Okay why is Cassie so confused lmao she aligned herself with Myles and then called him out in front of everybody after he took responsibility/distributed the blame for Steffi
Footsteps and Fellowship: Tales from the Camino de Santiago
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there existed this pilgrimage route called the Camino de Santiago. It was like Disneyland for medieval Christians, right up there with Rome and Jerusalem. Imagine millions of people from all over the world strapping on their sandals and embarking on a journey for spiritual enlightenment, personal reflection, or just to spice up their Instagram feed with some epic adventure pics.
Legend has it that this guy named James, or as his pals called him, St. James the Great, decided to take a little trip to Spain to spread the good word of Christianity. Now, whether he made it there or not is still a topic for history buffs to argue over, but what we do know is that Spain kinda took a shine to him, thanks to his relics chilling in Santiago de Compostela. And thus, the Camino de Santiago was born—a network of routes that crisscrossed Spain and even spilled over into other parts of Europe.
But who was this St. James character, you ask? Well, he was your average Galilean fisherman turned apostle, hanging out with Jesus and witnessing all His miracles, like turning water into wine and walking on water. Unfortunately for James, his story ended on a rather grim note when he became the first apostle to bite the dust, courtesy of King Herod Agrippa I. Ouch.
Now, why on earth would Gladys (@gladiatorGlasyl), one of my closest and weirdest friends, and I decide to tackle this medieval pilgrimage? Oh, let's blame it on Gladys and her wild ideas. She was all set to do the Camino in June, and I just had to chime in with, 'Why not April? I could join!' Because, you know, I just couldn't bear the thought of missing out on her adventure. So naturally, she couldn't say no to me hijacking her plans. Bernard was supposed to complete our fabulous trio, but alas, other priorities got in his way. And that's how Gladys and I found ourselves preparing for a totally "planned" journey—not because we're seasoned hikers (far from it), but because we've always had a knack for turning mundane situations into questionable adventures. Plus, trying to sync our leave schedules was a delightful nightmare, but hey, when opportunity knocks, you grab it, right?
Hence, we settled on the Camino Inglés, the glamorous trek from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela. Here, blisters became our new best friend, and complaining about sore feet was the main event! So, we strapped on those hiking shoes and got ready for a six-day journey filled with laughter, storytelling, banter, sarcastic quips, and scaring each other—better than any reality TV show.
As we embarked on an unforgettable journey starting from Ferrol, where anticipation filled the air, we passed through rolling hills, occasional glimpses of farm animals, Gladys bullying the dogs (like dogs everywhere and the diva cats!), and the earthy scent of the countryside—nature's unique fragrance. Amidst the chirping of birds and the gentle rustle of leaves, the footsteps of fellow pilgrims set the rhythm for our adventure.
As we progressed from Pontedeume to Bruma, we braced ourselves for a challenging ascent. Yet, this climb was akin to ascending nature's staircase to paradise, offering breathtaking vistas at every turn. The route from Bruma to Sigueiro was among the most remarkable walks we had ever experienced, showcasing the grandeur of Mother Earth in all her glory.
The highlight awaited us on the final leg from Sigueiro to Santiago. We pictured ourselves meandering through an enchanted forest, where the ethereal melodies of Celtic (its actually Galician) music seemed to dance on the breeze—enticing even the most hesitant of dancers to join in the revelry.
Forget about luxurious spa treatments; on the Camino, blisters are the ultimate souvenir. You'll collect them like badges of honor, right Steffi? (at least for me, apparently Gladys has a thick skin), and proudly displaying your battle scars to anyone who dares to ask about your "vacation." And let's not forget the colorful characters we encountered along the way. From the other pilgrims, we chatted with at every rest stop to the mysterious locals who seemed to materialize out of thin air, greeting us with 'Buen Camino,' there's never a dull moment on the Camino. But hey, it's not all doom and gloom. Amidst the pain and exhaustion, you'll forge bonds with your fellow sufferers that will last a lifetime. Nothing brings people together like shared misery, right? What was the saying? It's about the journey, not the destination.
Speaking of colorful characters, I'm always grateful for the belief that everything happens for a reason and that every twist and turn in our lives serves a purpose. We might not grasp it right away, but eventually, it unfolds before us. Coincidences? I'm not sure. The folks we encounter in our journey? They've got their own mission, their own motivation. The late-night chats, the stories swapped—they're like nuggets of wisdom wrapped into one.
