Noted With Thanks
He doesn't get her.
The way she was giggling at his lame pick up lines. He had better. The fact she accepted his rose, didn't he give her one like that yesterday only for her to throw it in the trash?
And how she was giggling acting all flustered and blushing. She wasn't really taking an interest in him, was she?
"What makes him so special?" Itachi and Shisui stopped mid conversation following his gaze. Ah so that was what was making the youngest Uchiha pissed.
The new doctor taking his teammate out. Apparently he was quite the flirt like Sasuke, no wonder he seemed so annoyed.
Well it may be a date, it may not be.
It wasn't any of their business.
"Maybe he flirts better than you?" Shisui shrugged with a smug smile enjoying his torment. "And who knows, he might actually be interested in her."
This caused Sasuke to glare at the man, they knew how serious he was about her.
So it was okay for this guy to flirt around and he can get a date. But if he does it, he gets a punch to the face? How unfair was that?
"You should ask him how he does it, then who knows you might actually get somewhere with Sakura." Itachi scolded Shisui because knowing his brother, he might actually do that.
And sure enough he did, as Shisui found a little note thanking him for the idea.
This wasn't the first time Shisui gave a dumb idea to Sasuke (without meaning to) nor would it be the last.
And as for the plan succeeding... let's not go there.

household essentials
1–
Sarada was used to the hustle and bustle of their home even though growing up it was just mostly her and her mama.
Now that's she's an adult, the house was never quiet either, but what throws her a little off balance is that it's her papa filling the silence.
He seemed so different but still so gentle and patient with her. Mama used to joke that papa's quiet because he's still growing into his tongue. Papa would glare at mama halfheartedly, and she would grin. He'd shake his head and smirk with a low muttering of 'annoying'.
What an odd couple. How could that one word means so much to them?
'Annoying.'
Then she remembers that her parents had a life before her, one filled with pain, sacrifices, and war. That one word encompasses their history and everything they had to get through to where they are.
"I'm leaving for my mission, Papa!"
He comes to the door and sees her off, like he did every day without fail.
"Have a great day, Sarada. I love you."
She still gets flustered when papa does this! She was an adult, not some kind going off to the academy, but she understands.
She meets the Hokage and before official business he'd always ask, "How's Sasuke doing?"
And she'd say same old, same old. He'll wake up, prepare breakfast, see her off, talk to mama, clean, read scrolls, talk to mama some more, and more chores.
"Still afraid of the silence, huh?"
She'd nod, and they'd let the conversation sit between them. This would be the part when one of them confesses to the other.
"I think he just misses her."
"We all do, Sarada." He wasn't wrong. In the haze of the morning, she'd still sometimes to open the door and rush her into her routines, just so she won't be late, but her father bears a heavier cross.
She shakes her head, "I think he regrets it. Not saying that he loved her with words. before she…."
"Sakura knew," he replies without any hesitation.
"I don't think it matters that mama knew. I think he still aches about how she was always the one to say it for the both of them."
"That bastard was always a coward." She didn't approve of this, she still held a torch for the only man in her life, but he let him continue.
"He's terrified that if he said it out loud, she'll be taken away from him too." Like his parents, his brother, everyone he ever loved.
"Now, she's still gone, and he's missed his chance," she finishes for him.
The blonde nods. There was a beat before the blonde was Hokage-sama again and briefs you on your short mission.
"Papa, I'm home!"
"Hn. Welcome back. Dinner's ready so go wash up."
She indulges him like this, talking about her day, asking questions so he doesn't feel the weight of the looming fact that it's just the two of them now, devoid of doting, nagging pinks and red in their life.
The conversations grew thin, and words were few and far now when she finds her courage, disliking the stillness.
"Papa, what did you love most about mama?"
He hummed and she knows he's reminiscing. It's so easy to fall into it,
"Sakura…" He lets mama's name slip from his lips, so gently and nostalgic.
"She gave me the reason to continue living."
He looked at her then and saw the tremendous love and affection he had for her. How even before she knew what it meant, she knew they were connected because of her. She recognizes why mama never needed words, never asked for it when papa's feelings are tangible enough to touch.

Sakura feels the indentation on her side, void of the warmth she recently grew accustomed to. Her jade eyes reorient her under the canopy of foliage and clouds and stars. He's probably on some branch with eyes worlds away, running his mind empty until sleep or daylight claims him.
She finds Sasuke easily. A lone figure rested against a trunk. She considers nagging him about making himself too visible for a wandering bandit, but that could come later.
Much later after this insomniac crisis that took him away from her side.
It's his stance, a raised knee to his chest, a wistful stare at the full moon, guarded and vulnerable at the same time.
