I don’t think we as Team Present or Team Future should fear what Team Past winning means for the future Splatoon (as contradictory as that sounds)

Beyond the fact that the final Splatfest only superficially affects the next game (so a certain team winning won’t make or break the game), Team Past isn’t like “Team Octavio/Tartar/Grizz was right” or “Team Let’s Do Another Race War”

I believe that Team Past’s ideology is about using your past experiences and knowledge to help the younger generation. You see it in the lyrics to Three Wishes and in the Squid Sister’s roles as NSS Agents and their friendships with the other idol groups. There’s also an element of sharing cherished memories with another

They are not necessarily clinging to the past, but rather learning from it or looking back on it and saying “that was pretty good huh?”. Those aren’t things that would destroy Splatoon in my opinion but at the same time I’m unsure what it would mean in terms of changing the game.
