This Beast was no joke, but I killed it…eventually! 😜 The venue was an amazingly gorgeous place. The terrain was so diverse it kept it interesting. But, today I decided to skip the Super and only run the Sprint. Physically, I feel pretty good, but since I’m not very fast and it is followed by a Sprint, I would be done pretty late and I still have to drive home tonight. So instead of killing myself and driving home exhausted, I’d rather be safe, run the race that will give me my 3X and walk away satisfied with a great weekend of racing! This will be my first time ever attempting to do al 3 races (Sprint, Super, and Beast) in one weekend. We will be starting with a Beast on Saturday followed by a Super Sunday morning and a Sprint Sunday afternoon. Although this was a pretty exhausting weekend, it was amazing! Drove 9 1/2 hrs each way to Asheville NC - which was absolutely gorgeous - I then completed my 3rd Super for 2017 and I improved on my time on a mountain course (pre and post injury) by finishing in just under 6 hours. I also was able to lift the men's herc hoist which I was told was over 110 lbs. because they were wet. And as is usual with such an awesome community, I met some great new people and saw many familiar faces on and off the course! It's always a great time!!!