He doesn't move or protest when she arrives. He simply accepts her in his orbit, and she grants him the companion of silence.
"It's the day he died," Sasuke says after a while. His hand opens and closes like a child. "The day I ki-"
"The day he died," Sakura repeats with finality. "And tonight, you remember him."
She treads slowly on the invisible line. Sometimes, he pulls her in. Other times, she's outside looking in.
But his shoulders are heavy for sins not of his own, sins of the dead and long gone, and in those moments, Sakura reminds him there is still the weight of life to carry.
(Soon, his shoulders will be home to a child's pair of legs. She'll call him unicorn, seldom papa, and this is life, still life.)
She watches him make the same hand movements. Open and close. Fingers clutching a kunai. A chidori. She looks at her own hands and her mind compels her to form a shape.
In the drapery of twilight, her fingers reach out and poke his forehead. Itachi's first and final gesture of love. It will still be love, will now be home and hope and countless see-you-soons.
Sasuke's stare turns to Sakura, as if seeing her for the first time, and he soaks her in. Dew drizzled and cold, she drowns in him.

The One That Got Away
It’s been over two years since he stepped foot inside of the village hidden in the leaves. Finally ready to return following his journey of redemption, the spring sun shines high and cherry blossom petals float by with the wind while Sasuke walks through the gates a different man than when he left, one who’s atoned for his sins and is open to receiving Sakura’s love wholeheartedly, coming home to her as he promised.
He walks into the hospital for an examination Kakashi says he needs in order to be reinstated as a Konoha shinobi, and of course she’s his doctor because Sakura is the only one he trusts enough to look at his eyes, let alone touch him. Her sweet voice rings in his ears as she welcomes him back, smiling so wide it reaches her beautiful bright green irises and makes his heart rapidly beat in his chest like it’s about to pop out at any given moment. Once she’s done Sasuke asks if she’s eaten recently or offers to take her out after her shift is over, where they can catch up and reacquaint themselves with one another.
Wondering what she thought of the letter he sent a few days ago, Sasuke hopes she still feels the same way about him and he isn’t too late, if she’s willing to give him a chance after all this time.
That’s how it should have been at least.
A few days have gone by already. Sasuke sits on the floor, knees pulled to his chest, of the apartment Kakashi rented for him until he finds a permanent place of residence, with the windows and curtains closed, lights turned off. Wanting nothing more than to be alone, he ignores all those who try to check in on him, aware he’ll inevitably lash out at anyone who tries to console him.
It had been an accident, so he heard. Kakashi gave her a solo mission to deliver a scroll to the Kazekage in which the leader of Sunag gave her another one to bring back. On her journey to Konoha she was ambushed by a group of notorious bandits, being at the wrong place at the wrong time as mentioned by Shizune. Using what was left of her strength she summoned Katsuyu, giving the scroll she had been assigned to bring to Konoha to the slug before fading away only seconds later.
According to Tsunade, it’s hard to say what got her first; the poison eating away at her chakra system or the blood loss. Either way, like a true warrior, she fought until her last breath.
There’s only one person who loved him unconditionally throughout everything he’s done, one who he wanted to become a better person for, one who he could have ever imagined himself being with and now that’s impossible because she’s gone.
Sasuke had lost many people in his life, but never did he imagine losing Sakura too.
With dark irises devoid of life he stares at the unopened letter in his hands, the same one he sent to her days before his return only to be given back by the Hokage after he told Sasuke of what happened, that contains his anticipation to pursue a relationship with her and unveils his deepest feelings for her. Sakura never read or even received it, gone a week before he’d even sent it. And perhaps that’s what hurts him the most right now, she never knew how much he truly loves her.
If he had sent his hawk a few days earlier then she’d know how much he cares for her and his plans to return. Had he come home sooner then maybe he could’ve joined her or the mission would’ve been given to someone else. More and more possibilities fill his mind of alternante outcomes had different choices been made, however none of them matter because she’s still gone.
It’s late into the night when he finally decides to get up. Sasuke doesn’t remember the rules he was given by Kakashi since his return, but he doesn’t particularly care at the moment. From the conversations he heard earlier on, the group of bandits who attacked Sakura tended to hang around a small town two-hours west of the village, and so that’s where he’s going.
Finding them wasn’t hard, not when they were all drinking and boasting about their recent success of terrorizing innocent people who passed by, even going on to laugh about how they took down that ‘pinked haired bitch’.
