14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

Riku: This is such a good question for Riku because this is like such an important part of his character. The short answer is that it depends on the character! For example to the Thieves, he wants to appear as a cool, confident friend who's always up for a dare and a bit of fun. To his parents he wants to come across as a reliable and worthy son. This cause Riku a lot of problems as this causes his self esteem to be real low (nobody wants the real him kinda issues). In general he always wants to appear as confidence and able to handle anything (just different flavor depending on the person).

Spiderfiend: I think this is pretty common with all spider people but he wants to be someone people can look up to. At first he wanted to be the guy that people would turn to, a hero you could always rely on. He kinda became the guy he wish was around the night his mom died. However as he gets older and matures he realizes he'd rather be a symbol of hope. He won't always be there to save others (hint hint for the event that triggers this change) so instead he wants to inspire others to protect themselves and others, but he'll still do his best to be there for those in need!

23. What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?

Riku: Hmm. I think a mixture of pain and anger. Riku isn't naturally an angry person, but he has been throw a fair amount of shit in life and he's never really been able to express it properly. I think he just bottles it up for the most part and he'll just remove himself from the situation.

Spiderfiend: Definitely grief. Classic Spider-man style Prince has lost a lot. Between losing his bio family in a car crash, his adoptive mom to thugs and also almost losing someone else he cares about (that's gonna be vague for now while I'm thinking up details) he carries around a lot of grief. He covers it up with snappy one liners and dumb vine quotes but deep down he's hurting :[

Prince being weak to salt I can't 💀💀💀

How does he fucking flavor his food. I can't imagine how miserable that must be.

LMAO SEE I WAS THINKING ABOUT THAT 😭

At first it made sense to me cause you know salt is like used in exorcisms in various religions and pop culture (I believe it originates in Buddhism?) But then I thought how tf is this man gonna eat anything. There's like salt in literally everything. This man is dying 😭

So I think he still has a weakness to salt but how it works is

1) he has a lower salt tolerance than an average human. He can still eat salty foods but he has to be careful otherwise he can get sick. This doesn't stop him 💀

2) it only truly hurts him once it comes into contact with his skin. If he gets salt on his skin it'll burn it real bad depending on how much salt like a second or third degree burn. Because he has enhanced regeneration it's not too threatening but like it will hurt. Depending on the degree of the burn it will take anything from an hour to a day to heal 💀

Anyway all that aside I finally have a solid design for my Spidersona :] it's kinda simple but I'm pretty happy with it, I think it fits the name.

14. Do they have a hard time opening up to people?

They sure do LOL! He's very much the kind of guy to take on everything by himself and rarely ever asks for help. He's currently the only superhero in his universe so it really is him against the rest of the villains. I think as he matures he gets better at it but he's not that great 💀

27. Has a chance encounter ever had an unexpected effect on them?

Honestly not too sure about this. I guess you could count the canon event? Considering that the chance encounter with the thugs caused May to die and drove him to become a protector to the city. Other than that I'm not sure 🤔

39. Would they ever crash a wedding?

This is a hilarious question LMAO I don't think he would (weddings aren't really his thing ig) but I think it's definitey happened by accident💀kinda like in the middle of a fight a villain might chuck him into a wedding venue 💀💀💀

Alternate; Spider-Fiend 2099?

So. Might have gotten a little carried away. Also consider this a Spider-Fiend reveal because I'm like 99% sure I've never posted his design anywhere:

OG on the left, 2099 Variant on the right.

I actually think a 2099 variant would be super interesting - because I think he'd still have an organic suit that Mordred (demon buddy the name is definitely going to change) gave him.

All his villains and some allies too would probably have really high tech suits so when a villain goes to hack his suit he just starts laughing because he's immune to any of that. I think the themes of technology vs nature (if you want to call demon stuff nature) would be a really cool topic to explore :]

Few notes on the 2099 design:

Even though it's an organic suit, it has a neon light glow effect. This is so that he blends in better with the overall environment - as I imagine his city (I forget the name 💀) would have a lot of neon lights. And yes it is Tron inspired.

