets around. Having many different bits of coding can be a good thing though as it creates a more diverse *gene pool* if you will so if any poor coding, viruses, or defects are weeded out by the stronger coding. The sparker is really only needed for the first 5 orns(roughly 10 weeks). Durning that time the sprite can only have contact with its sparker, anyone else would alter the fluctuations of the carries spark resulting in the sprite being destabilized and reabsorbed back into the carries spark. The first 5 orns are critical to not only getting it off to a good start but also to getting rid of it if the carrier doesn’t want it. If that is the case a simple merge with another will sweep it away. After those initial orns it is strongly opposed since trying after that time will cause severe damage to the carries spark, possibly ending with them going offline. A Coder can step in at any time and assist in the process or completely take over should the sparker not wish to be present. This is where seekers are highly sought after. They will stay with the carrier and help along the sparkling through the whole process and depending on the carriers wishes after it has separated as well. Praxians are not usually concerned over carries, unless it is their mate. They will not generally take in one that had been abondoned like a seeker will. In some cases the sparker can be completely absent in the process minus initial spark contact. It isn’t the best case for the sprite but the carrier can be placed on a spark stabilizer until it’s stronge enough to endure the change in fluctuations while it’s carrier mergers with someone else. Though most sparklings brought about that way are weak and about half don’t make it. In the event that the sparker leaves most medics suggest having it destablized but will comply to the carriers wishes in the end. The Coder’s main job(assuming the sparker is present) is to ensure the sparkling has plenty of Transfluid in order to built its frame. Now the Coder and the sparker can be the same mech, but more often than not the carrier will need more Transfluid than one Coder can provide. If only one is used it often causes draw backs to them since they’re frame is losing so much vital metal. Supplements can help but it takes time for them to be processed into usable material and if not given that time can cause more harm than good. Most carriers prefer to have at least 2 Coder’s though many medics would suggest no less than 4 to keep every one in the best health. Besides kindling new sparks interfacing is also widely used as up keep to ones frame. The Transfluid gained from the interface is stored(so long as the mech/femme isn’t carrying) inside their sparking tank and used to repair any damage to their frame. I’ve covered this on my other post about Transfluid so I’ll only touch on this briefly. Interfacing is often suggested by medics in stead of surgery in order to reduce stress. It works just as well if not better than having to spend groons in stasis on a table getting repairs. Interfacing also helps to regulate spark fluctuations and keep systems running smoothly. Ok, on to spark merging. As with interfacing spark merging has a few uses, one obviously being reproduction. It is also used to form bonds and keep ones frame running smoothly. Spark to spark contact is the only way to kindle a new spark, it can’t be kindled from interfacing alone. The contact between the two sparks given the right conditions will branch off and form another spark. It does up the odds of kindling if they are interfacing, the charge the Transfluid carries adds additional charge making it more likely to get a branching of ones spark. Spark contact is very important to keeping up frame health in order to help change fluctuations much like interfacing. Unlike interfacing if spark contact is not keep up the mech/femme can experience a number of side effects. The most common being sparkcalling, there are cases where it can happen while merging but it’s not common. Sparkcalling is by far the lesser of the issues it can cause and only causes the caller to be more charged up than usual. In most cases a few merges and interfaces will clear up the problem. By far the most severe issue is the weakening of ones spark ending in death if not taken care of. The last symptom would be sparksickness and ranges in severity from mild discomfort to near crushing depression. Once things get that bad it usually takes around 2 orns(2 weeks of spark merging) to fully recover, if the process stops early they will fall back into it in just a few cycles. The cycle goes something like this. It starts as sparkcalling and last around 5 deca-cycles, if it’s not taken care of in that time it degrades into sparksickness and can last for several vorns(each vorn is around 90 years) there really is no set time there since it varies for everyone. At the end of that cycle, their spark begins to weaken and if not given help within just a few deca-cycles they will go offline. Spark contact is vital in bondings as well. I’ll probably do a more in depth piece later so here’s the basics. Bonding is when two bots merge sparks and exchange pieces of each forming a connection that remains even after they part. Bonds are an important part of social structure regarding not just mates, but also family ties.

Kiss of betrayal: Part 1
Jazz POV: I groaned as I slumped against one of the few trees large enough to hold my weight. Things had been unusually quite around here lately and I shuddered to think of what Megatron might be up to this time. Above my helm a birds flitted about, one becoming brave enough to peck me as the other opted to only chirp loudly hoping to discourage my presence. A heavy vent escaped as I looked out over the lake. The pale light of the full moon shimmering over the glassy surface. Small shapes dated just beneath the waters surface, sending the light shuddering as they fought over their small homes. Nipping and chasing each other before darting back into their shells to wait on the next challenge. It still intrigued me how these small fish had gotten here. An internet search marked them as cichlids from lake tanganyika. That was in Africa though. I reasoned that a careless human had released them after getting board. In any matter they offered a welcome reprieve from my other wise scrambled thoughts. It wasn't easy to keep up the facade of being happy all the time. Sometimes I just felt like giving up, just becoming another casualty to our war. I knew it was selfish, that Optimus needed me, but I wished he didn't. My lips pulled down as I felt someone watching me. Figures I couldn't even have my moment in peace. "Ah know yer out there! Ya know fraging well ya don't stand a chance against meh!" A faint russle of leaves singled they were coming my way. Perhaps I'd been wrong, maybe Prowl had followed me. Surely no con would be dumb enough to walk right up to me. I glanced up before I was on my peds ready for a fight. "Soundwave!" This may not turn out so well. I could have taken near any other mech, but he could be problematic. "Jazz." His visor glowed brightly in the early morning moon light as he sank to sit at the lakes edge. My jaw clenched as he reached into his subspace to pull something out. I was ready to move at a seconds notice, when he sprinkled something into the water. The fish darted up, picking up whatever he was dropping and I eased abit closer to see the ever so tiny crumbs they were eating. "What are ya doing?!" The telepath hummed lightly but didn't bother looking up. "They need to eat." It took a second to wrap my mind around the fact that they were his pets. "A Decepticon that keeps pet fish. There's something ah never thought ah'd hear." He hummed again, giving them a last sprinkle before placing the bucket back into his subspace. "They are Samantha's. Soundwave feeds them for her while she is away." I blinked at him, wondering if he was serious. Then he just walked