Big shoutout to Steffi, our towering pal (we're vertically challenged, okay?). And to Veronica and Theresia, longtime pals who've been traversing this camino many times over. Thanks for the wild tales, ladies. And to Sharon, the queen of suggestions and hype, cheers for keeping us going. And to our tapas-and-tinto-de-verano companions—Kathleen, Janine, Noah, Jasmin—y'all rock for sharing your journey with us.
What made our experience even more ridiculous is the fact that Gladys and I are about as outdoorsy as a penguin in the Sahara. We're more likely to be found at a hole-in-a-wall restaurant than trudging through rugged terrain. But hey, life's all about stepping out of your comfort zone, right?
As we stumbled our way to the Cathedral of St. James, I had a revelation: I actually missed writing. Like, with a pen and paper, not just typing away on a keyboard. Who knew walking for miles could reignite my passion for writing? So here I am, not really scribbling but typing away on my phone (I was on the plane, okay?), realizing that life is full of surprises, like finding a gourmet meal in a gas station or discovering a hidden talent for playing bagpipes!
Well, well, well, looks like our Camino expedition is just getting started! Picture this: another journey awaits, but we'll need to put our persuasive hats on for BK. Resistance is futile; he's joining the fun! What do you say? Portuguese Way, perhaps? And so, with a grateful heart, I bid farewell to the Camino de Santiago (for now), carrying with me a renewed sense of purpose and a treasure trove of memories (and perhaps a few extra pounds, that's more on Gladys though, I gave all mine to her). For some time, it's the adventures that leave us weary, longing for a hot shower, that truly enrich our souls. Here's to the journey, my dear amigos, filled with somber reflection and boundless joy. Until our paths intertwine once more in our next grand adventure! May we meet again, fueled by the memories of this unforgettable journey.
"she rings like a bell through the night and wouldn't you love to love her? she rules her life like a bird in flight and who will be her lover? all your life you've never seen a woman taken by the wind. would you stay if she promised you heaven? will you ever win?"

𝓫𝓲𝓸𝓰𝓻𝓪𝓹𝓱𝔂
on a cold and snowy night in december, parked outside of madison square garden on her parents’ tour bus, felicity stefanie dupont was born to mikey and steffy jo dupont of ‘rolling mac’, one of the most popular bands in the entire world.
growing up on the road with her parent’s tumultuous relationship in the spotlight wasn’t as glamorous as it seemed. her parents were wrapped up in the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll, leaving felicity often times in hotel rooms or on tour buses with her nanny as her parents kept on living their rock star lifestyle. she was home schooled by tutors and never experienced any sort of stability or social interactions with people her own age.
when she was 8 years old, after years of being on again and off again, her parents finally broke up for good and the band broke up. her father disappeared to start his own solo career and her mother was left to raise felicity on her own. felicity’s mother wasn’t exactly someone who was meant to be a mother. she didn’t have a maternal bone in her body. felicity always did much prefer her father. though he wasn’t parent of the year, he at least felt like a parent. he had taught her to play guitar, and gave her her love of music. so when he left her and her mother, she took it very hard.
she had wanted to grow up to be just like her parents, but after their breakup, that was the last thing that she wanted to be, seeing how hollywood and fame tore her family apart. her mother attempted her own solo career, as well, but wasn’t as successful as felicity’s dad. felicity’s mother slipped further and further into her drug addiction and felicity was basically left to raise herself. when she was 13, she found her mother dead of a drug overdose in a motel room and was immediately sent off to live with her father.
however, him being absent from her life for six years was something that felicity was unable to forgive. the former sweet girl who loved playing guitar with flowers in her hair became cold. she completely abandoned her love of music and instead, decided to pursue an acting career all on her own. she emancipated from her father, with the help of her long time nanny who she not only became her legal guardian, but her manager, and she helped felicity make it in the acting world, something that was completely opposite of what her parents did and something that she wanted to use to help her be taken seriously and separate her from them.
at 14, she was cast in a movie that ended up winning an oscar and immediately, felicity catapulted into a list stardom all on her own. she was cast in a plethora of serious roles and was known for her range and putting her absolute all into her jobs. she worked hard and completely poured herself into her work, even though her heart wasn’t completely in it. she always felt drawn to music. wanting nothing more to be a singer and songwriter. however, after seeing what the music industry did to her family, she wanted to stay far away from it.
