Favorite kind of weather?
Candace likes nice, sunny weather in the springtime!
Pietro likes it when it’s cloudy and grey, but not rainy.
Bugsy Bethany and Catalina surprisingly love the bitter, cold weather. Their shared favorite drink is hot cocoa, and you can’t drink that when it’s hot out.
Dastron likes it when it’s almost unbearably hot. He’s technically his own boss, so he gets to work on his cars in the sun and take breaks whenever he wants. He has sports drinks for electrolytes and such. It’s also the perfect weather to stop by Candace’s place for ice cream.
Maximoff, on the other end, enjoys the wintry cold weather, especially in late fall-early winter. He likes the way the building look in a snowstorm and watching the semi-frozen ocean moving is oddly soothing to him.
Harry has grown a love for hot, summer weather, because that usually means Freya is out of school and he doesn’t have to worry about her safety. Freya also enjoys summer because she’s out of school and doesn’t have to worry about homework. Plus she gets to hang out with her cool dad who gets her ice cream like every other day.
Felix likes rainy days, because people usually want to be inside as much as possible, giving him more of an opportunity to sweet-talk some more people into whatever scheme he’s got at the time.
Jade & Jayd love the snow! They go sledding and build snow-people and have snowball wars. Think Calvin and Hobbes.
Levi likes the rain- not being out in it, but being inside while the rain hits the windows and the low, distant rumbles of thunder can be heard.
Riker loves summer heat- the wind from riding his motorcycle as a fast as he can go feels nice enough that getting hot and sweaty while he works and fights is worth it to him.
Robinson likes the cold because he absolutely loves to make soup, and cold weather is soup weather. Phil likes the cold as well because husband warm and soft.
Calvin likes the sunny early-spring days where the leaves on the trees haven’t completely come back just yet, but everything is still new. The trees in the park have pink flowers that he really likes- he sits under them and gets covered in the petals.
Circuit loves heavy thunderstorms, because he likes the sound of rain while he works, but also if he ends up sleepwalking out of the house the rain will almost always wake him up immediately.
Skell likes the hot weather- he’s half fire elemental, heat doesn’t bother him as much. He also can’t get a sunburn, so he doesn’t have to worry about much.
Stratos likes it when it’s humid- he doesn’t feel so weak and light on those days. He can change the weather of his immediate surroundings if he concentrates hard enough- but it takes a lot of energy out of him.
Randall likes mid to late autumn weather, when the leaves are starting to fall, there’s a slight nip in the air, and football season is starting. Plus, the cold weather lets him stay a bit more solid than usual and he doesn’t have to worry about leaving a mess of himself.
Beta and Audrey both like rainy days and Audrey will often just go out in the rain (Beta can’t because phone, but she uses an umbrella)
Danny and Duna like hot summer weather. It’s the perfect weather for hanging out on the beach, which is where both of them work essentially. They hate and dread the winter cold.
Copper likes the rain and humid weather. Like Skell, he’s part elemental- but his mother was a Water elemental. He loves watching kids splash in puddles and he’s the type of guy to pick up the worms and put them back in the grass, plus having it be humid out or raining gives him a leg up in brawls.
Robert likes average sunny days when his commute to work is easier- but he also likes the rain, his lawn really needs it.
Sousa likes days where it’s nice enough so he can walk to his clubs, hobbies, classes and activities. He’s not opposed to a good snowy day, though.
👁 likes it when everyone is suffering, either extreme hot or cold. Once, in the summer, he almost got a kid to trade their soul for a sno cone that would supposedly give the kid ice powers- but his mom found out and he had to hide

Early Spring Morn
Early-Spring Morn
The morning creeps in on an early-spring morn
Icicles drip-drop, they melt, now weak and well-worn
Sun fighting; so brilliant, after asleep for such time
The birds hailing the springtime, in their delightful, sweet chime
Yet once again frost finds its way to the window
Birds pleading their love song from a lone, farm-house spindle
Clouds furious, raging, devouring more
Sno…

Snow Be Gone
Back in the late 50s, my father worked for the South Bend (Indiana) Street Department, driving trucks, plowing streets, and cleaning up after accidents (uck!). They used to use a front end loader to load the snow into dump trucks, then dump the snow into the St. Joseph River. After awhile, it was discovered that the snow contained oil and other chemicals…oops…so then they started dumping into a field, until the owner complained about that, too!
In the late 60s, my father was head of maintenance for Town and Country Shopping Center. At first, they just liked the snow around light poles, then a deal was worked out with Bethel College (located right across the street) so the snow would be dumped in one of their fields. He told me that in the springtime, he had to go over with his front loader and retrieve some parking curbs that got scooped up with the snow…eventually, they started liking it in a far corner of the shopping center, letting it sit until it melted.
They had a front loader and dump truck (both used city equipment), a pick-up truck with a plow, and a little pick-up called an International Scout (think Toyota RAV 4 or Ford Escape) with Sno-star written on the side. It had a plow, and 4 wheel drive, small enough to plow the sidewalks! I remember the long nights they had, sometimes working from 6pm until daylight…gotta keep the lot plowed!!

Season Finale (Saturday)
As the spring warms up, SNO will partner with the Choir of St. David's Episcopal Church, led by Dr. Douglas Buchanan, for Bach's Cantata No. 147, Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben ("Heart and mouth and deed and life"). Hailed by the Baltimore Sun as "remarkable" and "offering admirable variety and depth of repertoire," the St. David's Choir offers a wide range of free events in the beautiful acoustic of the St. David's sanctuary and throughout the city. This special concert is a rare chance to hear "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" in a springtime performance. After this cantata, SNO and CSD will perform our final featured world premiere of the season, a "chamber-choral symphony" by composer Ryan Lindveit. Not to be missed!

Bach, Cantata No. 147, Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben ("Heart and mouth and deed and life")