away, like he wasn't concerned about me at all... Ratchet crossed his arms as I finished telling him about what happened. "As I've said. I didn't find any evidence of a hack, for the third time. I don't know why he left without a fight but he didn't touch your processor. Be glad." Prowl watched as I stood from the cot, looking concerned. "I am glad that you're OK. Perhaps next time you should stick closer to base." I rolled my optics, letting him follow me from the medbay. "What fun would that be Prowler? Sides, ahm not gonna let him push meh around. Thanks for worrying about meh though." He didn't look amused as we made our way down the long hall way towards my room. "Things could have ended much differently tonight Jazz." "Everything we know could end at anytime, Prowler. Ah for one am not gonna spend meh life jumping around at what could be. Danger is everywhere and until ah offlined ahm gonna do what ah please for as long as ah can." He came to a step as reached my door but I could tell he wanted to say more, I just wanted to go to sleep though. "Goodnight Prowler." He cycled a vent, resting his hand against the wall as my door swished shut once more. My face landed in the not so soft bedding and I was out near instantly... Soundwave POV: I watched as my target dipped his peds into the lake. It almost seemed sureal that I could be doing this now. Before Megatron had gone too far, his own greed had been his undoing but it was in my favor. After a second longer I slipped from the tree line, no doubt he already knew I was there. He was to perceptive not to. "What are ya doing here?" I didn't answer right away as I slipped into the cool water, wading out till it was around my shoulders. "I enjoy swimming here. Jazz should join, the water is quite nice." He cycled a vent and rested his chin on his arm, watching me. "Ahm good. Why do ya keep finding meh?" I didn't bothering answering before I flared my armor and slipped under the waters murky surface... When I came again a few kliks later Jazz was no where to be found. My vents cycled a few times, expelling the muddy water from them before they could work properly once more. I had really hoped he'd stay. Jazz POV: I sighed as my back hit the soft grass blanketing the ground. It'd been a few weeks since I saw Soundwave last. I guessed he must have grown board with whatever he thought he was going to find out about me. My spark hitched, making me wince once more. I shouldn't even be out here while I'm sparkcalling but I was feeling very restless tonight. Prowl offered to help but I wasn't ready just yet so I'd just told him I'd take him up on that later. I really didn't want anyone around the way I was feeling. Let along have them find out just how hard I had to fight to keep up my act. Lately it was getting harder and harder to think of a reason why I needed to stay, why they needed me. I couldn't quite put my finger on what had changed. I hadn't been happy for quite some time, but lately I just felt like I wasn't needed any longer. I sighed, though the familiar prickle of being watched turned it to a growl. I was in no mood for him tonight. "Go away! Why do ya keep finding meh?!" My denta clenched as Soundwave moved closer to tower over me. "Jazz does not make it hard. One would think you want to be found." "One would be wrong!" I replied, optics darting up to where he stood over me. I knew that it was foolish to allow him to have me at such a disadvantage, but I couldn't bring myself to care. There was a growing part of me that longed to be done with this misery and Soundwave just could be my end. He shifted slightly, then moved toward my side before sinking to his aft. My denta clenched together as I watched him sprinkle the crumbs of food into the lake. The small fish on occasion launching clear out of the water to snatch a piece. Soundwave's face mask snicked down suddenly before he pulled a cube from his subspace and took a drink, then passed it to me. "Highgrade." For several seconds I just stared at it before finally taking the offered cube. There were so many reasons why I shouldn't still be here, but for the life of me I seem to think of a good enough one to leave. This was borderline treason, not to mention he could offline me at any second. Or perhaps try to hack into my systems to gain information. I could stop that though, and he knew it I was sure since he hadn't bothered to try. "Its quite clear tonight, though rather on the cool side." The sudden speech made me jump slightly before finally taking the first sip of my gifted cube. I really hasn't expected it to be any good since they didn't have the ability to make it as we did. Their fuel was substandard at best, but this had a pleasant flavor. My optics brightened several shades before dimming to a soft glow as I let the sweet slightly spicy tingle coat my glossa. Soundwave took out another cube, this one for himself. "Query, Jazz approves?" I nodded softly, sitting up more fully to enjoy my treat. "Samantha made them. She is getting very good at making our fuel." A frown crossed my face, cube stopping just before my lips. "Ya got humans held hostage to make yer fuel?" He shook his helm lightly. "Only one human, though the argument could be made that she isn't anymore. She is also not held hostage. Attempting to do such has not ended well for Megatron and I do not plan to make the same mistake." My optics brightened, the implication of what he just said was far from lost on me. I finally looked over to him and he inclined his helm to my unasked question. "He is offline." For several long moments I couldn't speak. How long had we been fighting for that outcome? And a human had gotten the job done?! My processor could barely wrap around that as I watched him take another drink. "Humans can be cyberformed by transfluid. They just have to be given a source to kindle a spark from. Soundwave's was chosen for both in hopes she would gain my abilities. It worked far better than he anticipated and she offlined near everyone on base minus myself and Barricade. Being kindled like that she was young and he did his best to care for her which saved his life. The same can be said for me." I swallowed thickly, watching as he swirled his cube. Something just didn't sit right. Why would he tell me this? He must know that it would put him in a huge amount of danger since he no longer had the back up to save him. Unless it was all a trick to get us to let our guard down. "Right. Ya think ahm that dumb huh?" He glanced over. "Soundwave thinks many things of Jazz, lack of intelligence is not one of them." He rose to his peds once more, inclining his helm lightly before disappearing into the long shadows cast by the trees. I had better get going as well. Prowl would get worried if I didn't show soon... Soundwave POV: I kept my distance, being sure to only glance at my target every now and then. He would know if I risk more than that. It was very clear that he was sparkcalling. The contestant rubbing of his chest, grinding his aft against the ground, and the trick smears of lubricant staining his other wise clean plating gave him away. The shudder of his vents filled the air and I lifted the stun ray. One shot... The beam raced from the canon at the same second he turned. I held my vents as our optics caught, for a split second I thought I would lose my change. Then his helm bowed, he just left it strike him. I knew he could have gotten out of the way. Even durning this cycle he could have avoided it. So why didn't he? I wanted to believe that he knew he wasn't in danger, that he wanted me to take him way from here. Unfortunately what I wanted to believe and what he really thought were two vastly different things and I couldn't even fool myself. The look in his optics as the stun ready hit was of a mech that had given up, who was ready to offline. I just wished I knew what had caused him to look at me like that... Jazz POV: I kept my optics offline as I began to reboot. The