Oh no, audio troubles. And it looks like they wanna start with the live section. Hope they figure it out soon. Seems like they managed to fix the issue. At least I’m hearing some BGM...XD For some reason I was expecting Wakana to sing with Yuuka. But she starts the live section by herself

Live Corner

1. Yureru Haru: Unfortunately quite shaky. Not my favourite performance of the song. I feel like she is always a bit nervous in the beginning of events like this. Shin’s piano arrangement is beautiful though XD MC: She is talking about her album. Seems like she is still in the recording stage and also writing lyrics. 2. Flag: Still a bit shaky but definitely better. At the end she got quite fierce, loved it. Really enjoying those piano versions a lot. Shin has done a great job arranging them. MC: Yuuka joins Wakana for the live section after all. But apparently she is singing by herself...Interesting. Meh...I hope we’ll get a collab too. I am not a fan of her as a solo artist. 3. Inside Your Heart: A FJ Yuuka song by Yuki Kajiura. Don’t think I’ve ever heard it before. Very YK-esque. Okay I guess but I just can’t bring myself to like her voice 4. Colours of the Wind (Pocahontas): Ohhh, I LOVE the song. And Yuuka’s version is actually really good. Her voice is too cutesy for a proper ooomph factor but it kinda works. *sobs* Wish Wakana had joined her for this. MC: Aww, Wakana was brought to tears by Yuuka’s performance. And yes, we are finally getting a collab. 5. Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta nara (Ghibli): Not my preferred Ghibli choice but it certainly works for Yuuka’s voice. Wakana is trying to make her voice match Yuuka’s cutesy singing style. Doesn’t quite work in my opinion T_T But towards the end their harmonising got better.

Talk Corner

Wakana sings “Happy Birthday” for Yuuka and staff members bring out a fancy cake. And a present by Wakana from beauty brand “Officine Universelle Buly”. Cute how Wakana tries to read the French birthday greeting. XD It’s a hand creme, a cute lid and a gorgeous comb with Yuuka’s name engraved on it. Wakana has a white one for herself. Apparently it was recommended by Aimer who has the same comb as well. They reflect about their early days together from 20 years ago. Some lovely anecdotes about fancy parasols and green pea soup. Wakana’s current favourite food is kimchi, nori and cheese. She also loves nuts and prosciutto. Now Wakana does some Zelda fangirling. She has recently been into the game. Wakana outs herself as heavy drinker XD. No, just kidding. She talks a lot about all her favourite liqueurs. They are thinking about having some fancy wine for their next event. Wakana wants a camera for vlogging. Or at least a gimbal. Yes please! I love Hikaru’s vlogs, I am sure Wakana would make interesting vlogs too.

4th Anniversary since my Solo Debut〜February 6！〜

Everyone! Today, on February 6th, I was able to celebrate my 4th anniversary as a solo artist! \\\\٩( 'ω' )و //// I owe this achievement to all of you who always support me. Thank you very much. I made a little video featuring some thoughts about the current me and my future (*'▽'*) So today, please enjoy this VLOG-like video♪

Note: Ahhh, it’s so nice to see a fan club video from Wakana after such a long time. And I LOVE that we are getting some behind the scenes footage of the album production. That studio looked amazing. However, it seems like the production isn’t as far ahead as I had hoped. The mastering that took place the other day wasn’t actually for the album itself but for something else. This is what Wakana is referring to in the little snippet I am posting here (towards the end of the video). She says that she is allowed to reveal a tiny bit of information. Apparently the album will come with a special kind of tokuten (benefit/bonus content). She can’t say too much but it will be video & audio which is why they had to do some mastering. She is super excited for everyone to see it. Pretty sure this is footage from her Christmas Live. I mean, what else would it be.

Today is March 3rd, Hinamatsuri. I didn't do anything special to celebrate but last week when I celebrated my niece's birthday, we all made hand-rolled sushi together(^-^) I tried hand-rolled sushi for the first time in a long time~(*´-`) With all the rolling I was trying really hard not to forget to add cucumbers. Cucumbers add a really nice accent and they are so delicious...😍 Also, shiso leaves are a must for me...😍💕

Since it's Hinamatsuri, I'd like to show you the video I mentioned last time (although it’s not at all related to Hinamatsuri)

