21 de setembro de 1947, Nellie Ruth Pillsbury King trouxe ao mundo seu segundo filho, Stephen Edwin King. Passaram por muitas dificuldades, pois teve que criar seus dois filhos sozinha. Poderia dizer que mal sabia ela que teria um filho tão famoso, mas acredito que ela sempre soube, porque o incentivava com moedas em troca de contos que ele escrevia. Mais tarde, já em sua vida adulta, ele conhece a mulher de sua vida, Thabita, que também sempre o incentivou, apesar de todas as dificuldades que a família enfrentou. Inclusive foi ela quem tirou do lixo, sua primeira obra, “Carrie”. Tiveram 3 filhos, Naomi, Joe e Owen, sendo os “garotos”, escritores também. King se tornou um dos escritores mais comerciais de todos os tempos, escrevendo em média 3 livros por ano. Nós, como fãs, não conseguimos acompanhá-lo na compra de seus livros, conforme ele os escreve. Estou tentando colecionar suas obras, pelo menos, as publicadas no Brasil. Porque pra mim, ele realmente é um escritor que ficou famoso por um gênero, mas que hoje em dia, não existem barreiras para sua imaginação. Parabéns, SK!