few short snips of Soundwave holding the stun ray looping over in my processor told me everything I needed to know. I had really hoped he'd just offline me out there, not knowing what he had planned sent an unpleasant shiver down my struts. "Query, Jazz is ready to stop playing dead?" My jaw clenched and I finally onlined my optics to see him standing in front of me. A gentle tug at my arms told me what I had already suspected. My hands were restrained by stasis cuffs and I wouldn't be going anywhere. A small smirk curved my lips even through the fear of what was going to happen. It really wasn't funny, but I really should have known how this would end. Perhaps a small part of me did, wanted it even. After all, the last few vorns had become a blur of numbed pain. Not physical, no, that I could handle. This was so much worse and I almost lusted after the chance to feel something else. Maybe it would stop the creeping ache in my spark. I couldn't help the spiteful chuckle that escaped me as I stiffened then slumped against the wall. "Well get on with it then!" Even with his face covered I could tell I had unnerved him, something that made me smirk. He stepped toward me and my frame arched forward involuntarily, searching out the pain I knew could finally ease my spark. Fingers brushed down my middle as he finally came in reach. I had almost expected them to be cold. They weren't though, they felt warm against my plating as he slowly guided one up towards my neck. It was impossible to see what he was thinking but his stance hinted at regret. Maybe he didn't want to be doing this. There was the possibility that he was just trying to decide where to attack first though. I wished he'd hurry. My spark lurched inside its chamber. Having another so close yet being denied was torture in itself. Maybe he knew that. My peds dug into the floor, both trying to get away and closer at the same time. Every fiber of my frame was at odds with each other. Each pulse of my spark crying for a different course of action. A struggled groan escaped as his chest became flush with mine and it was all I could do to keep my chest plate closed. I should have just went with Prowl. This was far worse than any kind of physical torture he could even imagine inflicting. The fragger knew it too. He knew I'd never break to anything he could to my frame. He waited and watched me until I was at my weakest before making his move. "Ya fraging glitch!..." He leaned over slightly as I panted, trying to cool myself. A hand slid down my frame, catching my aft and pulling me even closer. "Open Jazz..." "Frag ya!" He hummed lightly and pulled away making my spark shudder violently in protest. I fought down my keen as he pulled away and left the room. This was a mistake... I should have known he wouldn't just offline me...

Kiss of betrayal: Part 12
I shuddered as my frame slumped limply against my bonds. Just as I'd anticipated there was no way I was going to be going anywhere on my own. The stasis cuffs holding my wrist let go and I would have fallen to the floor had it not been for Prowl. "I believe we over did it." I grunted softly as he laid me out on the bed, tucking himself into my side as a few drops of transfluid trickled down my thigh from his still half pressurized spike. Jazz flopped limply against my other side, spark still glowing brightly as Prowl pulled me back into a merge. His spark pulsed warm and inviting against mine and I sank more fully into him, deepening our connection. I hadn't fully allowed anyone into my spark since Ironstar took the sprite from me. That had taken a huge toll on me and the medic told me I'd never be able to carry again because of the damage he'd done. The forced destabilization had left my spark running too weak to support a sprite. Prowl caught my sorrow and soothed me down as best he could. *I'm so sorry. I wish things could different.* He nuzzled into me, kissing my neck as I held him against me. *Prowl is not at fault. Soundwave had accepted the lose sometime ago.* Prowl moved more fully into me, gently brushing against me until I opened up, allowing him free pass for the first time. Fingers stroked gently over my sides as he slipped fully into my spark to chase away all the darkness that resided there. It was nice to just be allowed to enjoy this level of intimacy without fear of pain. Jazz nuzzled into my side, fingers petting over my belly as he watched us. I wanted to give him the same trust but I honestly doubted I'd be awake long enough to see the end of this merge. Let alone finish another. "Ah got ya Sounders. Ya need to rest, later on ah'll take care of ya." I sighed, managing enough strength to wrap my arm around Jazz as he smiled against my shoulder. I just hoped they continued to get along so well... Prowl POV: My optics drifted over Soundwave once more as Jazz watched me in shock from several steps away. "Ya bit meh...* Even through near crushing demand to drive away the intruder I had enough thought left to felt ashamed of myself. Jazz edged forward and I couldn't stop the low growl that rumbled from my chest. Soundwave slipping an arm under my front legs and pulled me back into his lap as I fought for what little control I had left. "Prowl is likely sparkcalling. Praxian's can become quite possessive of their mates durning that time. Once we have fully established our bonds it will ware off. It may help Prowl to have your full attention. It will help him recognize you as a mate until his coding settles." Fingers brushed my fur and I felt most of tension ebb when Jazz stopped looking at Soundwave. "Go on, everything is fine Prowl." Soundwave gave me push toward Jazz who was just sitting in the chair now. Slowly I moved over to him, resting my helm in his lap when I got close enough. He sighed, brush his thumbs down my cheeks as he offered his neck in submission. That finally banished the last demands to run him off from my coding and I leaned more fully into him. "Its OK Prowler. Ahm here too ya know, ya don't hav'ta protect Sounders from meh." He pulled me up, lifting my helm so we were at optic level before kissing my muzzle. "Ah love ya Prowl..." His sudden confession through me for a loop but I was over joyed to finally have my feelings requited. Jazz laughed, shaking his helm and I realized I'd began wagging my tail without even thinking about it. "Oh Prowler, yer so cute in this form. Come on, ah'll rub yer belly." That did sound good. I stepped back, letting him stand and this time the coding didn't rebel nearly as much when he approached my other mate. He was able to settle into his side without any protest and I hopped up as well, stretching out over them both as Jazz struggled to get free. "Personal space Prowler. Belly rub does not mean ya lay on top of meh." He said finally escaping as Soundwave chuckled, fingers rubbing my audios gently. "Prowl will be feeling clingy for a while, Jazz should know that. It will pass in a few cycles." It hadn't passed, if anything it had gotten worse and I could now say with a high degree of certainly that I was not sparkcalling. In fact I was beginning to think it had less to do with me and more to do with Soundwave. Jazz seemed to be showing some of the same symptoms as myself, just not as strong. He was more tense than usual and while he wouldn't attack anyone unlucky enough to cross our path he still put up an imposing front that warned anyone else off. I sighed as I watched my mate twitch against the bed lightly. Jazz was busy ensuring no one was too close to our flat so that left me to watch over our other pack mate. My optics flickered around the room as I laid over him, protecting him from anyone that may find their way inside. The door swished open and I sat up on my hunches until Jazz came around the corner. Soundwave sat up next to me. Hand running over his spark as he refused to look at us. "I believe I need a medic..." I shifted back to mech form flanking his left side as Jazz took his