This time, I wanted to provide a "little sneak peek of the album production", so the video is actually very short ^^;💦Sorry. But I think you can get a feel for the overall atmosphere... Note: Please be careful as the volume is really high😳💦This is more or less how the recording is progressing ･:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+ For the time being, I wanted to film different sceneries from the recording so I brought the camera with me into the booth every single time. I also wanted to show you the catering provided for all of us so I filmed some random onigiris. There is no deeper meaning behind that footage 🤣 I want to share even the smallest things with you so I think short videos like this are a lot of fun (*´-`) I wonder if it will be enough to satisfy your curiosity? Was it enough to give you a good idea of the recording process...? 😊

Hello dear Sarah, I hope you are feeling very well ☺️ I was wondering if by any chance you will have on audio all the covers that Wakana has done in her concerts, such as the covers that she sings at the live music party? Thanks in advance

Hello there! Sorry for the late reply. It took me a while to muster up the necessary motivation to collect all of Wakana's covers and put them into a single folder. Wakana has done quite a lot of covers throughout the years and while I do have audios for all of them, they are scattered across several folders and two different Google Drives. I didn't wanna forget about anything so I carefully worked my way through my Wakana content. Hopefully the list is complete now. If anyone notices that something is missing, please let me know! Also, please be aware that I am only including full covers here. Wakana has done various short covers on Instagram and her fan club videos but I wouldn't add them to this collection.

Sono Saki he on “GO!サイン” Day！〜3rd Album Release on May 31st〜

Everyone! As announced last week, the release date for my 3rd album "Sono Saki he" has finally been decided! \(^o^)/ May 31st! It's May 31st! Let's try to remember the date as "GO!SA-IN" day! ! 5-3-1! GO! SA! IN!

I briefly talked about my feelings regarding this album in short comment section  which was included in all the social media announcements. First and foremost I wanted this album to feel like we are “heading toward the future together”. As long as we are alive, we are always moving forward. No matter how sad or painful things are, time won’t stop or wait for us, we can’t stand still. If there are people who feel loneliness in such a time, I want them to remember that they are not alone. I want to make the kind of music that always stays by your side. Right now, I'm wokring on this album with the help of many people, including Satoshi Takebe. In order for you to see a new Wakana, we will continue to carefully work on the final details of the album, so please be patient a little while longer!😊✨I want to share my music and feelings with everyone as soon as possible! I can't wait for that day😍

[First Press Limited Edition A] First of all, we have the first press limited edition A which will include a bonus DVD with 86 minutes worth of footage from the concert "Wakana Classics 2022~Christmas Special~"!･:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+ Honestly, I am so eager for you to watch it! You really need to see it!😂😂 It’s just amazing! *laughs* The footage perfectly captures the feeling of trust among us, the joy of sharing music with the audience, the beauty and acoustics of the venue. Truly the best! Please be sure to watch it! ! 

[First Press Limited Edition B] This  version comes with an LP sized cover (it's huge!). As bonus content you get a CD with the songs from the concert♪ There’s also a big photo booklet and a poster😊

[Reguar Edition] The lyric booklet contains different photos for each and every version, Including this regular one, so please look forward to that as well😍💕 

Furthermore, the track "Flag", which is scheduled to be included in the album, has been released digitally! On the Wakana YouTubve Channel you can watch snippets of this song being performing during the Christmas Live last year, so please check out the videoヽ(´▽｀)/♪ The whole thing will be available on the first press limited edition A! \\\٩( 'ω' )و //// It’s a shame that I can’t share the full album with you yet but at least I have finally been able to tell you the details about the release date and the different formats, as well as the release of "Flag"＼(^o^)／

Thank You for Watching！〜Songs, Cake, Laughter and Tears〜

Two weeks ago, on March 25th, I held my “Wakana Spring Shark Festival Vol.2 ~Talk & Mini Live~”! And I invited Yuuka Nanri as guest♡ The theme behind the event was basically a birthday celebration for Yuuka. The cake was delicious (*'▽'*) An entire shortcake like that really feels special so it’s great♡ And once again, there was a problem with the live stream...! (T-T) Right at the beginning there was no sound... (T-T) I'm really sorry to everyone who watched it in real time. When the live stream starts, there is always a slight time lag so I will check the mic until the staff gives the OK. But this time I didn’t get an OK 😳 I was wondering what issue it could be....But everyone's comments were steadily coming in so I thought you were all able to hear and see me which is why I decided to start talking about some random stuff😂😂 Then I realised that there was a big problem with the audio and I was like, “oh no!” ( ; ; )

I was talking about watching Japan win the WBC while waiting for an appointment at the chiropractic clinic but alas, no one was able to hear that. However, I did get some comments saying, "I don't know what you're saying, but your body language is amazing" *laughs*, Anyways, I'm really sorry for making you wait so long at the beginning ( ; ; ) 

