Had an Idea, wasn't gonna talk about if, but that's the only way I can get a sliver of serotonin so here we go!

Steteritch, the ship I occasionally vagueblog about but never actually write about.

Mitch is a hunter who's just passing through, or maybe was called in by a friend of a friend of an Argent, as backup, or maybe he's finishing up his own hunt and Kate asks him out for celebratory drinks after. She's too close to his type for him to actually be interested in her (She's like an evil version of Katrina, even the names are similar). Some way some how he finds out Kate and Gerard are keeping a werewolf hostage: Peter. He's gone completely feral after all the torture they've put him through, and Mitch may be a hunter, but this isn't part of the Code. It's sickening to watch what they gleefully do to Peter, and so he breaks him out.

Peter has nowhere to go, can't even shift back to his human form, and by rescuing him Mitch has sort of assumed responsibility over him. He can't just leave Peter to fend for himself. So he takes him in and nurses him back to health. It's slow going, and the physical wounds heal faster than the psychological ones. Peter refuses to eat because the Argents always laced his food with wolfsbane and glass, and laughed as they forced him to choose between starvation and poison. (He always tried to wait it out, but the hunger always got too much. He tried to eat around the glass but the pieces were small, crushed into his food, lacerating his mouth and letting th wolfsbane bleed into his system faster.) Mitch isn't keen on trying to force feed a werewolf and so Peter continues to starve himself, until he can grow to trust Mitch enough to eat. It's not like the hunger will kill him.

It takes a few weeks for Peter to shift back, but he's still not quite human. He's skittish and aggressive he doesn't trust Mitch because he's a hunter, but he's also the one that saved him. Who's continued to take care of him. And in that time, Peter bonded to him. It's a strange dynamic they have.

Then at some point, Peter meets Stiles. Mitch isn't a kind person—Peter doesn't think he knows how to be—but Stiles is. He's soft in all the ways that Mitch isn't, and maybe before Peter would have seen that as a weakness, but now? All he wants to do is curl up on Stiles' lap and take that softness for himself.

Stiles always has a snappy comeback and a smirk at his lips, and it's nothing like Kate because hers was always full of malice where as Stiles' comes from mischief. He likes to make trouble, and he can even be mean sometimes, but he isn't cruel like she was.

He rounds down both of their sharp, jagged edges, both Peter and Mitch. Stiles fills in the gaps between them with his softness and laughter and kindness, is the glue that whole the three of them together in their strange dynamic. Because Mitch needs someone to protect and Peter needs someone to take care of him and Stiles needs both, to care and be cared for, and somehow they just fit, their damaged pieces lining up together like the broken shards of a mirror. And even if they don't quite know what they are together, at the heart of it is a fierce, unwavering sense of loyalty, because they're all each other has.

Well, I’m a huge sucker for soulmate aus. I read a body swap au recently, and I was kind of curious to see what would happen if the soulmates body swap, but then someone else in the soulmates life spends the day with them and then maybe falls in love with them? Or just some other complicated emotions? Maybe a best friend, maybe a frenemy, something along those lines, and then it’s a double uh-oh.

Stuck in an airport at 3 in the morning on a layover and practically no one else is there? Depending on the airport, there is lots of things to do and they are all constantly open. Bookstores, attraction stores, food places, random clothings stores.(I was in an airport that had a Gucci store once. One of the stranger experiences of my life.) Lots of options for shenanigans.

This is more relationship specific but I think we were seriously cheated out of an awesome BrOTP that could’ve Stiles and Kira. Kinda random, but it’s been shown that Kira is into nerdy stuff like Stiles, and they would bond over that. And while Kira’s Kitsune certainly isn’t dark or chaotic in the same way Void was, it is still a loss of control. So I wish we could’ve seen them talk about that. I also think that Scott would be in serious trouble if they teamed up. Actually, everyone would be in trouble.

Somewhere on your blog (can’t find the post right now), you wrote a tidbit about how Stiles knows Mitch from somewhere, (I think it’s his brother? maybe from his fbi internship?), and when the pack is having an issue Stiles calls him. It ended on the fact that Mitch never picks up his phone, and his number changes constantly due to CIA stuff, which was hilarious. I don’t know if that was apart of a story, or was continued, but that type of thing is always a blast.

