Played with “The Best Remedy” kit by Stampin’ Up! this morning on my Facebook live Coffee and Cards. After making three of the cards as intended I went rogue using the negative from the heart die cut as a stencil. I brushed on some Pool Party ink using a blending brush and layered on some polka dots with another stencil. Then I stamped the adorable skunk with stazon and did some easy watercoloring with water color pencils, blender pen, and Wink of Stella. Washed stamps. I’m really bad when it comes to cleaning my stamps. I used, primarily, dye inks for years but have been using pigment and StazOn solvent ink over this past year so the build up on the rubber is more extreme. I used the scouring side effects of a kitchen sponge to scrub off the build up on these wood mounted stamps. Tested stazon pigment ink pads on thick and heavy tracing paper which has a similar texture to one of the semi translucent shrinking plastic... colors are vibrant and stamped images are crisp. Stazon in general works well on non porous surfaces. Stazon pigment ink pads definitely gives some great results which the original stazon ink pads didn’t have. After this experiment, I decided to make a lamp shade with this paper for LED candles. I’ll share the results of the lampshade sometime in October! . . ( I stopped using normal candles for lighting except for the small Buddhist temple in my house only used for burning incense and this candle only lasts 3mins. It’s mostly for the safety reason from the fire living in a wooden house with lots of paper and fabrics!