The next thing Sasuke knew there was a man, the one who made the comment and presumably the leader of the group, cowering in fear under the frightening gaze of his Sharingan and Rinnegan, with the rest of his group knocked unconscious. Taking this man’s life wouldn’t be difficult, it’s not like anyone would miss scum like him anyway, Sasuke would be doing the world a favor by getting rid of one more piece of filth. Despite the years that have passed he’s still an avenger at his core, in a way this is how he always grieves; with his parents, Itachi, and now Sakura.
Wanting to watch the earth crumble in the background, Sasuke raises his arm with the Chidori ready in his palm. He so desperately desires to go back into his old ways just this once, to quench his thirst for revenge and have the satisfaction of being the one who punishes all those who took her from him.
As if her arms warmly embrace him from behind like she’s keeping him from falling into darkness once again, forehead gently pressing against his back, and her trembling voice calling his name and pleading him to stop, causing the lightning jutsu fades away until it completely disappears. This single act would undo everything he’s done to improve himself, and in his heart of hearts Sasuke knows Sakura is against this. Justice without the unnecessary cause of more bloodshed is how she preferred to handle situations.
Sakura may be gone, but she’s tattooed herself into his soul forever. It’s for her alone he’s willing to stay on the right path, wanting to be the man she believed him to be in her final moments.
Instead he knocks out the leader and seals them all in order to bring them back to Konoha.
Dawn breaks across the village by the time he gets back, stopping by the T&I unit and tosses the scroll to Ibiki Morino without a word before heading to the Hokage tower. Sasuke isn’t surprised when Kakashi gives him an earful for disappearing in the middle of the night with no prior warning or reason, especially after everything his former teacher has done for him. When he’s finished his lecture the lone Uchiha discloses his plan to go on another journey, needing time and space to himself to properly lament Sakura’s passing. In truth Konoha is filled with too many memories and too many possibilities of a future that could have been, Sasuke doesn’t think he can live there contently.
 Kakashi looks slightly taken aback, the boy only just returned and now he wants to leave so soon, but must understand his former student at the same time. He gives Sasuke an indefinite mission, one which would take him out of the village with little need for him to come back if he doesn’t wish, only needing to communicate through letters from time to time.
The offer comes as a shock to Sasuke, nonetheless he accepts, assuming it’ll be good for him to have a solid goal in mind and being able to protect the village from outside threats. It’s what she would’ve wanted for him too.
With what little of the belongings he owns packed up, Sasuke makes one stop before departing from the village, and it’s there where he spots Naruto. The blonde lifts the corners of his lips, telling him of how happy he is to finally see Sasuke here. Silence fills the air, both having their own unspoken conversations while staring down at the tombstone with Sakura’s name engraved across the top, flowers and presents from loved ones surrounding the grass floor.
Sasuke is the one who speaks first, informing Naruto of his decision to leave and the new assignment he’s been given. The dobe seems disappointed by his sudden announcement, but hides it under his empathetic grin, commenting about how they’ll need to spar should they cross paths again and asking for a promise to keep in touch. Sasuke can only nod in return. Giving him a last goodbye, Naruto leaves him to have some privacy with Sakura.
Sasuke hopes that in another life he and Sakura are happy, that he was able to keep all of his promises of protecting her and never hurting her again. A life where they fully love each other against all odds and ignorant of the judgment given by everyone around them. Maybe they travel the world together, start a life together, and build a family together.
His eyes burn with tears he hadn’t realized were there until they slip down his cheeks onto the ground, and for the first time since her passing Sasuke allows the bottle he’s been holding all of emotions, these last few days, to shatter. All of his regrets come out in choked sobs and labored breaths as he drops down to sit on the grass, unaware and uncaring of anyone who passes by. Sasuke stays there until he has nothing in his system, tear ducts running dry and throat left raw.
When he’s ready to leave, he takes the letter out of his pocket and places it among the rest of her offersings, having comfort with the knowledge that at least it’s with her now.
Pink flashes in front of his eyes and when Sasuke looks up she’s standing in front of him, mouth pulled into a sad smile; Sakura leans down to kiss the top of his head. However between his dry eyes and the wind, he blinks and then she’s gone, like she was never there to begin with. Gaze dropping to the letter, a cherry blossom petal blown from the nearby trees now sits atop the parchment almost as if it landed there intentionally.
In another life he and Sakura can be together blissfully, however in this reality she’ll always be the one that got away.

Just making sure
The first time she heard him talking to her belly, they were resting in a clearing in the forest. She is almost sure that it is a trick of her half-asleep and dreamy mind. Because the moment her eyes open, he is looking at the sky as if nothing has happened. So she let it go.
The second time is his hand caressing her now apparently belly that wakes her up. Again she can't be sure what he said or even if he was saying something. Because too soon he realizes she is awake, it’s his slightly pink cheeks that denounce him as if he had been caught in his little secret moment.