After that, we were able to start streaming without any issues! (all the staff did their best!!) We started the event with a mini live! First of all, I wanted to sing something spring related so the first song was "Yureru Haru"＼(^-^)／I had Shin-san play the piano for me many times before but I think it was the first time we performed this song together. I feel like we all have my collabs with Sakai Yurie-chan engraved in our memory☆😉I wonder if Yurie-chan is doing well in Hokkaido~♪(^^) For the second song, I chose "Flag", which will be included in my 3rd album "Sono Saki he", set to be released on May 31st! It was the first time for me singing it with just a piano as accompaniment so I was wondering how it would turn out, but as expected of Shin-san, he created a truly powerful arrangement…😳✨ Then it was time to pass the baton to Yuu-chan.She sang a the FJY song “inside your heart" and “Colors of the Wind” from Disney's Pocahontas! Wow, she is really amazing...😭She talks with such an elegant voice but the moment she starts singing, there is so much dignity in every breath...✨ Each word becomes a sound and sinks into your heart, making you feel nostalgic and warm. I mean, you’ll basically end up crying😂😂Tears are inevitable!😭It seems like everyone felt the same way! (I was reading your comments in the archived version and from what I could tell, you all started crying too *laughs*) And at the end, we sang "Yasashisa ni Tsutsumareta nara" together♪ Singing various melodies is truly fun♪(^_^) You can feel the infinite possibilities of adding colour to your voice! 

In the talk corner that followed, we invited everyone to ask questions in the comments while also trying to dedicate some time to questions that had been asked in the previous event. I honestly wasn't able to follow the comments properly, and everyone was asking quite a lot of questions!😂 You really had a lot of questions...Next time, I will try to answer some more! *laughs* I guess the number of unanswered questions will continue to increase~😂 There was also some discussion about the content of future broadcast events. What would you like me to do during the next shark festival? Some people suggested a tea party some sort of mukbang with gourmet food. I thought both sounded really interesting! So, let's invite Yuu-chan again and do a "Gourmet Mukbang / Tea Party" someday! \\\\٩( 'ω' )و //// Sounds like so much fun! Thank you all for watching! 25 Days Till My Livestream! ~ Rice is Truly Amazing ~

The other day, I suddenly had a very rare craving. I wanted to eat pancakes for breakfast. And then I found the ideal pancake mix! This is my new favourite (´ω｀) The rice flour mix makes the pancakes a bit sticky and very delicious, truly amazing!! (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o))) I sprinkled plenty of butter and maple syrup on top of the freshly made pancakes and literally devoured them! ٩( 'ω' )و And then on the left side of the picture, you can see a pasta that I have been using for a very long time (^-^) After sautéing onions with some tuna and mushrooms, I add a bit of Japanese-style dashi and voila, I’ve got a perfect pasta dish. If you use something other than rice for your daily meals, your world will expand dramatically (naturally)!

On a side note, I really want a steam oven and an electric cooking pot! I did a lot of research but there are so many different types that I don't really understand what they are supposed to so for the time-being I've stopped looking into it 😂😂 It's really hard to figure out what works best for you. I'll worry about it again someday...🥺

Let’s Do Another Winter Shark Festival This Year！！〜It’s the Season to Meet Angels〜

Last month, I wrote about my days enjoying concerts, this time I went to see some more concerts and a stage play! (*'▽'*) This is the play I went to! [Trap For a Lonely Man] I received an invitation from the director Minoru Nosaka, who I know from work😊

“A mysterious woman turns up claiming to be the protagonist’s wife”

This is basically the gist of the play, I’d rather not say more about it but I was really drawn into the world right from the beginning. I had no idea what was real, who was telling the truth and who was lying, I was questioning everything  from the beginning to the end. (´･_･`) The actors' conversations, actions and expressions were all immaculate, the production design felt extremely somber and serious throughout the play. Even after it ended, I couldn’t stop thinking about it😂 I felt like I was shown a full-fledged mystery. Truly a gripping story for everyone who loves good mysteries! ! Even so, I couldn’t stop wondering how anyone was able to memorise all those lines ... So many fancy and elaborate dialogues. The live feeling of a stage play performance is quite addictive😳

Bonus pictures! I had some Vietnamese food before the play! Fresh spring rolls, banh mi, and pho! It was so delicious!