The webs he would shoot would be that same neon purple.

The logo didn't turn out too well admittedly (there are few things I want to fix but for a first pass I'm happy with this) but it's supposed to be the same as the one on the left just sleeker and has less detail.

The horns and tail don't actually glow.

I feel like he'd be a bit more serious in Universe 805 - 2099 (temporary name) and so his eyes would be less expressive than his original variant (similar to how Miguel is a little less expressive in the movie)

This actually applies to both variants but Fiend tends to go out at night a lot more hence the dark designs. I also in general prefer when spiderman designs are more on the simple side (think venom spiderman) so that's why both only have two colours (black and purple)!

Black and purple are his colours because a) black = blends in more at night and in general is more intimidating and b) purple = not a colour found a lot in nature so it fits his otherworldly demon powers. I also like purple.

I know a spiderman variant with a tail might be a bit weird but it adds to the silhouette and gives him more of a demonic vibe overall imo!

Oh yeah because I love Pokemon AUs I was thinking about what partner Pokemon Riku would have and as much as I wanna give him like Charizard or Garchomp (I think he'd have a Garchomp but it wouldn't be his partner), the best partner for him is Urshifu, Rapid Strike Style specifically.

Who is this mordred you speak of, tell me tell me tell me

Yeah sure thing thank you for showing interest eheh

So I actually have two OCs named Mordred! I actually really love the name I've been thinking of adding it to my list of names you can call me but I digress. I think I've mentioned both of them on the blog before but one of them is a Persona and the other is a demon.

The Persona Mordred is the Mordred I meant when I tagged that other post as Mordred. He is Riku's Black Mask Persona (his Loki essentially) and he is based on the Mordred from Arthurian Legends. For those who don't know he's seen as either King Arthur's son or nephew depending on the version of the tale. In some portrayals he's seen as a bastard who was planning to overthrow his uncle/father for his own gain but in other interpretations he's seen as more of a sympathetic character who was manipulated against Arthur. For the Persona I keep it kinda ambiguous which Mordred I mean deliberately because I think it's more interesting that way :] Design wise he's actually my favorite Persona I've designed (Lugh is close though) and you guys have seen his old design! He's a huge black/purple dragon, more serpentine but with a humanesque torso and arms, and he has parts of his skeleton exposed. He does have his own version of call of chaos but I won't talk about that because it's sort of spoilers? It's also a bit gross. I adore Mordred so much because he is based on a) my love of monsters/fucked up creatures and b) his design philosophy? He's supposed to be fear personafied (see what I did there hehe) and also he's based off of the idea that the part of you that's angry at the world is the part of you that loves you the most. I read that idea somewhere and as someone who's struggled with my own anger it is just such a powerful concept to me idk I love it. And as for story wise very simply put: Riku awoke to him in the Metaverse when he was 14ish but only after he got sent back in time after the thieves failed the Hatanaka palace deadline in the original timeline... if that makes sense (Black Captain is a NG+ AU of sorts...)

Then for the other Mordred I plan on talking more about him soon because he is part of my Spidersona lore! Basically he's a prince of Hell (or demon dimension I haven't ironed out all those details yet) and he possessed a genetically enhanced spider that died after a failed OckTech experiment (three guesses who owns OckTech). He had the spider bite Prince Parker (me kinda) and then proceeded to make a deal with him. He would become a sort of patron for Prince (grant him extra powers outside of the spider stuff) and in return Prince helps him round up demons that have escaped hell. These demons will appear as either like small time demons that are easy enough to recapture or some are my own universe's classic Spiderman villains (Green Goblin and Lizard for example). I suppose the whole pact thing is similar to warlocks in DND (I don't play dnd but I know that's a thing). I'll go into this in more detail in the Spiderfiend post but every time Mordred grants me a new power there is a catch, and Spiderfiend wears a ring every time a new power is granted (the ring can't be removed its a symbol of the pact if you get me). Personality wise he's very serious about his position and doesn't like abusing his power. He is however a bit of a dumbass - for example the reason he had the spider bite Prince, is because he through Prince was like a human prince 💀

21- What’s the closest call you’ve had to having your identity revealed?