The third time she caught him, she could finally hear clearly. He's definitely talking to the baby, in such an adorable way that she can now understand why he was embarrassed in the first place. His words are full of hope, love and pride. Even if he wasn't stroking her, his gentle tone would do it. Sasuke is so lost in his own moment, so focused on his task that he hasn't seen her eyes open yet. It’s only when he finishes his speech about their future as a united family that he looks at her face.
Knowing that he can no longer hide, he smirks when he says provoking her.
"You said she already could discern our voices, and since you keep babbling all day I was making sure she would know my voice as well."

Update to 'Daylight':
Update to
Sneak peek:
He understood the language of her gestures, and he could only agree with her. The fruition of their child is what had brought them together, entwining his fate with hers, making their bond official. Their travels together whilst Sakura's stomach bloomed in pregnancy made their journey together all the more heavenly, despite the different tasks they were still occupied with at the time. Everything had fallen into place once they had legitimised their relationship, and it was only due to the news of a small bud - a flicker - that had made him come to his senses. Even under a starless sky, Sarada was the starlight that would always guide him home to Sakura.

“So, do you plan on bringing a fourth kid into the family?” It was meant as a joke but Sasuke almost spat out his drink having to move Sarada on his lap encase it spilled on her. She didn’t pay any mind and continued to happily baby babble to Boruto.
“Your joking, right?” And here he thought Naruto was starting to act mature suggesting to meet up at the park rather than his usual ramen stand. He even insisted on bringing the kids along for them to also bond, his older twins Satomi and Saori were playing in the flowers still in sight since they knew not to go off to far whilst the four of them sat on the bench.
This wasn’t the type of conversation he imagined.
“Well, it’s not like you have to have them right now. I’m just curious if you and Sakura-Chan talked about it.” Not really, talking about more kids didn’t seem necessary when Sarada herself couldn’t speak yet and the twins were still young needing all their attention.
“Where is this coming from?” At first Naruto seemed to hesitate to reply, almost embarrassed which wasn’t like him at all.
“Me and Hinata were talking last night, and we decided that once Boruto’s old enough we might try for another. I mean seeing your older two act with Sarada got me thinking that I didn’t want Boruto to be an only child. And I’m sure he’ll be a great older brother too.”
Ah, that made sense.
“So, you wanting another kid means we must? Do you not remember Sakura giving birth to twins?”
“Hey! I’m fully aware, I was only curious since I’m sure Sakura-Chan would love to have a kid that isn’t a copy and paste of you.”
Touché. He smirked rolling his eyes.
“Very funny.” The two were then interrupted when he felt a light tug on his sleeve to see his two daughters with flower crowns.
“Papa, Papa, look, we made flower crowns for Sawada and Bowuto.” They smiled, Satomi put one on Sarada and she clapped delighted whilst Saori put hers on Boruto who only blinked seemingly confused at what was on his head.
He then made a little fuss not liking it.
“Aww, I think it looks cute buddy.” Although cute was probably not the look Boruto was going for. Naruto then turned his attention to the girls asking them questions.
Sasuke couldn’t help but smile fondly at his daughters talking animatedly. Yes, he was perfectly content with his little family and if they did end up having another baby in the future, he has no doubt they’ll be loved and taken care of just as much.
The twins were planned, or at least one of them was.
When Sakura first told him the news, full of excitement and glee it wasn’t long until the rest of his family found out and they even had a small celebration for them.
And then she found out they were having twins. Embarrassingly Sasuke had fainted on the spot after hearing this, not his finest hour he’ll admit. It was one thing expecting a baby on their first but twins. She was so small, and whilst he had no doubt his wife could take care of herself Sasuke had refused to take any missions until the two were delivered safety. Even with his mother insisting that they would take care of her or his in laws. Sasuke didn’t like the idea of leaving Sakura alone knowing she was carrying not one but two of their babies.
Sarada on the other hand wasn’t planned but after the first two, they were more confident in what they were doing. He felt more at ease on taking missions and leaving her by herself. But he still made sure to ask his or Sakura’s parents to take care/keep an eye on her. Sakura was also excited since Naruto and Hinata were expecting which meant their little one already had a play date.
The thought of adding another baby… what kind of surprise would they have installed for them.
“What if she ends up on having triplets?” Having triplets would mean there would also be a chance for them to be three girls and whilst Sasuke didn’t care for the gender, the thought of having six (as if three wasn’t enough) girls and having to deal with all the boys, heartbreak…
His stomach turned queasy at the thought.