And at the end of the month, I went to see this concert Yo Hitoto's 20th Anniversary Live🥰 The first thing that struck me when I got to see Yo Hitoto's worldview unfold on stage was that all her singing, acting, and writing seemed very natural and organic. I felt like she was trying to tell us that this day was nothing extraordinary, instead, every day was a series of special events. Every word spoken, every fascinating movement, every little detail, it’s all natural and real. However, the production was so full of splendor that it was as if we were looking straight into Yo Hitoto's mind. One could really feel the span of her career during this concert, it was truly lovely to be able to listen to various memories along with many songs from the past 20 years.

Last but not least, a nice anecdote in relation to birthdays... The day before yesterday, my grandfather turned 100 years old! ! \\\\٩( 'ω' )و //// That's amazing, isn’t??!! 😳😳My grandfather is very good at singing Yōkyoku, his voice is truly beautiful😂When I met him two years ago, I was surprised that his voice still sounds great🤣🤣I am happy to see my grandpa always in such good health, it's wonderful to be able to age so energetically! I will do my best too!! ! \(^o^)/

Note: I will try my best to do a live commentary/first reaction kind of thing so this post will be updated as the day goes by. I really hope they have fixed the streaming problems they had last time with the Spring Shark Festival. It worked fine once they got it working but it took quite a while to get there. They don’t have that luxury today since there is an on-site audience, it’s pretty much impossible to delay the performance should any streaming issues arise. On a side note, I am keeping my expectations low as far as the audio-quality is concerned but we will see, maybe it’s good. Without further ado, let’s get to it!

Live Commentary

Okay, it’s about to start, there are some weird noises in my headphones but it’s manageable. Otherwise, it works totally fine! I think they fixed the weird noise issue for the evening performance. Haven’t heard it yet. Video/stream-quality is perfect for me (no freeze so far), they have a few different angles which I appreciate. A bit of shaky-cam here and there but nothing too bad. I feel like they improved quite a bit on the camera work for the evening performance. Sound is also surprisingly good.

Setlist

Happy Hello Day: The atmosphere is already so nice, everyone is clapping enthusiastically. I love it! The arrangement with piano and guitar is perfect for this song. Poor Wakana forgot the lyrics though so they had to start again. Awww, so precious, I wanna cuddle her already! Loved the “lalala” at the end! No mistakes for her night performance. Everything went smoothly. I feel like the atmosphere is a bit more toned down compared to the day performance.

瑠璃色の空 / Ruriiro no Sora (DAY): Okay, I have never really liked this song but this acoustic version is actually pretty nice. I may have actually become a fan! :P Thank you Wakana, for this beautiful rendition. Hard Rain (NIGHT): YESSSSS! So much win! While I didn’t mind this version of Ruriiro no Sora, I MUCH prefer Hard Rain.

ひらりひらり / Hirari Hirari: Not my favourite of the “magic moment” album but I really enjoy listening to the live version like this.

442: OMG, I am already blown away! This IS SO GOOD!!!! The live version (especially with this acoustic arrangement) is a REVELATION, everyone needs to listen to it! I am so glad we are also getting this on the Blu-ray this summer!

Talk Corner: Awww, once again Wakana embarrasses herself by introducing her host Bunta Nagamatsu with the wrong name. Seeing her this flustered is super cute but on the other hand, I feel sorry for her T_T They are answering some of the simple/casual questions that fan club members were able to submit in advance. It was interesting to find out that she stretches for quite a long of them a few hours before a live and that she carries pretty much all of her belongings in her bag on a performance day XD Will be summarising them properly once we get the archived version. They are using different questions for the evening performance! YAY! At the end they are demonstrating their kendama skills but Wakana fails to catch the ball the first two times but then on the third try, SUCCESS! She is so happy! At the evening performance she looked like she pulled a muscle doing the trick but yay, she managed to catch the ball on her first try

海を見ていた午後 / Umi wo miteita gogo: Yuming-cover chosen for Takebe-san due to a connection. They picked this song because it features places in Yokohama (today’s live is taking place in Yokohama). Too short but very nice. Not a particularly big fan of the voice she uses for the song though.

アイノカタチ / Ai no Katachi: Misia-cover chosen for Ishinari-san due to a connection. His guitar playing is actually featured in the original recording of the song. Wakana also sang this in one of her fan club videos (where she did her nails). Wahhhh, I am in love!! Such a beautiful cover! This hit me right in the feels, even more so the second time around! *bursts into tears*

I have a dream: Kalafina-cover chosen for Wakana due to a connection. *sobs* Ahhhhhh, this is beautiful. I have no words. Not all Kalafina songs work as a solo song but this one certainly does. Wakana nailed it!! That Kajiura-go part!! Btw, random question for everyone who has been watching the stream, where is that drum/percussion-like sound coming from? It’s noticable in almost all songs but it’s obviously not coming from the piano or guitar. Just curious since I am not an expert on that kind of stuff so I wouldn’t know what tools they have to create this sort of sound without an actual drum set or whatever. Thanks to @sa-nyan for replying, it is INDEED Ishinari using some sort of pedal.

