Muppet Fact #835
On Sesame Street's 50th anniversary, the Cartoon Network Facebook account posted an illustration of many of their popular characters as Sesame Street Muppets around a lamp post with a sign saying "123 Cartoon Network Street." In this drawing, Ice Bear (We Bare Bears) was Cookie Monster, Beast Boy (Teen Titans Go!) was Oscar the Grouch, Gumball and Darwin (The Amazing World of Gumball) were Bert and Ernie, Jake the Dog (Adventure Time) was Big Bird, and lastly Ruby and Amethyst (Steven Universe) were Elmo and Count von Count.

Kaiju Week in Review (November 26-December 2, 2023)
Tumblr media
I wasn't over the moon when Toho announced that Takashi Yamazaki's Blockbuster Monster Movie was in fact the next Godzilla film. I had seen a few of his works—none bad, but none spectacular either. Well, I've set my sights on watching the rest in the new year, because Godzilla Minus One is an unqualified masterpiece. A tagline from the original Godzilla, King of the Monsters! comes to mind (as it often does when you're me): "Mightiest melodrama of them all!" A lot of the post-Showa films suffer from an abundance of characters who just spout exposition and look at monitors; here, almost everyone in the small cast gets at least one close encounter with Godzilla, and the monster's backstory is conveyed with extreme efficiency. This tale of a war veteran trying to rebuild his life in the ruins of Tokyo, stumbling into a family, finding fulfillment in blowing up leftover mines, and haunted by what he perceives as his cowardice in combat, would have been plenty compelling without Godzilla.
Since it does have Godzilla, it's high on my list of the best movies of the year, and I only need one viewing to call it one of the best installments in the almost-70-year-old series. Yamazaki patiently waited some 15 years after Always: Sunset on Third Street 2 for his shot at a Godzilla feature. You certainly get the sense, watching one of the most brutal, pissed-off incarnations of the monster ever to grace the screen, that he spent every day of it in preparation. Watch it often while it's still in theaters, and watch it big.
Tumblr media
Godzilla Minus One will gross about $10 million in its U.S. opening "weekend", a third-place finish that beat expectations. For context, Godzilla 2000, the last Toho Godzilla film to receive a wide release here, made about $10 million during its entire theatrical run here. Ticket prices were cheaper then, of course, and Minus One was helped along further by almost half of attendees going to premium-format screenings. Conversely, it had to overcome Americans' subtitle phobia, and the first weekend of December is usually a slow one. I was pessimistic at the outset, but now I expect larger theaters to carry the film into the new year, especially with near-universal raves from critics and audiences.
Tumblr media
Yes, a third section for Godzilla Minus One; it's well-deserved, I promise. MyKaiju is risking life and limb by hosting an English translation of the film's novelization, written by Takashi Yamazaki himself. It appears to be at least partially machine-translated, but the Japanese text is included for comparison. Haven't read it yet, as I want to see the film a second time first, but quite a breakthrough given how mysterious this sort of thing usually is.
Tumblr media
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters could never hope to compare with the opening of a stellar new Godzilla film; unfortunately, I also thought this week's episode was the weakest so far. It's bookended by Frost-Vark action, but the rest just drags. All's forgiven if the teacher and the hacker smooch though.
Tumblr media
Toho and Legendary used to let each other's live-action Godzilla movies breathe; now the U.S. opening weekend of one is coinciding with the opening marketing push of the other. IGN released a trio of pics from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, showing Kong with his axe; Dr. Andrews, Jia, and Trapper (Dan Stevens's character) in uniform; and Godzilla "evolving into a powerful new form." The same article included an interview with director Adam Wingard. Naturally, he didn't give away much... besides the return of Doug.
Earlier in the week, Legendary put out a trio of posters featuring Godzilla, Kong, and the film's antagonist, now christened Skar King. The taglines ("Unite" for our heroes, "Bow to Your King" for SK) sound like kaiju campaign slogans. Makes me wonder if, like Godzilla vs. Megalon before it, the movie will improbably capitalize on the presidential election next year. To steal a joke from Titanollante: Godzilla/Kong unity ticket? They'd have my vote.