“Uh, Sasuke you okay? You look kind of pale.”

Juubisuke
There was something irking him, something that didn’t sit right. Perhaps because it was the memories and feelings of what the real Uchiha Sasuke was feeling. But even then, this shouldn’t be happening. He was his clone sure but should be without emotion.
These memoires, these bonds… they shouldn’t matter to him.
“Where are you going?” Matsuri asked.
“Out,” he didn’t elaborate, and knew none of them would try to stop him.
~~~
It was late by the time he got to Konoha, probably for the better. Despite never setting a foot inside the village his feet dragged him to an all too familiar setting. As if he’s been here countless times. He can picture the scene, of Sasuke’s wife welcoming him home with a light blush on her cheeks, the Uchiha certainly notices every small detail. And Sasuke’s daughter, his target, grinning away asking if they could train the next day.
The lights were on, and door unlocked, most likely Sarada wasn’t home.
“About time you got back. What time do you call this?” Sakura halted seeing the strange man before her. A man that certainly wasn’t her daughter.
“Wait your not-” At first glance Sakura’s heart skipped a beat, this man looked so much like Sasuke, but it was clear he was not, and she feared for the reason why. Sakura knew Sasuke went ‘rouge’ again for their daughter’s sake. There was so much she didn’t understand but she trusts Sarada.
However, with the enemy here did that mean something happened.
Was he there to kill her?
“Hidari,” at the questioning look he repeated. “My name is Hidari.”
“Right…” At least that was a bit of useful information. This Sakura wasn’t the usual one he could see in Sasuke’s memories but that was to be expected. Yet something churned in his stomach, a feeling he couldn’t quite place and felt disturbed about. He had hoped coming here would solve everything and quench his curiosity but now he had more questions. And the look of uneasiness and trust she was sending didn’t help either.
She was a strong kunoichi, that much he was aware of so had to be cautious.
“Why are you always on his mind?” She remained silent.
“I see you, you and your daughter. He’s always thinking about you non-stop. I don’t understand why.” What was there for him to understand? Hidari wasn’t human and would never be able to understand the complicated emotions of Sasuke.
Yet the word of what he was feeling was on the tip of his tongue, something even Sasuke had experience.
Did you give me this ring to scare off other guys?
Jealousy? Could that be it?
“I don’t know who you are or what you’re talking about. But if you think I’m going to let you lay a hand on my daughter your mistaken.” Sakura cracked her knuckles smirking, whatever his plan was she wouldn’t let him get away.
Our daughter. His mind wanted to say. No this was Sasuke’s daughter, yet he still couldn’t help but be amused. It was no wonder the Uchiha had such an interest in her.
Hidari will take her with him, he’ll convince them that cloning her will make it easier to target Uchiha Sarada. And then if they cloned her, perhaps having his own ‘family’ will get rid of this jealousy.
You Can Call Me Babe for the Weekend
CW: Angst
Their marriage was falling apart.
“Papa, look what Uncle gave me.” Sarada beamed showing the present Itachi gave to her.
But they didn’t want to ruin her Birthday, Sasuke was lucky he managed to get some time off. Last year he had missed her Birthday because he was on an ongoing mission, even though he had promised to be there. Sarada was four then and only gave a pouted teary look and rushed upstairs after screaming ‘you don’t love me’ when he came back.
Sakura tried to reassure him how she didn’t mean those words and was still young but he could tell his disappearance even began to affect her.
‘You don’t need to accept every mission. I understand that you have more responsibility now-’
‘If you understood then you would know why I can’t turn them down. Besides, I’m one of the best and can get the job done quicker.’
‘But you’re missing so much of Sarada’s life… is all this really worth it?’
‘What would you understand? It’s not like you ever grew up in a clan.’ That was uncold for and he regretted those choice of words the moment he said it. Especially seeing her face fell, but before she could respond another little voice spoke out.
‘Mama, Papa why are you fighting?’ And that’s when Sarada came down worried of how weird her parents were acting. But rather than sit down and explain everything he got up and left.
Running away, just like how he always does leaving Sakura to pick up the pieces.
Arguments like them would happen consistently until Sakura had enough and told him she wanted a divorce. He wasn’t the Sasuke-Kun she loved but for now they agreed to keep it quiet and acted normally until they could find the time to speak to Sarada about the situation.
‘It’s for the best.’ The elders and some of his clan agreed. To some degree, he knew he was purposely being set up. None of them had ever approved of their relationship.
But how could he say such a thing when his actions proved otherwise.
Sasuke smiled bending down to pat her on the head. When Sarada went to show her mother in the other room Itachi came in seeing the look of defeat on his brother’s face.