Spider-Fiend: you know that is a good question... I don't think had any close calls? I mean Gwen knows who I am but that was less a close call and more me being an idiot and getting caught...

54- Which of your gadgets do you use the most?

Spider-Fiend: Does demon magic count as gadgets? I suppose the only gadget I really use is a radio lol.

60- Is there any particular spell or artifact that you think is the most useful?

Spider-Fiend: Fire fists baby 😎 although I guess my spectral arms also come in handy when I need more than two hands to solve a problem lol.

We've heard a lot about Spider-Fiend and his enemies, but what about his friends and allies?

I'm in a Spider-Fiend mood so lets go.

OK so admittedly I haven't put much thought into this - mostly because designing/thinking about his enemies has so much potential BUT I have at least 4 definite ones at the moment! This is not including any Spiders from the Spider Society - although he tends to get ignored by a lot of them... because he kinda unsettles them. Spectacular Spiderman, Spiderman Unlimited and Spidersman are some of the variants in particular he gets along with! (Along with a certain Webslinger variant and Spider-Noble 👀)

I'll keep them kinda brief but here they are:

Mordred/Cavalcante: OK the name is still pending BUT this is Fiend's main ally - the demon who turned him into Spider-Fiend in the first place. I'm doing a slight clean up of his lore but basically he is a demon who is found of humanity and is helping Fiend stop the demons wrecking havoc in Dubrooklin.

Gwen Stacy: Oh boy Gwen. Gwen has been Prince's best friend since they were kids, they do everything together. For a while she was the only person who knew Fiend's identity and helped him out in her own way (mostly collecting intel and such). However in typical Gwen Stacy fashion something very bad happens to her towards the end of the Mysterio arc. She doesn't die... and she does get a happy ending so to speak... but you know :]

Rose Jane Watson: The MJ of Prince's universe! Like Gwen, her and Prince have been close since their early teen years and eventually they became girlfriends :] Yes she is based off my gf :]

Nero. From Devil May Cry. Yes Devil May Cry is canon to Fiend's universe. They clashed when they first met but once Nero learnt that Fiend is also trying to stop these demons from causing havoc they join forces and end up as good friends! It is MY Spidersona's universe and I can be silly :]

And that's all the main ones for now!! Black Cat (name pending) is also another person who could be considered an ally... but she likes to screw Fiend over sometimes so she doesn't really count. Depends on the day.

Admittedly I haven't thought too much about this aspect outside of Fiend's demon companion but this ask has got my mind going eheh. I am thinking of adding in other superheros too such as The Defenders but I am trying to keep it as close to only Spiderman stuff as possible - just based on personal premise.

AAAA thanks prince!! I had a lot of fun wasting time at work writing Webslinger's bio and as you may have noticed I've been on an X-Men kick recently lol

I didn't take the mutant thing out of nowhere tho! I originally planned it for Neon (his power was going to be glowing or light based powers) but I figured it would make more sense for glowing powers to originate from a radioactive spider so I moved that bit to Webslinger.

Also Nate's friends, James and Henry were taken from Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow which was an old hyperfixation of mine. In the original movie, James is Captain America and Black Widow's son but in Earth-6283 he's Captain America's great-grandson (Steve didn't get frozen in this world so he and Peggy had kids after WW2). Henry is Hope's twin brother and Antman and Wasp's kid! Pretty much unchanged from the movie tho.

And ahhh ok that makes sense with the X-Men stuff 🤔 it's honestly pretty cool!! iirc spiderman teams up with the X-Men at some point in the comic so it's cool to see here he joins them!!!

And nice!!! I haven't seen that show or the latest ant man movies so my knowledge was a bit rusty on who some of the friends were but that's honestly super cool I love them all,,,