Godzilla's new form, meanwhile, has already been spoiled by a T-shirt on Legendary's own site and some dire-looking Playmates figures. It makes sense that Wingard would want to have his own spin on the character after keeping the design from Godzilla: King of the Monsters for Godzilla vs. Kong. Hard to cast judgment without seeing the real design in full, but there's one particular detail I really like.
The film also has a booth at CCXP in Brazil, with a panel later today, so I think a trailer is incoming (the main reason I hammered out this whole post so quickly).
Tumblr media
I missed this one last week: Tsuburaya announced an anime project called Ultraman: DARKNESS HEELS. The DARKNESS HEELS branding has been around for a while, spotlighting prominent evil Ultras—and, of course, Jugglus Juggler. No details on the anime yet, but if the Juggleman's there, so am I.
Tumblr media
The big toy reveal this weekend was Super7's ULTIMATES! MaiGoji figure. Previous Godzilla figures from this line haven't lived up to the official photos, but hope springs eternal. It's $85 (much less than the MonsterArts); preorders started Friday. Other highlights: a Super7 ReAction figure of the original Godzilla's skeleton, which comes with a little Oxygen Destroyer, and a plush Mothra from Surreal Entertainment that can flip to imago form to a neck pillow-shaped larva.

SPOOKY MONTH DESERVES & NEEDS MORE EPISODES NGL!
Tumblr media
Even if I agree and it’s fair that all cartoons must come to an end, I feel like it’s disappointing that Spooky Month only has 4 more episodes left & will end on episode 10.
Now I understand that Sr Pelo can’t always do Spooky Month because (not only an episode is supposed come out once a year around October, November or December) The Animation Is Hard, Time Consuming & Expensive. Sr Pelo clearly deserves a break.
But I feel it’s so unfair that Spooky Month only has 6 Episodes (+ 1 Fan Comic) So Far while other stuff like Sonic Cartoons, SpongeBob SquarePants, South Park, SMG4 & BFDI have an ASS Load of episodes wether if they’re episodic or serialized.
I even miss when Spooky Month wasn’t becoming serialized yet around the time when there was only the episodes Spooky Month, The Stars, Unwanted Guest & Spooky Argument. Tender Treats & Hollow Sorrows did actually feel like a fresh way to start a lore storyline that will lead to episodes 7, 8, 9 & 10. But the fact that the funny lightheartedness gets faded away WAY too fast by the time new episodes come, It might a bit hard to follow for me (since I don’t enjoy Skid, Pump & Lila being treated as Punching Bags for dark horror plot device).
Even if making more Spooky Month episodes before Episode 10 might take forever, what I can at least suggest for Sr Pelo is that at least try to make more fun episodic episodes. I mean why not just make more shorts where Skid and Pump interact more with Lila and also have Lila and Jaune interact more. Skid, Pump, Lila & Jaune going on adventures in Spooky Month is what makes it work (since they never argue or get into THAT much trouble, which kinda reminds me of The Belchers from Bob’s Burgers. LOL). I even think The Hatzgang should have their own shorts where they interact more the same way how Ed Edd n Eddy do in most of EEnE episodes. Since there was also a Streber & Ethan short, why not do a short episode where Streber, Kevin, Ethan & Radford all interact and get into crazy adventures but somehow make it at least funny (it would feel like something from Regular Show & Eddsworld if you ask me.). Also I’m pretty sure my boy, Frank deserves his own short episode since the guy is another Pelo voiced character (at least have him go on crazy and funny adventures the same way how Chef did in South Park RIP). So yeah, I think Spooky Month just deserves and needs more short episodes just to keep the “episodic” vibe alive rather than just focusing on the story (Because hey. Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, Over The Garden Wall & Rick and Morty all have done this too.). Spooky Month still has potential, you know.
This is also considering that Sr Pelo’s other cartoons like Mokey (+ JohnKnee and Ill) have a good variety of episodes. It be nice of the Spooky Month short episodes had that kind of Magic for funny comedy. At least around October, November & December, Spooky Month could get a short episode once a week (like how SMG4 gets new episodes every Wednesday & Saturday). Even if there is the merch/plush video & soundtrack video for Spooky Month, there has to be more than just that. It has to work somehow if Sr Pelo really wants to still entertain us in Spooky Month (besides how he does in Mokey & JohnKnee and Ill). It just seem fair TBH.