she spent her entire teenage and young adult years working hard, never stepping out of line, being this picture perfect image of an artist, of an actress who took her craft and her job seriously. she was never caught slipping up, never allowed herself to get wrapped up in the messiness or pettiness of hollywood, never allowed herself to indulge in relationships or people that would drag her down and certainly never partook in vices as hard as her parents did.
however, a few months ago that all came crumbling down. after a decade of working her ass off, she had gotten drunk with her close friend, ford anderson, who had a girlfriend at the time, after one of his concerts. and while they were dancing and singing around his hotel room, not only did they fall into bed together, but they had the brilliant idea to film it, forgetting all about the camera left behind in the morning.
and of course, it ended up leaking and over night, felicity’s career was tarnished. she was labeled a whore, a homewrecker, and every horrible thing you could possibly imagine. it was as if overnight, she simply became all the things she tried so, so hard to stay away from and slowly but surely, she began to party.
instead of spending her days on prestigious movie sets, she was spending her nights dancing on tables, drinking, doing drugs, trying to find any way possible to cope with how far she’s fallen from the top.
it’s been months since she’s been cast in anything, being labeled as hollywoods newest bad girl on the party scene, however she recently landed a role for the movie mr. and mrs. smith, so she’s hoping that things will be looking up from here.
and although she rarely allows herself to get close to people, she simply craves stability, craves a normal life and craves being able to share all the things she has to say with the world. but she has no idea how to dig herself out of the hole she got herself into.

It’s been just a little over a year since “Liberty Biberty” became a part of our cultural vernacular, but that’s when Tanner Novlan garnered national attention as the tongue-tied, clueless, narcissistic actor in Liberty Mutual’s line of popular commercials. “I had seen the series they were doing of Liberty Mutual commercials in front of the Statue of Liberty,” Novlan relays. “And yes, people do come up to me all the time and say, ‘Liberty Biberty.’ It’s so fun that everyone can relate to that obnoxious actor. He was so much fun to play. When you get BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL, you’re like, ‘Wow, this is a career-changer,’ but for a funny little commercial like that, you never think [like that].”
Novlan auditioned for B&B in March and landed the part but couldn’t start, or even talk about it, until the soap began production over four months later due to the coronavirus pandemic. “I don’t know their old way of filming, so this is my new normal,” the actor relays. “Being the first production in North America to be back, it was amazing. It’s like, ‘This really is the new normal.’ It’s been such a unique process but it’s been amazing how all the producers have come together to figure this out and put forth these groundbreaking guidelines, making things safe and efficient and being able to work around all of this and keep everything alive. They’ve come up with some really creative ways of making shots work, but also feeling natural. Yes, we have to socially distance. We always are wearing our masks so we’re very cautious in that manner, but when you get into the scene and you’re reading opposite Jacqui [MacInnes Wood, Steffy], even if she is off camera, the connection is there, and I think it comes through.”
Novlan is thankful that he had some inside knowledge of how things worked at B&B, since he’s the real-life husband of B&B alum Kayla Ewell (ex-Caitlin). “It’s so perfect to have someone who has already been a part of the family to walk me through this,” he says. “She’s great for advice, and not just on work stuff. She gives me advice all the time on life. Listen to your wife. It’s always a good idea [laughs]. But with this team, I feel like I can ask any questions, and everyone was welcoming and straightforward.” Novlan and Ewell’s real-life love story sounds like it could be part of a soap, too. “It was technically kind of a setup because we both starred in this music video for an Australian band [circa 2009],” he relays. “The band is called Sick Puppies. It was one of their first hit North American releases. The name of the song was called ‘Maybe’ [which can currently be viewed on YouTube]. So, that’s how we met, on this music video at 3:30 in the morn- ing in the high desert [of California], which is where I met the woman of my dreams. We were very professional on set, but there was definitely something special about her — and I held her sunglasses for ransom. We were shooting outdoors and locations were changing and the makeup lady accidentally took our sunglasses home with her. The next day she called and said, ‘I have your sunglasses.’ I went and picked them up. I saw hers sitting there and thought, ‘I’ll give these to Kayla,’ so I snagged them and I said to her, ‘Lunch and your sunglasses?’ Luckily she took the lunch, probably just to get her sunglasses back.”