right. This wasn't going to end well, but what could I do? Soundwave POV: The streets leading up to and entering the clinic were thankfully empty, giving Prowl no perceived threat to protect me from. I just hoped that Ratchet would be exempt from his aggression. Most medics opted to have several codes installed that helped to calm not only sparklings but also seekers. If memory served it had become law for medibots have their carrying codes online durning shifts in order to avoid being offlined by a panicked seeker. I hoped it worked as well on my trine mates. There was no one inside as I stepped up to the desk and rang the bell. There was a room always prepped for emergency, and had this been such I would have gone directly there. Things being how they were I opted to wait the few kliks it took for Ratchet to wake from his nap and motion us back. Prowl paced me several steps while Jazz flanked my side as we approached the room. The door came in reach and I held my vents as Ratchet moved over to me. Neither Prowl or Jazz showed more than passing interest in him though thankfully as he did a quick scan with his optics. "What brings you here today?" The cot dipped slightly under my weight but I had no doubt to the integrity of it seeing as it was built to hold far largest mechs than myself. Ratchet stood waiting for his answer and I triggered my spark open. "The passed 6 orns I've been having symptoms of carrying, but my spark is too weak to be able to support a sprite." I lost count over how meant times I'd told myself that since I first felt the tiny flicker against my spark. I didn't want to let that hope take root only to have it yanked away. Ratchet inclined his helm, scanning over my spark before raising an optic ridge toward me. "Ratchet has identified the cause?" He chuckled softly. "Yes, I'd say it's fair to say I've identified them. 4 and half deca-cycle's should take care of that for you." My optics brightened and for a second I didn't dare to let myself believe what he'd just said. My throat tightened, refusing speech as lubricant began building behind my optics. "Ratchet is sure? How-... How long until they will destabilize?..." Pain lanced my spark at just the thought of having to feel another of my sparklings lose its change at life. He shook his helm. "Its too late for that I'm afraid. Their already too strong to be able to destabilize and I'd strongly advise against trying since it will do irrepairable damage to your spark." For a long klik I could only watch him in shock before managing a dry crack of my vocalizer. "How?... A former lover forcefully destablized my fully developed spirte leaving my spark too weak to carry..." Ratchet drew back at that, anger burning bright in his optics as he watched me. "Was that at your request?" I shook my helm, rubbing over my chassis. "It was against my wishes... Ratchet is sure they will not be lost?" A sad smile crossed his face as he clasped a hand on my shoulder lightly. "They are going to be just fine. Your spark reads just fine to me but I believe I know what happened. Both Jazz and Prowl have abnormally strong sparks and as I'm very sure you've found out they're very ambitious durning interfacing. Sometimes too much so." His optics narrowed and my mates took a collective step back. "Let me catch you in here because you've over worked yourselves." Prowl growled at him but shuffled back as a wrench was smacked in Ratchet's palm. "Don't you growl at me!" Prowl peeked out from behind Jazz and I couldn't help but laugh. I never thought I'd get the chance to feel my sprite grow next to my spark and being here now was nearly overwhelming. Ratchet caught my attention once more. "This is important, you need to keep interfacing and merging frequently. Normally I'd said no less than twice every 6 groons but given your history I want you merging at least 6 times a cycle. The sprites will canniblise your spark if they aren't given proper care." I nodded, glancing towards my mates. "We will be sure to follow your advice. When do you want to see me for my next check up?" He seemed thoughtful for a moment before answering. "We'll set your check up's for every orns to be sure there are no complications. I don't foresee any so long as you continue as you are, it's only to air on the side of caution. Have you ever carried to term?" I shook my helm, fingers still rubbing over my chest as I fought to wrap my mind around the fact that I was really going to become a carrier. "No. I was rather young when my sparkling was taken from me. I am glad that I have been given another chance." Fingers curled around mine and I squeezed back, glancing over to see Jazz watching me. "That would explain why you both have been hovering. I did not know Polyhexians became protective over sparklings." Ratchet snorted. "Polyhexians are quite aggressive when it comes to there mates and I'm honestly surprised has done so well in your trine. In most cases one member is singled out and bullied until they either leave on their own or are forced out. Trines like your rarely work out but you seem to have a knack for beating the odds." I frowned, glancing back to Jazz as he leaned back into Prowl. "It wasn't without some hurtles but I believe we're passed those now." Ratchet nodded, looking to a shelf behind him. "Do you feel you're in need of any additional additives? Getting them from your partner is preferred but twins can be hard to keep up with." A large bag of powdered ore was set down but I declined. "If we find it too taxing keep up with demand we will discuss that later. As of now I am getting plenty. Jazz and Prowl may need that though to avoid their frame being depleted of vital metal." Prowl took the bag when it was offered. "2 level scopes a day for both of you should be sufficient to avoid any deficiencies that would send you to me. On your way so I can get back to my nap. And good luck! If those young ones are anything like your mates you're going to need it!" The old medibot called after us as we were shooed from his office. Prowl POV: A soft smile curved my lips up I felt the gentle knocking under my hand even before I onlined my optics. "Shhh let your carrier rest." I rubbed firmly against his strained middle as one of the twins demanded attention. It was still so hard to believe that we were at a point that my biggest worry was my mate being woken to early from his slumber. The door opened and even though I knew the odds of it being anyone but Jazz I still caught myself growling at him until he was in view. "How is he?" "The contractions finally evened out. They're still spaced pretty far out though. In the last groon he's only had 4." Jazz nodded, smoothing down my left door as he watched us for a long moment. He had been helping in the construction of a new housing complex a few miles away in preparation for some new arrivals. I had offered to swap out with him every few groons but he thought it would be easier on Soundwave to have a steady partner durning separation. He was probably right and I was sure to update him on any changes. Things had been pretty mellow this cycle so far but I could tell he was dragging. "Why don't you stay with him? Things are progressing slow anyhow. Ratchet said it could even be another cycle yet. Let me help with construction while you rest. You're not going to be any good to him if your ready to fall over." I caught his hand and he gave in with little resistance until I had him tucked into my spot at Soundwave's back. "Rest your hand here, they like to feel you right now." His fingers were carefully arranged against my mates over extended plating but I doubted Jazz was even online long enough to know it. I should have insisted a few groons ago but he was as stubborn as ever and would have fought me over it ending in stressing Soundwave, something he needed as little of as possible. A last glance was given toward my soon to be extended family before I slipped away to pick up where Jazz had left off...