So yeah! If you’re listening Sr Pelo, you can take all the time you need before you’re ready to go back to Spooky Month. However, all I can hope is for you to please give Spooky Month the variety it deserves. It’s just an idea to you. That’s all.

Thoughts on Aroace Peridot and Nuance in Representation
(This post is both a late contribution to Arospec Awareness Week and a very late reflection on this Variety interview with Rebecca Sugar, published back in November 2023 for the 10-year anniversary of SU's premiere. It is also inspired by the excellent SU analysis of @love-takes-work.)
“That is something that we also wanted to show on the show. Not everyone has to be waiting for a relationship, whether it’s a relationship to lose themselves in, or to make themselves realize something about themselves that they need. You can also realize that that’s not something that you need.”
- Rebecca Sugar on Peridot's intentional aroace coding
Let's talk about Gem fusion, aspec identity and allegory, and everyone's favorite aro-colored Angry Little Slice of Pie, Peridot.
The concept of fusion in Steven Universe is robust enough to support many different meanings and metaphors as the story unfolds. As introduced in the early Season One episode "Giant Woman," fusion is the physical manifestation of a relationship among two or more Gems, in the form of a new, larger Gem with a composite personality and greater abilities. Even when performed for a utilitarian purpose, it holds emotional and social significance for the characters involved—and how could it not, when it gives form, face, and shared consciousness to their interpersonal connection? I would describe fusion as an inhuman intimacy ritual that not only engages the body and mind (like many forms of physical affection among humans) but also redraws the borders of the self (like the construction of an intimate partnership). Clearly, there is potential here for both aromantic and asexual coding. There are also significant hurdles to getting the latter on screen.
The limitations that come with writing for a younger demographic can inspire creative and thoughtful queer narratives that help children build compassionate, progressive worldviews. This has only become truer in the years since SU dared to push the envelope and pave the way. This show excelled at presenting subjects like same-gender affection, trans self-discovery, nonbinary identity, and disinterest in typically romantic activities and gestures, both through quiet normalization—with or without the use of specific labels—and through allegories for more complex struggles and joys.
Even now, though, representing asexuality in a children's cartoon, which by its nature does not deal directly with sexual themes, is tricky. The fluid polysemy of fusion underlies much of SU's queer theming and character writing; but how do you represent asexuality through a character's attitude toward fusion without implicitly conflating this magical ability with sex? I honestly would not have blamed the creators for steering clear of the subject entirely, given that they were already working under threat of cancellation and fighting for every scrap of queerness that made it into the show. But Maya Petersen and other members of the Crewniverse managed to thread the needle.
You can argue, as I'm sure people have, that if all Gems are biologically asexual, and only one anomalous Gem (Rose Quartz) has even experienced sex, then disinterest in fusion can only ever represent aromanticism as an identity and can never be extrapolated to sexual orientation. But that strikes me as a superficial argument, closing off avenues for character analysis and undercutting the very deliberate queer dimension to the writing.
Before reading the above-linked Variety interview with Rebecca Sugar, my response might have been this: None of the fusion relationships we see onscreen in SU are sexual in nature, but this doesn't mean that fusion can't hold that meaning for any Gem or human*, or that a lack of interest in fusion can't serve as an analogy to asexual identity within the narrative. And that's all still true. However, this counterargument is missing something, and that's a child-centered perspective.
Some young children may be aware of asexuality, especially if they know adults who identify as such and have explained it to them in an approachable way. But what does it mean, practically, for a child to know that "asexual" is one way for a person to be, and a word and community that they may or may not find fitting or welcoming to their older selves? Well, they should understand that while many people's ideal future involves an intimate partner or spouse, often comprising a nuclear family unit, there are infinite other paths to happiness and fulfillment. And they should be firmly instilled with the idea that their body is their own, and no one can force them to do things with it that discomfort or simply disinterest them.