“It’s not too late.”
“She wants a divorce.”
“Then fight for her.” Why did he make it sound so easy?
“You know going against them is not that simple.” He could walk out, he could but that would also mean he would be outcasted by the rest of the clan and that would make all his hard work be for nothing.
“It’s either that or you lose your wife and daughter. That’s hardly a decision to think about.”
Then again, what did that matter? Nothing he did was ever considered good enough, he was always compared to Itachi and as such they expected so much from him.
Only for what? Nothing.
Maybe it was easy.
“Sakura won’t forgive me that easily.”
“You’ll find a way, just put them first.”
He still had to prove himself, to Sakura and his daughter but he’ll fight for them.
Till The End With You
“Uwaa Papa’s back, Papa’s back!” Sarada jumped from her seat running towards the front door before Sakura could get a hold of her to stop the little girl. Considering her hands were full with the other little bundle in her arms waking up at the noise. Or maybe he wanted to see Papa too like Sarada.
“Ah Sarada, what have I told you about running inside the house.” Especially as Sasuke hadn’t even set foot inside yet. She could hear the little squeal and her husband telling their daughter to be more careful but his voice was full of tenderness.
“I’m home,” Sasuke came through the living room with a small Sarada clinging to his leg grinning away.
“Welcome home.”
“Ah,” the two were then interrupted by a cry of their youngest as Sachihiro’s small hands reached out to Sasuke wanting his attention. “I’ll take him.”
“But you just got back.”
“I need to do my part in parenting too,” Sakura let out a small grateful smile as Sasuke beckoned Sarada to follow after him so he could tell her all his stories whilst he was travelling.
She adored her little family.
It seemed tonight they would all be sharing a bed as Sarada stated, since Papa was back this was his way of making it up to them. The two didn’t mind and it wasn’t long before Sarada fell asleep, her arm protecting Sachihiro. They let out little sighs and snores.
“They really missed you dear.”
“Ah,” he nodded thinking. Was this really their best option? “Do you regret anything?” His question took her off guard as to what he was implying.
“Regret what?”
“Living here, staying here with me… it might be easier to raise them in Konoha.” That way they would have plenty of people to keep an eye on them and babysit. And whilst that may be true she thought of her children first. This village was safe and small and easy for Sasuke to get to and back.
If they lived here instead of in Konoha, he could help raise and watch their children grow. What was there to regret?
“Of course not, I mean these two are a handful but if living here means they get to be with you. Then I couldn’t be happier.” And me as well, were words left unsaid but her husband knew. Besides, it wasn’t as though they never visited Konoha. They just had to be careful.
Sakura reached out her hand to take Sasuke’s.
“As long as we’re with you, that’s all that matters right?” Sarada let out another snore before turning, her little hand whacking against Sasuke's cheek in the process making Sakura giggle.
Almost as if she knew they were talking.
“We’ll stay with you till the end.”
A Nightmare Most Beautiful
⚠️ CW: Very dark and horrorish? ⚠️ --- Legends were if you go out to sea far enough you would be bewitched by a beautiful melody that will lead you into the ocean.
Death comes swiftly and quickly. No one knows whether they drowned as no bodies ever end up being found or something worse.
Others mentioned about a woman with pink hair or so they say. She looked like a human but had a fish tail. A mermaid perhaps? No one knew.
Many men have set sail on hoping to encounter said creature. But none have come back successfully.
Except for one man.
He had witnessed and seen everything but no one believed him. They all laughed at his absurd tales so why bother correcting them.
To them he was a crazy old man.
He had snapped out of his trance by the cold water of the sea where a bigger, scarier creature was awaiting them down below.
He looked to be a mix of a shark and human, similar to the other but very much different.
He would use his eyes to put them asleep and let them dream of happiness as his claw would slash right through them.
The only reason he lived to tell this tale was because of two things. His friend snapping him out of it whilst taking the hit himself and the creature taking pity on him by sparing his life.
Swimming up the other one (a siren he read later on) before surprisingly speaking his language.
"You can tell of the humans what happened but no one will believe you."
And he wasn't wrong.
Just then a smaller version of him came swimming out of hiding, looking at all the dead bodies before heading to the closest one to feed off of.
So that's what happened to them.
He didn't say anything, too afraid that one wrong word and he would be dead. They did speak their language.
The smaller one curious of the living human having never seen one before swam over before looking back at her parents.
"Can I eat him too Papa?"
"No, then that would waste our hard work."
"Aww." She pouted but nevertheless went over to another to eat.
He still couldn't figure out how he managed to escape. Maybe they had also taken him back to shore?
Till this day, they still haunt his dreams but he knew better now.