As for ships, if I read something well written I ship it, so you can write pretty much any pairing and I’ll be happy. (Everything Stiles is cool) I do love poly things. You peaked my interest with Steteritch, cause that’s just an asshole trifecta right there.

Stiles was finally asleep, draped across his chest. Listening to his heart, probably, wanting reassurance that Mitch was still alive and with them even while unconscious. Mitch ran his fingers through Stiles' hair, wondering how he was lucky enough to have him and Peter in his life.

"It's hard on him, not knowing where you are all the time, whether you're alright." With his dad being a cop, Stiles grew up with the constant fear of something happening to him. With Mitch it was ten times worse, because his could be killed during any one of his missions, putting himself in harm's way all the time. And they would never know. There would be no one to notify them of his death, no one knew Mitch was with them. For Stiles, it was nerve wracking every time Mitch was called in for another mission. The few times he came home injured made it even worse.

"I would stay if I could." He wanted too, desperately. Sometimes, it took everything he had not to say fuck it and leave everything behind just to be with them. Mitch saw a future with Stiles and Peter, a life for himself that he hadn't dared imagine since Katrina but never really stopped wanting.

But he couldn't leave. He had responsibilities with the CIA, and he's good at what he does. He can't give it up, even for them.

"I know. Believe me, sweetheart, I understand, better than you know. I dreamt of my revenge for years, before I finally got the opportunity. I leapt at the chance for vengeance on the ones that took my family from me. But in doing so, I made mistakes that I still regret." Peter's tone turned somber. "Get your revenge, but don't lose yourself to it, like I did." Peter died for his vengeance. It was poetic justice, in a way, and the same would happen to Mitch, if he wasn't careful. But unlike him, Mitch wouldn't be able to come back.

If not for Stiles, Peter never would have been brought back from the brink of insanity. Stiles made him want to be better, and he could see that Stiles had the same effect on Mitch; he was a very special young man, and they were lucky to have his love and devotion, a gift more precious than anything.

I think I like Stiles/Peter/Mitch so much because they’re like. Objectively the three of them are really smart, but they are also three kinds of dumbass. 

Stiles is full of eclectic knowledge and binge watches Mythbusters on the weekends and then decides to recreate the experiments with his own twists just for the Chaos of it all. Absolutely bonkers Gen Z attitude, everything is an illusion and nothing matters, here for a good time not a long time. The definition of bisexual disaster. 

Mitch is at the age where yeah, technically he’s an adult. But he’s also at Peak Dumbass, because seriously, you are never more stupid than you are at 25. His brand of foolishness is more along the lines of “Hold my beer” and “Yeah I could die but it’ll make a wicked story and/or eulogy”. Probably a contender for the Darwin Award lets be real. Tell him not to do something and it’s the first thing he’s going to do because fuck you. Peak millennial apathy and disenfranchisement. Self-scare is getting high on adrenaline and challenging God to a knife fight. 

Peter... where to even begin. At first glance, Peter seems like he has his shit together. If you think this, you are incorrect. He is a petty, manipulative motherfucker. If a barista burns his coffee you can bet your ass Peter will dig up all the dirt on them he possible can and blackmail them into giving him free coffee for the rest of their career. He’s a snarky asshole and proud of it, and will waste no time showing that he is much smarter and wittier than you. He also has no sense of self-preservation whatsoever, will antagonize anything and everything. he doesn’t care about you, your mother, or your God. When he gets in a fight/kidnapped/tortured he complains loudly to annoy his opponent into releasing him, and it works at least half the time. because he can complain with the best of them. If you get blood on his clothes you better believe you’ll be doing his dry cleaning for the rest of his life. Smarmy bastard. Came back to life because even the nebulous concept of the afterlife couldn’t put up with him. 

And then when you get all three of them together... Either they are brilliant tacticians or Murphy’s Law. There is no in between with three of them. (Outside the bedroom, anyway.)

