Sillery Gaon:
Sillery Gaon, a little village enclosed on all sides by tall pine trees, situated at a distance of around 8 km from Pedong and 5 km from 21 Miles. This tiny hamlet offers exciting great things about mountain chain peaks together with Mount Kanchenjunga. The unknown heroic tale of chirping birds can fill your heart with walking on air. Also, walking through the inexperienced forest roads is itself a thrill to fancy. A lot of alternative rattling spellbinding places are there to awe strike your mind and heart. Let’s have an in-depth look at the places close to Sillery Gaon that you must not miss in your itinerary.
Tinchuley:
Tinchuley is a tiny mountain village in the Darjeeling district. The word Tinchuley means that 3 Ovens And such name to the village has been given attributable to the 3 distinguished hills that surround the place and that from the way appear as if ovens or chullahs. Tinchuley faces the Kalimpong hills.
If you're keen on nature, the stunning views of the Himalayan range of mountains, wish to see the indirect Teesta flow through the mountain landscapes, relish tea gardens, orange orchards, walk-on village trails, look at birds, native culture, individuals, and food, then this can be the proper place for you.

A beautiful village at the hill of Singalila park and having a mountain stream passing through it. A paradise for the character lovers.
You can also walk through the forest of birch, oaks, and pine trees and luxuriate in the atmosphere. there's a watercourse with an equivalent name. Do fishing within the river; there are several trout fish.
Lepchajagat:
Lepchajagat is all about densely wooded space full of pines, oaks, and rhododendrons. and everyone that's combined with glorious views of Kanchenjunga peaks, terrific birdlife, and serene tranquility. thus throughout the daytime, you have interaction with nature in its full bloom, and once the night falls, you sit next to the hearth and skim a book, hear the sounds of crickets from the jungle around or simply recapitulate your day’s expertise as you sip a cup of Darjeeling tea and relax. There are not many outlets to disturb the quietness that you just are craving.
Sitong:
One of the foremost untouched elements of the Darjeeling mountain chain foothills, Sitong may be a treasure nonetheless to be discovered. This tiny picturesque Lepcha village lies may be a depression crisscross by a rill and guarded by lush inexperienced hills. each house in Sitong includes a garden and each garden has orange trees. the entire village turns orange throughout the winter. Visiting Sitong is like time-motion – there’s a bamboo bridge, a church, some winding village ways encircling through orange orchards and few wandering streams, and a rill that the locals like to decide on.

Sandakphu Travel Guide: More Than a Trekker’s Wonderland
If you are an adventurous soul who likes to travel and take up challenges then trekking is something you should try. It is a fun and memorable experience. There are a lot of trekking sites but one of the best is located in Eastern India which is the Sandakphu trek package. A 7-day trek on the mighty Himalayas with some picturesque villages and valleys on the route to the destination. It is a hidden gem that many people are unaware of which makes it one of the best options for exploring.
Table of content:
1. Location
2. About Sandakphu
3. Sites to see on the trek
4. Important tips to note
Location
Sandakphu comes in the Singalila Range and is the highest point in it. It is located in Darjeeling at the West Bengal- Nepal border. The height of the peak is 3665 m, 11,930 ft. from Nepal, it is located in the IIam district. The route to the trek is not very difficult and moderate level trekkers can cover the trek. The Sandakphu trek package is a good option to start your experience as a trekker.
Tumblr media
About Sandakphu
The name Sandakphu literally means ‘Peak of the poison plants’. The nomenclature is based on the growth of some of the species of poisonous plants on the peak. These include the perennial shrub, Aconitum, the roots of which are used for medicinal purposes since times immemorial. The bright purplish-blue flowers and leaves of the plant can be lethally toxic if consumed. The Himalayan Cobra lilies also grow in this region.
The Sandakphu trek is considered one of the most beautiful and yet easy treks because of which it is a must. The beautiful places one gets to visit on the way are an additional perk. The trek is about 47kms and one of the favorites for trekkers. This falls under one of the best options for Himalayan treks. The actual trekking starts from Manebhanjan. The first stop one needs to reach for the trek is New Jalpaiguri.
Sites to see on the trek
Several aesthetically scenic places will come on the way to the peak in the 7-day trek. The beauty of these places is to be relished forever. Some of the places include:
Tumblr media
·         Manebhanjan- This is the starting point of the Sandakphu trek. This serene town has 1960 Land Rovers that take you to the Sandakphu peak.
·         Chitrey- A stunning mountain village that will remind you of the villages from a European town.
·         Tumling- The hamlet provides a picture-perfect location for your stay during the trek.
·         Srikhola- This is one of the most popular places in Darjeeling. The Srikhola River and village are located on the foothills of the Singalila National Park.
·         Lamey Dhura- surrounded by snow-capped mountains and lush greenery, the trek takes the most adventurous turn from this village.
Important tips to note
It can often happen that while planning for our trips and treks we tend to look at everything but forget the tiniest details at times. Some important tips to note for the trek are:
Tumblr media
·         Carry portable chargers and extra camera batteries during your trip.
·         Water scarcity during this trek is a major problem. So make sure to carry wet wipes, sanitizers, and other essentials.
·         Food is extremely costly. The basic of items have sky-rocketing prices.
·         Mobile network is hardly available so you might not be able to use mobile phones.
There are several Sandakphu trek packages that you can choose from that make the trek fun and affordable. The hassle to figure things out also gets reduced and you can have fun without worrying much.

