Will.i.am wants US government to declare war on education

Will.i.am wants US government to declare war on education
http://twitter.com/#!/iamwill/status/251777809121439744
We think we know what the Black Eyed Peas frontman was trying to say, but we’d disagree with the follower who declared it “well-said.” Declaring war on education sounds a little bit more like this.
@iamwill Are you telling people to blow up schools? #YoureATool
— Nunya (@_nunyabidniz) September 28, 2012
@_nunyabidniz I'm saying we need to fight for education…create a movement to educate and give the youth the proper tools…#openyourmind
— will.i.am (@iamwill) September 28, 2012
That’s a little more clear. However, a short trip back in Will.i.am’s timeline complicates things a little further.
If you dont invest in youth #education the youth will end up in prison..then people that invest in prisons make money. #CHANGEit #stemFORall
— will.i.am (@iamwill) September 28, 2012
shouldn't we invest more in education to match the privatization & investment in prisons? #educateNOTincarcerate
— will.i.am (@iamwill) September 28, 2012
It’s not bad enough that kids go to prison; those capitalists who invest in privatized prisons make money that way.
The privatizing of prisons is one of the reason prisons have more funding then american schools…#INVESTinTHEfuture #stem in every ghetto
— will.i.am (@iamwill) September 28, 2012
Its a set up…dont invest in inner city youth #education so they end up prison…then people that invest in prisons make money. #stemFORall
— will.i.am (@iamwill) September 28, 2012
Whoa, it’s a setup! Someone’s trying to keep STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) from inner-city students so that they end up in privatized prisons so that investors make money building them. But who would do such a thing? Could one more tweet back into Will.i.am’s timeline uncover this monster?
Don't let america get in the hands of big business again…every kid needs #stem #INVESTinTHEfuture http://t.co/NKyd8LgK
— will.i.am (@iamwill) September 28, 2012
We had a feeling.

Hi guys!! I thought I’d introduce myself to all my new followers over the past month. Welcome to my crazy life!! I’m Jessica and here are some #basicfacts ❤️This fall I start my 13th year of teaching! I’ve been in first, second, and now I teach 6th-8th Robotics, Broadcast, and STEM Careers. 🧡I am a mom to a high school SENIOR, Carly Summer, and we are beginning the journey to college for her. She is my reason for being and I wouldn’t change a thing from when I myself was 18 and pregnant because I wouldn’t have her. 💛I am a dog mom to Chip, @chipadeedoodah, who we adopted over two years ago and who is the fluffiest dog ever and because of him my wardrobe can be described as dog hair chic. 💚 I am super passionate about all things tech ed!! I think we live in such fast paced, unique world right now. We are preparing students today for jobs that don’t yet exist and we need to give them every tool we can in order to help them be successful in the future. 💙 I also believe that tech ed doesn’t just mean putting a piece of tech in a kid’s hand or making a worksheet digital. It involves computational thinking, problem solving, critical thinking skills, thinking outside the box, collaborating, and so much more. #STEMforall 💜 I have a bachelors degree in general studies with a concentration in military history. #civilwarbuff I have a master of education I. Educational technology and leadership. I completed an alternative certification program when I realized my call to become a teacher. 💖 I LOVE all things Disney. Is there another place to vacation? #disneylove ❤️ I am a major geek. Total and complete nerd. If it’s Star Wars, Marvel, science fiction, Harry Potter, Supernatural, Sherlock, etc etc I am SO THERE. #gonegeekgirl 🧡 If it’s bacon, I’ll eat it. #noshame 💛 I’m pretty sure I live on coffee. ☕️ #mybloodtype 💚 I’m a born and bred Louisiana girl, but the only truly Louisiana things I do is eat, drink, and cheer on the Tigers. #nohunting #itshotoutside What about you?? I would love to know something about all of you!! What are some of your basic facts? https://www.instagram.com/p/BmGPlFknZ7H/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ybtmgslmk8lb