So Estranged is getting a sequel born out of a stupid cracky idea that got serious real quick and got the most devout steter shipper ive ever met shipping Mitch/Peter even harder, and thus a ship was born but now I have another spin off idea that I’m honestly in love with? I probably won’t include it in the actual series bc it just doesn’t line up, but maybe as a oneshot? it could be so fkn cute.

I’m not going to say everything in light of SpoilersTM, but what if Mitch were to retire in favor of opening a restaurant, finally getting to chase his childhood dream, and Stiles has a cute little bakery that’s next door/kind of part of it?? Stiles has always had a love of baking, but during his time in New York it’s really become even more, and Mitch thrives in the kind of high stress environment that comes with running a restaurant, and Peter handles the bookkeeping for both of them. He is surprisingly good at it, and neither Stiles or Mitch care for the behind the scenes paperwork and bullshit, so it works out for all of them. peter especially likes it when Mitch and Stiles are in the mood to experiment, because of course he thinks of himself as a connoisseur. Stiles likes to mess with him by making regular every day things like idk grilled cheese, but describing it like some gourmet dish. 

It would be Soft and Wonderful and Sweet and my heart is full.

What is the point of writing Steteritch if you're not going to use their ages to the best comedic effect? I say as thought anyone other than me is writing steteritch

Stiles is a Gen Z, and uses Gen Z humor to distress and perplex Gen X Peter. Mitch is a Millenial which means he's young enough to understand, but old enough to want to die when Stiles says something like "rearrange these guts, daddy."

WOO! I finally got around to posting this bad boy. Now that I’m home I can work on rounding up all of my little works I’ve posted here, and get them posted there. 

Latest one is an AU where Mitch goes to this fight club, and one night after a fight he comes across Stiles, who is entirely lacking in self-preservation and decided to force himself into Mitch’s life whether he wants him there or not. By the time of the drabble they are somewhat friends. At the very least Mitch cares about Stiles, which is why Stiles has an open invitation to come over and crash on the couch whenever he wants, or if he needs to get away for a while.

What's this about mitch and parrish? Can I hear some more???

I am so glad you asked! Please join me in the wonderfulness that is Marrish, I had this whole fic (kind of) planned out. (This is a bit of a jumbled mess, mostly bc I just took all my ideas from my chat with @missleeismyname who is wonderful and helped me flesh this out a bit)

So this starts when Parrish is still in the military. He’s in the Middle East (I can’t remember if he was in Afghanistan or Iraq?) and Mitch is there on business as well. They run into each other entirely by accident, probably while Mitch is doing recon, and he is Not Interested. He is working, and the tunnel vision is real with this one. But Parrish is a sweet pea and manages to charm him, of course. You can’t not love him. Mitch agrees to Parrish a call after the job is finished in a few days, and then after he is given leave for a few weeks, free to go wherever he wants, so long as he tells Kennedy (since she is his handler) and he decides to stay in the Middle East for a while and pursue a relationship with Parrish.

Full disclosure, that ending was inspired directly by the end of American Assassin (book ver) when Mitch decides to stay in Switzerland for 6 weeks and starts sleeping with possibly the worst person he could have chosen. It comes back to save him and bite him in the ass after the next book.

I also had an idea for a different ending, where the crazy shit happens to Parrish before they really have a chance to do anything/get to know each other, and Mitch thinks he’s dead. Then he finds out that no he’s alive, but he was medically discharged and sent home to the States. Sucks but oh well, it happens. Mitch goes on with his life, occasionally still thinks about Parrish but mostly tries not to think about the “what-ifs”.

Then Mitch goes home to California, because he hasn’t seen the fam in a while: John and Stiles, his dad and little brother. A while later he’s at the Sheriff’s station for some reason or another, and imagine his surprise when John introduces him to Parrish the guy he’s kinda sorta been crushing on, who is !!! when he sees him, like a happy puppy getting a treat. Which is a little odd, until Mitch says they’ve already met.