Whilst children were told of the mysterious woman watching over them, knowing if they behaved good or bad he knew the truth from down below.
Then again, who's to say they were in the wrong when the humans came into their territory.
He could hear her before noticing his crying daughter, his father instincts kicking in knowing something wasn’t right. He had left Sarada with his mother in the sitting room knowing she was quite fond of her but even she couldn’t stop the wailing.
“What’s wrong with Sawada?” One of the twins inspected her baby sister sitting on one side of the sofa where Mikoto was, as if looking at her face with tears streaming down her cheeks would be of any use.
“I don’t know, maybe she’s hungry?” The other suggested, both were still quite young so they would often have trouble pronouncing words. Even their sister’s, despite their age the two were quite overprotective of Sarada and hated seeing her cry.
Mikoto tried cooing at Sarada, patting her back and rubbing the back of head softly humming. Any other time the trick would do but she continued to scream and make a fuss. Her big eyes darting from one place to another as if trying to find someone.
“Would one of you go and find your parents-”
“I’m here,” Sasuke was instantly by their side in front of Mikoto picking up Sarada, she sniffled but had stopped wailing, burying her head at the crook of his neck finding comfort.
She was probably overwhelmed Sasuke thought, at most Sarada was used to ten people in one room, considering they were a family of five alone. But given that the event was for her with the clan, Sakura’s family, and their friends. It was no wonder everything got too much.
Too many strange faces and she was the centre of attention.
“Is Sawada sick?” The two girls jumped off the sofa worried about their sister. “No, just a little tired. She’ll be fine afterwards.”
“I’m sorry dear, we may have gone a little overboard,” Mikoto felt a sense of guilt seeing how upset Sarada was. The party was meant for her and yet she was having the worst time, when they had one for the twins they were ecstatic and loved all the attention. As time flew by however, Mikoto could see they were more outgoing whereas Sarada liked it nice and quiet.
If it got too disturbing she would only settle down with Sasuke or Sakura.
“It’s fine,” she never meant any harm and he knew his mother was just excited and wanting to spoil Sarada.
It just wasn’t for her.
The event itself wasn’t a Birthday, more of a way to welcome her into the family.
“I’ll take her upstairs, it’ll be quieter up there.”
“What’s wrong, is everything okay?” Sakura hurriedly walked over seeing her little family gathered around Sarada. Sakura placed her hand on her head, patting her soothingly. She didn’t remove her face from Sasuke’s neck but made a little sound acknowledging her mother.
“I’m going to put her to bed. She must be exhausted.”
“Sure, I’ll keep an eye on everything. Don’t worry.” Sakura then tiptoed placing a little kiss on Sarada’s head before turning to the two girls bending down to meet eye level with them.
“Do you want to help out Mama and Grandma Mikoto?” They could probably do with the distraction anyway. “Of course!” They beamed, all fear and anxiety over Sarada washed away and went ahead running outside managing to squeeze past some of the guests.
“Don’t go running around.” Sakura quickly chased after them before they went and broke something, Mikoto following along.
Sasuke let out a small smirk amused, his attention fell back to Sarada as she pulled away letting out a little yawn rubbing her eyes.
“Let’s get you to bed now.”
Juubisuke
Juubisuke questioning his reason for existing. He knows what his goal is or rather who his target is. Sarada Uchiha. But also can't help but feel all these complicated emotions. Which shouldn't be happening as far as he's aware. There was something irking him, something that didn’t sit right. Perhaps because it was the memories and feelings of what the real Uchiha Sasuke was feeling. But even then, this shouldn’t be happening. He was his clone sure but should be without emotion.
These memoires, these bonds… they shouldn’t matter to him. He can feel Sasuke's emotions and see his memories. Some particular ones come to mind. Of Jiji stating that a husband and wife shouldn't be apart and Sasuke wishing he could stay with his family. And so he has his own goals. To capture the two, Sarada and Sakura Uchiha. Even if it goes against their original goal.
Selfishly, in his mind if they were cloned then he can have his own family and maybe that will stop all these conflicted feelings. But who’s to say, maybe they will thank him for they could also be with their Sasuke.
“Where are you going?” Matsuri asked. “Out,” he didn’t elaborate, and knew none of them would try to stop him.