Kiss of betrayal: Part 8
Jazz POV: I sighed as Prowl batted at my aft lightly. 'We should see about meeting up with Sounders and Samantha. The sooner the better.' He nodded his consent, letting me stand and stretch my over worked frame. A hand caught me, turning me before he knelt to wipe away the remains of our interface. Out of all my partners over the vorns I could count on one hand the number I'd had more than a passing fling with. Prowl was different though, not just because he loved me. I knew that was part of it, but I had grown far more attached to him than anyone before him. The gentle sweeps of the rag helped in some small part to soothe my rather scrambled thoughts. There's was still some part of me that couldn't believe he really loved me. I knew that it was true though, he'd given me complete access to his spark and it was impossible to lie during that. "Turn." My thoughts were cut, bringing me back to reality where Prowl had finished my front durning my lasp in attention. A vent was cycled as I did as instructed, letting him finish with me before I took the rag to return the favor... Soundwave POV: My optics swept over the lake as I watched and waited to see if Jazz would come. It had been a few cycles since I'd seen him and I hoped that he would show soon. I didn't want him to stress over being my Sparkmate. The crunch of leaves under ped broke the stillness and I let out a vent, waiting for him to make his way to me. I had thought it would have taken him longer, but I was glad it hadn't. It seemed to take a long time for the sound to reach me and I was a little confused that there were more than one set. Someone sighed before they plopped down next to me revealing Jazz's thoughtful looking face. "Prowl I assume..." A low hum sounded behind me, keeping several yards between us. "Jazz is feeling better?" He leaned into my side lightly. "Yeah. Much better." I glanced towards him but he wasn't looking at me. "Melody will be arriving shortly to release her newest catch of fish. Jazz would like to meet with her?" He nodded, finally giving me his optics. "Yeah. Do ya think she would be willing to meet with Optimus? It could change things, now that Megatron is offline. Ahm sorry it had to happen..." A small laugh escaped and I shook my helm. "The sentiment is appreciated, though unnecessary. Megatron had lost sight of our goals many vorns ago. Melody did everyone a favor." Jazz looked quite surprised but I just shrugged. A light noise caught my attention across from us and I glanced over to see Melody had arrived. She growled low, plodding several steps forward until I held my hand out. "Everything is well. Calm." Jazz shifted slightly but I caught his arm. "Jazz, stay." I stood up, moving between them and her growl gutered out. "This is Jazz." For a moment Samantha just looked between us before shifting from her wolf form. "What about him?" She jerked her helm towards Prowl. "He is a good friends of Jazz's. Melody needs to relax." Her optics darted around our company before she huffed and began pulling bags from her subspace. "So this is the mech that's got you so wrapped around his finger huh? He's cute. I can see why you're chasing him." The bags were set in the water, letting them float as she turned her attention back to us. "So why are they here?" She cocked her helm to the side, stepping towards Prowl, doors canting to the side. His doors took up the same position and he knelt, sitting next to a fallen log as she plopped down as well. At least she calmed down pretty quick. "So that's her huh? She's pretty small." "Do not let Melody's size fool you. She is more than capable of taking any one that possess a threat." Jazz nodded softly, moving towards Melody as I followed... Jazz hummed against my neck as I held him against me. It had taken much less time than I'd feared for him to come around and I was glad. I hadn't expected to be at odds with Prowl over him. He didn't appear to be too concerned right now, but he was good at hiding. Watching them the other day I knew Prowl was quite fond of my Sparkmate. I suspected Jazz cared more deeply than even he knew, but that was for them to figure out. As for myself, I had always found Prowl to be rather attractive and would be hard pressed to think of a reason why I shouldn't keep him around. It would help Jazz a lot and I surely wouldn't be opposed to having them both. Melody seemed to like them OK thankfully. I'd had some concerns over that because of Megatron's treatment of her and the application of the Autobot symbol durning such. He had hoped to program a hate into her that would ensure her to fight, and I guess he got his wish. Just not how he'd hoped. Even through all that her desire to protect and defend over rode the hate he wanted and I was glad. In the end, when she'd offlined him and most of the mechs on base it had been because of my interference. I had attempted to help her and Megatron had caught me. You can imagine how well that went over. Myself and Barricade had been appointed to look after her so she would form a bond to us. That worked far better than Megatron took into account and when he gave the order to have me offlined that's when he found out just how well his project worked. I had even been surprised and I'd spent the last 3 deca-cycle's tending her. She was a force I wouldn't wish to be at odds with should she ever choose to fight. That was something she avoided when possible though. My optics flicked toward her to watch as she dabbled her fingers in the water, letting the fish nibble at her. Her doors swished happily before she finally sat up to look at me smiling. For a moment she just watched Jazz before shifting to wolf form. Her frame lowered into a crouch and she wiggled her but like a cat before pouncing on him. Denta attacked his shoulder lightly as he squirmed away letting her curl up in his spot, tail waging as she watched him from the corner of her optic. I couldn't help but laugh ah her, roughing up her helm lightly. "Melody jealous." Jazz huffed from where he had escaped as she continued to bask in her victory. "Perhaps we should get back. We've put off informing Optimus of Megatron's destruction too long already. He will want to know about her anyhow." Melody's tail slowed to a stop against my leg and she whined. "Apologies Melody. It would be benificial for you to go with them though." She looked up art me and finally shifted back, giving me a look. "You should know better than to think you can hide from me. You're worried that their leader will attempt to have them offlined for meeting with you." I sighed, climbing to my peds to rub her helm. "Such an act could be viewed as treason even though it was never intended as such. Melody's protection would be much appreciated." Her hands fell to her hips. "You