When Jared feels close to running out of ideas or reaching dm-ing burnout, he turns to Mads for help. She's a pretty rad writer and doesn't face the usual ridiculousness of "can I seduce this" / "can I steal this" / "can I stab that" and so has a bunch more fresher ideas to throw around. He also recounts the most recent antics the party gets up to every time. Fresh eyes are good for examining a situation, yknow?

okay but. never. and i mean NEVER bring up anyone ever asking ‘can i stab that’ when mads is around cause she WILL ask why you didnt let them stab it. always let them stab, jared. stabbing is always accepted (hashtag just as much as mads is a fanfiction writer shes also a thriller writer so stabbing is always in her mind tbh)

you can also tell when jared has had her helping with a campaign, cause to the players it feels a little bit different. nobody questions it straight up out loud, they might off hand mention that there was “something new” or whatnot, and i can definitely imagine at least kit being like “mmhhmm yep something new indeed” cause they know whats happening here+ after a game where something she helped with, mads hears from both jared and kit how the game went down, both with. rather different ways of telling what happened. and its just hilarious to her tbh

Jared (we with Kit's assistance) making a cute af little gintendo bunker out of dorm room with extra fairy lights, scented candles and copies of the newly released let's go pikachomp and let's go eeree, with brand new bubblesaur and vaporee plushes he'd bought for this evening. She comes in and it's just an aesthetic heaven tbh

kit would walk her back to dorm from like. idk a day of arting in the art room and then theyre like “oh heck i forgot something” and take their leave so mads needs to enter in the dorm alone and shes like ‘great i can just crawl into bed and sleep like forever’ but oh whats this? so many blankets and cute fairy lights and jared’s scent of ham is masked behind the candles (im sure they did this on purpose LOL) and hes sitting there holding like a plate of kit-made cookies being like “hey so i heard youve had rough time recently how about we go catch some critterpies”

mads would probably cry. from all the happy emotions and pure exhaustion and jared just being so nice and he tries to not freak out by bringing her into the fort and giving her cookies and a blanket and all the plushies to hug and aaaa

If they got to pick what one another wears for a day, what would one another wear?blue. lots of blue. mads wants jared to wear his blue shirt (”its pretty and its soft and you look so nice in it”) and jared insist she wears one of his shirts (”cause its adorable, they are so big on you”) and her favorite pair of blue jeans. i dont think i need to say why anymore at this point lol

What would they do to celebrate their one year anniversary?jared would arrange something very elaborate tbh. take her to dinner, possibly see a movie, go to the arcade, win her everything she wants, walks in the moonlight.. literally anything that he can think of, and he would fit it into either one day or over the weekend, if mads seems like shes gonna get exhausted by it

Jared has a pair of sunglasses with giant googly eyes stuck onto them. If it looks like Mads needs a laugh (and there aren't too many people around) he'll put them on and continue to do everything completely seriously but with big googly eyes on. Including doing his model poses.

also imagine; jared has that bag he uses in his route to hide his bee stung face. that with googly eyes

but yes they would hold little “photoshoot” sessions with mads while jared wears the googly eyes, of course the pictures would never end up anywhere outside of mads’ phone, but she gets to keep them cause they make her smile when jared cant be there in person to make her feel better

and often times jared wears them like. unnecessarily while being crouched behind his gm book or whatnot, and he just lowers it down and hes sitting there completely straight faced with huge googly eyes looking over at mads and she just fucking loses it cause she wasnt expecting that at all gdi jared shes just trying to help you write a campaign here

I can't help but feel like Mads would eventually find out about Kit and the ham smell? Like it'd be someone else hanging out with Mads (Jimmy?) just making a comment about how she's or the dorm starting to smell of ham now. Not as a positive or negative, just as a remark. And it like. Causes the penny to drop. (Kit doesn't care that much tbh, Shane smells nice now and that's definitely not why I'm mysteriously around him more often.) bonus if when Mads sees Kit next she can tell that Shane 1/2

is mysteriously violet scented now. And like I say, Kit's totally chill and like "no its fine!!" and laughs it off. Tbh

it would probably be either jimmy or caddy that mentions it, jimmy is there hanging out and the ham scent is weirdly strong so he just kinda has to off hand mention it, or caddy is there to drop kit homework or whatnot and just. makes a remark about it. doesnt mean anything about it, but knowing kit and that she doesnt like ham and how she usually smells, its just the kind of a thing that caddy pays attention to tbh

and mads is like. oh? i didnt?? notice??? and kit hasnt mentioned it to her, but then its starting to click like oh kit has been wearing more body sprays recently and the amount of scented candles and nicely but strongly smelling flowers has definitely increased in the room.. do they actually smell the ham too oh my gOD????

honestly tho mads wouldnt ask them about it, cause if kit hasnt brought it up, the chances that its a very awkward thing to talk about is very high, and she just doesnt want things to be awkward. and, well, they seem to be hanging about with shane a lot more, which mads takes as a positive thing, considering how these two basically couldnt get along at first so this is a nice thing. and maybe she could ask jared about the ham thing. to maybe try to make him do something about it. that would probably be less awkward? maybe?