Let me know in comment below if you relate this. . . This location is Srikhola falls on the famous Sandakphu, Phalut trek route, from Sandakphu it is 16 Kms steep downhill trail through the dense forest, and the only village on the way, likely to serve refreshment is a small place called Gurdum. . Srikhola is preferred by most of the trekkers as a place for relaxation after trekking to Sandakphu and Phalut, it is an ideal location for spending some time and explore the beauty of this place. Srikhola – Travel and Stay
Srikhola is a quaint little village in the district of Darjeeling. Trekking routes from Sadakphu and Phalutare there, that pass through Srikhola leading towards Manebhanjan. You can also come here by road from Darjeeling or NJP/Siliguri. From Sandakphu, the trek route is 16 km to Srikhola via Gurdum. From Phalut, you can reach Srikhola via Gorkey and Rammam coveringa 36 km distance through vegetation and fauna of magnolia, oaks, chestnuts and rhododendrons, orchids and many more. Many trekkers on the way from Sandakphu or Phalut prefer to stay overnight at Srikhola for a break. You can sit and enjoy the beautiful and the meandering Srikholariver. Srikhola has a wonderful wooden hanging bridge and offers a beautiful landscape adorned with wooden cottages and vivid flower gardens.  Srikhola is situated at the foothills of Singalila National Park. You can visit the park and see animals like Red Panda, Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer and many more. Consider yourself lucky if you can spot the animals. Walk through forests of various fauna and you can also go for fishing. Shovraj Hotel is the most popular hotel here and they provide fishing gears also. For sightseeing, you can various temples and monasteries in the nearby locations. Visit gardens of cardamom, peas, corn etc. Go on for short trekking tours and visit nearby villages like Rammam village, Timburey&Gurdum village and also the holy lake known as JareaoPokhri. April to May and October to November are the best times to visit Srikhola with little or no rainfall, relatively mild temperature and clear sky. In the winter month of December and January, the temperature drops down to minus degrees. There is a nice GTA (Gorkhaland Territorial Administration) hut located next to Srikhola river. There are few private hotels as well. The best being Hotel Shovraj as mentioned earlier. It is located by the Srikhola riverside and consists of many rooms with attached bathrooms. They are cottages with river facing balconies and restaurants as well. This is the best hotel in Srikhola. Shubhasish Sengupta who is the proprietor and owner of the property are the only Bengali family resident living permanently in the whole of Singalila Himalayan region where Srikhola is located. He has been running the hotel successfully since 2003. The hotel is more like a wooden country house. Tshering Sherpa, a very friendly and a cooperative man runs the budget hotel which is the next good option. The Goparma Lodge has 7 rooms including double, 4 and 5 bedded rooms with attached or common baths. Hot water facilities are provided. Both the hotels organize the local sightseeing tours. There are shared jeep services at two times of the day, from Srikhola. One is at 6 am and the other at around 11:30 am. You can also ask your hotel to book a reserved Jeep. Srikhola is not that popular a mountain hamlet. So do not expect great luxury accommodation over here. The hotels are mainly built for trekkers and budget travellers and offer basic and standard amenities. But as per the natural beauty is concerned, it is less than no other place in the entire Darjeeling district. Read the full article

Greenery returns near Kalapokhri lake, but Autumn season usually brings ochre coloured dry grass and bright red shrubs. The ground is moss-covered, small shrubs scattered everywhere, prayer flags hung from long strings line the lake shore.