could have just said that was what you wanted. Didn't have to make excuses. You're my friend and I don't let bad things happen to those I care about when I could stop it. I'll make sure that the other mech knows not to mess with them." I nodded curtly, giving a few more rubs before letting her join them. "One more thing. Melody plays host to the Allspark. It's energy was absorbed into her from a shard she found. No one else knew that." They both looked at me in shock for several seconds before I stepped by to make my way back to the house... Jazz POV: I'd be the first to admit I was more than a little nervous over finally telling Optimus what we'd been up to, putting it off at this point could only worsen things though. Samantha had chosen to fall back on her human form to avoid a lot of fuse which I was glad for. A deep vent was cycled as Prowl pinged for admission. The door slid open and I stepped in, hoping onto his desk as Prowl took the chair. Samantha was set down as she looked around at everything. "Please lock the door. We need to talk in private Sir." Optimus looked unsure as he hit the button to engage the locks. "So private you bring a human I've never met before into our meeting?" Sam snorted, turning her attention to him which I wasn't so sure was a good thing. "For the last half a deca-cycle we have been meeting with Soundwave." Optimus sat up more straight at his desk, optics narrowing on us and I knew we had his full attention now. "The first time wasn't intentional, that's when ah thought he might have hacked. Wasn't completely honest with ya though Bossbot. He told men that Megatron had been offlined and that transfluid was able to cyberform organic tissue. Ah just figured he was lying so ah didn't bother bringing it up. Know it wasn't meh call but ah made it anyhow. Didn't want anyone walking into a trap on bad information. The second time ah saw him it was when ah was sparkcalling. After that ah went looking." "Jazz was suffering from severe sparksickness and it was clouding his judgment." Prowl interceded on my behalf when Optimus gave me a reprimanding look. "The fourth time we met, meh and Prowl had a spat and ah was blowing off steam by the lake when he showed up..." I trailed off, optics flickering anywhere but his as Prowl caught my hand, continuing where I hear left off. "Soundwave is Jazz's Sparkmate." Optimus straightened even more, looking between us as if waiting for the punch line of a joke. "We just came from meeting him again. This it Samantha, she is responsible for offining Megatron." For several kliks he just stared between us before setting his hands on the table. A low growl sounded from Samantha but he may not have heard. "You have both been sneaking off base to meet with a Decepticon. You do realize what the punishment for treason is..." This time he heard the growl as Sam shifted into a femme. "I fucking dare you to say anything but cookies." "Excuse me?" Her optics tacked him in a way I knew meant trouble if things weren't descalated quickly. "Easy now lil lady. It's alright." I pulled her back a little but she was completely focused on Optimus. "I don't think you understand what's going on here. They turned me into this so I could kill you. He wore your symbol while beating me so I would hate you. The only reason you're still online is because of Soundwave. It was his interference at risk of deactivation that saved every one of you from being offlined. And it so happens were pretty close. Now, having said that, I go the extra mile to keep those I love happy and from what I saw there's two are pretty important to him. So. I dare you to say anything but cookies, because I will ripe your throat out and drink your energon while you twitch on the fucking floor!" She snarled, newly formed tail coiling around itself to reveal a stinger as I held her back. Optimus for his part looked quite unnerved until she sat back, a wide grin spread over her face like nothing ever happened. "OK?" He nodded slowly after a few kliks, glancing toward me as Prowl watched Samantha. "Sorry about that. That was my symibot, Bianari. I wouldn't drink your energon, I'd just take over your frame, make your blow your spark out and repurpose it for more material for my symibots. Being cyberformed, the metal doesn't stabilize and it can destabilize other forms of metal and absorb them. Like you, and the rest of those bastards that thought it was funny to play games with me." "OK, you've made your point." Prowl carefully pulled her over and she went willingly with him to cuddle up in his lap much to my surprise. "Don't make me kill you, it's my day off." Optimus glanced to me and I sighed. "Ah know things could have been handled better, but ah really believe it's over this time. Ah just didn't want to get everyone's hopes up until an knew for sure Bossbot. Things have been bad for a while and that would have only made it worse." For a long moment silence stretched between us before Optimus lowered his helm. "That I'll concede to, but what you did was very foolish and had you both not served as long under me as you had things would mostly likely be much different. As things stand now I'm calling a meeting to announce to everyone that Megatron is offline." Sam chirped softly, turning from her attention to Optimus once more. "You should tell them the Allspark is safe was well. She uses my frame as a vessel since hers was destroyed. I can give her another but she is content with me for now." His optics brightened and I knew he was just as surprised as we had been. After a klik a small smile formed on his face before he reached for her only to be left with several bites for his efforts. She growled low at him, curling close to Prowl as he rubbed her doors. "Its OK. Calm down." I frowned, watching them until Prowl sighed. "Her spark is not yet fully formed even though her frame is. Also Praxian's share some of our coding with seekers so having her separated from me would not be advised." It took a second to process that before I burst laughter making Prowl's door bristle in indignation. "I do not know what you find so funny. The coding demands we find a mate to help raise the youngling and it isn't in the habit of talking no for an answer." I shook my helm, watching him was he glared at me. "Right. Not sure how Sounders is gonna feel bout ya trying to steal away his sparkling. He was doing a fine job at raising her before now Prowler. She's not abondoned, ya need to get a hand on yer coding." He cast me a withering look and I drew back in surprise before rubbing the edge of a door. "We're gonna take care of that eventually, but things got settle down first." Optimus looked confused but I didn't bother to elaborate. Prowl would tell him if and when he was ready. For now, there was a lot we needed to do...