If Jared knows Mads has had a rough week or has one coming up, he'll pull some strings and order some special knabenbauer flowers and get them shipped to her dorm to avoid large amounts of attention. Sunflowers are always a part of the bouquet.

he also knows both her and kit are absolutely fine with getting flowers into the dorm, since he has most definitely seen their dorm room - all the decorations and fairy lights and everything they have in there, so flowers would be a lovely addition to all that!

and even if they couldnt keep flowers alive for the most part, mads would take extra special care of any bouquets that are from jared cause she cherishes them over everything else obviously, cause they are a reminder that someone cares at her worst times

like everything else in jared and whatever jared does, its like. a super elegant pillow fort and nobody has any idea how he managed to build it or how did he have enough blankets for both the fort AND to build a gigantic nest with them inside of it jared is literally that magical

also i can imagine this ending up with mads throwing a bunch of a plushies at jared trying to distract him cause she just really wants to win these nokemon battles but shes such a casual nerd shes just no challenge to jared and gdi she will get salty (but im sure jared has a way to make her forget about it afterwards tho)

17. “Why can’t you realize that I’m falling for you? No wait, I’ve already fallen. But you didn’t catch me.”

”Whydon’t you ever talk to me?”

    She didn’t answer tohim, only tried to focus back on cleaning the meeting notes off from the blackboard.She hadn’t wished for cleaning duty today, especially not together with Jared,but things just didn’t really seem to go the way she liked at all these days.

    Pixi sighed.

    “We do talk. We aretalking right now.”

    “You know what I mean.”

    She looked over hershoulder, watching the tall boy across the room as he swept the floor of theclubroom. Even with such a simple item as a broom in his hand Jared moved likehe jumped straight out of a dream, his movements were rivaling the fluidness ofa dancer, his quiet and light step matching that of a ninja.

    Sometimes it was nowonder he had slipped away from her.

    It took a moment forhim to catch up to the fact that she was staring, the pair of blue eyes lookingup from the floor and into her direction. Pixi could have sworn she saw a hintof green in the dim lighting of the room before he blinked it away.

    “We barely share morethan greetings in the hallways. Most of the time not even those. You talk toeveryone else in the club but me.”

    Even worse than saying thosethings to someone’s face was to see them not being able to react the way youwanted them to. Given, he had a reason, he had someone else, but it still didn’tpush away the need to see him smile, maybe laugh a little, and return thosewords, those feelings back to you.

    Actually, even sayingthose words was a lie. It was a lie she couldn’t keep inside anymore, even ifit was never meant to be, at least she could be honest with him about it. Maybeit made everything worse, maybe it made things even messier than they alreadywere, more ‘tiring’ as Jared put it, but she had to get them out.

    “No wait, I’ve already fallen.”

    She did, a long time ago. The very first day, in fact.She didn’t tell anyone, it wasn’t worth mentioning. Of course it was obviousthat it happened, which girl in school wouldn’t have fallen for the popularplayboy act that had become Jared’s speciality since forever ago?

    But just like everyone else, she was just one of themany. One that could only hope. Even as friends, as members of the same club,there was no hope.

    He always had someone else.

    And she was tired of it.

    “But you didn’t catch me.”

    He caught someone else. In arms where she would neverbe in. She had accepted it, at least part of it, knowing things would neverchange. Maybe she didn’t want them to change either. He seemed happy, switchinghis ladies on a weekly basis probably more often than he did with his socks,and she didn’t want to be just one of them. She wanted to be the only one.

    And it was too obvious for both of them that it wasnever going to happen.

    The only words that followed the silence.

    Pixi smiled shortly become she whipped herself aroundto face the blackboard again, picking the eraser back into her hands. She triedfocusing on cleaning the board again, trying to blink away the tears stingingin the corners of her eyes.

Also might I suggest as spar//klehar/per isn't a thing now for obvs reasons, it runs parallel to another natemadness route? As Mads spends more time with Nate and the bosses, Kit and Shane slowly start getting to know each other whilst the others are preoccupied. (?)

i have actually been thinking about this too in relation to things, like. it might start as a sparkleharper route, but through things one way or another it either leads to a breakup or these two never become a thing, which makes mads either leave the normal boots club or refusing to join when asked, depending on where we were at with things when they fall out

which kind of. gives her a reputation of sorts i guess? i mean this IS the big popular club in school and shes declining their invitation to join/is leaving them, and she stands out in the school crowd anyways like a sore thumb with her hair and everything so it gives her some attention for sure. ..which in turn attracts nates attention tbh cause theres? rumors?? about someone else than him flying around for a change??? and he knows this girl and they share a class and are probably in somewhat terms at this point anyways so. yep

so they start spending time together. through that mads spends more time with the b3. which kinda drops kit to hang out with shane as they kinda wanna get to the bottom of this normal boots situation to find out what happened with mads and all as she wont really talk about it or anything, and shane seems. friendly enough (oddly enough tbh) plus hes jirards roommate and kit knows jirard and they sometimes see him in the arts center too so they know him somewhat and. yep. thats a thing

i could imagine shane would find them intriguing in the same manner he finds hana intriguing? like welp theres this nerd with their pink hair and a very loud attitude and i dont know how to deal with all of this, especially since they even more so than hana remind him of emily and stuff in england cause they speak the language and have an accent and everythings just kinda weird?

..but also they are a friend/roommate of one of my friends gf’s so i guess i just. kinda have to try to get along with them cause things will probably be too awkward otherwise ugh what a pain

somewhere down the line theres bonding over their home country and missing stuff in there. for a special day of some kind they end up making cookies together (more like kit wanted to surprise mads i guess by making her cookies and went over to bluebell so they wouldnt let anyone in primrose know they were doing this and shane was baking in the kitchen uuuuuh what??) and just bond. a little by little

they are both doodlers so they often catch each other furiously scribbling things down in their sketchpads. in the cafeteria, outside when its a nice weathers, more often than not in the arts center when they happen to be there at the same time (the story doesnt tell if this is a coincidence that they cross paths this often there or if this is planned wink wink)
