Judas Iscariot, Act 1 Costume (Евгений Егоров/Evgeny Egorov, Ivan Guskov/Иван Гусько) Stas Namin Music and Drama Theatre/Театр музыки и драмы Стаса Намина Jesus Christ Superstar Production (2/2)
All photos are of Egorov except for the last row which I’m pretty sure all is Guskov.
Costume Notes: So are all these photos of Judas uhhh.. I’m not entirely sure but from my understanding each Judas actor has a different costume. I think Egorov’s is definitely the most iconic with the net top, black trousers with lacing down the side seams also the vest has two buckles/straps in the back which is fun. I’m guessing they took inspiration from the Swedish version from 2012 and its preceding 2014 tour with Peter Johanson most fans know, this is just speculation but it’s just so similar with the side lacing and mesh top. As for the last row I’m pretty sure it’s Goskov’s Judas similar aesthetic to Egorov’s but much more conservative, with a collared long sleeve black shirt leather jacket and belt with black trousers. He even has fingerless gloves! The last row middle is Goskov but it might not be him as Judas, it’s taken from a thumbnail of a a now deleted video of him singing Heaven on their mind but only the thumbnail remains so I can’t confirm it as Judas but it is possible it’s his earlier costume or maybe a concert get up?
Production Notes: See part 1
I can’t find Goskov singing as Judas anywhere but there is an abundance of Egorov’s Judas online.
Thanks again to livingsilentfilms for introducing me to this production and providing some of the photos

📍The CUBE House Sta. Misericordia, Santo Domingo, Albay.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

My love for Korean food like samgyeop korean barbecue and also my sisters know no bounds. We will do anything and travel to satisfy our cravings. Last time, my sisters Jaya and Mae invited me to eat a late lunch - dinner at #samgyeopmasarap Korean Restaurant located at @smcity_stamesa. I can say the decor was simple and bright, which is what originally drew my attention. The variety of meats/protiens get my second attention. It's well marinated and tasty... The service is nice and the staff is very friendly and approachable. Thesis Shenanigans: Episode 1
Rosa. Nagkwentuhan, nagtawanan at nagchismisan. Hanggang sa makarating sa aming paroroonan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kumain mag-isa, tumambay saglit at umalis na.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Umuwi akong pagod ngunit buo.

Judas Iscariot (Олег Лицкевич/Oleg Litskevich,  Евгений Егоров/Evgeny Egorov) Stas Namin Music and Drama Theatre/Театр музыки и драмы Стаса Намина Jesus Christ Superstar Production Around 2000-09 (1/2)
Row 1 is the 2001 Jerusalem production with Litskevich and the bottom row is a 2009 production with Egorov
Costume Notes: This production no matter the year seems to only have one costume for Judas. It seems the theatre’s early productions had Judas in brown. The earliest I could find id the 2001 costume with a headband, brown trouser and baggy sleeveless shirt with sandals.Later on this will transition to more modern edgy aesthetic black costume (shown in part 2). I’m not sure when this transition happened but I know that by 2009, (the production shown in bottom row) Judas costume is more modern with black trousers though still some brown with the shirt. My best guess on the 2001 version headband is its leather/faux leather type of material, it’s black and on the center, there is a ridge either a thin strip of the material was applied or something.
Production Notes: Apparently this has been going on since 2000 (an article from 2020 said it was going for 20yrs so) and the interpretation supposedly follows Christian beliefs so rather than a secular production as many are this one sticks close with religious tradition (not quite sure how thus the vague phrasing but all it means is that it’s performed to be a religious show). It also seems to have been the only production of JCS allowed to be shown in Jerusalem or at the very least the first. I believe it was performed in Jerusalem in 2001. Fun fact King Herod was played by a woman in that specific run and is played by women still though maybe also men I think they do both. This production is usually performed at the Stas Namin Theatre but it also was put on in at St. Andrews Anglican church in Moscow to raise funds for its repair in 2019. Also about the listed actors Oleg Litskevich will play Jesus later (like 2020′s I think) on in this production.
Casting Notes: So it seems Judas is multi-casted, at least for the recent productions. I know Engorov has done it many times now, and the earliest video of him I saw is from 2009 and I can confirm he’s done it during 2018-22. For recent cast of Judas in 2020 it was Engorov and Ivan Guskov/Иван Гуськов. Currently, 2021-22 the theatre page says Judas is played by Engorov, Guskov, НИКОЛАЙ НОВОПАШИН/Nikolay Novopashin, and АНДРЕЙ ШУГОВ/Andrey Shugov
For video footage of the 2001 Jerusalem performance, you’ll find it on one of the theatre’s YouTube channels called “Stas Namin Centre”, here’s the video for “Heaven...” and “Last Supper” with Oleg Litskevich Judas they posted. As for Egorov his Judas is everywhere there’s recordings of the actual performances, bows and concerts where he is singing Judas’ songs.

