objectively speaking the issues with lore olympus were so much bigger than just bad writing or wonky art. lore olympus was a promising but ultimately shallow fanfic, and honestly, no shame in that, we’ve all written stories and tropes that serve as wish fulfillment, more power to the cringe.
it’s that this series got so much money and time spent on it that it did not deserve - and that it really paved the way for other shallow and whitewashed series to become prominent. webtoons has only gotten more predatory towards its creators over the years, and that was helped in part by the success of lore olympus. which wasn’t even spared the same fate! for all the crap we rightfully put on rachel, there is no denying that webtoons squeezed that golden goose until it burst, and the quality suffered as a result.
clickbait sells, and lore was ultimately a flashy clickbait that just kept getting milked. the problem is that made it easier to stomp down on other creators and artists, and it made it easier to profit off of exploited mythology and culture. it’s a bummer ending that just adds on.

#bella#lc ocs#art#if this needs any extra tags/cws/etc lmk!!#okkkk rambling time! :3c#i used some lines/hatching brushes to mimic mika's style a bit#+ lots of watercolor; pastel/charcoal; nets and sparkles and all that#allll kinds of brushes!#originally this was brighter and the alternate was gonna in black and white but it didnt work out#then i went to fully saturated#then i hit it with the red exclusion layer and eeeeeverything came into place#this was kinda covered up in the end but the alts smile is stretching her skin a bit - there's like bunched up skin right by her hair/eye#i put bellas lineart on top of the alts as well to really put in the like. im you thing. so there's multiple linearts!#as well as her eye fading into the normal bellas closed one just a bit#and finally: bellas little green hair ties stand out for once :)#tw scopophobia#scopophobia

one of the most horrifyingly existential things about kingdom hearts to me is the fact that nobody leaves anything behind when they die
#yes i know keyblades are left behind and belongings and etc etc#but also like. have we ever seen a dead body in kingdom hearts that was legit AND permanent#that didn't just fade into sparkles or darkness or whatever#and by that logic#have we ever been able to confirm a death that nobody actually witnessed themselves?#technically there could have always been a chance that every death nobody was sure of just...didnt actually happen#but also there's always a chance that every death that wasn't certain was in fact a death#and that ambiguity is weirdly terrifying to me#how can anyone know if you're okay if nothing would be left behind when you weren't?#if you want to hope against hope when one person claims to have killed another#all you have to do is claim that the proof is wrong#that the belongings are stolen or that there's no evidence the other person is dead#and you have successfully deluded yourself in a way that can't easily be disproved afaik#it's just kinda scary to me man#kingdom hearts

i sooooooo wish we'd gotten a moment for samus to react to her own transformation at the end of dread. she just seems very "meh whatever" about it. WHICH TO BE FAIR is something i love about her dread characterization, ex. during the Kraid fight and the pre-final boss reveal, but this transformation was like. the payoff for two entire games' worth of buildup
#metroid#talkin#after ZDR exploded would've been a good opportunity i think#I've seen others say that cutting straight to credits from the planet exploding was a bit abrupt and i agree#just her sitting back from the controls as the adrenaline fades before slowly looking at her hand. maybe a line or two from adam#THEN cut to credits#or even just looking down at herself in the moment before Raven Beakzilla shows up#just. something. idk it just felt weirdly empty#i am NOTTT disappointed with what we got to be clear. a tiny reaction from samus would just add that sparkle yaknow