At that point John is just done. Because the reason I loved this ending was because of how he would react to his oldest kid apparently having a Thing with his newest deputy already, after Stiles was already dating Derek and then he became a deputy, and can his kids please stop sleeping their way through the station? It’s hereditary, since Claudia totally had a thing for John in his deputy uniform.

Of course then it becomes a station-wide joke that the easiest way to become a deputy is to date one of the Stilinski’s…

Then Mitch finds out Parrish is a hell hound, and he’s just like “I knew you were hot before, but damn…”

And when Stiles finds out about them lol, he’s just like what is this Sweet Innocent Puppy doing with his broody asshole of a brother??

Mitch: he is none of those things, just so you know 

Stiles: LALALA I DONT WANT TO KNOW NVM

Stiles and Derek are going over to Mitch’s place for whatever reason and right after Stiles opens the door Derek is just like Stiles No Bc ffs Derek can hear them but Stiles doesn’t listen and then totally walks in on them and handcuffs are involved somewhere. Parrish is absolutely a gentleman on the streets and a freak in the sheets. 

I have like so many crossovers bc I love Mitch so much, you guys have no idea. Steteritch is the Top Fav, but I have ideas of Mitch with just about everyone, platonic and otherwise. My Mitch/Allison (platonic) dynamic absolutely wonderful and will make you weep. I can’t wait to show them in SIF if I ever get that damn fic finished, bc he is just so sweet with her.

Okay okay okay, so, pretty much every one of those aus caught my eye because wow. But first off: Reincarnation AU with Steteritch. What is the story there? Who is being reincarnated? Is this across time with different lives or is it someone being brought back?

~Reincarnation AU~ A very fun one because it means you can include multiple AUs in one fic! 

To start off with, all three of them are being reincarnated multiple times throughout history. 

At first it’s just Stiles and Peter. They were cursed to never be together, but it resulted in binding their souls together. Every lifetime they are drawn to each other, but they can never be together, always dying prematurely. 

They get snippets of memories from their past lives, seeing each other in their dreams and wondering who this stranger is that haunts them. Come morning they can barely remember. Sometimes their lives even overlap; Peter once met Stiles two different times in one life, and it hurt more than he could imagine to lose him twice in the same lifetime, when he thought they were getting a second chance. 

Then, during one reincarnation, Stiles tries to break the spell. It goes wrong, the magic he was attempting rebounds on him, and it kills him. 

It also splits his soul in two. 

Next time, instead of being reincarnated once, there are two pieces of his soul to be reborn. Enter Mitch. 

It’s not an exact science, they aren’t ever reincarnated at the same time. In the next life Peter meets Mitch first because they’re closer in age, and run in the same circuits. It’s the roaring 20s, Peter is some rich aristocrat and Mitch is the son of one of his partners/friends. He’s set to take over his father’s business and so is being introduced to Peter. 

When they meet Stiles, he’s a waiter at a party Peter is hosting a year later, now fully ensconced in a secret relationship with Mitch. Stiles is heartbroken; he’s been getting some of his memories, and was trying to find Peter, but Peter is already with someone else. But then that someone is like looking in a mirror, and when he meets Mitch they’re both like ??? at each other, because how do you explain the close resemblance? (har har, a little meta joking from the author) 

Like always, they die before they get their happily ever after, and the cycle continues. 

Mitch is reincarnated in the late 60s and falls in love with his high school sweetheart, Katrina. They go to study abroad in Scotland together (instead of just her, as it happened in the books). Peter is returning home on the same flight as them after a business thing. Stiles was meant to be on the same flight, but he gets sick. Then Pan Am Lockerbie happens, and Stiles sees the news, and doesn’t understand the pang of hurt he feels for the two strangers on the screen who look painfully familiar. He dies several years later.

Peter is reincarnated 4 years later, Mitch a few years after that in the early 90s, and Stiles in 2000. This time Peter is a werewolf and Stiles is his budding emissary (following TW canon now, instead of AA), and Mitch is a hunter. Stiles realizes something strange is going on with his dreams, does a spell to recover past lives, and the grief and strain of it all hitting him at once puts him into a coma... meaning he isn’t there to protect his zombie wolf when Mitch comes to hunt him....