Manifestations
Okay manifestation time na naman tayo accla dahil eto lang laman ng utak ko (and ayaw ko mag work right now... zero will to live na naman po tayo, opo)
nakakaaliw yung manifestations ko last year, yung iba dun nagkatotoo!!!
ETO LANG NAMAN LAGI KO NAIISIP...
If... IF I HAVE ALL THE MEANS IN THE WORLD, IN WHATEVER ASPECT, THIS IS MY DEFINITION OF A PERFECT LIFE:
Houses - Just came back from the PH and I realized na nakakapagod pala talaga na palipat lipat ng place. Pero Thank you pa rin and naafford namin mabili yun. At least may nauuwian kami. Anyway, mabalik tayo... Sala. Mga 3-4 na kwarto para pwede sila makitulog. Di ko alam sino makakapagmaintain but let's cross the bridge when we get there. Or kahit anong convenient and secured na place. Ililipat ko sila Mommy and Daddy nearby if gusto nila. TAPOS VACATION HOUSE SA COLORADO. Para pwede akong maging snow bird sa Winter and dun magbakasyon.
Tapos magbibusiness ako para sa steady and passive income. Tapos makakapag aral ako magdrawing, magsulat, at magluto.
HAHAHA
Tapos my parents can live a slow life.
CLAIMING THIS!!!!!!!