Kiss of betrayal: Part 7
Prowl POV: I sighed as Jazz groaned out his overload into my neck, my valve cycling down on him as the sharp crackle of his fluid lite up my sensors. His spark pulsed warm and content next to mine as I wrapped my arms around his back. Primus it was good to have him back, he had nearly driven me crazy. I had missed him deeply when he pulled away and I desperately hoped he wouldn't do it again. Jazz lifted his helm after a few kliks, grinning happily and I couldn't help the extra pulse of my spark as I took him in. I'd sought after him for a lot of vorns even before we became interface partners. I wanted more than that though. It took me some time to come to terms with the fact that Jazz owned my spark and even longer than that for it not to send me into a near panic. His spark jolted in suprise suddenly and I snapped to attention, searching for what had gotten that reaction from my partner. I couldn't find anything out of place in our room. The door was still shut and I would have detected any data-burst. Still though, his optics were bright behind his visor as he watched me. There's was disbelief along with no small amount of shock written not only on his face but his spark as well. Nervousness flooded my spark, making it jump with unease. That finally snapped Jazz out of what ever was wrong but instead of telling me, he began brushing against the carefully built walls I'd constructed. That did nothing for my nerves and I tried to push him away. My hands shoved at his shoulder but he just brushed me off, continuing to prob for any weaknesses in my defenses. "Jazz! Stop!" I managed to roll half way over before he had me pinned with his coding, and was back sniffing around the walls I'd put up. *What are ya hiding behind here Prowl? Seems kinda unfair ya get to hide when it was taken from meh.* I struggled against him, lashing out before I could catch myself. Jazz drew back, spark untangling from mine at the unexpected pain and I had just enough presence of mind to be ashamed of myself. Slowly his optics hardened behind his visor before he was back in my spark. Fear jolted through me and I couldn't quite contain it behind the wall. A sharp whimpered escaped and Jazz froze above me. Spark searching what he could reach as I gathered everything I could behind my carefully constructed defenses. Confusion flicked from him being followed by shock, then anger and I felt my plating knock together as he leaned farther over me once more. "Yer scared of meh..." And then he was gone... Jazz POV: I snarled loudly as my fist impacted a tree hard enough to splinter it along the base. A well aimed kick finished the job and I picked it up, throwing it as far into the lake was possible. "Request, Jazz stop destroying what does not belong to him." My denta clenched together, jaw creaking as I tried to reign in my anger. "What do ya want!?" It was quite for a moment and the only thing that still gave his presence was the burning feeling of his optics on my back. Several kliks passed like that before my legs finally buckled and I dropped my helm onto my knees. Ped falls crunched softly in the grass before Soundwave sat down beside me, one hand resting on my neck. "Jazz would like to talk?" My jaw clenched and unclenched a few times as I growled before I managed to articulate actual words. "The fragger is scared of meh!" Several more kliks of mostly quite stretched between us, disturbed only by the hum of our systems. "Prowl. Correct?" I gave a curt nod, not bothering to look up. "What has brought Jazz to that conclusion?" A sharp huff escaped as I watched the fish finally begin to emerge from their shells once more. I briefly wondered why I felt compelled to recant what had happened. Maybe it was because he had shown no interest in harming me or the rest of us. It could also be that I believed he was telling the truth. But the largest and most probable reason I could think of was that I was so terrified to go back to how things had been the least 3 vorns I'd do pretty much anything. Hiding was what had gotten me into such dire straights and I didn't want to go there again. So with a deep vent I decided to share what had happened. "We were interfacing, and had our speaks merged. Ah thought- No, ah know ah felt love pulse from his spark, but he kept everything walled up. It was a slip up that it had gotten passed, ah know that. Ah tried to get him to take the wall down but he freaked out and lashed out at meh... When ah went back in, that's when ah felt how scared he was..." Just knowing that was almost was bad as being sparksick, and Prowl wasn't here to make it better. My arms wrapped around my legs as my chin rested there. The next couple kliks were quite before Soundwave finally spoke. "It is unlikely Prowl's fear stems from Jazz. More likely someone less kind has left scars on his spark." I flicked a glance sideways to see him lightly rubbing over chest. Regret stained his voice and I carefully reached over to touch him. "Hey... Who hurt ya?" A pregnant pause stretched between us before his fingers gave up on trying to clear away the past pain. "It was long before the war, not all are so caring as to the feelings of others. Soundwave was carrying against Ironstar's wishes. There are still many scars from the forced destabilization of the sprite." My optics brightened behind my visor and I swallowed hard, slowly reaching out toward him. "Primus... Ahm so sorry..." He vented softly. "It was a long time ago..." I tried to catch his optics but they were kept from me. "Jazz should return to Prowl..." I'd be hard pressed to miss the regret in his voice and as much as I knew it would cause issues should anyone find out I couldn't help but stay with him. My spark called out mournfully to his and I moved closed, pulling his arm around my shoulders. He glanced down at me curiously and I found it quite nice in his arms. Soundwave POV: I sighed as Jazz leaned into me, glad that he didn't leave as I'd suggested. "So why did ya abduct meh anyhow? Didn't want what ah knew, weren't using meh as a bargaining chip. Can't figure ya out Sounders." Jazz canted his helm back, looking up at me. I wondered what he would do if I told him. I might as well, I had gained his attention now and there was really was no reason to abstain any longer. A long vent was cycled and I hoped he'd still stick around after finding out my intentions. "Jazz has had my interest for some time now. The risk of acting on it was too great while Megatron was online though." He looked quite surprised and I glanced away from him. "Wow, ok, can't say ah was expecting that. Ahm ah... Yeah there's not much that can follow that..." Jazz rubbed over his knee joint nervously. It wasn't the instant rejection I'd been preparing myself for. Also not the reciprocation if hoped, even though I knew the latter was a foolsparked notion. I cycled a vent, opting to cut my losses and change the subject before he decided to leave. "Jazz should meet Melody soon." He nodded lightly, seemingly thankful for the out to our awkward moment. "Yeah, meh and Prowler talked about that. Bossbot will want to know that Megatron is finally offline. Hoping that she'll be willing to come along with us." I hummed, chancing a glance back to him. "Melody is not hard to get along with. She is just protective over those she care for and will fight to the death to defend those she calls friends. In many ways Jazz and Melody are alike." He lifted his helm from his knees once more and looked at me for a second, seeming to consider something for several moments. A hand caught