Peridot—who is not a child, but is an outsider and an initial skeptic of the Crystal Gems' ways—models all of this beautifully in her welcome-to-Earth arc, reflecting asexual and aromantic experiences simultaneously**. She demonstrates intellectual curiosity around fusion and arrives at a deeper understanding of it through the lens of a fictional pairing she's invested in, but she ultimately decides that the real thing isn't for her, and she is comfortable and steadfast in that decision. Her guide in this exploration is Garnet, who values fusion to the highest degree but doesn't take Peridot's aversion personally—in fact, she immediately says she's proud of Peridot for trying something new but backing out when it stops feeling right; and for endeavoring to understand Garnet better while honoring her own inner truth. Absolutely incredible.
Could this representation have been more overt? In theory, yes. Given the time period and context and executive constraints, likely not. Is it a problem that Peridot is a nonhuman, an alien? Maybe for some people, though I feel that if a character is written with depth and personality, they've already dodged the actual harmful conceptions of ace and aro people as robotic, soulless, or inhuman—even if they happen to be a robot or extraterrestrial. Steven Universe features a diverse cast of nonhumans, all of whom feel deeply and approach fusion from different perspectives; Peridot simply holds one attitude among many. Is it harmful for the ace- and aro-coded character to also be the most noticeably autistic-coded character? I can't personally answer that, except to point out that the SU fandom, like the general population, includes many people who exist in the overlap of those identities and deserve prominence in this discussion. If this post reaches any autistic aspec fans, please share your thoughts. As for the notion that Peridot is infantilized... it's probably for the best that the planned scene with her sitting in a high chair got cut, but regardless, she is an adult. She is competent in some areas and naïve in others; she starts off about as emotionally immature as Amethyst and grows just as far, without ever losing her sense of fun or bombast. Sounds pretty aspirational to me.
(It would be false to say that Amethyst and Peridot are my favorite characters because their coloring matches the ace and aro flags, but it's a delightful coincidence.)
Aroace representation is sparse enough in adult media, where there are theoretically no barriers to mapping out the identity in full. In a child-friendly show, it's pretty astonishing to not see the "ace" factor sublimated into the aro coding to produce a character who's merely uninterested in dating or marriage. I'm not sure there's a way around that in cartoons about normal humans doing normal human things, though I'd love to see another queer-positive kids' show tackle the challenge***. But within the character-driven sci-fantasy of SU, the concept of fusion is fertile ground for laying out these nuances of bodily autonomy and selfhood-within-community, in a way that serves the fictional characters as much as it encourages emotional development in the children watching.
One more reason—as if we needed another—to love this cartoon about learning how many ways there are to love.
~ ~ ~
[On a mostly unrelated note, Steven and Connie are a shining example of a lifelong loving relationship that flows beyond the narrow banks of the friendship-to-romance streamline that audiences tend to expect from young boy-girl friend pairs. It is so, so important to me that we never see their first "real" kiss onscreen, because that milestone changes nothing about the love and devotion they feel for each other. I was very confused, and honestly peeved, when I saw bloggers excitedly declaring Connverse to be "canon" after their casual little kiss in the final scene of Future, because... Steven and Connie have always been together in every way that matters. When was this ever in question? Even within the morass of mortification that is "Together Forever", the show never once entertained the notion that their relationship might not survive. They will continue to be jam buds and best friends and fusion partners and absolute cuties even as an old married couple; we've known this since early days. So who cares about the specific gestures they choose to communicate their affection? (Less diplomatically, I'm very tired of the rigid equation of mouth kiss = romantic = official = canon, and all its equally flawed rephrasings and corollaries, that lead people to denounce some of the queerest stories around as "bait" because there wasn't enough implied saliva.) As individual characters, Connie and Steven may or may not be ace and/or aro, but there's a lovely, refreshing queerplatonic reading to be found in their friendship regardless—and I am so grateful to the crew for simply writing them as kids who think the world of one another.]
Footnotes:
* For example, I do think Rose Quartz was as ace as the rest of them, irrespective of her sexual experimentation with Greg and her other human lovers. But those encounters are hardly framed as thoughtless or meaningless. I imagine Rose as being fascinated by the differences in human and Gem intimacy, and reaching conclusions that subsequently informed and colored her subjective experience of both acts. This is not territory that the show would or should have ventured into, nor is it something I'm personally interested in reading or writing, but it's a valid axis for mature fan discussion nonetheless.