Home for the people: Response of the Local Government to address informal settlers
Reported by: Dan Francis C. Madrazo
The town of Sta. Maria showed flashes of potential to be a premier town, its competence to be the finest town seemed to be achievable with numerous programs here and there.
As Philippines being a developing country, there are lapses in terms of social welfare and livelihood assistance, as the population rises and poverty seemed inevitable to solve.
In Sta. Maria, Aling Anda a 29 year old informal settler, said to be living under a bridge that connects barangay Bagbaguin and barangay Poblacion. In her case, it is difficult as they don't have permanent home and stable jobs to supply their needs.
Napakadami, bukod do'n wala kaming bahay kase yung bahay namin nakatira lang kami sa ilalim ng tulay, tapos may batang maliit pa kami na kasama tas ilan pa kami, may kasama pa kaming mga bata, may mga inaampon kami, minsan di kami kumakain. - Aling Anda
Apart from their unbearable living condition, lack of permanent and stable job makes it more difficult for them to accommodate the number of members in their family.
- Aling Anda
Capabilities of the Barangay
In an interview, the secretary of barangay Poblacion, secretary Gelo Enriquez, the barangay is well aware of these problems surrounds informal settlers. According to the barangay secretary, from January they conducted surveys that aimed to determine the problems faced by the citizens of barangay Poblacion in Sta Maria.
The barangay Secretary noted that the capabilities of the brangay to fully give the assistance that the informal settlers needed, such as houses, financial and job assistance are for the higher authorities to address.
In terms of being open and connected to its citizen, the barangay consistently conduct consultations and ways to assist the people, as per the barangay secretary.
The competence of the barangay, ensures to be more reachable and approachable to its citizens, with regards to their problems being faced.
Gano'n ka-open ang barangay sabihin mo, kung ano yung mapagkakasunduan, mapagkakaisahan, gawin antin - Barangay Secretary
The barangay secretary also seeks for balance of power or maybe give more capabilities to the barangays to respond to this issue as they were the front liners in dealing with the people's struggles, such as informal settlers.
Tumblr media
Response of the LGU
The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) is the office in the municipal of Sta. Maria that address regarding the welfare of citizens.
In an interview, the MSWDO Officer Sandra Fabi said that the problem regards informal settlers, before it was unknown as to where they came from, they started living under the bridge that connects barangay Poblacion and Bagbaguin.
D'yan sa tabing-ilog yung sa may tulay, punong-puno yan ng mga informal eh, pero ngayon di'ba malinis na, so nag start kasi ang problema 'yan no'ng unting-unting dumadami yung tao d'yan eh, so di alam kung sa'n galing basta redirect sila d'yan.
Ngayon no'ng, nag ano kasi kami nag profiling, every time na nagbabagyo sila yung priority talaga na mabigyan ng tulong. - MSWDO Officer
The Municipal Government is prepared as they planned to where they will be evacuated during calamities.
She added that there are local relocation conducted that placed in barangay Balasing, who held to some of the informal settlers in Sta. Maria.
From Mentro Manila, Navotas, Tondo, were relocated at barangay Caysio, as the developer started the relocation site, as per the MSWDO Officer.
As per the Provincial Government of Bulacan, there are Municipalities that given allocation regarding this, and in Sta. Maria the remaining informal settlers are relocated at Pandi Heights.
-MSWDO Officer
The ones that are on the government site are relocated to the relocation sites. They were given assistance such as livelihood, and gain membership at the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program.
She said that all efforts of the Municipal Government of Sta. Maria were given fully to the informal settlers, as they are not be left behind.
In the interview, the MSWDO office is always open to accommodate and assist its citizens. The programs of the National Government and The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) are pass down to the MSWDO.
Programs such as low cost housing, provides cheap houses for informal settlers and make it more affordable for them, especially for low income families, the program started by the national government to respond the problems towards informal settlers.
Image wise, the MSWDO officer said that it affects the image of a place or town especially in Sta. Maria, for the progressive town to be progressive, it must be put in a comfortable place.
All LGUs have plans and ordinance to response to this phenomena. They feel deprived in terms of social services, as these problems, like informal settlers just depicts incompetence of LGUs.
As the current state of Sta. Maria, they are still a few of informal settlers in sight. According to MSWDO, they are after for the service of the citizen in Sta. Maria, also the town is a first class municipality as it ranked second below San Jose Del Monte in terms of population.

Yesterday, we went to Sta. Tumagal kami for more than an hour. I'm so mad I want to cry. I want to say things to him pero di ko rin nagawa. Nung nag-U-turn na sya, ayun may spot for parking.
I don't want to hate my dad. I love him so much. But he keeps giving me bad core memories. I don't want to remember him on every places na pinupuntahan namin tas nagbwisit sya at spoil the happy vibes of the trip. I want to remember him as the funny great dad who loves us. I hope he really loves us.

Para po! Para Po Sana sa Tao, Huwag Isantabi!

Traditional Jeepneys have roamed the streets of Manila since World War II. They have been part of our culture for such a long time that they have been our identity. Colorful, unique, and very Filipino. But this last week of February hasn't been very kind to the jeepney community. The Land Transportation Franchising and  Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has announced that jeepney operations will be halted after June 30, 2023 unless they have joined a cooperative or cooperation. This has sparked into such an enormous debate and has been continuously receiving backlash from drivers, commuters, and the like. Due to this, jeepney drivers came together to plan a transportation strike. They protested by not providing jeepney service for a whole week.