翼 / Tsubasa: Oh wow, already digging the acoustic arrangement. Can I just say how much I appreciate it that Wakana has two super talented and passionate musicians on her side. She deserves to be accompanied by the best. This is one of Wakana’s oldest solo songs so you can tell she is very sure of herself, no hesitation whatsoever, just powerful vocals. Perfection!

恋はいつも / Koi wa Itsumo: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! You all know this is one of my faves so I couldn’t be happier!! Wakana showing the audience how to clap :P SO CUTE! I can’t clap in rhythm for the life of me so I am kinda glad I am not there to embarrass myself :P Too bad the audience was able to sing along this time (probably because of COVID regulations). A little lyric slip-up at the beginnging but Wakana dealt with it professionally.

ENCORE: 金木犀 / Kinmokusei: Ohhhhhhh! And another one of my all-time faves!! Such a good setlist!! As always, beautiful!

ENCORE: あとひとつ / Ato hitotsu: Wakana explains the reason why this hasn’t been released on CD yet. She wants it to be a special experience that is reserved for live performances. She feels this exclusivity is nice. The PERFECT ending just like every other time she sings it.

DAY: Wakana is wearing a lovely salmon/orange/pink (?) coloured toga/tunic-sort of dress. She looks so pretty! It’s off-shoulder (always the best look for her!) and there is a white skirt layered underneath. There is also some binding around her waist. her hair is in an elaborate up-do. NIGHT: She changed into a lovely wide blue gown which goes well with the evening flair. Her hair is in a cute high ponytail. She is wearing her clear chain earrings again.

During the first MC of the day performance Wakana is already getting carried away talking about this and that so Takebe-san has to remind her they are on a tight schedule. XD At the end of the live Wakana announced an online release event for her Blu-ray. It’s gonna take place on August 21. The after-talk is now available. They filmed it after the evening performances answering a few more fan questions.

Live commentary& summary

Wakana looks super cute with her bangs in motion, she is wearing a gorgeous yellow dress. The intro was hilarious. Still not sure if this was on purpose or not, sounded like a mixture of having inhaled too much helium and a light tempo increase. Some fans are assuming it’s supposed to sound like shark noises but I am not so sure. I think it was an accident because they have now turned the stream off to presumably fix the issue. We shall see...Either way, Wakana was hella cute. How come they never test those things before going live? :P Poor Wakana must be stressing over this like crazy. The video still hasn’t returned.

Now we got a new broadcast link....Interesting. Still not working though. YAY! FINALLY!! Wakana says that this will be the first of many fan club live stream events. BANZAI!! Yurie-chan made a bracelet for Wakana. How cute is that!? We are starting with the live section.

Now they are talking about March and what kind of things they associate with this month. They mention hinamatsuri, graduation and of course the weather :P

4) 3月9日 (Sangatsu Kokonoka): Ahhh, I loved 1 Litre of Tears. Such a beautiful song. Happy to hear Wakana cover it. 5) Happy Hello Day: Always such a joy to hear and see her sing this song. Can’t wait till I get to see it performed at a venue.

LOL, NOW that explains the afros in the picture Wakana posted on her blog. They were hiding cute little shark hats. Wakana and Yurie have officially turned into sharks to sing their very own shark song, “Spring Shark”. Yup, you heard right, they are attempting to write a shark song and are asking us for lyric suggestions. They are having a blast. Even Spielberg made it into the lyrics, haha. Now they are actually doing a recording for the finished song XD

Now we have a lottery. Two people can win a signed polaroid, one person can win her little shark plates with a signature. And the best prize for sure: One lucky fan gets the chance to visit an aquarium together with Wakana in the future (maybe next year?)!!! OMG!! EDIT: Sorry, I totally misunderstood the phrasing of this prize (apparently some Japanese fans did too). Anyway, the prize wasn’t to go and catch a shark WITH her, it was Wakana catching a shark FOR the winner (by herself).

It’s the Bitfan ticket number (the last or the first few numbers). I don’t know if I won anything. Took me forever to figure out which number they meant.