** Not to mention a bit of anti-imperialist deprogramming, as her understanding of fusion expands from "tactical display of force in battle" to "expression of trust and camaraderie, for communal benefit or simply personal enjoyment," and beyond.
*** Lilith from The Owl House is great, and online bonus materials are definitely a step up from Word-of-God pronouncements with no follow-through. But they're still not part of the show canon, and that's a shame.

The Fruits Of Passion (1983) ‘A Surrealish Thing’ written and directed by Russell Senior. Performed by The Wicker Players: Jarvis Cocker, Magnus Doyle, Tim Allcard, Ellie Ford and Steve Faben. Included musical interludes performed by Russell, Jarvis and Magnus.
"It was kind of Zurich 1919 revolutionary, very much inspired by Dada," says Russell. "The idea was that people would either walk out in disgust or stay to the end and think it was really cool, and the people who'd stay would be the people who we'd start the socialist revolution with . . . "
The Fruits of Passion Extract from Truth & Beauty: The Story of Pulp by Mark Sturdy.
Direction and identity certainly weren't lacking when, his initial plan of producing it with the Crucible Youth Theatre having fallen through, Russell decided to employ the largely idle remnants of Pulp to present his "Dadaist piece of agit-prop", The Fruits of Passion, to the public. For the project, Russell, Jarvis, Magnus and Tim dubbed themselves The Wicker Players (after named after the somewhat insalubrious area of Sheffield that housed the former silk factory where Magnus lived, and of which Tim was the caretaker), roping in a couple of friends, Steven Faben and Ellie Ford, to act in the play, and Magnus' flatmate Peter 'Manners' Mansell to help out behind the scenes.
Dig Vis Drill vocalist Ogy McGrath was also asked to be in it, "but I'd written a play at the time called Friendship House, and after Russell read that I think he kind of went off the idea of me being in it! The Fruits of Passion had characters like First Authoritarian and Second Authoritarian, and I wasn't sure which authoritarian to play. Russell goes 'There's no difference'. 'But I need to get into my character, do you want me to be low authoritarian, high authoritarian or what?' Great sense of humour, Russell. One day they'll find it and give it him back. I liked him back then though - I think I was the only one in Sheffield who did, so I was ahead of my time in that sense . . . "
The raison d'ĂȘtre of the play, which ran for four performances at various venues in Sheffield during December 1983, was the provocation of its audiences. "It was kind of Zurich 1919 revolutionary, very much inspired by Dada," says Russell. "The idea was that people would either walk out in disgust or stay to the end and think it was really cool, and the people who'd stay would be the people who we'd start the socialist revolution with . . . "
The action was interspersed with musical interludes from Jarvis, Russell and Magnus. "The stage directions were something like 'Put vacuum cleaner on stage. Switch it on. Leave it on until audience becomes restless'," remembers Jarvis with amusement. "The climatic scene was me eating a plate of fake shit at a job interview. I remember the last performance we did, at the Crucible, it looked really real. I looked at Russell and he had this look in his eyes, and I thought 'I hope you aren't testing me out here'. It turned out he'd employed a new recipe, which I think was peanut butter and chocolate. But it looked very realistic."
"It was very intense," says Russell of The Fruits of Passion. "After getting about half the people walking out of this thing and the other half thinking it was really cool, we decided to continue things and make a bit of music."
The Fruits of Passion
Dates: November/December 1983, Yorkshire Artspace Society, Sheffield November/December 1983, Hallamshire Hotel, Sheffield 8 December 1983, Sheffield University Octagon Centre 10 December 1983, Crucible Studio Theatre, Sheffield
The Wicker Players (1983-1985)
Various open mic / ‘cabaret’ events organised by Russell Senior at the Hallamshire Hotel, mostly toward the end of 1983. Participants included Jarvis, Magnus Doyle, Saskia Cocker, Michael Paramore and Tim Allcard.
The only known dates are: 18 December 1983 - ‘Wicker Players Christmas Panto’, Hallamshire Hotel, Sheffield 26 February 1985 - ‘Wicker Players Mystery Event’, Hallamshire Hotel, Sheffield
Saskia has a vague recollection of performing in one of Russell’s plays at one of these events: "It was about a night out on the town. Jarvis was supposed to be chatting me up at a bar. He was supposed to ask me what I wanted to drink, and I say 'Oh, I'll have a Pina Colada please.' And he thought I'd said 'peanuts and lager', so he put some peanuts in a glass of lager, and I threw it over him."