The simplest solution would appear to be to simply replace old, inefficient jeepneys with newer, more energy-efficient ones. However, it also has drawbacks. The drivers of jeepneys are the main beneficiaries of this PUV modernization. Tatay Fernando, a jeepney driver, said that since it is their main source of income, "Syempre malungkot, hanapbuhay namin yon. Mawawalan kami ng hanapbuhay. Kahit sarili mo yung jeep, kapag nawala yon wala ka ring hanapbuhay." They will lose their jobs as a result of the phase-out, and their families will go hungry.
Many jeepney drivers oppose the government loan being offered. Due to the numerous requirements, they are unqualified, and Tatay Lauro, a jeepney driver, claims that he is old enough to be in debt to the government. When he tries to calculate how much money he makes by driving a jeepney, he believes he won't be able to pay.
Along with the drivers, commuters also sympathize with the situation of the jeepney drivers. Commuter Sheryl claims that because the fare would increase if the jeeps were phased out, she would prefer a cheaper fare. The greater problem the government must address—rather than the phase-out—is the continuation of high jeepney fare levels. Despite the convenience that air-conditioned buses provide, an extra fare will be a burden for e-jeeps that employ air conditioning.
While it is evident that the jeepney drivers and commuters will be the most affected by the looming PUV Modernization, there are still more people who will be affected by the implementation. People unseen despite them being in plain sight. Those are the vendors and sellers in the terminals and areas where jeepney drivers pass by or rest.
For instance, at the Sta. Maria Terminal, there are many kinds of sellers and vendors there. From street food vendors to carinderias, whose livelihood depends on the commuters and jeepney drivers. Those are the lives that will be hugely affected by the PUV modernization. What would happen to them when the terminal where they get their livelihood from could possibly disappear? Are there guaranteed companies who would hire them?

Teresita, a carinderia vendor at the Sta. Maria Terminal, expressed that she is not certain on how she will find another source of income.
The same goes to Rogelio Villamor, one of the many street food vendors there. He said that there is no other place for them to go. “‘Di namin alam, mahihirapan kami diyan kasi wala ng biyahe eh. Wala kaming mapupuntahang iba. Mahihirapan kung saan kami magsisimula.” They have families to feed too. With the never ending increase in inflation, the cost of everything is at its all time high. Due to the lock down, these stores were forced to close as a compliance to health protocols. Now that they are slowly getting up on their feet again, they will be knocked down yet again with no assurance that there will be someone who will help them. Their voices must be heard too. Their stories are just as important as the others.
As stated by many transport groups and drivers, they are all for modernization if it benefits the environment. However, the cost of the proposed modernized jeeps were too expensive, even with the help of the government they would not be able to afford it. PUV drivers earn so little, yet the weight of the burden was on their shoulders because of a decision made by people who don’t even use public transportation.
By conducting an interview at the Sta. Maria Terminal, we were able to determine the thoughts and opinions of the people there. From jeepney drivers--vendors there. They have different views, but their collective answers towards the PUV Modernization are the same. The questions prepared by the interviewers were equipped to be answered by the opinions of the participants. There are two kinds of questions that were used, first is the Generalized Questions. These are the more general questions and the background of the participants were not relevant to these questions. The second kind is the Specific Questions, these are also the follow-up questions. Here, the background of the participants were relevant, hence these questions were specified only to them. The tables below represent the answers of the participants to the sets of questions given to them.

The tables above shows that more people are Not in Favor of the PUV Modernization as it has negative effects not just to them as commuters, but also to the jeepney drivers as well (Table 1). And that Jeepneys, more specifically Traditional Jeepneys, Have Big Effect on their lives, hence they prefer it more than the Modernized Jeep despite it being more comfortable (Table 3 & 4). Lastly, the vendors and sellers have no idea where they will get their livelihood from, when the terminal closes due to the jeepney phaseout, and the drivers are not ready to borrow money to comply with the PUV Modernization (Table 5).
The data shows that the people recognize that this PUV Modernization has more drawbacks than advantages.

Jeepneys have been a huge part of our lives and our collective culture as Filipinos. This traditional mode of transportation has been incorporated into our needs and has been glued into our country's identity for several decades. It is pro-people because of its cheap and affordable fares for commuters, along with the fact that various sectors are dependent on it. This includes the drivers, barkers, takataks, dispatchers, mechanics, and many more. If the looming phaseout were to happen, countless livelihoods would be at stake. It would have a negative impact on the country's transportation system and on our economy in general because thousands of jobs would be lost. The Jeepney modernization program is an ideal program in perhaps a more pro-people government. But with no proper plans and rushed implementation, it would only trample on the poor masses. There is nothing wrong with modernization; we are all for that, but in doing that, it should consider bringing the less privileged into the progression that it proposes.