~~~
It was late by the time he got to Konoha, probably for the better. Despite never setting a foot inside the village his feet dragged him to an all too familiar setting. As if he’s been here countless times. He can picture the scene, of Sasuke’s wife welcoming him home with a light blush on her cheeks, the Uchiha certainly notices every small detail. And Sasuke’s daughter, his target, grinning away asking if they could train the next day. The lights were on, and door unlocked, most likely Sarada wasn’t home. “About time you got back. What time do you call this?” Sakura halted seeing the strange man before her. A man that certainly wasn’t her daughter. “Wait your not-” At first glance Sakura’s heart skipped a beat, this man looked so much like Sasuke, but it was clear he was not, and she feared for the reason why. Sakura knew Sasuke went ‘rouge’ again for their daughter’s sake. There was so much she didn’t understand but she trusts Sarada. However, with the enemy here did that mean something happened. Was he there to kill her?
“Hidari,” at the questioning look he repeated. “My name is Hidari.” “Right…” At least that was a bit of useful information. This Sakura wasn’t the usual one he could see in Sasuke’s memories but that was to be expected. Yet something churned in his stomach, a feeling he couldn’t quite place and felt disturbed about. He had hoped coming here would solve everything and quench his curiosity but now he had more questions. And the look of uneasiness and trust she was sending didn’t help either. She was a strong kunoichi, that much he was aware of so had to be cautious. “Why are you always on his mind?” She remained silent. “I see you, you, and your daughter. He’s always thinking about you non-stop. I don’t understand why.” What was there for him to understand? Hidari wasn’t human and would never be able to understand the complicated emotions of Sasuke. Yet the word of what he was feeling was on the tip of his tongue, something even Sasuke had experience. Did you give me this ring to scare off other guys? Jealousy? Could that be it?
“I don’t know who you are or what you’re talking about. But if you think I’m going to let you lay a hand on my daughter your mistaken.” Sakura cracked her knuckles smirking; whatever his plan was she wouldn’t let him get away. Our daughter. His mind wanted to say. No this was Sasuke’s daughter, yet he still couldn’t help but be amused. It was no wonder the Uchiha had such an interest in her.
Hidari will take her with him, he’ll convince them that cloning her will make it easier to target Uchiha Sarada. And then if they cloned her, perhaps having his own ‘family’ will get rid of this jealousy.

AU: High school student Sakura wakes up and finds herself in the future married to the bad boy Sasuke Uchiha. It was almost like she was watching through someone else's eyes.
The way she kissed her husband's cheek lovingly before he went off to work and drove her -their- daughter Sarada to school.
What the hell was this? She was top of the class and had a reputation to uphold.
She couldn't marry him.
She wakes up and is certain that it was all just a dream, nothing more. Well, it's not like she had anything to worry about considering they’ve never spoken to each other before.
Except she finds it difficult to concentrate in school the next day and would find herself staring at him on occasion.
It's just a dream Sakura, your overthinking.
It doesn't help that she hears and sees things that link to the dream
"I like the name Sarada."
Sakura stiffens not able to help herself overhearing. Why were they talking about names for their children when they were fourteen?
Sakura excuses herself from her friends going up to his table. She'll just have to take things into her own hands then.
All the boys stopped talking as she approached confused as to why the goody girl she was would.
"I hate the name Sarada!"
And walked away.
There! Now she ruined all their chances and he probably found it weird that she randomly went to their table like this.
If Sakura kept doing things like this, Sasuke Uchiha would never look her way.
It was perfect.
Sakura mentally patted herself on the back well done for the idea as she sat back at the lunch table her friends were at.
They were looking at her weirdly but she was too pleased with herself to care.
"Uh, what was that about?" Naruto finally asked looking at Sasuke. He just shrugged and they continued on their discussion of their fictional future children's names.
Except what Sakura didn't know was that every little action of trying to put Sasuke off her to change their future only made him interested in her more.
Like just imagine how chaotic Sakura would be 😭 Going around doing anything to stop Sasuke from being interested in her.
She knows he smokes up on the school's rooftop so she goes up to purposely annoy him, giving lectures about how smoking is bad so that he would hate her. Only for him to be intrigued by her.
She read in the diary about a time Sasuke took her to the nurse's office because she got hit on the face by a football. So she stayed in the class far away from the school's football pitch on the day of a match.
Only the boys were messing and playing with one in the halls and Suigetsu accidentally kicked in the class and which is how it landed smacked against her face tipping her off the chair.
Sasuke offered to take her to the nurse's office and didn't leave her side missing the match.
She would purposely go out on her way to snitch on Sasuke, calling him out to the class and in front of the teachers. Because everyone hates snitches but he was completely chill and just found her amusing.
No matter what it always backfired.
They graduated high school and Sakura thinks that she succeeded because they weren't together and he didn't try to approach her asking for a date.
When the reality was they didn't actually get together until their 20s where they bumped into each other once again in a coffee shop with Sasuke being the one to ask if she was interested in meeting up sometime.