The Fabelmans (2022, Steven Spielberg)
17/03/2024
The Fabelmans is a 2022 American film directed by Steven Spielberg.
The film is a semi-autobiographical story loosely based on Spielberg's adolescence and early years as a director. The plot is told through the original story of the fictional Sammy Fabelman, a young aspiring filmmaker who explores how the power of film can help him see the truth about his dysfunctional family and those around him. It stars Gabriel LaBelle in the role of Sammy, alongside Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen and Judd Hirsch in supporting roles. The film is dedicated to the memories of Spielberg's real-life parents, Leah Adler and Arnold Spielberg, who died in 2017 and 2020, respectively.
Spielberg had conceived the project as early as 1999, with his sister Anne writing a screenplay titled I'll Be Home. Spielberg revisited the project in 2019 with screenwriter and frequent collaborator Kushner while they were making West Side Story, and the script was completed in late 2020.
It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 2022, where it won the People's Choice Award. Distributed by Universal Pictures, the film opened theatrically in the United States on November 11, 2022, and then expanded to wide release on November 23, grossing $45.6 million against a $40 million budget, a disappointing result for a film directed and produced by Spielberg. It received largely positive reviews from critics and was named one of the ten best films of 2022 by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute. The Fabelmans earned numerous awards and nominations, including seven nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, including seven nominations at the 95th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Williams) and Best Supporting Actor (Hirsch). It also earned 11 nominations at the 28th Critics' Choice Awards, winning Best Young Performer (LaBelle), and five nominations at the 80th Golden Globe Awards, winning Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Director.

I have too many pets. Here they are all in one place.
(no the newest cat has not been added yet)
Steven Tiberius Beans. God's perfect little animal except that he needs to be walked at least twice a week or he'll scream and try to run out the door. Born July 2017. Made of morning sunbeams and cinnamon. Extremely touchable tummy. Captain of the debate team. Once very clearly yelled "fuck you" at me but in his defense I said it to him first.
Tumblr media
Eggs Benedict (Bennifer, Bimby, Bindle etc) cannot contain his emotions. Big happy, big scared, little baby legs. Muzzle trained and sedated for your safety. Plays the toddler xylophone. Feigns stupidity to manipulate others, has an absurd sense of humor. Built like a beanie baby but would bite a toddler over a squeaky toy. Born November 2019 (highly inbred and has major pandemic puppy problems).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seeker (Dreamsend Dream Seeker) was rehomed to me from sheer dumb luck Fall of 2020 because the universe knew we were meant to be together. His manner of grumbling resembles a human speech pattern with a stutter. Sweet sensitive perfect creature. Can summon small localized breezes specifically to blow his hair around and occasionally dream walks to visit his friends. Born August 2014.
Tumblr media
Susuwatari (Susu, Soup, Soupy) is a former bottlefed foster that my sister couldn't let go of, so she gave him to one of my partners. Buddies with Benny. Cuddly. Gets protective of little fuzzy pompom toys. Says Eeeeh instead of meow. Born and adopted sometime in 2020. If anyone opens the fridge while he's in the kitchen he grabs their ass and yells until he is given spinach. This is known as Soup and Salad time.
Tumblr media
Sully (Suliman) was dumped at my clinic with a bunch of other young cats. I was fostering him but failed almost immediately. He thinks everyone should love him despite the fact his favorite hobby is causing problems. He knows exactly how cute his face is and will make baby eyes at you after affectionately biting your nose (hard!)
Tumblr media
Former kitties Aris and Kiwi (tagged Kwee or kweecat) may come up from time to time but were humanely euthanized due to poor quality of life from unmanageable arthritis and worsening kidney failure.
Miyoko left the physical plane in 2024 but I'm leaving her blurb as it was when she was with me.