The rest was history, and the duo has worked to navigate the demands of their chosen profession. “The job sometimes involves distance and being away from one another, and there is also the time away that certain projects can require,” he points out. “It can be difficult sometimes but the trick is, we try very hard to make sure our schedules coordinate so we can be with each other. We have a two- to three-week rule where if one of us is away working for that long, you have to fly out and see the other. It’s almost like a must. And with our new baby, Poppy, we’ll definitely make sure that’s the case. But that’s the beauty of a having a great job like B&B. Luckily, I’m here. I’m local in L.A.” Novlan’s mom, a B&B super-fan, couldn’t be more thrilled about her son’s new gig. “My hometown has 500 people in it,” he explains. “I come from a very small farming community so even just coming home was a shock to her, but she’s cool. Kayla is so down-to-earth that none of that mattered. But believe me, my mother is chomping at the bit to come and visit the set of B&B as soon as COVID [passes]. That may be the real challenge, like, ‘Mom, you can’t wander onto the set. You’ve got to stay over here.’ That’s going to be a great day when it happens.”
Novlan credits his mother’s influence for getting him from Saskatchewan to Hollywood. “My mother was originally from Sacramento so I always thought it would be great to come and work in the U.S.,” he explains. “I started doing some print work in Canada so that’s how I originally came down, but I fell in love with acting as my immigration papers were being processed. I went to acting class here but I never could I have imagined having a career in film. But when I came down here and got a taste of it I was, like, ‘Wow. I’m hooked. This is it.’ ” But he admits he had no idea what he was in for. “My first job was a commercial for T.J. Maxx, back to school,” he recalls. “It was the first audition that I had ever been on and I got it and I thought, ‘Well, this is easy!’ I quickly learned there’s a lot of training that goes into it. So, I came here quite green but over the years, I’ve been able to call it a career.”
Over the next decade-plus, Novlan landed high-profile roles in MODERN FAMILY, ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO, the TV rom-com MY BEST FRIEND’S CHRISTMAS and the upcoming PUCKHEADS.
He’s up for a ROSWELL comeback, schedule permitting. “There could be a chance that we might see Gregory again,” he notes of playing the caring brother of series regular Tyler Blackburn (Alex; ex-Ian, DAYS et al). “I know ROSWELL has been picked up for a season 3, and the character has been pretty well-received from the fans, as well, which is always amazing and such an honor. You never know. It was a great experience, but right now, everything is about B&B. Even with COVID, we’re finding a really nice groove with maintaining safety while keeping that classic B&B look. It’s been pretty smooth, I’ve got to say. How lucky am I?”
“Sinn” City
B&B fans have dubbed Steffy and Finn “Sinn”, which is just fine by Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy). “I told him this character is his own,” she says. “He’s not a recast, so I told him, ‘Make it your own and have fun with it. Even though we are eight feet away from each other in scenes, feel free to play with me. Let’s connect as much as we can in these scenes.’ He’s been great. He’s been absolutely wonderful on set and taking direction very well — and he’s a fellow Canadian so, of course, we hit it off immediately. He’s a really sweet guy and he can keep up with our pace. I think the fans will really like him.”

THE STORY
Set somewhere in the Central American jungles, Joan Grant (Lucille Ball) runs a cocoa plantation. She also allows a platoon of US Marines to stay there. Two of the Marines, Malone (Chester Morris) and Darrick (Richard Dix), tussle over her affections. When she is kidnapped the two unite to save her. Henderson (John Eldredge), the plantation foreman, is really El Vengador, the kidnapper. He sets a trap for the Marines he knows will try to rescue her. The two rivals eventually realize that to defeat the enemy, they will have to work together. When Malone is heading for an ambush, Derrick flies to his aid and rescues Joan.
TRIVIA
Benjamin Stoloff took over direction of the film when George Nichols Jr. was killed in an automobile accident during production.
Lucille Ball and husband Desi Arnaz would later purchase the RKO 40-Acres backlot as part of her Desilu Studios holdings.
Lucy Carmichael is mistakenly drafted into the Marines in “Lucy Gets Caught Up in the Draft” (TLS S5;E9) in 1966. One of television’s most popular depictions of Marines was “Gomer Pyle USMC” [United States Marine Corps] a series filmed at Desilu Studios. Its star, Jim Nabors, did a cameo as Pyle in this episode.
“The Marine’s Hymn” is heard at the beginning and end of the film. In “Lucy is a Sax Symbol” (LWL S1;E5) in 1986, Lucy Barker manages to squeak out a rusty rendition of “The Marine’s Hymn” on her old saxophone for her granddaughter.
A clip from this film is included in “Lucy and Desi: A Home Movie” (1993).