my face, turning it side to side before pecking a claw against my mask with a sharp. "Off." I hesitated a second before allowing it to slid back. Fingers drifted over my cheek lightly, a thoughtful look occupying Jazz's handsome face. Lips met mine suddenly and I froze for all of a second before I wrapped an arm around him. His legs tangled with mine and I groaned into our kiss as fingers trailed along my middle. There was something on his glossa I couldn't quite place right away but I enjoyed it anyhow. Our noses bumped lightly and he finally pulled back to cycle a few cooling vents as I did the same. "Wow... So it wasn't just because ah was sparkcalling. Ya really make meh feel like that." There was a question written on his face and I sighed, offering the only explanation I could come up with. "Jazz's spark resonates at the same cadence as my own." His optics brightened behind his visor before he scrambled from my lap, placing several yards between us. I turned away from him, snapping my mask back into place as he gaped at me. "Appologies... Jazz should go back to Prowl. Melody will be waiting anyhow." I climbed to my peds, stepping passed him as he just watched me in shock. I hoped I hadn't made a mistake... Prowl POV: I hated that I'd messed up so badly and driven Jazz away because of what had happened all those vorns ago. I should have just left him in! My spark pulsed painfully inside its chamber as I tried my best to calm it. The hiss of door hydraulics made me bolt upright on my berth only to find Jazz standing there. The door swished closed behind him, locks engaging and I really tried to still my nerves. "OK Prowler. How are we gonna do this? Are ya gonna fight like ah did and make it harder? Or are ya gonna show meh yerself what caused such a reaction? Either way ahm not leaving this room until ah know just what made ya so scared of meh." The bed dipped and I forced myself to stay still as he pushed me onto my back. "Jazz please don't..." There was a hardness on his face I hadn't seen before and it didn't help to calm me at all. "Open yer spark. Or ah'll override yer systems and do it myself." A tremor ran through my frame before I could catch it even as I forced myself to obey. Jazz opened his as well, sinking into me but the instant punishment was missing much to my relief. Instead I was privy to a flurry of jumbled thoughts and feelings centered around myself and Soundwave. One was caught and I jolted in surprise. *Your Sparkmate?!* Fingers tightened into my chest and for a moment I forgot about everything else. *Ah have no idea what ahm gonna do...* I watched him in shock as he began shaking over me. The mournful pulse of his spark against mine made me keen, holding him tighter. *Primus Jazz, I'm so sorry.* Tears born of confusion and frustration wet my neck as I tried my best at calming him down. I didn't quite know how to make it better though when I was far from calm myself. I didn't want to lost him, I had just gotten him back! *Yer not gonna lose meh Prowl... Am not leaving ya. Ahm just not sure what ah AHM doing...* I hated that I couldn't take this pain from him and it was going to get worse before it got better... I didn't quite know when I had fallen into recharge but when I woke it was to Jazz watching me sadly as he stroked over my spark. A frown crossed my face before panic flooded my systems when I realized he'd given passed my walls durning recharge. I tried to bolt up but he already anticipated that and I was kept subdued with his coding. *Easy Prowler... Primus ah can't believe she did that..." Jazz's spark pulsed calmly if not sadly against mine and it helped in a small way to calm me as well. *Its OK Prowl. Can't hurt ya anymore. Ah wont let her.* I swallowed thickly against the knot in my throat as he continued to caress my spark gently. So unlike the searing pain I'd been fearing. *Ah wish ah'd have known before just how much ah mean to ya. Gonna be ok though. Ahm not sure how ah could have missed this much, but ahm surely not gonna punish ya for it. Try and relax Prowler...* A small shiver ran through me as Jazz fought against the painful memories Starwind had left behind. *I'm sorry Jazz...* He soothed me with a few gentle pulses of calm before backing the code away so I could move once more. There was still a lot of confusion and nervousness I couldn't dispel as he moved unimpeded through my spark. *Can't believe she overcharged yer spark just because ya got more attached than she wanted.* The soft brush and gentle affection Jazz gave me as he nurtured the love I'd hidden from him went a long way in helping me to settle. He wasn't angry about me loving him, he was many things, but angry wasn't among them. After a second of hesitation I reached out to him, carefully sliding into his side of my merged sparks. There was no small amount of wonder found there and down right shock at his findings. Under the shock I caught a hint of something I couldn't distinguish before he pulled away from me. I frowned, trying to pull him back but he cringed away. "Jazz?..." "Don't Prowler." "I want to help you. And I won't take no for an answer." I caught his waist, pulling him back down with only mild struggling until our sparks were meshed once more. He still tried to hide but I caught the feeling just long enough to identify it... My vents slowed to a stop, lips parting as I just watched him. He wouldn't look at me and I swallowed hard before wrapping him up every way I could, body, mind and spark. *Who made you feel like you don't deserve to be loved?...* Jazz shook his helm lightly, still refusing to look at me. *Oh Jazz... Please? I want to make you feel better. I need you to be happy Jazz. Because if you're not happy, then either am I. Let me be happy?* His jaw clenched, optics flickering around the wall before finally finding mine. Slowly his spark opened once more and I was aloud to see what he held so closely. *Ah've done so many horrible things in the name of this war. At what point do ya realize that ya can't go back? That things will never get better, and that after everything ya don't even deserve to hope... Ahm there Prowl. When the only thing left to fight for is the next battle, everything has already been lost...* His spark shuddered against mine and I keened softly. *Then stopping fighting for the next battle. Stopping fighting for this war and fight for me. I need you Jazz, I need you more than I need to continue this battle. Megatron is offline now...* Behind his visor I saw his optics brighten. *Prowl are ya?-...* I inclined my helm. "You are the most important thing in my life right now Jazz. Above Optimus, above Megatron and above this cursed war. It may take time though. I'll need a plan to avoid being caught for abondoning the war." Jazz sighed, settling more fully into my chest. *Yer really losing it Prowler. Think ya fried yer processor, but ah enjoy yer company. Can't let ya do something foolish so though, yer supposed to be the smart one.* I sighed, rubbing over his back as I worked at banishing the selfloathing that twisted his spark. *I only want you to be happy Jazz, and I'd give anything to make that be.* His spark reached out tentatively to me and I answered back slipping into him fully now that it was offered. Hopefully after this we could both put our pain behind us...

Sparkcall, aptly named for his screaming abilities, is known as a bit of a goofball amongst his clanmates. Going on patrol with him guarantees shenanigans and probably-made-up stories from yours truly. Of course, he's very popular with the younger cats because of this.