I think Miyoko is an animated pile of dust, fur, abandoned birdnest bits, and dryer lint that an irresponsible enchanter left in a Whole Foods parking lot. Completely delusional, told me she is a lost ruler of the fae because she has minor residual magical abilities. Not a fold, scar tissue rumpled her ears after untreated infection. Chooses violence. Adopted early 2020. Thinks Seeker is her best friend but he just ignores her because he knows she is unstable. Flings curses over perceived slights. Tread carefully. Maybe she IS fae I don't really know.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, Cakepop was a very sick 2-3 week old kitten I found in 2017 and bottlefed. He passed away from Panleukopenia between 9-10 weeks old. It's hard to find my posts of him because my tagging then was very inconsistent. My heart is still pretty broken about losing him.

Jeffrey Dahmer, a Netflix TV series
By Nassim Belhadj
After Ted Bundy, Charles Manson or even John Wayne Gacy, Netflix is now adaptating the life of the serial killer : Jeffrey Dahmer. The series entitled Dahmer: Monster, was released last September on the platform. The opportunity for us to look back on his life.

A difficult first part of life, the beginning of strange and disturbing behavior:
Jeffrey's early life was very complicated, his mother had complications when she got pregnant with him. In addition, his father is not very present in his life, the rare moments he spent with him are devoted to dissecting dead animals. Between the ages of 10 and 15, he has very few socials relationships. During his puberty, he discovers his homosexuality which he will hide all his life to his parents. When he was 17, they divorced. During his adolescence he became an alcoholic. As a university student, he was expelled because of his addiction. He arrives in the army; however his demons catches up with him again and again. Then follows a period where Jeffrey will not be able to stabilize, because of his drink deases. First murder at 18
Jeff kills someone for the first time at 18, in June 1978. He is alone at his grandmother's and he takes Steven Hicks and offers him to drink a few beers at his place. When the hitchhiker decides to leave the house, Dahmer hits him on the head with a 5kg dumbbell, then strangles him with it. He buried the body in the garden. Nine years later he commits his second crime, he will later confess that he has no memory of having committed this murder, he will murder two more people. In the summer of 1989, his grandmother sent him home because of his bizarre behavior, the fact that she found a 357 magnum under his bed, not to mention the pestilential odors emanating from the basement. In 1989, he moved into his apartment in Milwaukee. He will kill four people that year. 1991 is the year of his arrest. On July 22, 1991, he made the rounds of homosexual bars in the area and offers Tracy Edward to pose at his place for photos for 50 dollars, he accepts. When Edward decides to leave, Dahmer shows himself to be violently handcuffed and takes him to his room to show him the movie : "The Exorcist 3". Tracy manages to get out of the apartment, call a police car. In the apartment the investigators will discover human heads and parts in his refrigerator, a heart in his freezer, skeletons in his closet, no less than 3 human torsos in a barrel of hydrochloric acid and skulls in the drawers of his kitchen.
Following this, Jeffrey Dahmer will be judged and he will receive 16 life sentences. He will be killed on November 28, 1994, by a fellow prisoner at the age of 34.

NCN: The Fandom Reblog Plan
For No-Content November in two months, I’m going to take the time to write my pieces and not post anything (aka no major changes so far lol). Maybe I might post something before then this month or next month, but it’s not a sure thing.
However, I do want to do something for it and change my habit of liking vs reblogging. So for November, I’m going to do a reblog month where each day, I reblog for a fandom that I have or will make content for. Along with anything else I’d like to reblog, each day will be dedicated for a particular media.
Here’s my list:
1) Moana 2) Bendy and the Ink Machine 3) Beetlejuice 4) Courage the Cowardly Dog 5) Nightmare Before Christmas 6) Little Shop of Horrors 7) Sam and Max 8) Twisted Wonderland 9) Poker Night at the Inventory 10) Cuphead 11) Pokemon 12) Little Nightmares 13) Dead End: Paranormal Park 14) OK KO: Let's Be Heroes 15) Brain Dead 13 16) Disney Mirrorverse 17) Puppeteer 18) The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals 19) The Ghost and Molly McGee 20) Cult of the Lamb 21) Looney Tunes 22) Steven Universe 23) Demon Slayer 24) Onmyoji 25) Ed, Edd, & Eddy 26) Turning Red 27) Growing Up Creepie 28) Lilo & Stitch 29) Amphibia 30) Hadestown
Bonus if I actually write these fics before or after the month.
